Store file streams into dicom object in oracle 11g (BLOB construct)

The datastream is transfered from network and stored into oracle DB as a blob , then I use the Dicom construct to build the dicom object . The problem is , before I have the blob in the DB , I have to create an empty Blob object ,I use this this empty blob and do the datastream store .
Does somebody have the idea ,how to directly store the datastream into the DB BLOB ,or can I put this BLOB as the variable in JAVA .
my program like this :
stmt.executeUpdate("insert into blob_tbl(id,my_blob) values('" + in + "',empty_blob())");
     ResultSet rs = stmt.executeQuery("select my_blob from blob_tbl where id='" + in + "' for update" );
     if(rs.next())
     Blob blob = rs.getBlob(1);
     OutputStream out = ((oracle.sql.BLOB)blob).getBinaryOutputStream();
     byte[] b = new byte[((oracle.sql.BLOB)blob).getBufferSize()];
     InputStream fin = inStream;
     int len = 0;
     while( (len = fin.read(b)) != -1)
     out.write(b,0,len);
     fin.close();
     out.close();
     conn.commit();

    You may have one of a few errors going for you there:
    The error says your column in Oracle is a Long not a CLOB, if it is, then make your column a CLOB.
    CLOB's are not suppored in all environments and/or all interfaces (specifically Windoz ODBC has a problem).
    I believe a DOC (Windoz MS-Word) file is a BLOB, due to formatting characters in the file.
    I had a very similar error using Access and trying to do this, but changing to SAS fixed the problem. It could very well be that your version of ODBC/JDBC drivers does not support it properly.

  • Store file/image into db

    Hi
    I would like to store file or img into db. I need sample code
    for that,
    I am using sqlserver db.
    Thanks

    Unless there is a compelling reason for storing the image in
    the database, I'd suggest you store the image in an image directory
    and store the filename of the image in the database. For example,
    if you store myImage.jpg into a directory named imageDir, you can
    store the filename "myImage.jpg" in the database. To display the
    image, retrieve it as the variable showImage and display it using
    <IMG SRC="imageDir\#showImage#" ... >

    Hi,
    I have a folder with abc.txt, xyz.txt, pqr.txt etc files.
    My requirement is to load all the file names into a Record Set which I need to use in data flow.  I think I need to use For each loop container with Enumerator as 'Foreach File Enumerator' and in the variable mappings I have added a variable name
    to get the file name. But I have stuck how to add these file names to a Record Set target. Please help me.

  • Sql script files to recreate SYS objects in Oracle 9i

    Hello all.
    I am working with a test Oracle database which is missing some SYS objects. (Oracle 9i).
    I was wondering if Oracle has any scripts that I can run and recreate those?
    Thank you,
    Sonya

    catalog.sql only creates the data dictionary views , not the underlying tables and indexes.
    (sql.bsq is the "internal" script that is executed to create objects in the SYS schema when a CREATE DATABASE command is issued --- but Oracle will not support anyone attempting to use this script directly).

  • How can i transform a file stream into a stream of a block blob to download block blobs?

    I want to change this code to work with block blobs, but I can't seem to figure it out on my own
    // initialize the http content-disposition header to
    // indicate a file attachment with the default filename
    System.String disHeader = "Attachment; Filename=\"" + "sample.txt" +
    Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition", disHeader);
    // Download the blob to a file stream.
    using (FileStream fs = new FileStream(this.Server.MapPath(@"Data\data.txt"), FileMode.Open))
    int chunkSize = 4096;
    byte[] buffer = new byte[chunkSize];
    int read = 0;
    Response.AddHeader("Content-Length", fs.Length.ToString());
    do
    read = fs.Read(buffer, 0, chunkSize);
    Response.OutputStream.Write(buffer, 0, read);
    } while (read > 0);
    fs.Close();
    fs.Dispose();
    Response.End();

    Hi,
    What detailed scenario do you want to achieve? If you want to download files from block blob stream, please have a look at below article.

  • Allow Windows AD domain user to access and manage objects in Oracle 11g

    Hi,
    I'm using Oracle 11g on Windows environments, XP, server 2003 etc.
    If I use a domain user (user1) maintained on domain server (adsvr.company.com) to manage Oracle objects in DB server (dbsvr), do I have to assign user1 as member of administrator on DB server (dbsvr)?
    I'm asking this because my software vendor requires for it but our security policy doesn't allow us to assign normal domain user (user1) to administrator group on local machine (dbsvr).
    If I have to assign user1 to administrator group on dbsvr, please point me which document says so.
    Thank you in advance.

    Looks like some left-over processes keeping a hold on configuration files.
    Manually kill the left-over processes and start the DB Console.

  • Do trace files need to be purged in Oracle 11g DB

    We have the Oracle 11g database setup. I have a query as to if it is required to purge the trace files found in adump, Bdump & Cdump administration file subdirectories or there is automatic log rotation of the trace files?
    I hope my query is clear that if it is required to manually purge the trace files or is there an automatic log rotation for the trace files.
    Please revert with the reply to my query.
    Regards

    starting with 11g and ADRCI there are two Parameters which controls the purging of old log and / or trace files:
    SHORTP_POLICY (default 720 hours) and LONGP_POLICY (default 8720 hours). As with the Default most traces and logs stay an entire year it might be worth changing those values like follows:
    adrci> set control (SHORTP_POLICY = 168)
    adrci> set control (LONGP_POLICY = 720)
    you can verify the current values with
    adrci> show control
    Unfortunately those parameters are only valid for components managed with ADR (Automatic Diagnostic Repository). So adump or any log locations under $ORACLE_HOME are still not managed automatically.

    set the listener home inside adrci and do

  • How can i Store rtmp streaming into local File System?

    I use socket and netstream.appendBytes to receive and play flv frames.
    now I got the BytesArray,but how can i store them into local File?
    FlashPlayer can't use Air File APIs.

    This is by design.  Content on the Internet does not have access to your local filesystem.  We offer Local Shared Objects (LSOs) for storing small amounts of information, but this would not be suitable for scraping a video feed to disk.

  • Store Output Stream into String

    Hello
    I want to store my out put stream in to string so that i can use it latter.
    out.println("Nilesh patel");
    out.println("[email protected]");
    out.println("Ahmedabad");
    it is "Nilesh patel [email protected] Ahmedabad" but i want to store into string like
    String tmp = out.toString();
    it is return the hash code of out object how can i store this value in String variable?

    To me, the most elegant way to do this would be with a Servlet Filter.
    You use a ResponseWrapper to create a "BufferedResponse" object, and pass that down to the next JSP/Servlet. Basically you have to override methods such as getWriter(), getOutputStream()...
    The JSP/servlet works as normal, but any calls to out.println() can be under your control.
    This simple class might help:
    public class RedirectingServletResponse extends HttpServletResponseWrapper {
        RedirectServletStream out;
         * @param arg0
        public RedirectingServletResponse(HttpServletResponse response, OutputStream out) {
            super(response);
            this.out = new RedirectServletStream(out);
        /* (non-Javadoc)
         * @see javax.servlet.ServletResponse#flushBuffer()
        public void flushBuffer() throws IOException {
            out.flush();
        /* (non-Javadoc)
         * @see javax.servlet.ServletResponse#getOutputStream()
        public ServletOutputStream getOutputStream() throws IOException {
            return out;
        /* (non-Javadoc)
         * @see javax.servlet.ServletResponse#getWriter()
        public PrintWriter getWriter() throws IOException {
            return new PrintWriter(out);
        private static class RedirectServletStream extends ServletOutputStream {
            OutputStream out;
            RedirectServletStream(OutputStream out) {
                this.out = out;
            public void write(int param) throws java.io.IOException {
                out.write(param);
    }You then use it something like this:
    public void doFilter(ServletRequest request, ServletResponse response, FilterChain chain) {
      // create an output stream - to file, to memory...
      ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
      // create the "dummy" response object
      RedirectingServletResponse dummyResponse = new RedirectingServletResponse(response, out);
      // pass it on to the next level:
      chain.doFilter(request, dummyResponse);
      // at this point the OutputStream has had the response written into it.
      byte[] result = out.getByteArray();
      // now you can do with it what you will.
    }There is probably a better way - providing response that will write any output to two output streams - the original and an alternative one (file) would be a good option.
    Hope this helps,

  • SQL Server 2008 File Stream On Existing Table

    Hi Folks,
    I have enabled the SQL Server File Stream option on a Existing table.
    1. Created a GUID Column
    2. Created a File Stream Column
    3. Swapped the Blob Column information into file Stream column.
    4. Dropped the BLOB Column.
    I could evidence, The above Step 3 Process moved out all the Blob Data into an configured Network File Group.
    Ex:
    Existing BLOB Data Size --> 10 GB
    Once after the completion of above step 4, SQL Server is not freeing up the BLOB occupied Space 10 GB. It should have only few MB's pointer address to the network file Group?
    If we create a new table with File Stream data type and insert the existing BLOB data ,Will result few MB pointer Address occupied in the newly created table. We except the similar behaviour for updating BLOB to File Stream in existing table.
    Please advice me.
    Thanks

    When you drop a column, SQL Server only mark the column as dropped, but does not reclaim the space, as that requires data to be shuffled around. You need to rebuild the clustered index (and any other index with the column) to reclaim the space. See repro
    below:
    CREATE TABLE myblobbie (id int   NOT NULL PRIMARY KEY,
                            name sysname  NOT NULL,
                            blob varchar(MAX) NOT NULL)
    go
    INSERT myblobbie(id, name, blob)
       SELECT object_id, name, replicate(convert(varchar(MAX), name), 1000)
       FROM   sys.objects
    go
    EXEC sp_spaceused myblobbie
    go
    ALTER TABLE myblobbie DROP COLUMN blob
    go
    EXEC sp_spaceused myblobbie
    go
    ALTER INDEX ALL ON myblobbie REBUILD
    go
    EXEC sp_spaceused myblobbie
    go
    DROP TABLE myblobbie

  • Including in expdp oracle 11g r2

    hi gurus,
    schema level backup including some objects in oracle 11g r2
    ]$expdp scott/tiger dumpfile=schema.dmp logfile=schema.log schemas=scott directory=dpdump include=table:"in ('EMP', 'DEPT')"
    it is saying badly include parameter mentioned. is there any thing wrong in this query.
    thank you!

    When you use either single quotes ' or double quotes ", you sometimes have to escape them. Depending on the operating system. When I use them, I either have to fight with the escaping, or I put them in a parameter file. If you were to create a file
    expdp_params.par
    ==============
    nclude=table:"in ('EMP', 'DEPT')"
    and then use:
    ]$expdp scott/tiger dumpfile=schema.dmp logfile=schema.log schemas=scott directory=dpdump parfile=expdp_params.par
    It should work fine.
    As for what this query will do... It should be the same as saying:
    ]$expdp scott/tiger dumpfile=schema.dmp logfile=schema.log directory=dpdump TABLES=SCOTT.EMP,SCOTT.DEPT
    When you specify include=table then the only objects that get exported are table types of objects. (tables, grants, indexes, etc.) That is the same set of objects that get exported when you say tables=tabnames.

  • Oracle 11g installation on Linux Enterprise 5 remains hanging at 43%!

    Hi all,
    as per Subject, I have installed a Linux Enterprise 5 OS downloaded by Oracle Download Center and it is now installed following the nice Guide here.
    I have added the missing Linux packages and set up the kernel parameters as per Guide quoted above.
    If I launch the Oracle installation, it completes the packages and parameters check fine, install goes fine until 43% and then hangs.
    It's not freezing as the Installation window shows ongoing animations, if I try to stop installation it responds immediately asking for confirmation.
    It just hangs up!
    The Linux machine is actually on a VMWare image on a MacOS Leopard host.
    I have tried it on my laptop and desktop as well, but the hang point keeps being the same.
    Any idea?
    Thanks in advance.
