Step for Result recording & usage decision
Hi ,
I have done the result recording for an inspection lot. the inspection type is IN-Process Inspection for which I have eb=ven taked thew UD. Now my doubt is how to do the inspection for GRfor production. i.e Inspection type 04.
Please explain.

Hello Vivek,
The in process inspection '03' is ususally created when releasing the production order and is designed for inspections made during the manufacturing process.
The inspection type 04 can be triggered at two different time points:
either at release of the production order 'early 04 inspection'
or at GR from Production 'late 04 inspection'.
If you want to work with both 03 and 04 you have to use the late 04 inspection type, this offers you the follwing advantages:
You don't have to eventually correct the inspection lot size, and you avoid that there two parallel inspections.
The 04 inspection lot is designed for post production (final production) inspections and is stock relevant as opposed to the 03 inspection type that is not stock relevant.

Record usages decision- inspection lot stock
hi gurus,
when i am using a record usages decision screen (QA11) after putting my inspection lot number it show me only two tabs Defects and charterstics it didn't show me an inspection lot stock tab.

I believe that your PO is for cost center.
when you will recieve the material using MIGO for This PO, then matieal stock/Value will be posted to Consumtion Account ( Stck will not posted to store) and GR/IR for Vendor.
In this case if Inpection lot generated, then using QA11/QA32 you can records quality information in Result & UD.
In this case Transfer posting 321/105 for material will not take place.you can input quality inforamation only.

Go to QA02 and give the Inspection Lot no and press enter.
In the new screen, select the tab "Inspection Specification/Task" and in that press the "Task List" button. Then you will receive a msg that Inspection Plan is attached to Inspection Lot.
You can go to the "Sampling" tab and click the "Sample" Button if you want to assign a sampling procedure & plan.
After that press save.
If no Inspection Plan is found,
1. Inspection Plan is not available. Check in QP03 for the material/plant combination the availability of plan. If not available, create it using QP01.
2. The date of creation of Plan is later that date of creation of Inspection Lot. In this case, in QA02 give the key date as before the date of creation of plan.
Now the status becomes REL.
Next, you can do the Result Recording (from QA32 screen or use QE51N)
Once all results are entered and saved, the status become INSP.
Now, do the Usage Decision (QA32 / QA11) and here give the acceptace code and post the stock into Unrestricted stock

Serial Numbers in QA11 Record Usage Decision
Hi all,
We are using the serial numbers scenario in goods receipt. The user has to enter the serial numbers of the equipment/devices at the time of preparing goods receipt in MIGO_GR against a purchase order. An Inspection Lot is generated after posting the goods receipt. The has to prepare the GR approx 5000 nos. of material in each goods receipt.
Usage Decision has to be recorded for all these 5000 serial numbers in a particular inspection lot. Once we run the Tcode : QA11 and enter the quantity to be posted to blocked stock as 5000 and click on the save icon.
The system throw a screen for selection of serial numbers for which the usage decision is to be recorded. On this screen, all the 5000 serial numbers entered in the inspection lot should be available for selection. But the system sometimes shown only 5, sometimes it shows 2500, sometimes 1000 nos. for selection.
Please suggest if this might be due to some configuration problem or due to constraint of memory in the lock table in SM12. We are facing the same problem while processing the goods receipt for 5000 nos. through a BAPI.

Thanks for your immediate response. You have perfectly understood my problem. The following are the clarifications for your queries :-
Point No. 01 : We are posting the entire quantity (5000 nos.) to blocked stock. We enter 5000 in the To Blocked Stock field of Inspection Lot quantity Tab of the Inspection Lot. After entering the quantity we click on the Save button to post the Usage Decision. A pop of the serial numbers for select is given after clicking on the Save button. The serial number pop up is given if we try to process the usage decision for full quantity of 5000 nos. But sometimes if we put a smaller quantity say 20 nos. then the popup is not given and the usage decision is successfully posted for 20 nos. So the system behaves very randomly.
Point No. 02 : The serial numbers displayed for the selection is also random say sometimes 13/5000, 2500/5000, 0/5000.
Point No. 03 : I have checked the SER03 and OBJK tables and all the 5000 serial numbers are allocated to the material document.
We already have escalated to SAP, but do you feel there is some configuration issue for the same. Please give your valuable suggest.

I am learning an QM Module , actually after good reciept i go to QA11 then i find one line item in defect tab , and after that when i puting an usages decision code (willing to put reject) it show an pop up status check error
Please also suggest me what the steps we are takin in qm after record usages decision (QA11)

Exits for Results recording and UD
Hi,
I added few Zfields in QA01 screen using exit QPL10004 and they are not mandatory in create mode.
now my requirement is when from QA32 user selects that lot and click on UD or Results recording.
system should throw error message if Zfields are not maintained in QA01.
What are the exits that trigger ???

Status profile for Result recording & UD
Hi
I am using a status profile for restricting the UD (QM_L_004)without result recording. The stages are INIT and QFIN with the required settings.
But users even after doing result recoding are getting an error while choosing the UD code. The error is Close Inspection - Complete. I have maintained this status on QFIN as ALLOWED and SET. I checked for authorisation (SU53) and found that it is giving for Object category QL1 for status profile ( QM_L_004).
I request you all to please give me the details on this object category. Where it is linked & also should i extend the other object category QL2, QL3 and what will be its effects.
we have issue of people not attaching MICs in inspection plan and giving only UD. I want to address this issue also

Suppose status no. for 1st one is 10 and for next one is 20. so for 1st one you put lowest and highest value 10 to 10. same way for secone one put 20 to 20.
Now initially 10 is active now for second status put set when RR staus has acieved. In the same prohibit UD. Means select that button in which it does not allowed. This setting is only for status no. 10.
Now setting for second status press set button wheen RR done. So it will get activated when RR done. Now in this select UD allowed radio button.
Do this way, it will work.

QM-result recording after doing usage dcision and stock posting.

My client is steel manufacturing industry.The requirement of client is that, after doing usage decision and stock posting they want to do result recording.Thy want it like this because in case of urgency they pass the material and afterward they do the result recording.Is such a scenario is possible in standard sap.If yes pls. provide me the solution.

1) not a good quality practice
2) you would still have to manually to the UD I believe, auto UD won't work. So if you have to manually process the lot anyway, you may as well just make the sotck posting and leave the lot open for results recording.

User Exits for QE11 Results Recording
Hi Experts,
I'm having the scenario for results recording as follows.
I'm using variant configuration, while creation of sales order user will enter the configuration i.e. Manfacturing range. Based on the manfacturing range system will calculate the remaining parameters like burst pressure maximum and minimum based on the dependencies we written.
While doing the results recording, the system is giving error if out of the range values entered.
But here, if suppose Manfacturing Range = -5% range
Then the Burst pressure Maximum = 15 psig
Burst Pressure Minimum = 12.5 psig
For this range, they have some calculation while doing results recording.
For this range +/- 2 % will be allowed i.e.
Burst Pressure Maximum = 15.3 psig
Burst Pressure Minimum = 12.25 psig
This range will be applicable in Quality Department.
So, while doing the results recording system has to give the error out of this range means.
For this is there any User Exit or Enhancement is available or not.
Please help me.

I think you can use the multiple specification for the mareal function to meet this.
Step1 : Quality Management -> Basic Settings -> Maintain Settings at Client Level
Inspection Specification -> Multiple Specifications check box to be flagged.
Step 2: Quality Management ->Quality Planning -> Inspection Planning ->General -> Multiple Specification->
Define Object Types for Multiple Specifications e.g.Manufacturing range
Step3 : Quality Management -> Quality Planning > Inspection Planning > General > Multiple Specifications
> Define Objects for Multiple Specifications e.g. 5%, 10% etc
Step 4 : Activate Multiple spec Quality Management > Quality Inspection > Inspection Lot Creation > Define Default Values for Inspection Type
Step 5 : flag Multiple spec check box in material master inspection set up
Step 6 : In quality plan header data click on multiple specification
step 7 : Assign the material to the task list
Step 8 > Enter the depedent characteristics for the specification -
CRTD CHCR SPRQ-how to do result recording for that lot.

i did GRN,lot is created with this status-CRTD CHCR SPRQ
i tried for Result recording but error is showing.
Then came to know QP01 is not assigned for that material.
then i created the QP01,but still i am not able to to Result Recording to that Lot.
is any way to do that.without cancell the lot can we do.

Your lot is at created status so you need to relesed lot. May be insection plan /task list has not been assigned to lot.
In Qa32 go in inspection lot Change ( Or T code -QA02 ) .where in tab Inspection specification tab click on task list/speci where you can assign plan theri ( You can assign plan with usage that you have created plan )
Save transaction.
refresh QA32 then try result.

as earlier I told you in QA02 tasl inspec tab in usage field select same usage by which you have created inspection plan.in QP01.

Three Physical Samples withdraw from inspection lot 04 and then result record for all three
Dear Gurus,
We have 3 quality labs and each lab is sent a separate samples to inspect certain characteristics once we receive material from production. I have created an inspection plan and mapped these three labs as work center in operation and then assigned MICs under each operation to inspect.
Now my issue is how to map separate 3 samples to inspection lot generated from production ( type-4) and also how to configure that to inspection plan.
I have to result record for all these three physical sample as withdrawn from Lot based upon inspection plan as mentioned above.
I can mention sample drawing procedure in inspection plan but how to map actual sample there.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You are creating three operation for depicting three testing Labs.
Against each lab (operation) you had assigned MICs as per your requirement.
Now you have to assign a SDP along with inspection point type 200 for physical sample in task list.
After prod confirmation system will create inspection lot along with a sample by default for 1st operation.
For other operations you have to create samples manually referring the same inspection lot (QPR6).Remember to click ' Create Insp points' and mention operation.
Release the samples in QPR4.
Now when you go for result recording system would ask first for operation, so select the operation , then system will ask for insp point (sample no).There click on assign insp point , so system will provide the Sample no which were created in QPR6 for that particular operation.
Please follow the steps and revert.

For in process inspection lot i have 3 operation for testing my requirment is if i goning for result recording for second operation without result recording for first operation system should restrict me. we are using 100 inspection point for inprocess inspection please suggest how can we do this?
