Enough stock coverage

hi,
for item purchased based on moving average price,
when there is a variance between migo and miro, it will debit or credit stock account and update map of material accordingly if enough stock coverage is there.
1 may i know what does it mean by enough stock coverage? means at least there is 1 quantity in the total stock in mm03 when purchase? can have example?
2 if 0 quantity in the total stock what will happen?
thanks

hi Hari,
thanks and point given.
1) enough stock coverage is only happening during MIRO? will MIGO happen?
2) can clarify this if the meaning of enough stock coverage is correct.
item is moving average price.
say this is a new purchase or maybe item with 0 stock in warehouse.
now i purchase 10 unit at the price of $1. the total value is $10
during MIGO, the map will change when debit the inventory.
DR inventory 10
CR grc 10
so now the
map 1
total stock 10 = 10
total value $10
when MIRO, somehow due to some reason stock only 2 and map is 1.20.
map 1.10
total stock 2
total value $2.20
may i know how is the accounting entry and the map, total stock, total value would be after MIRO?
thanks

  • Stock coverage, Stock average coverage and stock turnover

    Hi Guys,
    I need your help.
I have just implemented the Inventory Management module in BW. It is working perfecly.
Now my client want me to calculate Stock coverage, Stock average coverage and stock turnover.
The standard module doesn't give me that.
As this may be a normal requirement in Industrial businesses, do you know a intelligent way to calculate this?
    Thanks in advance,

    Dear João;
In here we use the stock coverage in report like this: the Quantity of Total Stock (0TOTALSTCK) divided by the Quantity of Goods Issued.
This one is a Calculated Key Figure based on all the GI types relevant defined by the customer.
We also use the Stock average coverage but by quarters: Quantity of total stock / (Qty GI from that quarter (example first quarter 3)  / 3).
Sorry... we don't use stock turnover.
    Hope it helps;
    Regards;

  • Negative Qty has genereted in 914 even though I've enough stock is available

    Hi Every Body,
When I confirm the Production Order, system has generating the negative stock in 914 even though I've enough stock.
Scenario :- I've total 100 qty in my bin out of 100, I've set 20 qty as Blocked qty. when confirm the PO with 50 qty system generates the negative stock which I don't want to happen,  My question is why system is creating negative qty even though I've enough qty(80) to consume.
    Please help me...
    // Nagesh

    Hello Nageswararao,
If you wanted to confirm from a particular bin, then you need to do following setting.
    1 Enable WM-PP Interface active.
2 Update all your production Order item level - Supply Area & Storage Location.
3 Create Control Cycles using LPK1/LPK2/LPK3 for the Supply Area/Material/Plant Combination.
    4 Enable back-flush in BOM/Material level
In your case, you have missed the control cycles. Control Cycle is the one which supplies the Production Bin from where the stock needs to be consumed. Hope, This is should solve your problem.
In future, any WM related questions, please do post in Logistics General(Previously Warehouse Management) Forum.
    Regards,

  • Not allow to create delivery note if not enough stock

    Hi
is it possilbe not allow to create delivery note if not enough stock? how can i do it
    thanks

In case of partial delivery, it allows creation of delivery and PGI only for the quantity of the material which is available in unrestricted stock.
If it is complete delivery and if the stock is not available, it tells you the log saying that only X quantities of delivery is possible and it will ask you to enter the quantity you want to deliver. But as ur sales doc is marked for complete delivery, delivery wont be possible for this.
In nutshell, if you want to deliver the quantity which is more than the available quantity in stock, delivery creation wont be possible.(Tested and confirmed)
    Rwd if this helps

  • If there is no enough stock, backflush still could do it?

    Hi experts
Now we do production order confirmation or backflush, even though there is no enough stock ,it just give warning , but we still could continue do it. and when we have mateirals on hand, we will go to COGI to reporcess it.
Is that possble if there is no stock ,SAP could stop to do confirmation or backflush? Could this setup on plant level?
    THanks
    Alice

    Hi Alice,
You can have whatever option you require --
Termination for incorrect movement - if there is no stock, then backflushing is not possible
Warning / information for incorrect goods movement - here, it is possible to continue and you correct it later with COGI

  • Stock Coverage Calculation

    Hello
I would like to know if an essbase function calculation to calculate month stock coverage exists in Essbase ?
I know this type of function on other system:  SAP (SNP) but nothing in Essbase in my knowledge
    COVER_CALC()
COVER_CALC(rows for stock on hand ; area for demand from the next period to the end of the time period ; area containing the number of workdays ; demand from the next period to the end of the time period) returns the days’ supply of a product by considering the current stock on hand, the total demand of subsequent time periods, and the number of workdays in this time period.
    For example:
    Time span  w11  w12  w13  m04  m05
    Total demand:  0  20,0  0  25,0  27,5
    Stock level  68,7  48,7  48,7  23,7  0
    Days’ supply  70  63  57  26  0
    Workdays  7  7  7  30  31
Result at the end of m04:
    Total demand is 23.7
Total demand in the future is 27.5
Total number of work days in the next period is 31.
    Thus, (23.7/27.5) x 31  ~ 26 (only 26 days can be covered)
    Using the above value (26)
    for w12: Days’ supply is 63 = 7 (from w13) + 30 (from m04) + 26 (from m05).
    for w11: Days’ supply is 70 = 7 (from w12) + 30 (from m13) + 26 (from m04) + 26 (from m05).
    THanks of your help
    Regards

There is no built-in function to do this calculation, although since you have the logic defined (and can see that it's fairly straightforward) you can build it yourself.  I added "Days of Supply" to a sales analysis system I maintain recently.

  • Stock coverage 2

    hi all,
in relation to my previous post, i need to know the sufficient stock coverage relevant matter.
    1) stock coverage only happen on moving average price material?
    2) need advice on below scenario.
initial stock value 1000usd , stock qty 100pc, map 10usd
    new order of 100pc @ 10usd
before miro, issue inventory out of 160pc
    so during miro
stock qty is 40pc, value is 400usd and map is 10usd.
the balance of 60pc or 600usd will go to prd.
    correct?
    thanks

    Answer for Question 1:
Stock coverage is only applicable to material with moving average price control. Unplanned cost are directly posted to price difference account in Material with Standard price Control irrespective of the stock level in the system
    Answer for Question 2:
Initial Stock Quantity: 100 PC  Intial Stock Value: 1000 USD  Moving Avearge Price: 10 USD
Ordered Quantity: 100 PC at the rate of 10 USD/PC
    Accounting entry duing Goods Receipt:
    Stock Account: 1000 USD
    GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
    total Stock in the plant = 100 (inital ) + 100 (Recent GR) = 200 PC
    total stcok value = 1000 (iniital) + 1000 (Recent GR) = 1000 USD
    Moving Average Price = 2000/200 = 10 USD/PC
    160 Pieces has been issued
Stock in the Plant: 40 PC Only
    Accouting entry during Invoice Posing:
Assumption 1: You are posting invoice for 100 PC of material at 10 USD/PC. No difference in PO price and Invoice Price
    GR/IR Clearing  Account: 1000 USD
    Vendor Sub-leger Account: 1000 USD
Assumption 2: You are posing invoice for 100 PC of material at 11 USD/PC. PO price is 10 USD/PC. In this case stock coverage comes into picture
    GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
    Vendor Subledge Account: 1100 USD
STock Account: 40 USD (because only 40 PC are available in the stock)
    Price Difference Account: 60 USD
Assumption 2: You are posing invoice for 100 PC of material at 9 USD/PC. PO price is 10 USD/PC. In this case stock coverage comes into picture
    GR/IR Clearing Account: 1000 USD
    Vendor Subledge Account: 9 USD
STock Account: 40 USD (because only 40 PC are available in the stock)
    Price Difference Account: 60 USD

  • MD07 ( collective MD04 ) and stock coverage in days

    Hello,
in MD07, for each material of my plant there are 3 columns concerning stock coverage.
I do not understand how the calculation of these stock coverage is done ( I have found the customization which indicates that inbound deliveries are taken in consideration ).
Is there some documentation abour this for a dummy SAP man ?
    Thanks a lot.
    Romeo.

    There are three columns:
1 - Coverage based only in available stock
2 and 3 : Coverage based on different receipts elements. It is advisable to customize the # 2 using some fixed (i.e. almost confirmed) receipts, such as process production orders, purchase orders, etc.  and #3 adding the rest of elements, so you can have three differents coverages, #1 is critical, if all receipt fail then I have to cover my requirements using stock only, and so on.
Tipically the sequence would be, for this criteria,
    Coverage 1 < Coverage 2 < Coverage 3

  • Calculating Stock Coverage

We have  arpeort that outputs the number of days stock coverage for a particular material.  This is calcualted using the FM BAPI_MATERIAL_STOCK_REQ_LIST.  However this BAPI includes Q stock in the calculation, and we want to exclude it.
Has anyone got any ideas on how I mght get to the number of days excluding Q stock from the calculation?

  • Outbound picking without enough stock on hand

    Hi gurus
I have part A (PURC) and B (SEMI) - when I put A into a sales order, I can create an outbound picking list via VL01N without enough inventory on hand. When I do the sames to part B, I cannot get a picking list without stock.
For both of them I have made sure that the item categories, requirement types and schedule line categories are same.
I don't know where do define this availability check logic - I'm not even sure if it's anything to do with availability check because it's only material type which matters.
Please give me some suggestion. Thanks in advance.
    yu

    Thank you Shiva.
We don't have WM equipped. Just go directly to VL01N to get a picking list.
I can see for both part A and B, the availability checking rules are same -  02 Individ.requirements + A  SD order. Further I have compared the material master data of them without finding any diference.
When I look into OVZ9, I can see the setup of "02+A". It looks like untouched. I have a screendump here -

  • Insufficient trading stock coverage

    Hi,
I would like to clarify the calculation for the trading stock that out of coverage.
When GR, unit price $2 , quantity 100 and total value is $200.
    Dr stock  200
    Cr grc     200
    1)
During invoice time, the quantity now only have 40 and total value is $80.
So when IR, how is the accounting entry as sufficient coverage only 80 and 120 should go to price difference?
    2) after IR, in MM03, the total quantity and value is both 0. correct?
    thanks

    Hi,
I don't think so, according to your mention, the stock quantity still is 40 and stock value is $80 also. Because the GR price is equal to IR price, system doesn't adjust the stock account, that's to say:
    Do GR:
    Dr: Stock account $200
    Cr: GR/IR account $200
    Do IR:
    Dr: GR/IR account $200
    Cr: Vendor account $200
If the GR and IR price are not equal, the result is different.
    Good day

  • Stock Coverage profile with more tha 100 days (dynamic Safety Stock)

    Hello,
My customer is using dynamic safety stock using coverage profiles up to 95 days.
Now a new requierment emerged which states that they need to extend the coverage to 100, 120 and 150 days of safety stock.
I looked into the config buy as far  as I understand it, I can only configurate up to 99 days of coverage in each period!
Anyone had has this requierment form their Customers before and how did they resolve it?
    Thanks for any clue.
    Bye
    Aart

Not in front of system, working from memory here...
In OMIA, there must be a field called No. of periods (or something like that) maintain a value 2 there & for no. of days in a given period maintain 50. This should address the need for 100 days, likewise you can workout for the remaining.
Do a test with the above in your sandbox & let me know if you face any specific issues.

  • Not enough stock, but still available to create DN

    hi
how to configure the DN is not allowed to creat if the stock is not enough
and how to configure the DN is allowed to create even stock shortage
    thanks

you make this using the ATP check.
if you activate the ATP then che stock is checked and delivery is created is there is stock. If you need complete delivery check the partial delivery flag in the sales order item (should be set to C).
if you turn ATP off at delivery level then no check is performed, you can create delivery but you can post good issue only if you have stock (unless negative stock is allowed)

  • ZERO quantity avilable in Replenishment delivery (enough stock in MMBE)

    hi
While creating replenishment delivery from STO system given delivery qty is ZERO. if i try to enter the qty as '1' system is not allowing and giving error as "ZERO qty is avilable" for that Material Code stock is showing '6'. is it having any relation with avilability check?
    Rajendra

    Hi,
It depends on where that 6 items are, they could be in QI stock, safety stock or Blocked stock.
There could also be other deliveries etc. that mean the 6 is already required elsewhere.
MMBE is not the ideal enquiry for availablity, it is designed to show the Physical stock (i.e. where it is not if it is available or not. Try MD04 for this material and plant and see what it is showing. It should show you the stock and any other requirements affecting the availability.
