Storing images,video,audia files

I like to store images,video and audio files in the database but have very less knowledge on them.Can any one give me the respective documentation as well as the code to insert and RETRIVE the image,video and audio files from the database.

Hi,
You can find a number of links to interMedia guides and reference material on the interMedia documentation page on OTN. In particular, you might want to check out:
- Audio, Image, and Video User's Guide and Reference
- Java Classes for Audio, Image, and Video User's Guide and Reference
- Java Classes for Servlets and JSPs (Javadoc)
You may also want to check out the interMedia samples page on OTN. It has contains examples that illustrate bulk-loading with SQL*Loader, plus web access to interMedia data using Servlets and JSPs, and the PL/SQL Gateway.
If you are developing/deploying a Java-based application and have Oracle8i 8.1.7 or later, then you'll already have the latest interMedia Java API. If you have 8.1.6, then you can download the class library from the interMedia software page on OTN. The interMedia Servlet/JSP API can also be downloaded from this page.
Hope this helps.
In order to better understand the variety of ways in which our customers are using interMedia, we'd be very interested in knowing a little more about your application, the interMedia functionality that you are using, how you are developing and deploying your application, and any new functionality you'd like to see added to Oracle interMedia. If you are able to help us, please send a short email message with some information about your application, together with any comments you may have, to the Oracle interMedia Product Manager, Joe Mauro, at [email protected] Thank you!
Regards,
Simon

  • Can't download/watch images, videos, files, websites...

    Hello,
    My problem started 2 days ago when i switched internet (from my parents house to my room close to school).
    Immediately these problems occurred:
    * Very slow internet (with moments)
    * I have to reload websites 3-10 or more times until i can view the full page
    * Downloading always stops at 99%
    * Images show half at the top, the bottom half is in another color, or moved to the side, blurry ...
    * Videos at youtube and other sides only show the black load screen, nothing more.
    * When i game, spectate mode always freeze, (when i play not)
    These are some possible problems i found, but i couldn't fix them with searching and trying on helpdesks:
    * SSL error -> ssl_error_bad_mac_read (on every webbrower (opera, chrome, firefox, IE)
    * Java is blocked because firefox says it is unstable or can damage my pc
    * I noticed this in my virus scanner (i use F-secure client security) : 24/03/2014 GEN:Variant.Kazy.257837 and on 16/03/2014 Trojan.GenericKD.1595555 , both removed by the virus scanner.
    I have tried many ways so solve the problem like:
    * Delete Cache, history, add-ons ...
    * Reset the modem
    * Full computer scan (twice) and no virus, spyware or malware found
    * Cleaned the pc with ccleaner
    * I have read most of the support mozilla pages to find a solution like checking my ssl- or proxysettings...
    * I have changed many things in options and programs (but changed them back when i saw it didn't work)
    I also took yesterday my pc to school to check if it would be better with another internet connection, the websites were loading faster (not like before but still better), but the image/video/download problem stayed (school internet = wireless, here with cable)
    I searched for info about a virus or trojan horse, but the only problem that was in common was a slow performance, not weird pop-ups or redirected to another site ...
    Everything without internet works excellent, so for those programs my pc is still very fast
    I hope someone can help me with this, if i forgot something important, i will add it.
    Brecht

    If you are using your school's internet, the connection may not be strong enough and may even be turned off during certain times of the day. Your school could also have a slow internet speed.

  • Embedding "album cover" image in a video podcast file

    I've created a video podcast and successfully submitted it to ITMS. The issue is that the individual episodes of my video podcast do not have cover art images associated with them. Instead, when I test subscribed to my video podcast, it generated an "album cover" for the podcast in a seemingly random fashion. For the first episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 6 of the .m4v file. and for the second episode, it grabbed a still frame from second 11 of the .m4v file.
    So, I thought I would go into the .m4v file via QTPro and create an image metadata association like is done with ID3 tags in .mp3 files. However, I cannot find a away to do that.
    Does anyone know how to embed an "album cover" image into a video podcast file (.m4v file)?
    If I add an image to the file via iTunes Get Info>Art Work tab and then export it back to my server, will the added image stay embedded in the .m4v file so that when others subscribe to my video podcast they will see my selected "album" artwork for that episode?
    You can view my video podcast at http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=83434502

    Super Mario:
    You were correct. Adding album artwork through iTunes "Get Info>Art Work" tab and then exporting my video podcast file back out to my server did the trick. I tested subscribing to it and this time my video podcasts had the album artwork that I selected attached to them.
    Also, thank you for the compliment on my sci-fi video podcasts. I'm currently working on a major overhaul of the website which will serve the fans of the series (if any). You can check it out in about two days at http://www.sayremedia.com.

  • Storing images and icons in a JAR file

    Hi,
    I current have a JAR file to store our application icons in the GIF format. The application also uses several images which I would prefer to be stored in the JAR file as JPG files.
    Is it possible to store both GIFs and JPGs in a JAR and access them from Forms?
    For Example:
    I am using code like:
    read_image_file('mess_bold.jpg','URL','IM_BOLD');
    and I have this image file in the JAR but I get the error...
    Unable to load image mess_bold.jpg for Image Item
    Also the Apache log shows...
    File does not exist: c:/oracle/frhome_1/forms/java/icons/mess_bold.jpg.gif
    Is this a config problem? I noticed that the read_image_file call looks in the icons directory which I specify in my Registry.dat file. Do the settings for default.icons.iconpath and default.icons.iconextension apply to images as well?
    Thank you in anticipation.
    Regards,
    Tom Casserly

    Hi,
    I already had the entry imageBase=codebase in my formsweb.cfg
    According to this article it is possible to read images from the JAR using the 'URL' parameter see
    https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:2109110130595761322::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,137397.1,1,1,1,helvetica
    I have managed to get the images loading from the JAR but only if I have them in the same directory and format (ie gif) as the icons. As I suggested above I think that read_image_file must be accessing the default.icons.iconpath=icons/ default.icons.iconextension=gif from my Registry.dat file.
    There is also a slight problem that you cannot seem to use read_image_file in the WNFI or PF trigger as suggested here: Re: Read images from a jar file?
    Has anyone managed to access images from a JAR in JPEG format alongside GIF icons?
    Thanks for you help.
    Regards,
    Tom Casserly

  • Which bytes should be edited in a WMF hex string stored in an RTF file in order to change image dimensions?

    I  would like to save the WMF file with proper dimensions as they are in the editor (my saved WMFs have the dimensions of my screen resolution).  They come from a RichEdit.
    Thanks.
    Edit:
    My goal is to convert the images that appear on a RichEdit to another format.
    Here is the fragment of the RTF:
    {\pict\wmetafile8\picw7407\pich9259\picwgoal4199\pichgoal5249
    010009000003703e020000005a3e02000000050000000b0200000000050000000c022b24ef1c5a
    ffffffffffffff030000000000
    }\cf2\lang1033\b\f1\fs23\par
    For each 2 chars in this string I converted it to hex and saved it through a memory stream. Then I opened it in Paint or GIMP and there is the image.  I even can convert it to a PNG file through ImageMagick tool. But the dimensions are wrong. How to fix
    this?
    I am using Lazarus.
    I could guess that the header is not OK, but how they can be opened by Paint and converted? So I guess the dimensions info is wrong in the header. In GIMP even the dimensions are right, here a link to the GIMP's dialogbox confirmation with the dimensions
    it has encountered in the file (  http://s13.postimg.org/s536tgo9z/Metafile_in_GIMP.png  ).
    So the info is there, but is wrong. When I open the images in Paint, they are wrong. Microsoft Office Picture Manager can also open them correctly, but could not convert them so. I need to do it programmatically. TMetafile Delphi class could not open these
    files as well in order to be converted. So I could only edit the bytes.
    My RichEdit WMF data can not be accepted by ComputeAldusChecksum routine nor get a handle from SetWinMetaFileBits API call, which would convert it to an EMF format.
    procedure TMetafile.ReadWMFStream(Stream: TStream; Length: Longint);
    var
    WMF: TMetafileHeader;
    BitMem: Pointer;
    MFP: TMetaFilePict;
    begin
    NewImage;
    Stream.Read(WMF, SizeOf(WMF));
    if (WMF.Key <> WMFKEY) or (ComputeAldusChecksum(WMF) <> WMF.CheckSum) then
    raise EComponentError.Create('Invalid metafile.'); // <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< exception here
    Dec(Length, SizeOf(WMF));
    GetMem(Bitmem, Length);
    with FImage do
    try
    Stream.Read(BitMem^, Length);
    FImage.FInch := WMF.Inch;
    if WMF.Inch = 0 then
    WMF.Inch := 96;
    FWidth := MulDiv(WMF.Box.Right - WMF.Box.Left,25400,WMF.Inch);
    FHeight := MulDiv(WMF.Box.Bottom - WMF.Box.Top,25400,WMF.Inch);
    with MFP do
    begin
    MM := MM_ANISOTROPIC;
    xExt := 0;
    yExt := 0;
    hmf := 0;
    end;
    FHandle := SetWinMetaFileBits(Length, BitMem, 0, MFP);
    if FHandle = 0 then
    raise EComponentError.Create('Invalid metafile.'); // <<<<<<<<<<<<<< exception here
    Enhanced := False;
    finally
    Freemem(BitMem, Length);
    end;
    end;

    Hi Antônio G,
    Based on your description, I’m afraid that it is not the correct forum for this issue, since this forum is to discuss:
    Visual Studio WPF/SL Designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System, and Visual Studio Editor.
    To make this issue clearly, would you mind letting us know more information about this issue? Which language are you using? Which kind of app are you developing?

  • Storing a video file on my tunsten T5 produces very short battery life

    I recently stored 2 videos on my internal drive of my T5. I have lots of room .. over 50% free.
    I noticed battery went from 100% charged to dead in less than 1 hour.
    I had done 2 things .. 1. changed preferences on pictures to slide show and 2. stored 2 videos.
    I have now taken slide show off the preferences options and deleted the videos.
    Battery now staying charged.
    Has anyone else had this experience?

  • Does Azure Media services support storing images?

    Hi,
    We are planning to store the media files in azure cloud, initially we planned to use the Azure blob storage and after deeply investigating we found the Azure media services has some outstanding capabilities  like streaming offline viewing etc. compared
    to azure blob storage.
    So here my question, does this supports storing the images as well?Please confirm this ASAP.
    I read the some article about media services, there it has been given like below, but Just i want to confirmation about this.
    Supported file types in Azure Media Services
    Various video, audio, and image file types can be uploaded to a Media Services account, with there being no restriction on the types or formats of files that you can upload using the Media Services SDK. However, the Azure Management portal restricts uploads
    to the formats that are supported by the Azure Media Encoder. These import formats include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, and Windows Media Video encoded video, MP3, WAVE, and Windows Media Audio encoded audio, and BMP, JPEG, and PNG encoded images. The Azure Media
    Encoder can export data as Windows Media Video, Windows Media Audio, MP4, and Smooth Streaming File Format.
    For more information about the supported file formats see "Supported input formats" and "Introduction to encoding."
    Thanks,
    Kiran

    Hi John,
    One more Question here.
    As of now we are planning to store and retrieve only the images and audio files with media services, so can I avoid encoding and packaging and use it?Will it work?
    Can I access the  images and audio files without encoding and packaging?
    In future, we are are planning to add the videos as well.
    I think encoding and packaging will come into picture when streaming the videos.
    Thanks,
    Kiran

  • How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.

    How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.

    I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
    iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
    This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways  do this is
    Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
    Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
    From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
    When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
    So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible.

  • How do I watch videos (.mov files) from my iphone 5 on my windows vista pc?

    Hi I've downloaded my videos from my iphone 5 to my PC which runs Windows Vista, but I cannot work out how to play the videos (.mov files)
    I've tried the latest Quicktime player (7.7.6) and also Quicktime 7.6 and the audio plays fine but the video is slow and jumpy. The video plays fine on my iphone.
    I've tried iTunes on my pc but I have the same problem.
    The problem is even worse with VLC media player in that the image is distorted and pixelated, but again the audio is fine.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    You need to import the videos to iTunes and synch via iTunes

  • Displaying server stored images in an air application

    Usually when I go about displaying server stored images in a regular flex application I go about it the following way:-
    - Create a mysql database table on a server which contains image names
    - Create a php file which generates all of the image namesfrom the table as xml and upload this file to the server
    - Create a new flex application/project
    - In the application make a http service which points to my php/xml file and turns this data into an array collection
    - Set the array collection to the dataprovider of a tilelist component so that all of the images will eventually be displayed within it when they are created
    - I set the itemrenderer of the tilelist to an image component which has it's source set to something like source="{'assets/images'+ data.imagename}" with imagename being the field containing the name of the image which is stored in the mysql database table.
    - Make a folder in the app/project called assets/images which will contain all of the images
    - Upload the app to the server and once it runs all the images will be displayed in the application
    - Then any images that are uploaded to the server can also be displayed as long as their names are added to the mysql database
    My question is though how do you get server stored images to display within an Air Application? My air app will be used on multiple machines but I want the images in it to be dynamic i.e. stored on a server and can be changed. How can this be done?

    I'm struggling to figure out how to access the image files when the assets/images folder will be on a server and the app itself will be on the user's desktop whereas usually in the case of a regular flex app this wouldn't mater as both the app and the image files would be on the server together. Is what I'm trying to do possible i.e. displaying images on a desktop air app straight from a server?

  • HT2493 How to change preview image of a file and NOT the icon ?

    Hello dear Mac users
    How to change preview image of a file and NOT the icon ?
    I know how to change the icon of a file, but I wish to know how to change the preview of any file.
    For example: my file is "mysong.aif", I changed the icon to be "mylogo.png" using cmd+i, cmd+v on the icon. But the preview of the file still remain the same.
    I know it can be changed using iTunes, but I don't want to import all my files in iTune, and iTune cannot import all type of files.
    I hope someone will understand my needs...
    Thanks!

    Thanks BeerbarX
    You can't change the preview image for anything
    hoo
    QuickLook plugin
    what are the plugin ?
    In the case of a music file, it will be that generic black box with a note on it
    That is exactly what I'm asking about !
    MP3 which has a special tagging standard that can include artwork
    How can I "tag" my MP3 without going thru iTunes ? Is it possible to do it dirrectly in the Finder ? Is there other type of files that can include such tags ?
    Thank you for answering my question , wich I have to admit may seem useless, but I wish I could put something like a signature logo on each of the different file I produce (as AIF for music and MP4 for video clip) instead of that generic black box with a note on it, and by the meantime keeping a different icon for all of them in order to illustrate theire content.

  • Images and audio files in a database

    how does one put images and audio files in oracle 8? What are the data types going to be in the tables for images and audio files..?
    null

    One of the most important reasons that one would choose to store multimedia in the database is to be able to manage this content safely and efficiently. Having multimedia in the database allows you to use database itegrity techniques to keep your data safe and consistent. If you choose to use BFILE storage, you will NOT have these advantages. You will have to back up the database, and the filesystem(s) where the multimedia is stored, and devise a way to keep this data consistent. You will not be able to rely upon the database backup entirely, you would need filesystem backups to be coordinated with database backups.
    I would suggest that you store the multimedia in BLOBs within the database.
    From the LOB application developer's guide:
    * External (BFILE) LOBs do not participate in transactions. Any support for integrity and durability must be provided by the underlying file system as governed by the operating system.

  • Don't know how to store/show image or pdf files easily in apex app

    Hi,
    I always want to put a blob column in my table and store some images or pdf files, like drawings for an item, but I found it hard to do, I have viewed the sample app by apex 4.0, but I cannot understand the code.
    Is there a simple and intuitive way of storing/showing pdf files in an apex app?
    I wish Oracle could make an easier wizard for apex on that issue.
    just make storing a file as simple as in MS access, or email attachment, etc.
    no headache coding involved.
    that will be great!
    that will also do Oracle good, since images will use up a lot of spaces, maybe Xe won't be enough, the will consider an upgrade.

    Yawei,
    there is a chapter about BLOB support in the application builder users guide: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17556_01/doc/user.40/e15517/advnc.htm#BCGGJHEF
    Maybe this helps for a start, even if it isn't as easy as in MsAccess but this may be due to the fact that APEX is a web application and Access a rich client.

  • Wich objecttype for coloms should i use for storing different types of file

    Hello,
    Could someone tell me which objecttype i should use for a colom in a table that is used to store any type of files, by example:
    bmp,doc,txt,jpg etc.
    I'm thinking of a BLOB or CLOB, because i think that those types are for such kind of files, but i don't really know the difference so maybe somebody could help me with this and explain the difference.
    thanks by regards,
    Menno

    Menno,
    Depending on your requirements, you can use internal LOBs or
    external LOBs. You can also consider Oracle InterMedia cartriges
    to perform sophisticated functions on text, image, video, and
    spatial data. Another solution would be to use Oracle's iFS
    (internet file system).

  • Response Already commited exception while displaying Image outside WAR File

    My application contains a JSF page, which is bound to a Spring bean. The UI components state of the JSF page is provided by the Spring bean properties (This means the Spring bean is the backing bean of the JSF page) . My problem is the JSF page also contains a graphicImage meant to display image stored outside the WAR file.
    I tried using the ImageServlet that streams the image to the HttpServletResponse as suggested in:
    http://balusc.blogspot.com/2007/04/imageservlet.html However, I receive a Response Already commited exception. I guess this is because the Faces servlet has already sent back a response based on the other UI component values and the ImageServlet is then trying to repeat that. Please suggest how to handle this

    First thanks for your prompt reply but I am still stuck. Let me get into details. My JSF page is:

       Image Title: <h:outputText value="#{springDaoRef.imageTitle}"/>
      </h:form>
    </f:view>The ImageServlet is receiving the file and url parameter values and reading quite fine from the image present in the file system. The problem occurs at the following statement in ImageServlet:
    output = new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());Im using Glassfish and it reports the following stack:

    executePhase(RENDER_RESPONSE 6,com.sun.faces.context.FacesContextImpl@f801ef) threw exceptionI am assuming that the image request is going through the FacesServlet. But now my question is how to inform JSF that the response is complete (via FacesContext.responseComplete()) which will enable the ImageServlet to send the image response?
