Hi Simran08,
According to your description, you added group to the table and added page break to the group. You want to show page header according to group.
In Reporting Services, we can use ReportItems to refer to the value of the report design surface in corresponding textbox. For example, if you want to show the group name in each page header dynamically, we can refer to the following steps:
Right-click anywhere of page header, click Insert, then click Text Box.
Right-click the text box, and click Expression.
In the expression text box, type the code like below:
=ReportItems!name.Value

  • Export excel setting Page header once per report not working

    Hi All,
          I am having a java web application which creates the predefined template reports in pdf or xls or rpt format. I have a requirement where in case of XLS format, the page header should be displayed ONCE PER REPORT. I have Crystal Reports XI release 2 and Java 1.5.
        I am setting from java code
         formatType = IReportFormatOptions.CeReportFormat.EXCEL;
         reportFormat.setFormat(formatType);
         IExcelFormat formatExcel = (IExcelFormat)reportFormat.getFormatInterface();
         formatExcel.setExportPageHeaderFooter(IExcelFormat.CeReportExportHeaderFooterOption.ONCE);
    I have installed a patch named Excel Export patch which basically sets some registry entries
    Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal
    Reports\Export\Excel\PageAreaExportType to 0 for default behavior, 1 to display no page area, 2 to display page area once per report, and 3 to show the page area once per page.
    Set HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Crystal Decisions\10.0\Crystal
    Reports\Export\Excel\ColumnWidthBaseArea to 0 for default behavior, 4 for column width based on detail
    section.
    I have set PageAreaExportType to 2 and ColumnWidthBaseArea to 0 and 4.
    Still i see the page headers repeating on every page. Could you please help me in resolving the issue?
    Thanks in advance.

    Currently in our new version of java application, we are not using DHTML viewer. Predefined report templates are published on crystal server and from Java application, we send the report parameters to the crystal and also specify the format type.
    Exporting excel from the crystal template is working fine with the page headers repeating only once (have set the page header show once per report option before exporting it to excel). But the same is not happening from the Java application. i have attached the required files to the message that i posted. If you have the access you can take a loot at them.

  • How to display dynamic header title in the report?

    I have a req to display dynamic header title in the report.
    When a id is entered in the prompt text, it will display the user data based on that user_id.
    so similarly....the header title should vary each time when you select different user_id.
    How can we implement this?

    Zack..I have several projects listed under several project id's...
    so when a user selects project id 00164 then it should display something like "Project document for Jon Doe"
    again when the user selects project id as 00192 then it should display something like "project document for Zimmerman"
    Did you get it??

  • Display Invoice Details in 3 pages only, as per the tags, data is overflown

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to display invoice details in pdf output from XML Source using rtf template.
    The PDF output will display invoice details for One address number per page.
    When I execute the report in JDE standard version I get the pdf output in three pages as expected.
    from the blank template when I executed the report for a data selection of One business unit and three address numbers. Below is the query.
    SELECT * FROM PRODDTA.F03B11 WHERE RPDIVJ =110037 AND LTRIM(RTRIM(RPMCU))=03285 AND RPAN8 IN(204346,204352,202370).
    The XML source in the printqueue shows me five address number tags instead of three as per the data selection given above. The data in the second tag has overflown to third and similarly from 4th to 5th tag.
    When I take the said XML source it is displaying 5 pages. Is there way to design the rtf template where it can print only 3 pages.
    Below I have given the actual source code.

    Thanks for your response Shastry, but I am having trouble understanding it. Not sure how the above steps will read the current date.
    To be more specific, I want to display only that cost that falls in fiscal year.
    In above example now since it is 03/26/2011 and my fiscal year starts on 04/01 . I want to display cost from row 1 and when the same report will be run after 04/01/2011 it should display cost from  row 2.
    Like wise if the report is run after n number of years , it should display cost as per the fiscal year at that time.
    So i guess the formula should really depend on system date/current date/ print date
    Thanks!

  • SSRS 2008 R2 - Dynamic header data stays the same when exporting

    Background:
    I have a SSRS 2008 R2 report with a single Tablix.
    The data is grouped by InvoiceID, with each appearing on a separate page.
    I'm displaying some of the detail data in the group header row using Expressions similar to the following:
    ="Invoice # "  & ReportItems!InvoiceID.Value"
    The data referred to by my ReportItems statements are all hidden in the detail row (Advanced Mode, the Hidden Value for the Static Row Group is set to false).
    Problem:
    When I Preview the report in Visual Studio, everything looks as it should - the dynamic header data changes correctly with each group.
    However, whenever I export the results (I've tried all the formats), the header data is the same for every group - its taking the values from the first group and using it in all the groups.
    I've copied the same expressions into my Totals row, and the data is correct when exported; its only happening in my header rows.
    Any help in resolving this is greatly appreciated, thank you.

    Hi Alex,
    According to your description, you have a header with expression contains ReportItems. Now you find it shows incorrect result when exporting to a file. Right?
    In Reporting Services, it has reported some similar issue that the ReportItem returns unexpected result when exporting.  In this scenario, since you just want to show the group name in each page as a header for detail rows. So you can make the
    detail rows group on the Group. Then delete the Group column but still keep the group. After that add a row above detail row (Out side of group) and put in "=Fields!InvoiceID.Value". Now it will show the corresponding Group name
    when you set page break between each group instance. We have tested this case in our local environment. Here are screenshots for your reference:

  • Cannot display page header from layout builder

    Hi:
    I am somewhat new to BI Publisher.
    I am using BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1.
    I have changed the config file and set the parameter for the Online Template Builder to "true". The layout builder does display properly.
    If I add a Page Header or a Text item, neith will appear in the Preview nor when I save the template and view the report. Data does appear in a data table.
    Can someonw help me sort out why the page header will not display?

  • How to suppress page header when rendering particular group footer

    Description:  I am using Crystal Reports 2008.  I have a report with a page header, and several groupings.  The groups all suppress their headers, but have footers.  The grouping is in the order:  type,county,city,status,parent.  The first 3 footers force a new page before the footer.  The county footer includes summaries and charts.
    Problem:  The client wants the header displayed for the detail and the header for the county footer to be different.  How can I make this happen?
    More Info:  I currently have just a page header.  I have tried messing with the suppress formula for the page header, but I cannot figure out the correct formula to use to suppress the page header on a county footer page.  Is there a way to do this, or is there a completely different approach I should be taking to solve this?
    I can provide more info if needed.
    Google search was unhelpful in solving this problem.  This problem is driving me nuts.  Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Michael

    What i would suggest is to create a new variable in WhilePrintingRecords evaluation time. For example:
    1. Boolean variable set to TRUE in Group Footer #2 (County)
    2. Reset it to FALSE in Group Header #2 and Group Footer#1
    3. Use the variable for conditional suppression

  • Profile Manager Settings for Group does not display for individual members of the group

    Hi there,
    Can anyone confirm whether I am going mad or not, I and new to Mac Server and have set up Profile Manager on OSX Mavericks from scratch and have been using it successfully to deploy enterprise iPads. I have just gone to edit the profile as we wish to increase the timeout time to locking and have been greeted with something strange.
    We have all users in a Group which has settings applied for timeout, pass code change etc. however if I go to an individual account who is part of that group then it isn't showing any settings for that user and it would appear I need to set them again. Similarly if I go to a device belonging to a member of the group then its not showing any settings for that device.
    I would have assumed that if you set restrictions for a group then when you view the restrictions for a member of the group then it would be the same however it appears that you can have a separate payload for a group. Is this the case?
    I am grateful for any advice people can give me.
    Thanks again.
    Rob

    I would have assumed that if you set restrictions for a group then when you view the restrictions for a member of the group then it would be the same
    That was never the way it worked in older versions of 10.3, 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 Server.
    The restrictions for a Group were shown for a Group. The restrictions for a User (alone) were shown for that User.
    And the advantage is that if you see something wrong for a single user, you might be tempted to fix it there, in that user, and when you had changed six of them, you might remember that you meant that to be a group setting after all.
    And the software to implement them separately is simpler, but YOU have to test it to find out the end results of compositing Group and User settings.

  • Header Line Per ALV group of items in GRID not LIST.

    Hello Experts,
    My question may seem very basic but i am stuck with it.
    I am using ALV Grid function (REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY) to display my ALV.
    Example Case :
    I have 10 line items .
    1)     2 line items are sports.
    2)     2 line items are books.
    3)     2 line items are Mobiles.
    My ALV displays like this :
    No.    Object     Object Type
    1)       Ball          sports
    2)       Bat          sports
    3)     Maths        Books
    4)     History      Books
    5)     Nokia         Mobiles
    6)     Samsung   Mobiles
    And i want it like this :
    No.     Object
    Sports <---- I want this to act as header per line item .
    1)        Ball
    2)        Bat
    Books
    3)       Maths
    4)       History
    Mobiles
    5)       Nokia
    6)       Samsung.
    I.e i need a row stating Object Type IN ALV Grid similar to how we make use of AT NEW EVENT in LIST REPORT.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Sudeep.

    Hi,
    If GRID is a 'MUST' requirement, then you can try preparing your internal table in the manner you want the output.
    Something like this:
    - Sort the output internal table.
    - Loop on the output int table.
    - Use AT NEW object type
    - Append Object Type into another internal table
    - Then read rest of the records with same object type into another internal table and appending the same.
    Not sure about the efficieny but you can try.

  • How to display subtotal description depending on the group name in ALV

    Hi,
    In my ALV report, i need to display with different descriptions for each subtotal text and i dont want to do any subtotal for the  final group.
    EX:-
    groupId Material numbers
    1 1
    1 2
    1 3
    1 4
    total of first group (Subtotal text)
    Group id Material numbers
    2 1
    2 2
    2 3
    2 4
    total of the Second group (subtotal text)
    3rd group i dont want to do any subtotal.
    Please help me how to do this one.

    Hi,
    I think standard ALV couldn't satisfy the requirements, unless there are some methods I don't know. But I am thinking of using ABAP list or form to display the report.

  • Change page header based on group being printed

    I have a report that is grouping by two fields, field A & B.  When the report is printing group A I would like the page header to be "Group A Header" when the report is printing the groups for field B I would like the page header to be "Group B Header".  I can't seem to find a way to change the header based on which group is being printed.  If I do "If GroupNumber = 1 Then "Group A Header"" it prints "Group A Header for the first group and the first record of the second field group.
    Basically what I am trying to do is create a report that has a chart that is un-grouped followed by charts that are grouped.  I've accomplished this by creating a formula that is always true for the un-grouped chart and adding it as a group.  below that I have a field group for the charts I want filtered by group.   When the un-grouped charts are printed I want the page header to reflect that, when the grouped charts are printed I want the page header to contain the group name.

    Not enough info. Try CR 2008 it has more control over printing.

  • How to use two different report items in SSRS page header

    Hi All,
    Can we use more than one report item in SSRS 2008 R2 page header...
    Like this in expression..
    =IIF(Globals!PageNumber=1,ReportItems!Col1.Value,ReportItems!Col2.Value)
    Whenever Globals!PageNumber=1 I want to show values present in Col1 and when Globals!PageNumber<>1 then show values present in col2
    Also let know if any other work around is there to meet above criteria...
    Thanks,
    RH
    sql

    Hi RH,
    Based on my research, a text box in the page header can only refer to the ReportItems built-in collection once in an expression. So if we directly use the expression in the page header, we can receive the error message that “The Value expression for textrun’’
    refer to more than one report item. An expression in a page header or footer can refer to only one report item”.
    To work around the issue, we can add two text boxes to the page header: one for the textbox col1 value (=ReportItems!Col1.Value), another for the textbox col2 value (=ReportItems!Col2.Value). Then use the expressions as below to control the visibility of
    those textboxes:
    =iif(Globals!PageNumber=1,false,true)
    =iif(Globals!PageNumber<>1,false,true)
    Please note that only text boxes on the current page are available as a member of the ReportItems collection in a page header or page footer section. For example, if ReportItems!textbox_name.Value refers to a text box that only appears on the first page
    for a multipage data region, we cannot see a value on other pages except the first page.

  • How to place aggregated fields in the page header or group header

    Hi,
    i have a report where in i have to display a header based on the aggregated value of a field
    currently the field has values like
    row1  blank
    row2  blank
    row3 Cookies
    row4 blank
    I wanted to know how to get the maximum of these rows in the page header i.e. it should come as Cookies for this case.
    Is there any way to get this? it is easy in the footer where i can do a maximum of this field and get the value but not sure how to get this in the group header.How do we group maximum at the page header or group header?
    Require your help on this at the earliest.

    Do display these things in a subreport(i mean adda subreport in detail section). And Create a formula in the subreport itself with shared varible for assiging  the maximum value ..
    Then in the main report , create one formula with same shared variable and just display in Header secton..

  • JavaHelp print shows null1/1 in the page header

    I just noticed that when I print a page of the JavaHelp system, it puts the word null next to the page number in the header of the printed output. For example: null 1/2. Does anyone know if that is a bug in JavaHelp, or if maybe there is something I need to configure somewhere in JavaHelp?
    Thanks for your help

    Thanks for the reply. That is really an interesting solution with many new things, which I dont know. I have mixed both the solutions and adjusted them a bit.That helped reducing the blank pages. But the issue with both solutions is page header(orderid, quotepostas,function date, page number fields) is displaying only for new Function Date. For remaining pages the page header is not getting displayed. Actually the function information, can span across multiple pages, caz it has many other children. Ex: Function with date1 has information that spans across 3 pages, only in the first page the page header is getting displayed, in 2nd and 3rd pages only the function information is displayed, page header is not getting displayed. Actually I am using it this way..
    <?for-each:Order?>
    <?xdoxslt:set_variable($_XDOCTX,'z',count(xdoxslt:distinct_values(Function/Date)))?>
    <?for-each-group:Function;Date?>
    <?OrderId?>
    Page num : <?position()?>
    <?QuotepostAs?>
    <?Date?>
    <?for-each:current-group()?>
    <?Date?>
    <?Id?>
    <?end for-each?>
    <xsl:if xdofo:ctx="inblock" test="position()<xdoxslt:get_variable($_XDOCTX,'z')"><xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute></xsl:if>
    <?end for-each-group?>
    <xsl:if xdofo:ctx="inblock" test="position()<count(//Order)"> <xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:attribute></xsl:if>
    <?end for-each?>
