Step 3 will take about two weeks...
This foolish old man thought he had better at least try this thing out and now I'm wondering if this was a mistake or not.
I have about 15,000 songs in my library (not a lot compared to some of you, but all the artists I like are dead and not creating more music :>). Steps 1 and 2 finished, well, not exactly quickly but at least reasonably, taking a few hours. Now we're at step 3, with 8376 items to be uploaded. It started last night around 8:30pm on my rather high speed (about second tier of our service) internet and this morning it was at 5202. So it took about 10 hours to upload 5,000 songs -- not great but not horrible, either.
Since 6:30am it has done around 200 more songs in those eight hours. If I extrapolate that I find it will be done sometime before Christmas, assuming we don't experience one of our typical Florida power outages one of these weeks. Is anyone else having this kind of issue? I don't mind waiting another day (or five) but if it slows down exponentially it will never finish, like one of those dreams where you are running towards the door in the distance.
It does have the "Stop" button but there is no information on what happens if I push it. I would *assume* that if something happens at this point and I restart Match it will simply try and upload the remaining songs (because it would have to do something like this if I add more songs to the library) but I'm rather loathe to try (would hate for it to start all over again). Anyone else have this situation? Or anyone else at least try stopping the process and then starting over again?
Overall my impression is rather poor so far...(LOL)
I've decided I'm giving up on this thing -- I've requested a refund.
It's a mess and after some consideration I'm not even sure it has any value (or very little). Perhaps for folks who pirate a lot of music it would be good (since they could get better copies) but as nearly all my music is ripped at 320 I'm not really gaining any benefits. Plus it has made the operations of iTunes on my PC (sorry, Mac folks) really really flaky and sluggish, even when it's not actively matching (I'm going to see if I can find an older copy of iTunes to reinstall).
I did try syncing a bit of music to my iPad and wasn't impressed -- even on fast wi-fi it was snail slow compared to USB transfer. And much, MUCH more difficult to manage -- so I'm sure I'm missing the point somewhere.
Even if I don't get my money back I'm not using this thing until they get the bugs worked out (if ever). Heck, I'm so old I may not be alive then.

I have been using my Ipad for about two weeks. All of a sudden I cannot access Mail any longer. Cannot get to it through Preferences either to effect settings. Any help?
You might want to check your process for moving your iTunes music against this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4527.

After updating my iPad my camera does not operate correctly. It will take about 5 photos then lockup. It also becomes very sensitive when I try to zoom in, it changes to "video or square". I have to turn off for awhile then it repeats the same malfunction, just lockup again.

About two weeks ago, it would randomly shut off. It would restart fine, but shut off sooner. Sometimes, it wouldn't even restart. Now, it's at the point where when I power it on, it rarely restarts past the white apple start-up screen.
Backup in case your disk is failing.
Start up in Safe Mode; http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204?viewlocale=en_US
If it boots reliably in Safe Mode then it is probably a software issue.
Reset PRAM: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH4405
Boot in Recovery Mode. (Hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys as your computer restarts.) Run Disk Utility. Click on the upper left system disk icon. Does S.M.A.R.T. report “Verified”? If not the disk is failing and will need to be replaced. Click on the icon underneath and indented to the right, usually called “Macintosh HD”. Repair Disk. It should finish normally with a green OK message. If it does not try to repair it again.
If it will not finish with the green OK message then use Disk Utility to erase the drive and then reinstall OS X. (Be sure you have a backup before erasing the disk. Post back if you need instructions on how to do that.)
If it repaired all errors and is still not booting normally, reinstall OS X.
If it is still sick after all these steps then the disk probably needs to be replaced. You can do that inexpensively and fairly easily yourself or take it to an Apple store for them to do it for you at a higher cost. If it is still under warranty or AppleCare have Apple do it for you for free. Post back if you need instructions on replacing the disk. You may want to have Apple check the health of the system and disk before replacing it yourself.

I sent in my iPod nano to the replacement program about two weeks back. However, I checked the status of the repair and it still says it has not been received yet. However, my boyfriend sent in his the same time I did and his repair status says repair being diagnosed. I still have the "receipt" of the package when they first sent it to me. I sent it via FedEx. Is there any way to follow up on where the nano could be or maybe find out if I can still get a replacement even though my nano might be lost in transit?
I sent it via FedEx.
Call FedEx. They will be able to track their own packages. They will let you know if your iPod Nano was delivered and to who! -
Time Capsule error 22 - My time capsule was working fine and didn't notice anything wrong with it until it stopped backing up about two weeks ago. I never changed anything like computer names or the Airport settings. All I get is the following:
The backup disk image "/Volumes/Data/Linda's Computer 1.sparsebundle" could not be created (error 22).
I tried resetting the Time Capsule and connecting with an ethernet cable, although the Ariport Utility says everything is working fine through WiFi.If the light will not turn on the TC is dead. No matter that the hard disk is running.. it should only run at start up or when it is accessed not constantly.. that means the board in the TC has failed. Apple do not repair them.. They will replace it under warranty or applecare.
If you have gone over the 12month warranty it will still be covered if you have applecare on any computer or an Apple TV. In fact the cost of the apple TV plus apple care is still cheaper than buying a new TC.. so it is a route some people are taking.. certainly depends.. in some places like Europe or Australia now, there is a recognition that statutory warranty must be longer on a product that is premium to the market. 12months is not good enough. Apple will sometimes listen.
They might be fixable but I do not know how. -
I allowed Apple updates about two weeks ago and now Safari is way too slow. I have tried using Airport and Ethernet and the problem is the same. Yesterday, I upgraded to Safari 5.1 and now the problem is worse. Any solutions?
I can't stand peremptory affirmations like "Nothing is wrong with Safari".
Thousands of users can't be wrong (see the discussions).
If I read you the right way, it's never software' fault, it's the user who's the culprit.
Amazing!
In this very case, the fact is we can't give to "christinefromfonthill" a good solution because weren't sitting in front of her Mac.
You give her a good advice which could, perhaps, lead to an improvement.
But must also admit that Safari is a very slow browser compared to Firefox or Chrome.
And you can't ignore all the problems which arose when upgrading to Lion and were related to the new build and specs of Safari 5.1.
The best example is the apparition of "garbage type" (use of Last Resort font) when reading numerous sites. This never occured before and is the direct consequence of Safari compliance to Web Open Type. This standard prohibits the use of Type 1 Postscript Fonts and is the reason why so many people are in trouble.
I use a Mac for more than 25 years.
I am a very "clean" user who hates the bells and whistles of third party.
My Mac is always up-to-date and despite all my Mac loving care, I run into some problems.
Imagine the nightmare which can occurs for the vulgum pecus who isn't, by definition, a power user aware of all the requirements for running a System in optimal conditions.
May be Safari is one step in advance on its time but lambda users are paying the price for it. -
Not all of my emails show up in my iphone account. Only about two weeks worth - how can I access all of my inbox emails? I have hotmail and am not sure if this is a sync glitch or what...?
How are you accessing the "7 days" account: IMAP or POP?
Are there other computers accessing the same account? -
I am running my first backup on Time Machine using a Seagate external hard drive with a thunderbolt adapter and cable. I have a MacBook Pro 2011. It is backing up 11GB, and is telling me it will take approx two days. Is this normal?

For about two weeks now I have not been getting my new email notifications, The only way that I can retrieve them is to go into the mail app and get them manualy.
My question is; Is there anyone else having this same problem?

"yahoo is my email provider"
Judging by the number of other threads on this, yes many people have been having Yahoo mail issues with push, and it appears to be on Yahoo's side, not Apple's. -
My macbook crashed about two weeks ago and I had icloud already set up. How do I go about retrieving the music and images? Please, help me. I had over 10gb of music on that computer and the only place it was backup was icloud. Thanks.
I hate to say this, but unless you are paying the 25 bucks you cannot back up your library to the cloud.
All you can do is back up the items you "purchased" from Apple.
iTunes Match
For $24.99/year you’ll get access to all your iTunesmusic including tunes you ripped from CDs or “borrowed” from anonymous friends. It scans your library to see if the song exists in iTunes’ 18 million song catalog and if it does it’ll stream it to you at 256 kbps. If your song is not in iTunes then it’ll be uploaded to iCloud at whatever rate it is on your device where it can be streamed for your listening pleasure. I cannot find any information on how to restore a library, however
Best of luck -
I just. Bought an iPad air 2 about two weeks ago. Was working great then it froze on me shut off and won't turn on now?
A reset may help. Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off buttons for approximately 15-20 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears, release both buttons.
No content is affected by this procedure. -
My install of OS X Mountain Lion says it will take about 29 hours, what should I do?
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Probably, OS X Mountain Lion is being downloaded now. Normally, that time decreases quickly when the download progresses, so just wait until the OS X Mountain Lion download finishes and the Mountain Lion installation will start -
I've been busy with school, thus making me have no time at all to use my iPad. Being the forgetful me, I can't remember my password. I tried entering some of the passwords I used but none of them worked. I forgot the recent password I've been using in my iPad. Now it's been disabled for more than two weeks. I want to use it so badly that I have to reboot it numerous times. What should I do?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
