Standard cost price update

Can anybody tell me in details the logic behind the standard cost price update.
Regards
Amitava

Hi.
1.After did the cost estimate in ck11n . you need to update the cost for the current period. then only it will update in the MM02 under the costing view.
2.In the update the costing , 2 steps need to do
a. MARK the costing . give the period for which you need to mark the costing. and execute in ck24
if you done . the price will update for the future period . you can see this in the MM02 under costing view / std costs
It means thats you do calculate and mark the cost but it will show in the future period in MM02 COSTING VIEW. . but you are not release this cost as the current period cost. so you are still in the old period costing only.
b. RELEASE the costing in ck24 itself. If you release the costing , then the costing will be show in the current period in mm02.

  • Reversal of Cost Price Update and Price Change MR21

    Dear SAP experts
Recently (on 1st of this month) i did cost price update for all my FIG items. Later i realized that some of FG items cost price was not accurate. So i want to delete cost price of those items and update price by using T code MR 21
When i try to cancel these items cost price by using T code CKR1, i am getting error message that particular material current or future standard price is avialable and i am unable to move further
Please guide how to delete current cost price of these items and update cost price by using MR21. Please note these items does not have any BOM and basically are contract manufacturing items
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Vedsai
When you use CKR1, it does not give error.. It just gives a warning message
Enter your Plant / Mat in CKr1 and select "Current cost estimate" or "Future Cost Estimate" as the case may be
If any warning comes, ignore it and press enter.... It should reverse the cost estimate
Now update from MR21 or preferably use CK11N again
Note: If at all it gives any error in CKR1, check in T code OPR4_CK if this msg can be converted into warning message

  • Cost price update

    Hi guys
i have a problem in updating cost price for all finished goods
we set in MM for all Raw Materials, process chemcials and packaging materials as moving average price and semi and finished goods  items as standard
our raw material and packaging items changes prices once in a month based on international market prices. when we started SAP we updated these items prices and that price showing standard price field.
now when i updated FG cost price it is taking standard price cost for BOM and updating cost price and is not giving accurate costing. everymonth cost price is same since it is not taking moving average field price which is correct one
so guide me everymonth how to replace standard price field with moving average price field in MM so that cost price of the finished product will be accurate
total items are more than 4000 so please do not guide me to change manually by using MR21

    Hi Ved,
Please check the priority of strategy sequence in the Valuation variant assigned to your Costing variant in Tcode OKKN. The first priority might have been set to standard price.  So, Change it to 'Moving average price' and the system will read the prices in the Moving average price field in the material master.
You DO NOT have to use MR21 or change any material prices or use material ledger. If you set the priority to moving average price, the system  automatically reads those prices in the BOM items while costing.
Hope this should resolve your issue.

    Vishnu.

  • Relevant for Costing - Price Update

    Hi,
SAP standard is offering Price Update for Inventory Costing through 'Relevant for Costing' against which price factors (50%, 75%, 25% etc.) is maintained.
    1. We would like to use this to devalue the inventory values on a particular basis. What transaction do I need to execute to devalue.
    2. I am using one material in BOM for SFG/FG, wherein I am entering the "Relevant for Costing' key. (50%). However, I am not able to see the result. The consumption is getting posted @ 100% rate and the cost of RM in FG is also 100%. It should have been 50% as per my understanding.
Am I missing any link. Please guide me to resolve this issue.

    Hi Swapvik,
Pls check in your Costing Variant--> Valuation Variant --> Price Factors..
Here, Costing Relevancy is "X" for which you need to maintain your Price Factors. Pls check your entry and let me know..

  • Costing Price updation

    Hi all,
In all the below options, which price is updated in costing tab while saving Production order or Sales Order ? i.e. standard price or moving average price.
Case 1:- Valuation variant has "standard Price" for Material valuation
Option A): Procurement Type is E; Price control in Material Master is S
Option B): Procurement Type is F; Price control in Material Master is S
Option C): Procurement Type is E; Price control in Material Master is V
Option D): Procurement Type is F; Price control in Material Master is V
Case 2:- Valuation variant has "MAP" for Material valuation
Option A): Procurement Type is E; Price control in Material Master is S
Option B): Procurement Type is F; Price control in Material Master is S
Option C): Procurement Type is E; Price control in Material Master is V
Option D): Procurement Type is F; Price control in Material Master is V
    Regards,
    Vaibhav Gawade

    Hi,
Procurement type (E, F, etc.) will have impact only up to the calculation of the cost. It will not play any thing for Price update.
The below link may help you for getting an idea for the Material Valuation with Price Control as Standard and Moving Average price.

  • Standard cost error..

    Hi Friends
We have a material with diffrent valuation type per say MFG and procurment etc. During standard costing I found that standard cost is updated only at header level not at child material level, which cause of a loss of the difference cost.
Stock value is based on the individual valuation type i.e. is correct. But the problem in valuation type -MFG which having price control "S" having rate  which was uploaded at the beginning of the SAP live . Now the standard cost of material has increased  The stock which we are having in plant, evaluated at lower rate where it is consuming all raw materials at inflated/higher price. Why does its happening?
Please help us in solving this.

    Hi,
You have to change the standard price, whenever price increase.
    t-code is MR21.

  • Valuation Type Wise Standard Cost

    Hi SAP Experts,
I can not update the valuation type wise standard cost. It is going updated only at the Header level in the material master.
We have activated the batch valuatin and also the split valuation for materials.
At the header level in the material master there is a varialble price control and at the lower level we have defiend the valuation type with the standard price control. But when i am running the standard cost system update the cost only at the header level in the material master and not at the lower level.
Can any one help on this issue?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Trushit

Hi thank you for your answer. But if we maintain the valuation type default in split valuation then for all materials valuation types becomes mandatroy field, if we are going to open the batch but there may be the cases where batch is only going to be opend but not the valuation type.

  • Standard cost change

    Hi,
During costing run, there is change in standard cost, system  update this cost, How it is updated.
It is understand that the moving price is updated from GR/IR Clearance.
    focus on standard cost.
    Regards,
    Deven

    Hi Deven,
I was also in the same confusion in last few month,
    See,
There are two Price in SAP,
    1) Moving Average (MVP) , 2) Standard Price.
SAP recommend (MVP) for Raw material and other Consumables and Standard Price for Semi Finished and Finished.
Because finished Product with MVP has no control on your Price, it always Fluctuates.
Also SAP Does not always recommend to use  MR21.
To have control on our finished product companies fix STD Price.
Say i make Refined oil at 50 rs per KG.
I know Approximate quantity of  R/w and other consumable for Preparing 1 Kg oil
    Say my components are
    1) Crude oil 2 kg @ 10 rs kg =  20 rs MVP
    2) Hexane 3 KG
    3) Sulphuric acid, Bleching powder, degum powder 3 kg each.
This is where my BOM is Defined.
Now labour charge is 10 /hr , electricity 2000 kw, OVHD 2000 rs.
This is where i prepare Routing, Now i club BOM and Routing to Production Version.
My Plan  is fix, it my rarely change .
Now when i run CK 11n System fetch data from Prd Version, Calculate STD price.
If Suppose u say Crude oil heaxane rate per KG has changed, say Crude is nw 30 rs /kg. or my labour hr has increased,
Since my FM is std , Now i dont want to change using MR21, so nw change BOM routing to Future plan and run CK11n mark and
    release for future price.
Sorry for all if any error, if so correct me
This may clear ur Doubt Deven.

    Pavanidlur

  • VPRS standard cost.

Hi there we are using an additional standard cost ZPRS for a calculation with in the SD pricing. The standard cost is updated each month. Our SD calulation looks at the current selling price and if this is lower than the standard cost (ZPRS) the price used is ZPRS if the selling price is higher then the selling price is used.
We also do retrospective orders, these have delivery dates and pricing dates in the past. But when we price the order the ZPRS is set as of today, is there way this can be made to also look in the past the same as the normal PR00 etc.

    Hi
The scenario is very interesting. As per my understanding of the scenario, you want the back orders to consider the past condition records while determining the condition values. It can be done, but both the conditon types' records (PR00 and VPRS) are compared for a given date. One condition record of present and one condition record of past cannot be compared.
You can try using the field 'Price Type' in Copy Controls Functionality. This is only a clue.
Finally, when your issue is solved, please donot forget to post the answer.
    Thanks,

  • Production Order with Standard Costing

    Hai
    How to activate check point
If standard cost (Price control -"S") is less then 0 in material master then production Order can not creae.
    Dharmesh Soni

    Hi Soni
As AMIT said this can only be solved only by User exit.
This user exit will pop up error message during plan order to prod order conversion while saving or during saving prod order when it is manually created.
This user exit will look whether the standard cost estimate has been run for the header material of prod order and will not allow you to save the prod order.

  • SAP 2007A BOM Components, Standard Cost

On the BOM window, I don't understand why Standard Cost was removed from the choices on the Price drop down list for components. Are my clients the exception? On BOMs, they are more concerned about purchase costs on than selling prices.
How can I get my Standard Cost to appear on the BOM rows in 2007?
    TIA.

Your logic is unassailable. I wish SBO used it, but I can almost justify to myself why it does not.
If you look at a BOM, you'll see that all the line items reference Price Lists, not costs. There’s no cost for the components. What I did for a client that uses Standard Cost was create a price list for each of their warehouses and populated it with the standard cost for each item in that warehouse. So the cost rollup for the BOM itself was the sum of the standard cost price list * quantity for the items.
I don’t know what one uses for FIFO, etc. I’d be curious to hear how others handle this.
My lame justification as to why SBO doesn’t show the cost is the same as why you don’t know the cost or profit margin by looking at a sales order. On a BOM or a sales order, the cost is theoretical. True cost for a BOM isn’t known until goods are issued.

  • Update of Price in Material Master  when standard costing is released.

    Hello SAP gurus,
When we created standard cost estimate, various cost estimate is created in various views Cost of good sold, cost of good manufactured and Inventory ( commercial ). Different view have different cost estimate.
But we I release costing , the material master is updated by cost estimate of Inventory ( commercial). The cost estimate from Cost of good manufactured should be update?
I am not able to solve the above issue , please help with customizing link
    Regards,
    Anand Agrawal

    Hi Anand,
While you configure the Cost Componenet structure you define the attributes of cost Components in OKTZ.
When defining the cost components, you must specify whether the cost component plays a role in the creation of the different prices that are transferred into the material master record. You have the following options:
    Standard price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for stock valuation form part of the standard price if the results of the standard cost estimate are marked and released. These costs also serve as a basis for the following:
The calculation of target costs in variance calculation
The valuation of scrap in variance calculation
The valuation of work in process for the confirmed yield for the operation (order-related production, process manufacturing) or at the reporting point (repetitive manufacturing)
    Commercial price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for inventory valulation for the purposes of commercial law form part of the commercial price. This price is calculated in an inventory cost estimate and can be written to the material master record.
    Tax price
Costs that are flagged as relevant for inventory valuation for the purposes of tax law form part of the tax price. This price is calculated in an inventory cost estimate and written to the material master record.
The above information will prove helpful.

  • Standard cost update for configurable material- CU50

    Hi,
I am trying to update standard cost for a configurable material using CU50 with reference to the sales order.
System gives a warning message :- Configuration of raw material still not included in price determination
    Message no. CK784

  • Copy Standard Cost to Moving Average Price

    Dear All,
We are maintaining the materials with price control as Standard Price and moving average price is updated and used only for statistical purpose.
I have a requirement of copying the standard price to moving average price field just after the standard costs have been released.
We have used CK40N to complete the calculation and release of standard costs.
Please let me know which SAP standard transaction can be used for the purpose.
    Regards,
    Manish Gupta

    Hi
Whats the need to copy std price to moving price?
I dont think there is any such t code to copy it.. But a weird work around is, if u r on ECC 6.0, you can change the price control from S to V and again V to S.. In this process, your price will get copied from S to V
However, not a recommended way of doing... If you do, you shud do this at a shot and blocking all others users
