Ssrs generates blank extra page when no data is selected

In a new SSRS 2008 report that I just setup, there are 5 datasets that are located on the main report that refer uniquely to 5 tablixes.  There are no subreports for performance reasons. The purpose of the ssrs report is to export data to excel and
have each report go to a separate tab in the excel workbook. This occus since on each tablix, has the 'add a page break after', 'repeat header columns on each page', and 'keep header visible while scrolling'.
These reports do export to different tabs in excel when they contain data.
On each of the tablixes I have the 'NoRowsMessage' filled in in case there is no data.
The problem occurs when there is no data for a tab (unique report) and only 1 report selected. The error message is generated and there is a blank page after the error message is generate. Is there a way for me to get rid of the blank page after the report
is generated that says there is no data selected?

Thus when there is 'no data' for report(s), is there a way in ssrs 2008 to have that message appear on unique tabs in excel when the data is exported to excel? If this is possible, can you tell me how to accomplish this goal?

    Sorry, I overlooked Katherine's simple solution, partly because the header doesn't go away, it is just replaced with something that cannot be differentiated from the report background. Keep in mind that the space the tablix is in is still occupied by the
    tablix as you can see below:
    Sample report with no data and an empty rows message of "  ".
    Above is the same report without a no rows message but with the header row hidden using thisformula: =IIf(Count(1)>0, false, true). You can see that the space that the header normally occupies is collapsed away when hiding the header whereas the spaces
    ("  ") occupy that space when using the no rows message.

    Turns out to be an iPhone 4 problem. I went to a store and they replaced it. No problems now. My wife's iPhone 4 also had to be replaced which is disturbing. We had the original iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS without issue. This iPhone is not that good. It was emphasized to me the other day when I used a Razor in my house and found the voice quality infinitely superior and worked in places where my iPhone 4 failed completely (all on AT&T).
    People on the other end of calls with the Razor commented that my voice sounded much better and asked what had I done (they were used to the calls made with the iPhone).
    I am afraid I think that the iPhone 4 is not all it is cracked up to be. For phone use the Razor beats it hands down. Now, when it comes to email etc. the iPhone is infinitely superior but as a phone it is certainly not as good as it could be.
    I am afraid that Apple may have lost the magic recipe and, if I had not gone past the return date, the iPhone 4 would be going back.

    75% of the time this happens, 25% of the time it works as it should.

    Do you mean that it is opening links in a new window? If you would rather have a new tab instead, you can set that in Options > Tabs. Some links are set up so that they will open in a new tab or window. I know of no way to make those open in the same tab, short of changing the code on the page.

    Hello, I've just started using Numbers '09 and noticed that for each page I have, there is an extra blank "separator" page that is added. Last night, I started a spreadsheet using one of the templates, and it's only 2 pages long, but it states on the sidebar that it's 4 pages. Those extra blank pages are only seen when you do a Print Preview. Is there a way to remove or disable these extra blank pages?
    I don't want those blank pages to print, especially when there are multiple sheets within the file with those blank pages mixed in-between. Plus, I send the file to others to reference too and would like them to be able to print the pages seamlessly without having to remove any blank separator pages that are printed in-between. Seems like there should be an easy remedy to this, but so far, haven't been able to find the solution. Thanks for your help!

    Unlike other spreadsheet programs, Numbers doesn't have wall-to-wall tables. Tables have a finite size and wherever there is a table a page will print, whether there is content in the cells on that page or not. To prevent the sheets without content from printing, you need just reduce the size of the tables to what you actually are using. If you select a cell in your table and scroll to the lower right corner of the table, you will find a large handle that when dragged will change the number of Rows and Columns. Drag the handle up and to the left until it encounters content. It will stop there on its own.
    Now go to the Print View mode: View > Show Print View. You will see all the pages with content and adjacent non-printing pages will be grayed-out.

        It is not possible to close the blank window that appears while downloading programmatically from within your Web Dynpro application. The user must manually close it.

    We've created a 'flip book' in Indesign and exported it as a swf and html docs. These docs both view correctly locally, but when uploaded into the same directory on our server and viewed via safari or chrome, they both appear as blank browser pages.

    Thanks Sumit, but ID didn't create any other resources to go along with the swf and html files. Besides, it doesn't need to; there are no other resources but it still works locally. The swf is a stand alone file, the html just gives access to that file when accessed via a browser.

  • Blank second page when printing duplex (HP8600)

    When I click print for duplex printing, the 2nd page prints blank.  (HP8600)
    If I print a 3 page document, page 2 is blank.  The first sheet should include pages 1 and 2 (front and back) and the second sheet should include page 3 (front only).  It prints sheet 1 (front only) and sheet 2 (front and back).
    I verified in print preview that there is no blank page in my document.  They are continuous.  Can anyone halp me please?
    Also, I notieced that my Adobe pdf docs are printing backwards...page 4,3,2,1 instead of pages 1,2,3,4.

    There should be a setting (collated, last page first, or something like that) you need to change to have it come out the way you want.

  • The website Kotaku brings me to a blank white page when i try do a search or click a link to an older post, it says done in the loading bar. Also had an error where I couldn't log in properly while trying to post this question on these forums.

    Yesterday I clicked the "link Facebook account" on the website www.kotaku.com.au. Prior to that I can't remember having this issue. Not sure if its related.
    My first idea was to use safe mode, which worked. so i disabled my addons in non-safe mode but it still didn't work.
    The only thing that solved the problem was clearing my cookies, so for now I have the cookies of kotaku blocked. Obviously not an ideal situation.
    I found these error message in console:

    I was originally going to post this as a website error, however when trying to ask this question using Firefox I was presented with my log in name and a log out button, rather than the Ask a New Question page. Once again, it worked fine when I disabled cookies.
    So now I'm thinking it may not be a single site problem.
    Can't find many useful topics on the internet, needing some help.

    Thanks for the flag J.K. - they contaced me and solved my problem.  On this account (which I created just to ask this question), I log in with my email rather than my user name (mtalldud). On the account that I was having trouble with, they told me to use my user ID instead of my email to log in and it worked. This is a bit confusing and seems a bit inconsistent but at least I don't need this temporary account any more to get into this community and find answers!

    Hi,
      Refreshing a connection to Database means re establishing your connection each time.It will be load for the DB to load the data every time generally not advisable to do.
      Inorder to get the value from the DB you have load the driver and connect it using fireplug with the view for navigations.
