StillColor Averaging Count inconsistent on PCI1408

I am not convinced that the image sequences seen in either labview low level snap or in MAX 'grab' are consistently accepting configuration of the stillcolor averaging count parameter. When it works properly (which is rarely), I can manually change the focus on my camera during the acquisition, and watch for the delayed response as the averaged image slowly catches up to my changes. But most of the time it does not. If I change the parameter value, and try the experiment again, I often see no averaging at all, and the apparent acquisition rate (measured by snap-to-snap time difference) does not change with my change in parameter value.
If anyone has some experience with this situation, I would appreciate if you could o
ffer a clue as how to (1) verify the actual averaging count during acquisition, or (2) ensure a camera interface is reset to the new value.
(using latest driver, as of today, and LV6.1)

Hi. I've used StillColor a few times, but I've never seen the behavior you're describing here. As an acquisition algorithm, StillColor drifted to the background as soon as the 1411 (the analog color frame grabber) was released. In fact, I don't think it's even been mentioned in the NI catalog for the last few years.
With that said, if anyone on this forum is experience with StillColor, please chime in.

  • Re : Get Average count of previous 3 Years

    Hello All,
Hope all is well. I have this query , where I am counting the numbers of items sold based on 4 dimensions and then in the next column now client wants the average count of previous 3 years items sold.
The query results look like this ,
    Year Office item_type count_items_Curr_Year count_items_pre_3yrs
My current simple SQL looks like ,
    select Year, Office, item_type,count(item_id)
    from Years,
    Offices,
    Item_types
    group by Year, Office, item_type
Could someone help me create query for to calculate the average count of previous 3 years items sold.
    For example,
    Year-----Office-----item_type-----count_items_Curr_Year-----count_items_pre_3yrs
    2000-----ABC------Jewellery-------100------------------------------------95(Avg. count of 1999,1998,1997)
    2001-----ABC------Sports-------250------------------------------------260(Avg. count of 2000,1999,1998)
    2002-----XYZ------Sports-------350------------------------------------288(Avg. count of 2001,2000,1999)
    2003-----FCD------Auto-------500------------------------------------387(Avg. count of 2002,2001,2000)
    and so on......
I hope I am clear on this . Please let me know if I have missed on something.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sam

You could do this using analytic functions, something like -
    (untested) -
select year, office, item_type, cnt, avg(cnt) over (order by justyear desc range 3 preceding)
    from
select to_char(year,'YYYY') justyear, Year, Office, item_type,count(item_id) cnt
    from Years,
    Offices,
    Item_types
group by Year, Office, item_type, to_char(year,'YYYY')
left justyear out of the group by

  • Resmgr: waiting in end wait average count

This morning our users experienced a severe slowdown when attempting to perform any function involving our 9.2.0.5 production database. Even the ability to login was subject to extraordinary waits. Examination of Instance Wait Events Analysis, recorded by the Enterprise Manager Capacity Planner, showed an extraordinary spike in the entry "resmgr: waiting in end wait average count." The count recorded was more than 400% greater than the count we typically see. This abberation also corresponds timewise to the slowdown we experienced. After about 25 minutes, the problem disappeared as suddenly as it happened, and the count returned to normal.
What is this "resmgr: waiting in end wait average count?" What should I be looking at to determine the cause of the sudden increase in the count from a typical peak count of 4000 - 5000 to over 18,000? Thanks in advance for your help.
    Regards. . .

Check your resource plan. The ACTIVE_SESS_POOL_P1 is probably set to a value that is too low. If you run over the amount of sessions allowed, new sessions have to wait. If you are using connection pooling, it can snowball pretty fast.

    hi guys ,
can any one help me with the following problem .
I want to use count function in business rules for the validation of entity objects .
I am new to ADF BC .
and i am not understanding what are the appropriate accessor and attribute for the validation for "COUNT" operation.
    regards

you have to use collection validator.. for that..
click the entity.. go to business rules tab... select entity validator.. then you will find collection validator..

  • Feature Request: Microsoft Excel 2013 - Don't hide status bar text on focus lost (AVERAGE, COUNT, SUM)

Could you please disable hiding of status bar text on focus lost.
I use this in Excel 2013, where I select a few cells, then move to another Excel to write the sum of those cells as read from the status bar or to check with other values in the second window. This really makes my life easier and I see no reason to hide
the status bar text when the window looses focus.

  • Rolling averages/sums for counts

I am a new user (business objects 12 relaease 2)
I would like to build a report in web intelligence displaying the average count of the number of records per day, where the average is calculated for a rolling window of days.
For example a rolling daily average count of records using a 3 day window would be caluculated by:
Summing the counts of records for the last three days and dividing by 3
I would like to include this rolling average in a table for a specified of time period, say the last 30 days. My table would have two rows the top row would be the date and would hgave 30 entries, inbe for each of  the previous 30 days, The scond row would have the 3 day rolling average for each of the 30 days. This table format will also allow me to graph the table
An additional problem arises becasue there are some dates that have no data. I need to include those dates, but Web Intelligence won't display them. Is there a way of displaying dates with no values in the table?

    John Berezowski,
In response to your question: "An additional problem arises becasue there are some dates that have no data. I need to include those dates, but Web Intelligence won't display them. Is there a way of displaying dates with no values in the table?"
The solution is to build a "backend table" in your data base that has all of the applicable dates accounted for.  Then modify your universe by linking this new table to your pre-existing table and process as a left outer join (providing that this new table is on the "left" side, otherwise a full outer join will suffice due to the manner that you've built your table).
A technique you can apply to the other columns used in your original table would be the use of the "coalesce" function to avoid nulls and transform unjoined values to spaces (or zero or some other value for integers).
    thanks,
    John

  • Load Cycle Count over 7500 in just 5 days on new DV4 series notebook

    Hi,
I'm really concerned about my new laptop i bought just a week ago (dv4-4172); it happens that the disk is making a lot of noise just like the infamous 'clicking sound of death' and reporting up to now, more than 7500 load cycles in just 5 days of operation and also, 2 errors in the CRC of the UDMA. Since my hard disk (Hitachi HTS547564A9E384 640.1 GB) was behaving like that i ran several test on the disk (HP's BIOS run-tests, HDD Tune, smartctl (short and the long one), etc.) but i'm not getting a single read-write error, that is, the system hasn't any functional/operational problem, yet. Furthermore, my disk's lifespan is 600000 load cycles and i'm getting about 1500 in just a day, you don't even need a calculator to realize the harddisk won't last more than 1.5 years. The constant clicking of the disk is also getting on my nerves too .
The question here is, is it normal for this hard disk to have an average count of 1500 load/unload in a day (i.e. 1 cycle every minute) or is my disk the only one with suicidal attitudes?. My last notebook's harddisk (Seagate) didn't get more than 100k cycles in 2 years of operation, that's why i'm concerned...
Naturally, hdparm solves the issue, but (partially or permanently) disabling my harddisk's APM is even more suicidal than my disk's actual attitude, and by the way, you need some technical skillset to change those values (I'm a linux sysadmin, so i knew how to solve that specific issue), why is the default configuration set as this? or is HP expecting every single user to know how to modify the APM or, if you don't, to have a seat while watching your hard disk self destruction take place.
    Thanks in advance.
    - melvin
FYI, the problem is agnostic of which operating system i use, even in the POST stage the harddisk starts with that annoying clicking (and its corresponding cycle count increased), and yeah, i've updated all my drivers and followed every suggestion hp support assistant gave to me, like the nice guy i am.
    This question was solved.

    Hello uncle_sam,
You’re having a problem with the hard drive.
The drive is not supposed to be making any noise.
Since the unit is still new I’d call HP and have them send you a new HDD.
Here is a link to the phone number.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!
Let me know how everything goes.

  • AVERAGE on crosstable with NULLs

    Hi,
I try to set average function on column in crosstable. Data contains NULLs. I got error during displaing report in HTML format (in Interactive format it's ok) - "oracle.xdo.XDOException: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException".
Oracle support says Publisher is not working with NULLs in crosstable - but in Interactive View it's ok (almost - I see NaN instead of empty/NULL value).
This simple query and some data:
    SELECT
    'Group' || ROUND((LEVEL+1)/4) "GROUP",
    'Row' || LEVEL "ROW",
    TRUNC(CURRENT_DATE) "DATE",
    LEVEL VALUE1,
    CASE WHEN mod(LEVEL,2) = 0 THEN LEVEL+LEVEL ELSE CAST(NULL AS NUMBER) END VALUE2
    FROM DUAL CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 9;
    GROUP | ROW | DATE | VALUE1 | VALUE2
    Group1 | Row1 | 2011-08-02 | 1 |
    Group1 | Row2 | 2011-08-02 | 2 | 4
    Group1 | Row3 | 2011-08-02 | 3 |
    Group1 | Row4 | 2011-08-02 | 4 | 8
In pure SQL i get correct result:
    SELECT "GROUP",
    AVG(VALUE1),
    AVG(VALUE2)
    FROM (
              SELECT 'Group' || ROUND((LEVEL+1)/4) "GROUP",
                   'Row' || LEVEL "ROW",
                   TRUNC(CURRENT_DATE) "DATE",
                   LEVEL VALUE1,
                   CASE WHEN mod(LEVEL,2) = 0 THEN LEVEL+LEVEL ELSE CAST(NULL AS NUMBER) END VALUE2
FROM DUAL CONNECT BY LEVEL <= 9
    GROUP BY "GROUP"

A step is a dimension, which represents date.
User is prompted to choose possible period from such:
25 months with step of 6 months
13 months with step of 1 month
1 day with step of 1 hour
I have a special view in DB, which calculates each step, e.g. for period "1 month with step 1 day":
    Name              StartDate           EndDate                 Step                    Number
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-12            IM1000000
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-13            IM1000001
    1 month         2014-06-11         2014-07-11          2014-06-13            IM1000002
So what I am doing, is calculating Count of Number ForEach step.
Then I add field Resolution Code from another table, and thus I get my chart.
Basically, what I need to have as trend line is Average Count for Each Step despite Resolution Code.
Hope, this makes my issue clearer.
P.S. =Average(Count(Number) foreach([Step])) in Report isn't helping, the issue is the same.

  • PS Count - not displaying whole number in results.

    Hi,
I'm having trouble with the results display format from the following command:
    Get-Childitem $server -Recurse | where { -not $_.PSIsContainer } | group Extension -NoElement | sort count -desc
    Where my results are:
    Count Name

      938 .db
      870 .eml
      587 .bmp
      518 .msg
How do I get the full number of .tif and .JPG, instead of ...60.tif & ...43.JPG?
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Regards
    Tim

    Hi Tim,
You can try this below modified cmdlet:
    Get-Childitem $server -Recurse | where { -not $_.PSIsContainer } | group Extension -NoElement | sort count -desc | ft * -Autosize
    Get-Childitem $server -Recurse | where { -not $_.PSIsContainer } | group Extension -NoElement | sort-object -Property Count -desc | Format-Table -Property Name,Count -AutoSize
    Have you tried
    Measure-Object.
get-process | measure-object -property workingset -minimum -maximum -average -count
What exactly are you trying to do here, what is your input \ source.

  • Recordset is not updateable in Access 2010 but works in previous versions

I have a database that writes data from SQL tables to unbound controls on an unbound form. This database has been in place for years and has worked great. We recently just upgraded to 2010 and now I' m receiving an error message saying that the recordset
is not updateable. This is the same exact code and settings and everything else that has worked in 2007.
I know there are other posts on here that addressed this but none of the recommendations have solved my problem. I've tried changing the forms to dynaset(inconsistent updates), etc. and nothing.
The actual SQL is all in VBA where it's running the SQL commands against SQL Server and writing the data to the unbound fields and then also writing it back to the tables. As I said, this has been in place for a number of years and has always worked great
but I just can't put any rhyme to reason why it's not working in 2010.

    Hi,
Based on my research, here’s the information about this error message:
A recordset is never updateable when:
It is based on a Crosstab query.
It is based on a Union Query.
It is an Aggregate Query that calculates a sum, average, count or other type of total on the values in a field.
It is an Update Query that references a field in the Update To row from either a crosstab query, select query, or subquery that contains totals or aggregate functions
Note: By using a domain aggregate function in the Update To row of an update query, you can reference fields from either a crosstab query, select query, or subquery that contains totals or aggregate functions.
It is based on a Query that includes a linked ODBC table with no unique index.
The database was opened as read-only or is located on a read-only drive.
It is a SQL pass-through query.
It is a query whose UniqueValues property is set to Yes. (That is, it is a query with a DISTINCT predicate.)
Cartesian Joins(that is, a query that includes more than one table or query, and the tables or queries aren't joined by a join line in Design view.)
Query based on three or more tables in which there is a many-to-one-to-many relationship.
Note: Though you can't update the data in the query directly, you can update the data in a form or data access page based on the query if the form's RecordsetType property is set to Dynaset (Inconsistent Updates).
Calculated fields. Even if the query itself is updateable, if a column in a query is based on a formula, the field cannot be updated. However, if the other fields in the formula are updated, the calculated field
    will automatically update.
Recordsets Are Updateable Under Certain Conditions
    1. Query based on a Join of tables with no Relationship.
Problem: If a query is based on two or more tables that DO NOT have a relationship established (with Referential Integrity enabled), the query will be non-updateable.
Solution: Create a Primary Key or Unique Index on ALL of the fields used in the Join on the "one-side" table. To be clear, this means ONE primary key or unique index based on all of the fields, not separate indexes
    on each field.
In a query based on a Join of tables with a one-to-many relationship (1:M), you might not be able to edit the data in one or more fields. As the following examples show :
    2. Join field from the "one" side.
Problem: If you have a 1:M relationship created between two tables, you cannot change the primary key field (used in the Join) of the table on the "one" side of the relationship.
Solution: Enable cascading updates between the two tables.
    3. New records, if the "many" side join field doesn't appear in the datasheet
Problem: In a query based on a 1:M relationship, you can create a new record and fill in the fields that come from the "one" side table, but if the join field from the "many" side table is not visible in the
query (that is, the foreign key), you cannot add data to the "many" side fields.
Solution: Add the join field from the "many" side table (ie, foreign key) to your query to allow adding new records.
    4. New records on the "one" side that are duplicates of other "one" side records.
Problem: When adding a new record, if you try to type into the "one" side fields, you will be attempting to create a new record. Even if you use the same primary key values, it will give you an error.
Solution: Add a value to the "many" side join field (foreign key) that matches the "one" side join field (primary      key) of an already existing record. The "one" side values will simply
    appear.
    5. Join field from the "many" side, after you've updated data on the "one" side
Problem: If you are currently editing fields from the  "one" side of the relationship, you cannot change the "many" side join field (foreign key).
Solution: Save the record; then you'll be able to make changes to the "many" side join field.
    6. New records, if entire unique key of ODBC table isn't output
Problem: This is different than #5 under Never Updateable. In this case, the primary key of the linked ODBC table exists, but is not added to the query.
Solution: Select all primary key fields of ODBC tables to allow inserts into them.
    7. Query does not have Update Data permissions
Problem: Query (or underlying table) for which Update Data permission isn't granted.
Solution: To modify data, permissions must be assigned.
    8. Query does not have Delete Data Permissions
Problem: Query (or underlying table) for which Delete Data permission isn't granted
Solution: To delete data, permissions must be assigned.

Please can someone help me out?

Also, the strange thing is that if I monitor the Datasource (that has a 100 conn. capacity) I see that it is not overloaded:

  • Total - Sum of a function

    Hi All,
The following is a test I performed in order to check a problem I got.
I created a simple function in Oracle which receives a number and returns it divided by 2. (NUM/2). I registered this function in Discoverer Administrator and then created a simple report with only one column: A calculated column, calling for this formula with the value of 1000. As expected, the returned value was 500. But when I tried to use Total->Sum of this column, it failed. All the other options (Average, Count...) worked, except the sum.
As I mentioned in the beginning, this is just a test for my real situation.
Any ideas how it can be solved?

    Hi
Other than the neat workaround suggested by Russ, if my memory serves me right that issue was fixed in the final release for 4.1 - 4.1.48
The patch to upgrade Discoverer 4.1 Admin and Desktop is 3201601, while for Plus and Viewer the patch is 3201610. These patches will upgrade you to 4.1.48.06. If you are using E-Business Suite the patch you need is 3451636 which is the upgrade to 4.1.48.08.
All of these patches are still available for download on Metalink.
For further information on the latest patches please look on my blog here: http://learndiscoverer.blogspot.com/2006/09/releases-and-patch-numbers-september.html
I'll be updating this again very soon with the latest information for other releases but for 4.1 my posting is accurate.
    Best wishes
    Michael
