Stop seconday database when it is in restoring state

Hi All,
We are planning to perform Switch from primary to secondary server by using Libelle tool.
Before switch we have planned to increase the server resources and make it same as primary.
So for that we need to stop database running on secondary server. and database is in restoring mode.
So my question is it good to simply stop the database and when resources are increased start the database again.
If yes: Then database will come to restore stage again?
If No: Then what other strategy should we take?

Yes its simple shutdown & start the secondary server during the time primary restore stage. before that you can perform the truncate log backup in primary, check the log truncate completed on both servers and than do the hardware maintenance during this process keep an eye on log DB

Restore state of listview connected with CollectionViewSource

Hi it's 10 days that I'm stuck on saving and restoring state of ListView connected to collection ViewSource
there's nothing special... the problem is that when I try to restore state save scrollview(extracting from ListView) position (VerticalOffset), then restoring, the position of scroll is wrong, so for eg. items in the middle of the listview are wrong.
In few words all seem works, I mean saving and restoring, but actually the scroll position is completely wrong, when I try to restore scrollposition near middle of the list, if the position to restore is near bottom or top it works fine.
So, I mean, if I scrolled near item in the middle, then suspending and resuming the position is not right but is some items down...
the listview is groupped with albums (group ) and songs (item), nothing special, here's a piece of code

I think this may be due to cached UI layout, this need to measure again manually:

I just got a new iPhone 6 but when I did the restore from backup of my old iPhone 4; none of my pictures were there and almost all of my calendar was missing. Can anyone help?

Hi, I just bought an iPhone 6, 64GB and had everything ready to do the "restore from backup" from my old iPhone 4 8GB. It kept stopping and I'd have to start over from the beginning. When I finally got it to do something with the help of my provider(who had walked me thru from the beginning anyway); I figured I was all set. Then I went to see my pics to use one for my lock screen and there were NO PICTURES AT ALL and only part of my calendar came over. I'm missing a lot of future appointments that I know are set up. I made sure not to wipe out my old one yet; as I will have to since I did the trade in plan; so I still have my old iPhone 4 and it has everything in it, in addition to having the backup on two computers in the house.
I also tried syncing it after the restore since things were missing, but that didn't work either.
I would appreciate any help so I can use my phone and get going with it.

Did you choose the wrong back up? There should be a drop box when you go to "Restore from Back up" in iTunes and your iPhone is plugged in, on the Summary page. Choose the correct back up. If you can't find one, and you still have your device, back up your iPhone 4 again and then choose that back up. Or check for an old iCloud back up if you have one.

I downloaded 5 to my itunes. When I tried to update my iPad 2 it extracted the informaion and then when it tried to restore the iPad, I got an error message saying that my iPad malfunctioned, it went into recovery mode, and it would not restore.

When I downloaded (on PC) the new 5 it crashed my iPad 2. I worked for two days to get it to stop the malfuction, went to the apple store for four hours, iPad crashed again, got a new one, new iPad crashed when I tried to restore my back up. This is Linda again. The new iPad actually as not restored on my employees computer. I thought it was working. Message said the device is in recovery mode and can not be restored. Why don't you talk to apple and find out if backup exists? That conversation with apple will stop your guessing.

I am also facing the same issue.
four days back, my power buttton stopped working.
Then my sim card slot stopped reading like it was stuck at gsm/cdma band.
Even without simcard it said searching..
then I changed the power button and antenna strip myself as my iphone5 is uk ee and i live in india.
Everything was fine and I booted the phone.
The power button worked like a new device... but the searching problem still remained.
I hard resetted my phone but to no vail. even Find My phone was not turning off.
then I forced my phone to recovery mode and downloaded iphone5,2 7.0.2,11A501_restore.ipsw from web and flashed it.
At the start it recognised and everything was good until the "restoring iphone firmware" was stuck at the end point.
I tried every trick on net. Even tried to downgrade.. but it was blocked.
at the last it is either stuck at firmware or itunes unknown error (3)

Database in "Restoring" state --- HELP

Ok. I have spent hours on this already.
We were restoring a database from tape. The tape drive failed in the middle of the restore. So now we CANNOT restore from tape to try again.
Before I started the restore, I detached and made a copy of the database files.
The database is in "Restoring" state. All I want to do is DELETE the "restoring" database and attach the copy.
How do I get rid of this thing????? In 2000 it was an update of the sys.databases. In 2005, you cannot do that anymore.

I had a situation where my database showed restoring state and I couldn't run any queries and couldn't connect with our software.
What I did to get out of this situation is:
1. Stop all SQL related services from windows services.
2. I opened the DATA folder where the Ldf and Mdf files resides in the SQL directory, normally its like :
"C:\Program Files\***********\MSSQL\DATA
3. Then I copied both the Ldf and Mdf files of the database:
[db name].mdf and [db name]_log.ldf
I copied both of these files to another folder.
4. Then I started all the SQL related services (in step 1) again from windows services.
5. Started my MS SQL Management studio with normal login.
6. Right click on the culprit database and hit DELETE (to delete the database at all).
7. All the LDF and MDF files related to this database have gone from DATA folder (mentioned in step 2).
8. Created a new database with the same name (same name of the one I deleted in step 6 - the culprit database).
9. Then [database name]->right click -> tasks -> Take Offline.
10. I then Copied both the files (from step 3) back to the DATA folder (step 2).
11. [database name]->right click -> tasks -> Bring Online.
12. AlhamduLLilah , its all done.

"Unable to connect to the database" when connected to corporate network

Hi
Installed Primavera P6 V7 and Oracle 10g in Stand alone on XP 32bit machines with SP3. When our machines are NOT connected to the corporate network it works fine.
However when connected to the network we can not access the locally stored database. We get message "primavera unable to connect to the database. would you like to configure the database connection now"
Database on servers that we set up are fine regardless.
If we connect machines to just the internet, again no issues.
So something is stopping Primavera opening local database when connect on our corporate network.
Any ideas please?

This may be a long shot but look into how your TNSNAMES.ora file is being distributed on the domain (or are you possibly utilizing LDAP.ora on the domain side?).
Some time ago I remember a company scripting an ENV variable on domain logon that altered where the Oracle client would pull the TNSNAMES from.

Display shuts off when trying to do a system restore.
When doing a system restore the display seems to shut off. I have tried many times, sometimes it stops at 3%, sometimes at 14% and sometimes before I can even start it. I have attached a second monitor and it goes off at the same time.
I can no longer boot to windows since it started a system restore.
I have tried to boot from a CD and also get a black screen. All lights on the keyboard are still on. It is like it goes into powersave mode. Light on HD is solid, doesn't make any noise.
I am so frustrated! There was no power or display issues before I started. I was simply going to do a clean restore.

Yes, if you have the music folder you still have your song files....the most important!
But I would hate to lose my ratings and playlists.
If you want your ratings and playlists from the ipod, itunes will NOT do it. You would have to download & install some other 3rd-party ipod manager. Such as mentioned here:

My advice for the future is to make frequent backups of the iTunes Library.itl file. About once a week, I put a copy on a USB stick Mor often if I've done lots of edits/added content. And ALWAYS before an itunes upgrade.
