Standby/Replacement

Dear Experts,
One of my client reqmt in Standby/Replacement.
Requirement: Need product serial number in Notification for Standby/Replacement material.
Is it possible??
kindly let me know.
Regards,
Ansar

Hi
Normal scenario is ... you sell a equipment to customer... u will create a serail no at delivery in sales order... fine...
You customer has send the equipment to ur place... for replacement or his contract is over.. so he has returned the equipment to u and its in standy condition...
See... easy way to handle this.. is...
Once the equipment is delivered.. create a customer service functional location (Customer Name) and assemble the equipment there.. ok.. it will be easy to tackle the equipment via serail no or material no.. in IE06
then.. if he has send the equipment for repair... you can go for repair and service process...
else... he has returned the equipment.. dismantle the functional and assemble to the stores functional location of yours... such that in equipment usage period.. it will say how long the equipment is in stores and its in customer etc...
This is how u have to tackle the equipments...
see.. all equipments gng to customer site.. will have a material and serial no combination... same equipment can have serveral serial no.. once u have entered the material no in IE06.. it will list the diff serial no with customer details...
In IW59 for notification.. just enter the material no... it will list out the notification created, including the equipment using layout

  • Will logical standby database be replaced by physical standby database?

Will logical standby database be deprecated or replaced by physical standby database because of Real Time Query?
As far as I know, because of the emergence of Real Time Query, physiacl standby database is easier to work than logical standby database. There are so many restrictions on using logical standby database.
Will logical standby database be deprecated in the future?

Good question - you are right that with the advent of Real Time Query, physical standby databases can provide the 'reporting database' functionality that you used to have to use a logical standby database for.
But remember that logical standby databases allow additional schema objects, like materialized views and indexes, that you can't have with a physical standby (for the reasons Hans mentions). For example, you could have a index-light primary database for OLTP style workload, and an index-heavy logical standby, with MVs and dimensions for reporting, DW, etc.
For this reason I don't expect logical standby will become deprecated.

  • Replace standby server in CCX 8.02su3 HA cluster

    Hej.
I am replacing the standby server (secondary node) in a CCX 8.02su3 cluster because of hardware failure.
I can only find the procedure for replacing the primary node on cisco .com.
Here is what I attend to do :
    1. Remove secondary node (server name) from primary node's www under System->Server
    2. Take backup of primary node
    3. Add secondary node (server name) in primary node's www under System->Server ( Same ip, sub etc as old secondary node but new mac)
    4. Start installation on secondary node (with adding patches in the installation phase so the server comes to SU3 with the same)
    5. Take full backup of cluster.
Don't if step 1 (and 3) is nessesary..
Can anyone please verify this procedure.
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

This is exactly what you need to do if you are reinstalling the second server.
    Thank you

  • Replacement of primary unit failed! (ASA5510 active/standby)

    Hi all,
I have an issue bringing up my RMA'd primary ASA unit.
    So what happened so far:
    1. primary unit failed
    2. secondary took over and is now secondary - active (as per sh fail)
    2. requested RMA at Cisco
    3. got ASA and checked that Lic (SSL), OS (8.2.2) and ASDM are at the same level as the secondary
    4. issued wr erase and reloaded
    5. copied the following commands to the new (RMA) primary unit:
    failover lan unit primary
    failover lan interface Failover Ethernet3
failover interface ip Failover 172.x.x.9 255.255.255.248 standby 172.x.x.10
    int eth3
    no shut
    failover
    wr mem
    6. installed primary unit into rack
    7. plugged-in all cables (network, failover, console and power)
    8. fired up the primary unit
    9. expected that the unit shows:
    Detected an Active mate
    Beginning configuration replication from mate.
    End configuration replication from mate.
    10. but nothing happened on primary unit
So can anyone give me assistance on what is a valid and viable approach in replacing a failed primary unit? Is there a missing step that hinders me to successfully replicate the secondary - active config to the primary - standby unit.
I was looking for help on the net but unfortunately I was not able to find anything related to ASA55xx primary unit replacement with a clear guideline or step by step instructions.
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated, and might help others who are in the same situation.
    Thanks,
    Nico

  • Replacement a new IPhone 4S  also standby 10hrs battery full empty?

I have no idea what you're asking

  • R61i fan replaced, now goes into standby every 20 to 25 minutes

First post on this forum. Having paid a tech ($$$!) to come to my home to replace the fan, I've had the additional issue of standbys occurring at least once per hour which are without a clean power down option, only unplugging the machine actually works. The tech denies that this issue is related to the fan replacement. Friends (non R61i users) say it's overheating or possibly the heat sink is not correctly positioned. Is this machine worth trying to repair? Yes it's old and an XP but my situation is such that I need guidance as to my next step. Any help appreciated.

I have replaced the fan on my R61 myself 3 times. It failed the first time when it was 4 years old, and each time I replaced it with a used fan bought on EBAY. Maybe they were too used. All you need to do it yourself is a copy of a few pages from the Hardware Maintenance Manual, a tube of thermal paste, a screw driver and about 30 minutes of your time.
The last time it failed, I did not replace it. I bought a can of compressed air, and blew it over the fan blades, which were heavily coated with dust, and it has been working fine since then (although I do have a spare waiting to be used just in case).
I am thinking that possibly, the thermal paste was not reapplied correctly. You cannot have a heat sink not correctly positioned on an R61 as the fan and heat sink are one unit, and fit tightly in position. There are many vidoes on the internet that will show you haw to change a fan.
    Good luck.

  • IPhone 6 (iOS 8.1) hot and is draining battery, even on standby.

    Greetings Everyone,
I'm having a really bad time here with my iPhone 6 4.7" iOS 8.1 device. It all started a few days ago, i was noticing that only at 100% the battery seemed to be just fine, but once it dropped just 1% of the 100% it would drain to 0% in 10 hours standby time. I thought that was kinda odd, so i decided to completely drain my battery till my device turned off to see if it would help to charge from absolute 0. That didn't fix the problem either, i went online and searched around the web for what might cause high battery drains on the device, and i found that restoring the device as a new device should fix many problems, since many apps for the new iOS seemed to drain the battery quite quick due to some bugs or something. So i did that but with no luck. I tried to turn off all background updates, disable parallels effect and what not, and still the battery drained like a maniac EVEN on standby.
I went on and researched some more, i then came across one of the new features iOS 8 supplied, that is the battery usage feature where you can see your battery usage for each individual app as well as up-time on standby and in use. And this is when i discovered something really odd, even after recovering my phone, setting everything to stock, turning off all connections (AirPlane mode) and turned off effects (parallels) which could cause a slight battery drain, and putting the device on standby - both the standby and usage time showed the same amount of usage of 9 hours and 47 minutes. And yes to no surprise my phone is getting really hot, i can feel it through my pants, heating up my thigh.
I have tried restoring it through DFU mode, through iTunes and i'm pretty much out of ideas on how to solve this problem. Anyone has any idea on what might be causing this and how to fix it? Or should i just go to the store and hope for them to replace my device? :-)

I had the same problem. I realized that it had everything to do with my calendar app. My iCalendar was having a difficult time fetching information from my Outlook and Yahoo Calendar. Causing my battery percentage to decline at a very rapid rate. (50% in a 4 hour time frame). I resolved the  problem by going into my Settings >" Messaging , Contact , Calendar" Setting > Clicking on one of my selected Accounts ( Outlook or Yahoo) and turning off the Calendar Sync. The problem seemed to go away after doing this. Now I'm only using 4% battery life in a 4 hour time frame in StandBy Mode. Well I Can only hope that this will help resolve the battery drainage issue. Good Luck ....

  • HT4060 My  first generation Ipad won't allow me to charge it by the mains socket.  This was a replacement as my origional Ipad had a software problem.  I have rebooted it a number of times but still not charging.  Any advice?

My Ipad 3G has decided not to charge.  I have been using the same charger that came with it which worked perfectly until a few days ago.  I have even tried to charge it using my incar charger, but it still won't charge up.  This Ipad is a replacement as my first one had software problems, so I am hoping this can get fixed and not result in another replacement.
I will be grateful for any advice.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. • My ipad 3 stopped charging, not the adapter and reboot doesn't do anything.  I've tried all the tricks and different adapters and now my nearest Apple store is saying it just doesn't work and it'll be $300 to replace.  Only had it 1 yr and half.

My ipad 3 suddenly stopped charging last week.  I've tried different adapters, to no avail.  I didn't drop it or spill anything on it.  I don't have tons of apps, so plenty of memory.  My husband took it to the Apple store for me and they tried charging it too even though I knew that wasn't the problem and then said it wasn't working (no kidding) and then told him it would be $300 to replace.  Seeing as I've only had it for a year and a half and it cost more than twice that to begin with, I'm a little ticked that it stops charging, a problem I know is very common according the all the message boards and they want to charge me $300.  I've always heard that Apple was so good to it's customers, but my iphone has been a nightmare, and now my ipad won't charge.  Also, I've tried the reset options I've read about and none worked.  Sorry, just really upset.  I thought I was paying all this money for better quality and now I feel foolish for having done so.  Anybody with any ideas I, or the genius at Apple haven't thought of?  Help is appreciated.  Thanks.

May be some help on one of these links.
Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.
Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W or 12W (5W on Mini) USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (2.5W, most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.

  • How can I replace a brand new, but malfunctional iPhone 4?

    Hey, guys.
I am from Russia, and on our recent trip to Munich, Germany we've bought a new iPhone 4 8gb for my wife at the Apple Store. When we got home in a couple of days, I unboxed it, plugged in and proceed to install iOS6 wirelessly. On the next day we went to the carrier office for a local microSIM, and my wife started to use the phone. But suddenly we've discovered that it won't last even a half of a day: while charged up to 100% overnight, it dropped to 80ish in about two hours, and after dinner break it was already way below 30-40 percent only to discharge completely at 5 or 6 pm.
And all this while every 3G, WiFi, BT, geolocation or even cellular data is turned off. She just made a couple of calls, so all other time it was in standby. I saw this myself in the evening, you can hold it in your hand and literally look how battery percentage drops one by one. Also the phone is getting hot while screen is lit and extremely hot when it charges up.
We don't have an Apple store in our country, so I can't get any official support. I can't contact Russian Apple support by phone, because it redirects me to carriers' support and they can't do anything. I didn't find any e-mail address to write to. I started digging this forum and found similar problems in regard of some kind of a bug in iOS 6, as well as some solutions, none of which were working. For instance, I wiped the phone completely, restoring only contacts from icloud and disabling everything power-consuming I could find. Sadly, it didn't help.
So, I decided to give it to local service for some diagnostics. They ran it and results came back: phone is malfunctional because of some serious internal issues like abnormally increased voltage from the battery, bent microboard, slightly melt components and so on. They said it is beyond repair and is only subject for replacement or disassemble for spare parts. All this with a brand new device.
You can imagine my frustration. We don't have any financial means to travel back again just to replace it, nor can we send it over via postage service. The only reasonable solution would be to transfer it back to Germany with a random friend, but I am not sure if it is possible to make a replacement, becuase I've paid for it with credit card and there is my name on the receipt.
So, the question is, what should I do? Is there any way to replace it without my personal presence in the store; can it be done by someone else? And if not, can a friend just give it back, and they would refund it to my credit card? Also, is it mandatory to return it exactly to the same store, or any store in Europe can take it?
I would really appreciate if someone with a silmilar experience would elaborate on the solution. Thanks in advance!

Thanks very much for your reply! I have a Genius Bar appointment today maybe they can test the phone to see if they can determine whether or not it is defective.
    Thanks Again!

  • What's the fastest way to get a broken phone replaced?

    Summary:
What a joke. Clearly broken iPhone, but when I get to the store, no one will help me. I have to make an appointment with a "Genius" and come back later. In the meantime, no phone for me.
Anyone know the secret code to get timely help with a broken iPhone?
    Details:
iPhone crashed yesterday around 5:00. Wouldn't go past Apple logo. Using the recovery mode, I have:
    - Restored using my backup.
    - Deleted my backup and restored to a "new phone".
    - Re-downloaded and re-installed iTunes, deleted my backup, and restored to a new phone.
    - Uninstalled iTunes, deleted all ipsw files, redownloaded and reinstalled iTunes and restored to a "new phone"
After each of these, the situation is the same. The phone works (albeit very slowly and unevenly) until I turn it off (off off, not standby). When I turn it back on, stuck at the apple logo again.
So now I sit at the apple store, hoping someone will miss their appointment and I can sneak in off the standby list. What a joke. I'm definitely going to have to swing by the at&t store and see about switching to a phone that has adequate support when it breaks. I love the iPhone interface, but with a complete meltdown in the first 6 weeks of ownership and the long wait to see someone to get it replaced, it's just not reliable enough as a phone (not to mention the fact that the 3G really isn't ready for primetime). Sigh.

Make an appointment at the Genius Bar - http://www.apple.com/retail/geniusbar/ . You can also do it in store on any of the Macs there. It beats sitting around hopping a slot will open up.
I did both - I scheduled the earliest available appointment, but it was hours away and I needed my phone, so I tried waiting for a hour or so as well.
    deggie wrote:
See my answer to your last post.
Are you some sort of VIP that I don't know about? Why should you get to just walk in and have your problem solved when others made a Genius Bar appointment and showed up for it.
I don't think I'm better than anyone else. I think anyone with a broken phone should be able to get immediate assistance. I wasn't looking for training in how to use my phone, or assistance with some obscure functionality - the freaking thing wouldn't turn all the way on and couldn't be used for it's primary purpose, that of a mobile phone.
    Tenacious MC wrote:
I suppose you do the same thing when walking into a doctor's office without making an appointment and expect him to see you about your cholesterol being high? You'd go into an ER for an emergency like a broken arm but you're gonna have to wait in line just like everyone else unless it's a life-threatening condition.
See my response above. If my phone wasn't "feeling well", I could live with waiting to talk to someone. But my phone was in a persistent vegitative state and deserving of urgent care.
The one time I had a problem with my Motorola RAZR, I walked into an at&t store and the next available person helped me out (by replacing the nonfunctional phone). I didn't have to make an appointment with a special subset of the staff. I would expect Apple, the actual manufacturer (and, in my case, vendor) of the phone to at least meet the standard that at&t sets for phones they don't even manufacture.
And I hope for the sake for Apple's enterprise penetration plans that they don't share your misconception that this is just a matter of "hampering my lifestyle". It's a matter of interrupting mission critical infrastructure functionality.

  • HT3964 Installed a new battery for a Macbook 2,1 New battery not charging. Battery symbol shows (Not charging) and replace battery. Green LED on magsafe connection. Disconnection results in an instant shutdown.

I have just installed a new Battery after the old one showed (Not Charging) and when you clicked on this icon the dropdown"condition replace now". Problem now is the computer still shows the same message in the top bar (Not Charging) and the dropdown also shows "condition relace now". the magsafe show the greem LED i.e not charging, but providing power. If you disconnect the magsafe the computer powers off instantly confirming we have power. I have carried out resetting the SMC controller and still no change. Tested the standby voltage on the magsafe pins etc, all in spec. What should I do now, as I don't want to keep spending more and more. Bellow is the info from the system profiler.

    Hey,
    > 48-bit LBA: Not Suppported, Inactive
This would mean you can only use HDDs up to 128GB if 48bit LBA is not supported.
But if your current HDD has only 30GB I think something with 80GB should be enough or how much disk space you want?
The HDD brand is not important, every HDD is compatible so just buy new HDD with good offer. :)

  • Satellite A105-S4284 gets Blue Screen of Death when coming out of standby

MySatellite A105-S4284 runnings Windows XP gets a BSOD after coming out of standby or hibernation. With standby, I'll see the login screen where I enter my password, and then it may show the desktop background or even the open app (Outlook or Word, typically) for a second, afterwhich the BSOC appears. For weeks I was getting a black screen sporadically after standby. Researched the problem and saw recommendations to update BIOS. So I updated the BIOS to the latest version, and then I started getting blue screens of death rather than a black screen. Thought the problem was McAfee, because I'd get crashes right after McAfee became active in the background, sometimes without going into standby. Cancelled McAfee, took it off with the cleaner, used Avast instead, and that seemed to help. But then BSODs came back. I uninstalled non-essential software, clearned registry with CC Cleaner, freed up more HD space and defragged, ran SpyBot, etc - but I still get the BSOD almost every time I go into standby or hibernate.
The stop messages on the BSOD don't show a driver. and all begin with 0x0000007E (0x000000C5, ... and then differ after that.  One recent one followed with 0x804E13D5, 0xAA6B9B8C, 0xAA6B9888). Does that mean anything?
I've installed Microsoft's debugging tools to look at the dumps after a BSOD. Here is output for two recent crashes. Doesn't point to a driver. NTKRMLMP.exe is what crashes - do I need to replace that from the I386 folder somehow? I did have my Matsu**bleep**a DVD-CD drive suddenly quit a time or two until the computer was restarted. Should I reinstall the DVD driver? Or the graphics driver? Worried that I might break something by doing that.

In safe mode it is not possible to standby. That is disabled. Tried to make it possible with Toshiba's power control service, but it is not available.
In a new account, the BSOD still occurs. I created a new account, logged out of my account, and went to the new one. Tried standby. It came out of standby for a second and then had the blue screen of death.
In checking the event manager, I seen errors shortly before crashes sometimes that involve the CD.
So I went to Toshiba.com and downloaded the DVD RAM driver and ran it, reinstalling the driver, and then restarted.  I also saw that there was C-Dilla driver in my drivers. I uninstalled the SafeCast program that I think is associated with C-Dilla, moved the C-Dilla driver out of the drivers to a distant folder, unchecked C-Dilla in MSCONFIG so it won't load (it was still there after removing SafeCast), and then reinstarted. So with a new DVD Ram driver and neutering, I hope, of C-Dilla, I tried things again and the system appeared to be crash free - better than it had been. But then a crash occurred - BSOD - and upon restart, the CD locked up, and crashed again.
After restarting, there was a new dialog that popped up after Windows launched indicating that there had been an error with SONIC DLA. Before the crash, there was an event n the event viewer:
My last error comes from the Plug and Play Manager:
The device 'MAT**bleep**A DVD-RAM UJ-841S' (IDE\CdRomMAT**bleep**A_DVD-RAM_UJ-841S________________1.60____\5&226f6cf2&0&0.0.0) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.
Hmmm. So things are still vulnerable. Any ideas? Buy new CD drive? Or new computer?

  • I just got a replacement for my broken iPad mini from asurion, and I backed it up. But the problem is, my broken iPad mini has iOS 7 and all my data is in iOS 7 form, and I want to transfer it to the new iPad mini. How would I do it?

I've just received the replacement today, and I restored it from a backup I made back in July when my old iPad didn't have iOS 7. And I've updated the new iPad to iOS 7, but I don't know how to transfer the data I have on my old iPad mini in iOS 7 format into the new already backed up iPad mini. Can someone help me?
