Convert "1D array of dynamic data" to "Dynamic data" after auto-indexing with loop

Hi -
I have a question about how exaclty auto-indexing works with the Dynamic Data type when exiting a while loop. I'd like to use the DAQ assistant to record data through an analog input (on the MyDAQ) and then replay that data through an analog output. This works fine if I use the DAQ Assistant to record data for a set amount of time:
However, I run into trouble when I try to use a While loop with a stop button to record data for an arbitrary amount of time. I set the dynamic data tunnel out of the While loop to "Indexing", but then when it exits the loop, it becomes "1-D Array of Dynamic Data" instead of just "Dynamic Data", and get a broken wire when I try to connect it to the input of the DAQ Assistant. I've also tried converting the dynamic data to Array and Waveform data types inside the loop, but have the same issue (they become 2D Array and 2D Array of Waveform respectively when leaving the loop). Try as I might using blocks like Convert to/from Dynamic Data Type, or Array Subset, I'm unable to get them back down to just Dynamic Data or Waveform, which will be accepted by the DAQ Assistant:
One other small note - I'm not sure if using the "Build Array" function with a shift register accomplishes exactly the same thing as just auto-indexing an array out of the loop - so I've tried both, but still have the broken wire issue.
I'm assuming this is just a simple issue of using the right block to convert "1D Array of [Something]" to just plain [Something]. Any help appreciated.

I have been facing problem for all temperature values placing the Write to Measurement File outside the Loop.
In Error message it says" Source: 1D array of dynamic data and Sink: Dynamic data".
Is there any means of convering 1D array of dynamic data to dynamic data?
I would highly appreciate any help.

Webi Excel Personal Data Provider Dynamic Data

Hello,
We are using BOXI 3.1/SP2. I understand that we can use Excel documents as a personal data provider. I have myself used it to mix data from universe and an excel file from my local machine- using Rich Client.
I am wondering if it's possible for the report to reflect dynamic data. For e.g: Is there a way for the webi report to pick-up any updates in excel sheet automatically or in next scheduled refresh etc?

created from custom data sources like text, excel files and Custom Data
Provider plug-in are supported in Infoview.
Note:
The refresh option is available for Windows operating system only.
To refresh a text or excel file, set the RefreshOnServer registry to the
following values:
RefreshOnServer = NO or Disable to disable refresh on Server.
RefreshOnServer = YES or ENABLE to enable refresh on Server, by
default it is set to YES or Enable.
RefreshOnServer = ALLOW_USE_WINDOWS_SHARE to enable refresh
on Windows server only.
The registry path is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Business
Objects > Suite 12.0 > Default > Web Intelligence > Calculator > PDP.
Before refreshing a document from Infoview make sure that the following
points are taken care:
1. The Custom Data Provider has to be on the BOE server, if it is clustered
then each and every cluster needs to be updated with the same copy of
Custom Data Provider.
Note: You cannot publish excel file to CMS and read from there, its should be
on the BOE server or shared path on file system
2. Incase of a blocker issue and the file cannot be accessed from its original
source location then the file should be placed in the default location for
each server.
The default server path is <Installdir>Business
Objects\PersonalDPFilessymantec, you can change this path by
changing the value of Server_Path in the registry.
3. The Server Intelligence Agent (SIA) should be managed by a user
authentication valid in the network domain. Normally SIA is managed
using local system account; this practice is not recommended when
deploying Custom Data Provider in server.

Can I display XY Graph data as Dynamic Data?

Hi all,
I have an application that treats XY Data, i.e. data with the X axis
gaps not constant (because the trigger is external and it has the
interval not constant), and I would like to use some of the utilities
related to Dynamic Data. I don't know if that's possible but I suspect
that Dynamic Data must have constant X axis gaps. Can anyone confirm
that point? Or the possibility of transforming that data? How could I
do that?

If you already have the data as two separate arrays (an x array, and a y array), then just use the XY Graph and a bundle node to plot it. If you want to use the Dynamic Data type that was introduced in LV 7, then just use the To DDT conversion bullet. You can also use an interpolate routine to "shift" the x values around, but it doesn't sound like you want to do that.

How fit data into dynamic data?

I'm having problems when i want to convert the data that i adquired using VISA to dynamic data. The Dataset consist of one row/column with relative time stamps (elapsed measurement time), and up to 30 channels of data. How do i do this?

You should stay way from using Express VIs. They do you now good. And a beginners very often make a code mess by using them. You will be far better of by using traditional Labview. And not some flimflam that NI have glued ontop of Labview using very cheap glue. If you go to toolbar and help, and select example finder. You can search for examples. Just type in xy in search field and you will find many examples. Then I started using Labview I learned a lot by searching in the example database then I was stuck or in doubt. By the way always have concept help on then using Labview (ctrl+h). This and example finder is your best Labview helpers
Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

How to save the dynamic data from a pressure sensor

Hello Everyone,
We have a FPGA board NI cRIO-9073, a temperature module NI 9217 and a pressure module NI 9203. Right now we have problem with saving the data from pressure sensor. I succeed in getting and saving the data from the temperature sensor. Then I just simply modify the FPGA VI and host VI of the temperature function block which are shown in the attachment files.But I get an error saying I cannot connect two different data types.
Could anyone here give me a help on this?
BTW: we are using a 2 wired pressure sensor with 4~20mA. The brown one is +Vcc and the white one is GND.I connect the white one with the COM of NI 9203 and the brown one is connected to AI7. DidI make a right connection?

Data consists of strings of bytes in the memory area of the program. A string of related bytes is called a field. Each field has an identity (a name) and a data type. All programming languages have a concept that describes how the contents of a field are interpreted according to the data type.
         In the ABAP type concept, fields are called data objects. Each data object is an instance of an abstract data type. Data types in ABAP are not just attributes of fields, but can be defined in their own right. There are separate name spaces for data objects and data types. XML Publisher - Dynamic Data Columns Issue

Hi,
I am creating a amortization report where I need to show the amortization schedule for unearned revenue. Customers have signed different years of contract and I need to show the amount as per their remaining contract months. So if there are 2 month remaining in the contract then I should show the data for 2 months only and if there are 10 months then I should display 10 months. If we run the report for both customers then it should display two lines in report. For first customer the data should be only for 2 months and for second row(customer) there should be data for next 10 months. These months should be columns in the report(like excel columns, not rows). I need to display all months in columns instead of rows.
I have acheived that using Dynamic Data Columns as mentioned in the user guide. Everything is working fine except following issues -
1. How to create page level total?_
I have created page total in my template using <?add-page-total:TOTUREV;'UREV'?> and displaying using <?show-page-total:TOTUREV?> but when I run the report in excel format these page total do not display. These columns are static columns not dynamic.
If I run the report in pdf format then the static column total is displayed correctly.
2. When I run the report in excel format then report run fine and it shows all the columns properly but if I run the report in pdf format then the dynamic column are not displayed in their own columns, all the columns are overwriting each other in a single columns itself, its not expanding.
3. How do I get the total for the dynamic columns?_
I need to display the page level total for the dynamic columns also, how do I do that?
4. When I run the report in excel format the 2 decimal places of the numbers are gone(it works fine in pdf output), like 12.50 becomes 12.5 and 14.00 becomes 14. I need to maintain those 2 decimal places. I have tried using <fo:bidi-override direction="ltr" unicode-bidi="bidi-override"><?format-number:CVALUE;'999999D99'?></fo:bidi-override> but this does not solve my problem completely. It shows the values correctly in excel but then I am not able to do any calculation on those columns, looks like it converts them to text values.
Any help is really appreicated. Please let me know if you need the xml template and data file.

Date Based Dynamic Member Calculation Performance (MTD, YTD, PeriodsToDate)

I'm working on an SSAS 2012 cube and I have defined several dynamic calculations based on a Date (MTD, YTD, TD, Thru Previous Month, etc.).
The cube has a well defined Date dimension and I have set up a DYNAMIC calculated set in the cube as shown below.

... and here is an example of one of my calculations.

This calculation returns the correct results, but performs horribly. I've noticed that changing the [Latest Date] set to STATIC, performance greatly improves, but numbers are no longer accurate as they are based on the Tail of the Claim Payment measure
group without considering the filtered dates. This is because the date is evaluated at process time, but needs to be based on users date selection to be accurate. Therefore, STATIC does not appear to be an option. Is there a better way to
perform this calculation dynamically based on the filtered or unfiltered date dimension?

Typically I would just do YTD/MTD/etc off the date the user has selected. It seems like you want to do it based on the last date with data within the range they have selected. Why not just give the user what they are asking for?
In other words, why not
YTD([Payment Date].[Calendar Date].currentmember)

How to populate data from dynamic drop down list to the text field

I tried to populate data from dynamic drop down list to city field. I would like to concat data from drop down list.When selecting add button to add the item and select item from drop down list, data should be displayed in the text field. However, Please help. I spent alot of time to make it works I am not successful.

Hi Rosalin,
Loop the hidden table, get the values and populate drop down in each iteration.
DropDownList1.addItem("Text","Value");
You can use one more solution for this scenario. If it is a matter of 2,3 dropdowns, put three dropDowns in the form layout and give seperate static data binding to them. At run time make the dropDowns hide/visible as per the requirement.

JSF and dynamic data

This is not a specific question but rather a high level concept that I'm trying to figure out. I have a system that uses a lot of dynamic data that is handled and viewed in the form of Dynabeans as well as SDO data objects.
I'm working on trying to develop reusable web widgets such as input forms based on these objects and thought of JSF right away.
However its seems like JSF will only work with static data models because the beans and bean properties need to be specified at design time in the xml configuration files.
Here it is: Lets say I have a dynamic java bean with dynamic properties that was created from a metadata object. Now I want to develop a single reusable JSF widget that will create an input form using the information from the metadata object and then connect the widget values to the actual dynamic data object.
Seems like in order to do this, the properties of the dynamic data object need to be defined at runtime so that you can classify it as a managed bean so that JSF knows how to bind values from a widget to a bean.
Does anyone have any thoughts?

Look at the description of the default realisation of VariableResolver
You will see in which places it searches for a root object. At least it searches in the request, session and application maps. You can just put your dynamic beans in one of this maps.
At the worst case you can substitute implementation of the VariableResolver in faces-config.xml

Dynamic date variant in selection screen

I have a selection option s_date in my program where I want to use the dyanmic variant with.
it is a date range and for the lower range, I would like to have a static value of 04/01/2010 and for the higher range I want to have last date of the prev month.
I see last date of the prev month in the drop down (F4) Dynamic table, but selecting that is overwriting the s-date-low instead of s_date-high. How can I use the dynamic variant for this ? Can i create my own custom drop downs for these dates?
S_DATE FROM (_04/01/2010_) TO (LAST DATE OF PREV MONTH)

In variant you can specify dates dynamically.
When you save a variant, system ask you enter variant name and Meaning. On the same screen you can specify these dynamic values.
For the parameter/select-option where you want to specify dynamic value, press F4 on 'Selection Variable' column.
Choose type of variable as 'D' (Dynamic date calculation).
Press F4 on 'Name of Variable(Input only using F4) column and select 'Current date +/- ??? days' on next screen.
On input screen enter -1.
Repeat same for To Date' field.

Does anyone have experiences with using JNET within Webdynpro Project ?
In our case, we use JNet to generate a hierachical network diagram in the Webdypro's GUI. The data source is from the tables in a DB. However, till now, we only know how to let JNet generate the network diagram from a static XML file.
Since the data in the DB changes all the time, how to let the network diagram reflect the newest data status automatically? That is, how to bind JNet to a dynamic data source then?

Network UI element is related with Jnet. What you need to start up working with this is you need to create a context structure mentioned below.

You have to place the Jnet test.xml under the mimes folder of your application.
Place the network element in the view and in the data source specify the context attribute source.xml
if your xml file complies with the jnet schema your application will render it.

Business View data foundation with dynamic data connection hangs

We are running Business Objects XI 3.0 with Crystal Reports 2008 and Business View Manager 12.0.0.683. In the Business View Manager tool, when I try to open a data foundation that uses the ACD Dynamic data connection, it hangs with the hourglass icon. I have left it trying to open for at least an hour before killing the Business View Manager with the Windows Task Manager. Data foundations using a static connection open fine as do the elements and views based on the data foundation with the dynamic connection. The static data connections included in the ACD Dynamic connector point back to an Oracle Server. Any ideas how to get the data foundations to open so I can edit our custom business views?

Dynamic date & time on slides

I've seen talk of being able to add a dynamic date and time readout to slides with Quartz Composer, but I haven't been able to find any more information about it. I've got no clue how to use QC, and really haven't had the time to devote to pulling things apart and working with it.
Has anyone seen any tutorials for this specific task that they could point me to? Or has anyone done this themselves and willing to give me some pointers, or at least a starting point?

Sorry...had to sleep. Here's what I did:
Starting with a blank project in Quartz Composer,
Find Tool - System Time, and drag it to the...heh. I've got no terminology. ...to the place where you put stuff together. :-P
Next, grab Tool - Date Formatter. Hook the 'Time' output and input together.
Then I used Generator - Image with string, hooking the string output from the date formatter into the string input.
Last, Renderer - Billboard. Hook 'Image' out put on Image with string to 'Image' input.
At that point, you ought to see a 'ticking' clock in a black rectangle in the viewer window.
Now, some parameters--show the Inspector, and click the Date Formatter. In the drop-down at the top of the Inspector, switch to Settings (or hit cmd-3). By switching 'Date formatting style' and 'Time formatting style' to 'None', you can specify your own string. (I'm using EEEE, MMMM dd h:mm:ss a, for instance.)
In the Settings for Image with String, you can specify font face and size, etc.
Finally, in the Input Parameters (not Settings) for Billboard, you can specify the font color.
The display will be on a black background in the viewer window, but should be transparent when you place the .qtz file on a slide.
Also, remember that the Quartz component will only be 'active' when the presentation's playing. On your slide, it will appear as a static image. (I've found, too, that if you group it with anything else, it 'kills' the component.)
