SSRS: How to handle Landscape PDF page

I’m using SSRS to author PDF documents of size 8.5 * 11. I use the article
here to achieve this. But I don’t know how to handle the situation when one of the PDF page ( not the whole PDF file) is in landscape mode. Here are the steps I’m following
1>
Convert each PDF page into .png. each Size 8.5 * 11in
2>
Create report of size 8.5 * 11
3>
Drag & drop rectangle onto report body. Each rectangle of size 8.5 * 11in. represents one PDF page
4>
Set background image of rectangle to PNG created earlier.
Issue here is, if one the page in PDF is in landscape mode. When I create png for this page I have to rotate the image so that I can author it during design time. This image becomes 11 * 8.5 instead of 8.5 * 11.
If I leave the report size 8.5 * 11 then output PDF creates extra pages.
If set report size 11 * 11 then out PDF is also 11 * 11 ( which we don’t want)
Question:
Is there any way to rotate that particular rectangle (PDF page) clockwise during PDF export. Note that all other pages will be in portrait mode except the one which I want rotate.
Any help, hint will be appreciated

cannot use that solution. I'm planning to use SSRS to author PDF document. (as described in this
article here).
So the rectangle will have background set to an image. and then there will be controls (textbox, tables etc) on the top of rectangle image. So setting the rectangle's visibility will not solve my issue.
i think solution would be to author each Landscape page as separate report. and then export them as separate PDF. and merge them using third party APIs
Unless anyone has other solution

How to create a PDF page that displays in Email and contains links to a page in the full PDF.

I was able to create the PDF page and activate links to pages in the full PDF document. But when I test-email both files to myself, the links do not work.

You have created links between two PDFs while they were regular disk-based files (I assume using the 'open a file' link action). When they're both attachments to an email message they are no longer in any meaningful 'location'. Some mail clients will extract all the attachments in a message into a temporary cache folder, so they do end up being able to see one another; but others will open each attachment on demand and prevent them from accessing anything else. Attachments are a huge security risk and sandboxing them is always best practice - the result of which is that lots of PDF functions just don't work.

My guess is you are not escaping single quotes or are not concatenating your Page Item
It should be something like ...
s1 vahracr2(4000) := 'select ..., ''A'' ,... from... where PID = '|| DBMS_ASSERT.ENQUOTE_LITERAL(:P1_CMDCODE);Note the quoting around A to escape the apostrophe and the use of concat.

How to handle substring in page

I'm displaying the value of a column from a table in two
pages - a preview page and a detail page. This column in the db
contains text from an article that includes html tags for
formatting.
On the preview page, I'm displaying the first 500 characters
in this field. (I want to show the first few sentences of the
article) On the detail page, I display all the characters in that
field - the whole article. I ran into a problem today where the
500th character is part of a closing html tag. By displaying less
than the whole tag, the tag is left open on my page and causes
portions of what follows on the page to break.
Any suggestions for better ways to handle this?

Most of the CMS/Blog systems I have come across have 2
fields, one for
the summary, and one for the main content. The Summary is
limited to 500
characters. You then just display the summary on the preview
page, and
then both the summary and the main content on the detail
page.

How do I normalize pdf page sizes

Seems like this should be more obvious but I'm stuck for solutions.
I keep getting these pdfs from clients that have pages of many different dimensions. I'm batch processing these for various uses and the irregular sizes really throw a wrench in the works.
My question, is there a way to batch pdfs (tool, command line, server or anything) so that all the pages are the exact same dimension?
Mind you, cropping is not an option unless that means adding some padding to the smaller pages so that they match the larger ones. Scaling is probably ok too but for now I just want to hear any options that are out there.

Well, that is a start.
Under the latest Acrobat for Macintosh (10.1.4), there is no Crop menu. (Menus are a tried and true user interface tool, so Adobe got rid of them).
You choose the Crop Tool.
Then you select an area larger than your document (if you select an area smaller than your document, sometimes the resize page also crops--I don't understand).
Then you double click your crop (so much for direct selection with a tool). A dialog box comes up.
Note that it says that the current page size is 11 x 8.5 (approx). Then choose Tabloid, and the dialog shows an expanded page size of 11 x 17, with the pdf stretched to fit.
Then you click All pages, and OK, and voilá, your document does have a new page size, but it is 17 x 11, not 11 x 17, and the white space is on top, not equally distributed as shown. But at least it hasn't stretched your scanned document as is implied by the dialog.
However, if you try to generalize to get the page size that you want, it doesn't work.
For instance, if you try to resize a document that is 11" x 8.486" (my document) to 14" x 9", a dialog comes up that says "Page size may not be reduced". If you try to resize it to 9" x 14" (just in case you misunderstood which is X and which is Y), no error message comes up, but the page size is not changed.
I'll futz around with this some more, but, Man, is Acrobat a time-sink.

How do I download pdf pages?

Need to download bank statements in PDF format. Downloaded 'Adobe Reader' but download not working still.

PDFs can download without any help from Adobe reader or any other program. Your computer has two Library folders. You see one when you click on your hard drive icon. The other is in your personal drive space and once you may only see it if you hold the option key and select Go from the Finder menu. Open both Library folders and inside each look for a folder called Internet Plug-ins. (Your own Library might not have the folder, it depends on what you've downloaded and installed since buying the computer.)
Look inside each of the Internet Plug-in folders for anything that includes the name PDF in it. Remove it (them) from the folder. Restart and then try to download a PDF file. That should fix it.

It works great when I have some data.
For some reason if there is no data generated then I get an error message saying that document not found.
Can someone suggest what should i put here so that if data is not coming then print 'No Data Found'
I looked at Tim's blog but that does not help and I am still getting the same error.

I do have the latest one. But it the kind of template I am using it has last-page tag and some templates defined in it.
That might be reason it is not taking the if condition for Section break. I can send my document to you if you provide me ur email address.....

If possible, How do I copy multiple PDF pages to a word document?

I know how to take a snapshot of one PDF page at a time and copy to a word document; however, I do not know how to copy multiple PDF pages at once. Is it even possible? I would love to know if anyone has any information pertaining to my question!

If it messed up the formatting, you will not be able to do more with Acrobat. Some third party products supposedly do pretty well, but that conversion may cost you as much as Acrobat.

Displaying 2 PDF pages on one page

Really enjoying books in EPUB format as I am able to display 2 pages in landscape view on my iPad mini. However, I'm unable to do the same with PDF's. Does anyone know how to display 2 pdf pages on a page in landscape view rather than just 1?

How to handle JSON response in XSL-Fo templates during PDF creation of the page

XSL-FO in CQ5 converts xml output to PDF so for each new XML tag I need to introduce xsl-templates.
But For ext-js javascript widget on the page that’s not part of CRX Node/page that shows result by making Ajax call and render JSON output. How to address that inside PDF page creation.

On every page I use ctrl:page or ctrl:pageState DataObjectLists.
On pages with search criteria I use ctrl:httpSession DataObjectList to save all criteria in one session. You must write event handler when you make search or trigger FIND event. In this event handler you must put every search form parameter in session.

How to split a parallell-page PDF into single-page PDF

My situation: I have a few hundred pages of files I made quite a few years ago, optimized for "self-publishing" via the printer. I no longer have any source files (my own bad). These files have 2 pages next to each other in an A4 landscape PDF. I would like to change and combine these files into a US Letter portrait PDF.
I have browsed earlier, similar threads, most notably the most referred to thread:

which recommends using Adobe PDF printer. However, as this thread points out, and as I for one have found on my own system (10.8.3), Adobe PDF printer is no longer an option on Mac OS X (version 10.6 and on):

So the question then is: How do we now split double-page landscape PDFs into single-page portrait PDFs?

Since at least OSX.5 adobe has removed PDF Printer which was begining to fail it was written in Adobe's altered version of javascript and it was a wonder it was working to begin with They replaced it with an Automator action that's called up through the print Driver.
Here are the steps for applications other than Acrobat.
create you doucument. laying it out the way you want it.
Go to Print menu.
click and hold the pdf button - a context menu pops up.
now scan the list of choices and choose Adobe PDF or Adobe Quality PDF (depends on version of OS)
wait for direction fields to come up and make the desired choices (the first screen is basically job options).
when asked ask for name either ecept name give or choose name of your choice.
Browse to desired location for file
then click save.
How the PDF is layed out in acrobat is determinedby acrobat. Adobe add an additional Layer on top of the Print Driver. You can by pass it and use the Print Driver but if there is an orientation switch in your docment the page is turned so everything comes out with same edge of Paper
Oh, look out for a Grand idea Adobe did that even Forest Gump would have left alone.
If you want to do duplex printing to a PDF with more than one page you won't be able to do so whether you have your printer setup for duplex printing. You can go back and forth from printer setting s to Printer setting toggling off and on til you turn blue in the face. You have to go into the document properties and loo for a command called SIMPLEX printing its on by default and needs to be turned off. Even my cat Boots would be smart enough not to put that in.
This settinging does not permanently turn off and you have to do with each document you create or resave.
