Still no phone

I'm still waiting to get help.  This is my second post here.  So far nothing is being done.  I'm really thinking of changing providers.  I'm the only one in the neighborhood without service and I am on oxygen.  Worst service I have ever had.

  • 2 months in still no phone!!!

I ordered my phone line on the 28th for march and paid a years line rental up front got an activation date of the 7th april perfect i thought.
7th april arrived got a phone call from openrech to say they were on there way. 1 hour later the engineer turns round and says sorry cant connect your phone line because the pole is unsafe to climb and he needed to go back to the exchance to phone someone and he would phone back before 4pm. 4pm came and went no phone call.
Next day i phone bt they tell me that it would be done by Monday the 11th april well the 11th april came and went i phoned bt they said that they were waiting on special equipment to connect me and it would be done the fallowing day.
next day still no phone line phoned bt they say that they need a cherry picker to get up the pole will call back with an update to this day iam waiting on that phone call.
14th april i call them they tell me that the pole is getting replaced i asked when would that be the answer i got was i dont know iam not an engineer!!!
15th april i get a knock on the door openreach surveyer about the pole he asks a few questions about what the engineers did and left i phone bt later on that day they say that there is a tree and a fence need removing waiting on permission to cut them down. i asked what would happen if we didnt get the permission i was dont you dont get your phone line.
Its now the 19th april i phoned up to see whats going on with it i was told that i need to go and get the permission from the land owner to cut down the tree and i would need to cut it down my self asked to speak to a manager was told that managers only do call backs it would be within the next 24 hours.
20th april  waited all day for a call back from a manager phoned up asked what happened about my call back they just wait that the manager could not deal with this so thats why i never got a call back!!! But now Bt are saying that they have no record of any of my phone calls now.
21st april called bt they r now saying that i have to wait until 26th april for an update on the bright side i no long need to cut that tree down bt r going to do that.
26th april Phoned bt because i was told that they would have an update on the situation for me today. Phoned them and they didnt have an update for me and told me to wait 2 - 3 days and they would have an update dont beleve them tho!!!
Well its now end of may
i have been in touch with a man from bt called bob webster fantastic guy really got the ball moving but phone was supposed to be all connected up on 20th of may engineer calls to do the job but cant do it cos the pole is still unsafe due to the tree not being cut so i phone bobs office the same day and was told that the person that owns the tree is away on holiday for a week and does not want the tree cutting until she gets back but no one told me that or openreach
bt called my mobile and said that i had to call them when the tree work had been done even tho they were arranging this as its not my tree
    Total unter discrace!!!

I suggest that you go back to your comms provider and get them to contact BT Openreach to chase this.

  • Moved into New Build in August - still no phone li...

I know from reading various forums online that ours is not a unique problem but I'm not sure how it can be resolved. In a nutshell we moved into our new build home at the beginning of August. Once we had received confirmation of the completion date I placed my order with BT for a new phone line. I was advised that it would probably be easier to sort out the phone first and then add on broad band when that was done. My order was placed on 31 July. I was told an engineer would attend on 20 August to connect us up. So far so simple but then it all goes wrong. I check online and the engineer should be with me between 8 and 1. That's all fine. I'm working but my husband will be in as he is on a late shift. Come 12.30 no sign of the engineer and now my husband is concerned that if the engineer does show up, he will need to leave for work before the work is done. I call BT from work - I'm told that the engineer is en route but that he's been delayed. My husband and I therefore agree that I will leave work at lunchtime and be in should the engineer arrive in the afternoon. I call up again in the afternoon - I'm told that there is no engineer en route, I should never have been told that. The connection is delayed because of some outstanding works that need to be done. Thus begins the series of lies and untruths that lead us here. I am told time and time again that works will be done by X date, only to receive a text message telling me that it is not possible to provide the update and that BT will contact me again in due course. Then begins the passing of blame - BT tell me that my developer hasn't completed all the ground works, my developer tells me they have and that it is Open Reach who are delaying. This goes on for many weeks and many phone calls. Eventually I'm told that there is to be a meeting between my site manager and Open Reach on the site on Monday 28 October. Surprise surprise Open Reach fail to attend. Not only that, but they they refuse to reschedule despite requests from the site manager. There is clearly a communication issue here - my developer tells me they have done all they need to do. They are therefore not going to do anything else as they don't know what they need to do. The meeting would at least (one hopes) have cleared that up. I have called BT today and been told that a site surveyor is attending our site on Friday but it seems no one has bothered to tell the site manager (obviously I have passed this on and asked him to call to check arrangements).
So here we are many weeks on and still no phone line. I don't feel like I am getting any sort of proper answer from BT about what the issue is and of course Open Reach won't deal with me direct.
Given the number of discussions about this on various forums, does anyone have any advice or tips on how to resolve this. I know it seems like a small issue but it is starting to impact on us. For example we had some bad news in August that required making numerous overseas calls which we had to make on our mobiles. It really is beyond a joke now and I cannot see that it will be resolved this year!

  • FaceTime on your computer can you still receive phone calls to an iPhone under the same ID

if you FaceTime on your computer can you still receive phone calls to an iPhone under the same ID

You can do this on the phone and the iPad. Settings>FaceTime>iPhone Cellular Calls>Off.

  • I bought a iPhone 4 from USA in $749. As I did not take a data plan, still the phone is locked, now when apple is selling unlocked phone and I have paid the dull amount, will they unlock my phone

I bought a iPhone 4 from USA in $749. i did not take a data plan, still the phone is locked, now when apple is selling unlocked phone and I have paid the full  amount, will they unlock my phone

AT&T has not as of yet announced any plans to unlock an iPhone that was purchased as locked to them. Whether or not they will do so in the future, only AT&T would know, and they probably will not say unless and until they're ready to make an official announcement.  There is nothing Apple can do for you in this matter unless you are still within the timeframe for returning the iPhone.
    Regards.

  • My iphone won't work after fatal error occurred installing iOS5.1 have followed allsteps to reconfigure software onto windows still no phone just a usb and itunes picture on screen

my iphone won't work after fatal error occurred installing iOS5.1 have followed allsteps to reconfigure software onto windows still no phone just a usb and itunes picture on screen

Connect the phone directly to the computer, not a hub.
Disconnect all other USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
    Disable your firewall
    Disable your antivirus
In iTunes if it recognizes the phone click "Restore"
If it doesn't recognize the phone:
Disconnect the phone from the phone end, leave the USB cable plugged into the computer
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen turns black, excactly 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP but continue holding the HOME (If an Apple logo appears you have held SLEEP too long; do it over)
While holding HOME connect the cable to the phone
As soon as iTunes recognizes the phone release the HOME button and it should restore.
If neither procedure works note the exact error message and post it.

    Hello there stidhambr15,
I was researching the issue you are having and recommend a couple of things. First it might be a good idea to reset the device following iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting found here http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't quite get the device going again, I recommend restoring the device.
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software

Might even be a good idea to turn off the phone, reseat the SIM card, and turn it back on.

  • HT201270 I have followed the instructions provided in this article but none of them worked. I even tried getting a new sim, still my phone network goes no service most of the time. There is no apple store in Philippines and I feel so helpless.

I live in the Philippines but my iPhone 4S was bought from Korea. There is no Apple store in my place and no one can help me fix my problem with my iPhone. I don't think Apple would replace my phone either despite the fact that it's still under warranty.
My phone would normally go on "No Service" status since I updated to iOS 5.1, so I am not able to make/receive phone calls/messages most of the time. It's really frustrating especially because my iPhone is just 3 months old.
Can anyone help me with my problem?
    - I have restored my iPhone's OS and didn't do any back up
    - Did reset network, reset all settings, among other resets available in my phone
    - Used a new sim card from my network provider
    - Used sim card from other network provider (since my phone is factory unlocked)
All the abovementioned didn't work and I'm getting really frustrated.I never had this problem when I was using iPhone 4.
    Help me, please.

Sounds like it's hardware issue. The iPhone warranty is based in the original country of purchase. Since it was bought in Korea you will need to ship the phone to someone you know in Korea to be taken in and then they will have to ship it back to you. The cost of shipping will be at your expense.

  • IPhone 5, backup on computer is password protected, forgot password, still have phone, just want to reset the password so i can create a new backup!

    I have an iPhone 5.
At some point, I backed it up to my PC, with a password.
    I have forgotten the password.
    I still have the phone.
I can no longer back it up to the PC.
I want to wipe the backup, password, etc, and start again.
    Surely that can't be impossible!

Thanks both - do you think it's worth giving this a shot?

Once iTunes is set to encrypt iPhone backups, switching this feature off requires the password. What if the password is forgotten or unknown? You can still reset iTunes to make a fresh backup without encryption. Follow these steps to uncheck Encrypt iPhone backup:
Perform these steps at your own risk!
    1. Delete any Mail Exchange accounts on the iPhone.
    2. Delete old encrypted backups from iTunes.
    3. Use iExplorer or ssh to delete the file /private/var/Keychains/Keychain-2.db from the iOS filesystem. Note: this step will clear stored passwords from your device.
    4. Restart the iPhone.
    5. Connect the iPhone to your computer and open iTunes.
    6. Uncheck the box next to Encrypt iPhone backup.
    7. If prompted for a password, enter the passcode currently set on your iPhone.
When successful, iTunes should begin backing up the iPhone to an unencrypted backup. If this does not happen, start a new unencrypted backup manually.

  • Deleted ringtones still on phone

I recently deleted a few ringtones from my iTunes library and from my computer. When I went to sync my tones the ringtones I deleted are still there on my phone. I tried checking and unchecking ringtones and re-syncing but nothing is working.
I have an iPhone 4 and it is updated to iOS5.1.1.

If you don't want to go through the whole restoring process, I think I've found a simpiler way to delete your tones from your library. While your iPhone is attached, go to the homepage of your itunes library in "Albums" view. Looks like this:
-Then, in the left hand corner, tap the "Music" tab.
-The drop down menu will fall down, and then you will select the "Tones" button.
-And from that screen you will be able to delete, rename, & customize your tones anyway you like! =]
    Hopefully this helps!!

  • 6 Weeks and still no phone line............Home Mo...

I recently moved home and used BT's home move service and thats where it all went wrong!!!
I moved less than 1 mile and the addresses are on the same exchange, so how come i am now approaching 6 weeks and BT still have not connected my line???
    12/01/2013
Contacted BT gave them all the details and was told "yes you can keep your existing number but we are busy so it will be the 05/02/2013 before we get you connected" Well thats 3 weeks but OK.
    05/02/2013
I take the day off workand wait patiently for the engineer to arrive (1pm - 6pm it said) so when it got to 3pm i phoned BT just to check all was OK, the lady says yes sir he will be with you today!!!!!   Well 6pm came and went and and i contacted BT at 6:30pm and was passed around a bit but eventually spoke to a guy who says " ah there is a problem with the survey and no engineer was coming today" ARRRRR why did you not contact me and let me know rather than costing me £200 by taking the day off!!!!
    06/02/2013
So i was asked to phone the next day at 9am so i did and was told "Its OK sir there was a problem at the exchange (now nothing to do with a survey apparently!!) your line will be connected today by 12pm"  Great i thought.
Well 12pm came and went just like 6pm did the day before and guess what still no line!!!
    07/02/2013
Now very annoyed and tired, I Phone again, and for the forth time the story has changed again, now there is a broken cable 1km long which has to be fixed although both my neighbours have cables coming from the same pole which are working fine!!
It is now going to be 05/03/2013!!!!!!!!!   a staggering 7 weeks to connected one line no wonder openreach are behind!
although i am expecting more lies and confusion when this date looms.......
To top it all off yesterday Warren Buckley sends me a letter saying he hopes my move is going well and how BT can get me connected without delay........
Mr Buckley you are a liar sir!!

  • How to easily mute all sounds but still use phone?

For the life of me, why doesn't the volume control on the side of the iPhone go down all the way to mute like the iPad does.  There is no one convenient place to go to turn off sounds while in a meeting but yet still use the phone without turning it off.  Turning it off is not an option for a lot of people.

  • Headphones in, but still receiving phone calls through external speakers?

For whatever reason, although my headphones are in the iPhone 5's headphone jack, I still hear the sound of phone calls through the phone's external speakers. That seems to be the only problem, however. All other sounds go through the headphone. But again to clarify: When the headphones are plugged in and I recieve a phone call, the sound of my ringtone comes through BOTH the iPhone external speakers AND the headset. I want it to come through ONLY the headphones when they are plugged in. Thanks for the help!

What you are seeing is the expected behavior. The ringtone always plays through the phone speaker unless the phone is muted (slider button over the volume buttons).
