Statistics business content help

Hi there guys,
So I managed to activate and load the business content for BW Statistics on the back-end.
However, when I load I don't see data for the past few months.  I just inherited this implementation so I7m not sure of the history of the system.  Is there something that has to be turned on or off to enable statistics that may have been deactivated in the past some time?
Also is there something that has to be scheduled nightly for statistics data to remain current or can I just load it manually as needed?  How much history is available in that case?
Also are there separate steps for activating the BC queries and WBs?

Process chains are created in RSPC transaction.
In the help doc he is talking about creating a folder to hold all your BW Statastics Process chains.

    I've been following these steps but perhaps I'm not experienced enough to follow them...can someone give me some more details.  Especially explaining what the steps are doing.
    I recently had a thread answered regarding activating the statistics BC for BW.  I have been reading the following helpful guide but I have some questions.

    1) Does this section here mean that i should just click on the header in question?  What exactly does this option do?  This BW system was created by others so I'm a bit unsure of whats there at this point and I don't want to break whats already there.
    Here’s an important point – if you select only necessary objects only some of the above sections are listed. When you select “Data Flow Before” you may just get cubes/ods/multiprovider plus update and transfer rules, routines communication structures, etc. Some of these objects may be in use by other active content or developers so be careful to select the second column – “Match or copy”. Info area and source system do not transport or install.
    2) Does this mean that I should see roles, workbooks and queries on the right in the picture on page 5?
    f.     If you don’t get what you see above, a second round of content activation may be needed to capture the SAP_BW_TCONT role – which is “Data Flow Afterwards” and includes the role, workbook and queries.

    Helloo,
    Before activating Business content we can group them using one of the grouping options available here.
    a) <b>Only Necessary Objects</b> - you only get what you selected
    b) <b>In Data Flow Before</b> -  you get cubes/ods/multiprovider plus update and transfer rules, routines communication structures, etc
    c) <b>In Data Flow Afterwds</b> - Queries/ Workbooks, Roles, Templates etc..
    d) <b>Data Flow Before and Afterwds</b> - both b) and C)
    You can use any one of the above options. I prefer you to select 'Data Flow Before and Afterwds'. that will collect everything related to BW Stats.
    "Match or Copy" :
    If you dont selectt 'Match X Copy' checkbox when installing Business Content, your existing objects will be overwritten by business content objects.

    The Match indicator is set by default to prevent the customer version being overwritten unintentionally. If the BI Content of the SAP delivery version is to be matched against the active version, you have to set the Install indicator separately.

  • Finding fields in R/3 for data extraction VS Business content

    Hi all,
    I am doing my first BW project after my training and I am finding it difficult to locate some fields that should be part of my report.
    The Consultant says Sales Group, Inco terms, Open orders, Account assignment group, Sold to party, ship to party, Payment terms, Document currency and base currency, Complete deliver indicator, Order type and Count of Complete deliveries required should all be in the Order while transmission type and number of transmissions should be in NAST.
    I have gone to R/3 - RSA6 to look at datasources and found 2LIS_01_S260 (Sales order) to have most of the fields but not payment terms, complete delivery indicator, open orders base currency and count of complete deliveries required. Also in Sales document header data, these fileds are not there.
    Is it a case of not understanding the correct name of the fields if they are described in a different manner in R/3 or I have not done the proper thing? Can I just use an infocube in BW business content to get all the required objetcs -(infocube, infosource, datasource).

    Finding the correct Infoobject and it's mapped field is a job of BIW consultant. But the problem is how to find them and how to frind respective R/3  field and it's table. You will be familar with them as your experience increases.
    So you need to list of fields you require and then find out the Datasource/s which can give these fields by going through the Business content help or using LBWE Tcode in R/3.
    The datasource you mentioned is obsolate one. i.e 2LIS_01_S260  .
    You better to go wtih new DSes like 2LIS_11_VAITM,2LIS_11_V_ITM.

    If allmost all fields are avialable in a DS , then you can check the possibility of enhancing the DS for remaining Fields.

  • New Cubes in Project System Business Content

    Hi
    I am going through the business Content Help. We have standard Cubes like 0PS_C02 for dates 0PS_C04 for Controlling, 0PS_C07 for Claims and so on
    Also I see new cubes 0PS_C021 with different description Dates ( Identification using GUID) and 0PS_C041 FOR Controlling (Identification using GUID) and so on.
    My question is what for these new cubes with Description Identification using GUID.

    Hi Satish,
        I believe the 0PS_C041 , 0PS_C021 are the used when you create projects in R/3 using cProjects or xRPM. When you create a project in cProjects and replicate it, a corresponding project is created in R/3 which is identified by a 24 character String(this is the GUID). And the cubes 0PS_C041, 0PS_C021 in BW.... are used to store such projects information.

    I have read so many answers and papers giving the steps how to transfer,replicate and extract business content, that is all fine and very helpful.  I apologise for very long topic, but I think answers to this would help loads of learners like and everyone would be grateful to you(all).
    But not found a details such as for e.g. for cube 0FIAP_C03
    Question: Does this business content has InfoObjects,ODS, InfoCube and BEx queries are already defined in BW?  Do we need to activate them and start reporting on the queries?
    R/3 Side:
    1. Transfer Data sources 0FI_AP_3(Vendors: Line Items) and 0FI_AP_4(Vendors: Line Items with Delta) from R/3 from RSA5.  Does this mean that the Data sources are created/activated in R/3?
    BW Side:
    2. AWB --> Source Systems --> Select Source System ---> Right click ---> Replicate Data Sources.   When I click on + sign next to the DS, this shows already assigned infosource.  When I click on - sign next to the DS, this asks an infosource to be assigned.  What does the +/- sign means there? What does the 'TICK MARK' means there?
    3. AWB ---> Business Content ---> Install --> Do we get a chance here to activate InfoObjects, Transfer Rules,Update rules, Infocube and BEx query?  Once we install here, then only the cube 0FIAP_C03 is going to appear in InfoProvider and then for BEx query designer?
    4. AWB -
    > Info Sources -
    > My Application Component ---> Assign InfoSource (We already did that in Step2, what does this mean here?) -> Assign Data Source->  Create InfoPackage -

    Answer:Business content has infoobject, ods, infocube, queries in "D" version.
    SAP delivers the BI Content objects in a new D Version.
    Before you can work with BI Content objects, you have to convert them from the SAP delivery version (D version) into the active version (A version).
    R/3 Side:

    Like BI business content. predefined objects in R/3 (datasources ) are maintained in RSA5 and Activated datasources are available in RSA6

    Ans: Once install it it will be available in Active version accroding to the component it has been assigned(SD or CRM). otherwise it will be in Unassigned Node.

    I am New to BI myself, please correct me if im wrong, but i thought that after you replicate metadata on the sap system it will prompt you to pick if you want to create it as 7.0 RSDS, or keep it as 3.x isfs, also an option to creaate one of each.  Please let me know if this helped out so I know if im on the right track.

    Dear Experts,
           I got a requirement to create the new cubes which is a copy of Business content statistics cubes.
    Request you to let me know how can i create a copy cube from Business content cube. My doubt is,weather is't the same as normal customized cube creation  by giving  copy from option.....

    for copying the cube whose copy is to be made should be available in infoprovider tab in modelling of RSA1.
    first you have to install the business content cube ,so that it is found in the Info-providers tab in modelling .
    for that,first go to business content option found in the modelling tab of t-code RSA1 .
    find the cube and transfer it to the right and execute . It will be available in infoprovider tab of modelling .
    then you can create a copy as we do normally .

    We need to provide an estimate to the customer about the below.
    SAP PM/ Customer Service:
    -Sales inquiry and sales contract (Including Billing Plan)
    -Service Notifications and Orders (including Refurbishment)
    -Graphical resource (Personnel/Contractor) allocation
    -Timesheet and Resource Related Billing
    -Service Order related Purchasing
    -Planned/Cyclical Maintenance
    We have to find whether there are any business Content Cubes available for the above?
    Could any one have the idea which Business content cubes can be used for the above and give me some explanation pleaseeeeeee!

    I am still looking out below information , I tried to find the same in help.sap.com but could not identify the cube from business content . can u please help and let me know which could be the cubes or multiprovider from business content .

    1.    Invoices for analysis of actual sales, pricing and special charges (2 standard cubes)
    2.    Analysis of Delivery processing (incl. analysis of distribution costs) (2 standard cubes)
    3.   Sales Orders for analysis of incoming sales orders, open orders, backlog (4 standard cubes)
    4.    Inventory, for analysis of inventory levels, turnover and slow stock (1 standard cube)

       0IC_C03

    Technical content is SAP delivered and is used for monitoring the system activities. The activities related to loading, query executing and other administration activities can be analyzed from the technical content infrastructure. Once you install this and enable objects for statistics, the details of various activities are picked from respective tables and loaded to technical content cubes and ODS's which can be analyzed with the technical content queries.
    For ex: You can analyze the query performace, user accessing that query and compare with previous activity.

  • Error while activating the business content object

    Hi guru,
    We have installed a new BI system, and hence we need to activate all the business content object as they are available in delivery version.
    So as there was an requirement i tryed to activate the business content object ,that is 0mat (MATNR) material number,
    but once done with the installation when i try to find the object and display it
    that is i select the object 0mat , context menu and say display or change it does not show the complete screen as it appears for a characterstic and gives a error
    "_settings for material number conversion not found"_*
    so please help me out what is the problem

    but let me inform you that i already did that as i need to install this object and now the object is showing with green instead of grey,
    Now my problem is that after selecting grouping and collection when i go to infoobject menu under modelling and find out the object 0mat, it shows in green , but as i need to observe the properties of this object like data type , length etc , i select the object 0mat and right click and select display,
    then instead of showing me the object properties screen it gives me the error as mentioned above,
    so as you say it has to be in active versoin , but i can not view the normal screen which appears after creating any object ,
    now i hope my problem is quiet explanatory so please help me.

  • Unable to 'set the default source system' to Install Business Content

    Maars here. This is my first post hoping that in future ones I'll also be lending a helping hand.
    I am trying to 'Install Business Content' under the BUSINESS CONTENT section in txn RSA1. I am doing this after 'Transfer Data Sources' in R/3 and I can now see all the data sources (under the application component hierarchy) for the source system. But I am not able to see the Info Objects in the Business Content.
    When I try to set R/3 as the default source system (got this screen after clicking a icon in the standard tool bar), BW is not saving the settings ie., I set the R/3 as the default and then click on OK. If I go back to the same screen again, I find that my settings were NOT saved.
    Could you please help me out?

    It seems to be a bug in version 3.5.
    Do like this:
    After you open the screen to <i>choose the dafault source system</i>
    Clcik on 3rd button(F6) available in the bottom of the scrreen.
    And then select teh tick mark for required system.
    And then click on Continue button
    You have do this step before you drop the cube to right side of the cube.
    Ok, even after all these steps , if you reopen the screen you would not see Tick mark u have done just before. DONOT WORRY ABT it.
    Drag and drop required cube with dat flow before.
    Now you can see the Transfer rules with selected Source system only in the collected Objects.

  • How to activate the Info object catalog in Business content

    Hi,
      While trying to activate the Info object catalog, I found that some of the info objects under this catalog was earlier activated by some other developer. I brought this catalog (0SALES_CHA01) over to the Business content activation panel ( with only 'necessary object settings ) and all the info objects that also came along  were de-selected since I didn't want to install those again). When I tried to install these I get an error indicating that some of the info object in question are not already active.. and ultimately the catalog doesn’t get activated , although more than half of its infoobjects are already active under the '0CHANOTASSIGNED' node.
    Please let me know whether I can get only the Catalog activated without getting any existing activated info object merged or installing those which are not already activated.

    Hello Arunava,
    Just drag the infoobject catalog as u did earlier to the left in the bus cont installation screen with "only necessary object" option.
    Dont try to deselect any object. Go ahead with the default options and install in background.
    Now you can check for the available objects in the catalog. if you have some objects missing, and available in unassigned node,double click on the newly installed infoobject catalog, select the required objects (which are not yet assigned to this) from the left side and bring them to the right side.
    this will make the unassigned objects assigned to the required catalog.

  • Taking too much time incollecting in business content activation

    I am collecting business content object for activation. I have selected 0fiAA_cha object,while cllecting in the activation but it is taking too much time and then it asks for source
    system authorisation and then throws error maximum run time exceded. i have selected data flow before there.
    What can be the reason for it.
    Please help..

    You should also always try and have the latest BI content patch installed but I don't think this is the problem. It seems that there
    are alot of objects to collect. Under 'grouping' you can select the option 'only necessary objects', please check if you can
    use this option to  install the objects that you need from content.
