Stock coverage 2

hi all,
in relation to my previous post, i need to know the sufficient stock coverage relevant matter.
1) stock coverage only happen on moving average price material?
2) need advice on below scenario.
initial stock value 1000usd , stock qty 100pc, map 10usd
new order of 100pc @ 10usd
before miro, issue inventory out of 160pc
so during miro
stock qty is 40pc, value is 400usd and map is 10usd.
the balance of 60pc or 600usd will go to prd.
correct?
thanks

Answer for Question 1:
Stock coverage is only applicable to material with moving average price control. Unplanned cost are directly posted to price difference account in Material with Standard price Control irrespective of the stock level in the system
Answer for Question 2:
Initial Stock Quantity: 100 PC  Intial Stock Value: 1000 USD  Moving Avearge Price: 10 USD
Ordered Quantity: 100 PC at the rate of 10 USD/PC
Accounting entry duing Goods Receipt:
Stock Account: 1000 USD
GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
total Stock in the plant = 100 (inital ) + 100 (Recent GR) = 200 PC
total stcok value = 1000 (iniital) + 1000 (Recent GR) = 1000 USD
Moving Average Price = 2000/200 = 10 USD/PC
160 Pieces has been issued
Stock in the Plant: 40 PC Only
Accouting entry during Invoice Posing:
Assumption 1: You are posting invoice for 100 PC of material at 10 USD/PC. No difference in PO price and Invoice Price
GR/IR Clearing  Account: 1000 USD
Vendor Sub-leger Account: 1000 USD
Assumption 2: You are posing invoice for 100 PC of material at 11 USD/PC. PO price is 10 USD/PC. In this case stock coverage comes into picture
GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
Vendor Subledge Account: 1100 USD
STock Account: 40 USD (because only 40 PC are available in the stock)
Price Difference Account: 60 USD
Assumption 2: You are posing invoice for 100 PC of material at 9 USD/PC. PO price is 10 USD/PC. In this case stock coverage comes into picture
GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
Vendor Subledge Account: 9 USD
STock Account: 40 USD (because only 40 PC are available in the stock)
Price Difference Account: 60 USD

  • Stock coverage, Stock average coverage and stock turnover

    Hi Guys,
    I need your help.
I have just implemented the Inventory Management module in BW. It is working perfecly.
Now my client want me to calculate Stock coverage, Stock average coverage and stock turnover.
The standard module doesn't give me that.
As this may be a normal requirement in Industrial businesses, do you know a intelligent way to calculate this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Dear João;
In here we use the stock coverage in report like this: the Quantity of Total Stock (0TOTALSTCK) divided by the Quantity of Goods Issued.
This one is a Calculated Key Figure based on all the GI types relevant defined by the customer.
We also use the Stock average coverage but by quarters: Quantity of total stock / (Qty GI from that quarter (example first quarter 3)  / 3).
Sorry... we don't use stock turnover.
    Hope it helps;
    Regards;

  • Enough stock coverage

    hi,
for item purchased based on moving average price,
when there is a variance between migo and miro, it will debit or credit stock account and update map of material accordingly if enough stock coverage is there.
1 may i know what does it mean by enough stock coverage? means at least there is 1 quantity in the total stock in mm03 when purchase? can have example?
2 if 0 quantity in the total stock what will happen?
    thanks

    hi Hari,
    thanks and point given.
    1) enough stock coverage is only happening during MIRO? will MIGO happen?
    2) can clarify this if the meaning of enough stock coverage is correct.
    item is moving average price.
say this is a new purchase or maybe item with 0 stock in warehouse.
now i purchase 10 unit at the price of $1. the total value is $10
during MIGO, the map will change when debit the inventory.
    DR inventory 10
    CR grc 10
    so now the
    map 1
    total stock 10 = 10
    total value $10
when MIRO, somehow due to some reason stock only 2 and map is 1.20.
    map 1.10
    total stock 2
    total value $2.20
may i know how is the accounting entry and the map, total stock, total value would be after MIRO?
    thanks

  • Stock Coverage Calculation

    Hello
I would like to know if an essbase function calculation to calculate month stock coverage exists in Essbase ?
I know this type of function on other system:  SAP (SNP) but nothing in Essbase in my knowledge
    COVER_CALC()
COVER_CALC(rows for stock on hand ; area for demand from the next period to the end of the time period ; area containing the number of workdays ; demand from the next period to the end of the time period) returns the days’ supply of a product by considering the current stock on hand, the total demand of subsequent time periods, and the number of workdays in this time period.
    For example:
    Time span  w11  w12  w13  m04  m05
    Total demand:  0  20,0  0  25,0  27,5
    Stock level  68,7  48,7  48,7  23,7  0
    Days’ supply  70  63  57  26  0
    Workdays  7  7  7  30  31
Result at the end of m04:
    Total demand is 23.7
Total demand in the future is 27.5
Total number of work days in the next period is 31.
    Thus, (23.7/27.5) x 31  ~ 26 (only 26 days can be covered)
    Using the above value (26)
    for w12: Days’ supply is 63 = 7 (from w13) + 30 (from m04) + 26 (from m05).
    for w11: Days’ supply is 70 = 7 (from w12) + 30 (from m13) + 26 (from m04) + 26 (from m05).
    THanks of your help
    Regards

There is no built-in function to do this calculation, although since you have the logic defined (and can see that it's fairly straightforward) you can build it yourself.  I added "Days of Supply" to a sales analysis system I maintain recently.

  • MD07 ( collective MD04 ) and stock coverage in days

    Hello,
in MD07, for each material of my plant there are 3 columns concerning stock coverage.
I do not understand how the calculation of these stock coverage is done ( I have found the customization which indicates that inbound deliveries are taken in consideration ).
Is there some documentation abour this for a dummy SAP man ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Romeo.

    There are three columns:
1 - Coverage based only in available stock
2 and 3 : Coverage based on different receipts elements. It is advisable to customize the # 2 using some fixed (i.e. almost confirmed) receipts, such as process production orders, purchase orders, etc.  and #3 adding the rest of elements, so you can have three differents coverages, #1 is critical, if all receipt fail then I have to cover my requirements using stock only, and so on.
Tipically the sequence would be, for this criteria,
    Coverage 1 < Coverage 2 < Coverage 3

  • Calculating Stock Coverage

We have  arpeort that outputs the number of days stock coverage for a particular material.  This is calcualted using the FM BAPI_MATERIAL_STOCK_REQ_LIST.  However this BAPI includes Q stock in the calculation, and we want to exclude it.
Has anyone got any ideas on how I mght get to the number of days excluding Q stock from the calculation?

    Hello Satwik,
Iam also developing reports for Coverage Days of Inventory. Could you let me know,

  • Insufficient trading stock coverage

    Hi,
I would like to clarify the calculation for the trading stock that out of coverage.
When GR, unit price $2 , quantity 100 and total value is $200.
    Dr stock  200
    Cr grc     200
    1)
During invoice time, the quantity now only have 40 and total value is $80.
So when IR, how is the accounting entry as sufficient coverage only 80 and 120 should go to price difference?
    2) after IR, in MM03, the total quantity and value is both 0. correct?
    thanks

    Hi,
I don't think so, according to your mention, the stock quantity still is 40 and stock value is $80 also. Because the GR price is equal to IR price, system doesn't adjust the stock account, that's to say:
    Do GR:
    Dr: Stock account $200
    Cr: GR/IR account $200
    Do IR:
    Dr: GR/IR account $200
    Cr: Vendor account $200
If the GR and IR price are not equal, the result is different.
    Good day

  • Stock Coverage profile with more tha 100 days (dynamic Safety Stock)

    Hello,
My customer is using dynamic safety stock using coverage profiles up to 95 days.
Now a new requierment emerged which states that they need to extend the coverage to 100, 120 and 150 days of safety stock.
I looked into the config buy as far  as I understand it, I can only configurate up to 99 days of coverage in each period!
Anyone had has this requierment form their Customers before and how did they resolve it?
    Thanks for any clue.
    Bye
    Aart

Not in front of system, working from memory here...
In OMIA, there must be a field called No. of periods (or something like that) maintain a value 2 there & for no. of days in a given period maintain 50. This should address the need for 100 days, likewise you can workout for the remaining.
Do a test with the above in your sandbox & let me know if you face any specific issues.

  • Stock coverage

    hi,
for purchase item base on moving average price.
during MIGO, the item is $15 per unit for purchase of 10 unit.
    map $15
    total stock 10
    total value $150
during MIRO, the stock only remained 2 unit, each $15.50
    map $15.50
    total stock 2
    total value $31
    1) so when i post MIRO, the double entry will be no change if IR and GR both same value even stock only 2 unit. correct?
    DR grc 150
    CR vendor 150
    2) lf the invoice price is changed to $20 each, how the double entry will be?
    DR grc 150
    CR vendor 200
    DR ??
    thanks

    2) lf the invoice price is changed to $20 each, how the double entry will be?
    DR grc 150
    CR vendor 200
    DR stock account 50
The MAP will be changed accordingly:
    map $15.50 --> 81/2=40.5
total stock 2 --> no change
    total value $31 --> 81
Why not you do a test in system and let us know the result?

  • Safety stock coverage by Planned order

    Dear all,
when I set the static safety stock for material w/o any other requirement in the MD04 and run MRP, system will generate Planned order to cover the safety stock. Safety stock availability for MRP is set to 0 (that´s correct in this case)
It´s expected by my customer, when there are no requirements (reservations, sales orders etc.) system will not generate any Planned order even if there is a "shortage" caused by the safety stock.
Does anybody have an experience with this?
    Example in MD04:
    Stock 100
    Safety stock -101
    Available stock -1.
    No requirement.
=> System should not create any Planned order.
    Thanks for answers.
    Regards,
    Martin Valcik

    Hi,
You may try by defining safety stock availabilty ( in terms %) for a plant + Mrp group in IMG setting.
menu path for ur reference :
    Material Requirement Planning
       |_ Planning
             |_ MRP Calculation
                      |_ Stocks
                              |_  Define Safety Stock Availability
Here you define the percentage of the safety stock to be available for planning. This function is used to avoid a situation where order proposals are created unnecessarily by the system to cover small shortage quantities.
    Hope this is useful,
    Regards

  • MM Account determination with valuated/non valuated sales order stock!

    Hi All,
I have been trying to set up MM account determination in our project for sales order assigned POs.What I have observed is that when I have a PO with sales order assignment and according to requirement class (coming through reqt type) in sales order it is valuated sales order stock then in the PO we get the stock account determined through BSX key. But when it is non valuated sales order stock we get a different account assigned through GBB-VKA key. In both the cases the account assignment category in the PO is "E".
Can someone please explain what is the connection between valuated/non valuated sales order stock and MM account determination and if what is happening is right from account determination point of view?
    Regards,
    V S

    These are two different postings:
    BSX: stock posting
GBB: Offsetting entry for stock posting
    Stock posting (BSX)
This transaction is used for all postings to stock accounts. Such
    postings are effected, for example:
    -   In inventory management in the case of goods receipts to own
stock and goods issues from own stock
    -   In invoice verification, if price differences occur in
connection with incoming invoices for materials valuated at
moving average price and there is adequate stock coverage
    -   In order settlement, if the order is assigned to a material with
moving average price and the actual costs at the time of
settlement vary from the actual costs at the time of goods
        receipt
Offsetting entry for stock posting (GBB)
Offsetting entries for stock postings are used in Inventory
Management. They are dependent on the account grouping to which each
movement type is assigned. The following account groupings are
    defined in the standard system:
    -   VKA:     for sales order account assignment
(for example, for individual purchase order)

  • ME27 Stock Transport Order

    Hi gurús,
we have one problem with the Stock Transport Order.
During creation of Stock Transport Order, many deliveries are generated. This occurs, because system takes the information of the materials masters record: Planned delivery time (MRP II view) and calculate different delivery dates.
Checking the customizing I thought that the option is customers not to consider time of reprovisioning in the check of availability.
Spro => Materials Management => Purchasing => Purchase Order => Set up Stock Transport Order => Define Checking Rule.
This not this option working, since with or without tilde it generates several deliveries.
    Any suggestins?
    Reggarts.

    Hi,
Do you have MRP active in supplying plant?if so are you converting the requirements into procurement (either internally or externally)
May be due to the non availability of the material on perticular delivery date system is providing you number if deliveries.?Does the differrant deliveries created are ready to get delivered on that perticular delivery date or are they wil differrant dates.
Does your material is batch managed?if so some tmes , sysem creates differrant deliveries based upon the availability of batch stock in the suppplying storage location.
also please check one single storage location is having suffient stock coverage to cater in a single delivery.

  • Variance in MIRO can not post to stock account (price control:MAP)

    Hi, all
As I know, if there is variance between PO price and INVOICE, the variant value will be posted to the stock account, if material with Moving Average Price.
But when I test this process in my system(4.6C), the variance was posted to a variance account(by TE: DIF), the stock quantity is not less than the Invoice quantity.
    Why this happen?
Does this is some bug in my system???
Thanks very much for your help.
    Shafiat.G

    Hello
For a material valuated at a moving average price, the price difference is posted to the stock account, provided there is sufficient stock coverage for the quantity invoiced. If sufficient stock coverage is not available, only the amount for the available quantity is posted to the stock account; the remaining amount is posted to a revenue or expense account.

  • Dynamic safty stock

for dynamic safety stock calculation, system is calculating avg daily req based on PIR maintained in MD61.
I want system should calculate avg daily req based on consumption data.
    How to configure this?
    Thanks
    a prasad

I think you are looking into two different angle of safety stock.
If you want the past consumption data to calculate the safety stock, try using MRP type SS - MRP with safety stock planning.  You have to create forecasting view in material master, and run forecast program periodically (MP30 or MP38).  The program will update the safety stock for you in material master.
If you use dynamic safety stock (coverage profile), then it will calculate requirement based on future demand.  It is calculated average requirement based on PIR, dependent requirements, stock transfer requests, sales order, etc.
So consider which one you want to use.

  • Automatic Safety Stock

    Hi Experts,
Currently MRP type is PD & Planning is make to order for finished goods.
I have requirement, wanted system to calculate safety stock automatically based on consumption value for Raw material.
Material should be further Planned in the same way, But if stock falls below safety stock , it creates a Purchase requistion.
System should calculate the safety stock rather than Manually entered.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vivek Kumar

    Hi Robert,
I don't know whether this will suffice your requirements, but actually it sounds like "Dynamic Range of Coverage".
It is like you want to keep the stock of certain materials as safety stock (coverage of requirements in exigencies) for certain number of days, weeks etc.
For example, one material has got average consumption (depenedent on main requirement of parent materials) requirements of 50 pc. per day and you want to keep a supply of 3 days in hand to cover unforeseen reqmnts, then based on this consumption pattern system will automatically calculate 50 * 3 = 150 pc. extra as safety stock, often called Dynamic Safety Stock.
As & when the main requirements change for parent materials, the depenedent requirement also changes, and hence the dynamic safety stock. For example, if the demand has increased such that average consumption per day comes out to be 80 pc., then calculation of safety stock will be 80 * 3 = 240 pc. extra (as you always want to cover 3 days requirements).
If this is your requirement, then try configuring this feature by creating suitable profiles for Range of coverage (depending on certain groups of materials, like for some you want to get coverage for 2 days, some for 5 days, some for 1 day and so on). And assign the suitable profile to corresponding material master. This will work with normal PD type of MRP without any tweaking.
Reply whether it worked for you.
