Storing users workspace information in XML

Hi,
I have to store users workspace information in XML file so that user can retreive it later. The information that needed to be stored can be any thing. This XML file will be stores in oracle back end.
Well i am not totally well aware of XML advantages and how well we can use it.
If any one who is is well aware of XML can provide me some information that will help in understanding it better like any related site, white papers etc.
For more clarification about the information that needed to be stores can be like,
1. Customization of Menu
2. Customization of ToolBar
3. Child windows opened
4. Which window is currently loaded
etc
Also i need a generic way to manuplating my code so that i wont have to make major changes during the process.

you might be better asking this in the XML forum.
What will probably happen is that the XML structure is your template eg
Store1 xml
<menu> store1 menu</menu>
Store2 xml
<menu>store2 menu</menu>
From your xml dtd you can derive what is needed to create a Java model which you will have to populate with the values of the XML tags.
Then your gui will reflect any changes made in the model
If you do a search on sun for XML there is a tutorial which may be of use. Also depending how big your project is you may wish to look at JAXB

ITunes Error "There was an error storing your authorization information ...

I cannot play music downloaded from itunes. I have a dell computer with Windows XP Media with 4 users set up. One user has an itunes library that we downloaded music from itunes and got the following messages when trying to access the song.
1. open itunes and click on purchased song
2. the authorize computer pop-up window says this computer is not authorized to play "my doorbell", would you like to authorize it?
3. I enter the name and password and click authorize.
4. itunes tells me you have authorized 1 out of 5 machines.
5. I click ok and another pop-up box tells me "There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required file was not found or has permission errors. Correct the permission problem and try again or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed."
I followed the suggestions from a 3/21/06 posting on this matter, to the best of my ability, to no avail.
I've uninstalled itunes, run my disk cleanup utility to remove all unnecessary files (hoping to remove any orphan files) and re-installed itunes which did nothing. the 3/21 posting said to delete the library itl file and imported the library xml file (again). I am not sure what that means so I did not take this step.
Any help would be appreciated.-lpo

Also make sure "Fast User Switching" is off for the 4 accounts you have on this PC and that the account you have downloaded content on is a adminisrtative one

How to include input user parameter values in XML report output?

How can i include input user parameter values in XML report output. I a have a report which can be run by providing start date and end date. I would like to include value of these parameters in XML output to enable me to figure out dates for report, just by looking at XML output.

I think all the XML attributes can contain lexicals. If you bring up the property palette against the report object you can just set the following:
XML Tag Attributes: myParameter="&<P_1>"
where P_1 is your user parameter.

First I would just try deleting the SCInfo folder, restart your computer, open itunes and see if you are still getting the error, at that point if you are it is a permissions error with the computer specificaly and not in itunes.

Could not complete your request because of missing or invalid user personalization information on Vista?

I recently tried to install PhotoShop CS4 on a Vista machine. I could not get it to activate, found out from Adobe that it was a bad serial number. So, I uninstalled it, and tried to reinstall my good old standby - Creative Suite 1.0. This has worked for YEARS!
Now, I get the error "could not complete your request because of missing or invalid user personalization information" when I try to launch PhotoShop 8.0. All other applications of the Creative Suite are working. There is no serial number posting in the window of PhotoShop when I launch it.
I am sure it is something in the registry. I have uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times with no success.
Can anyone help?

You need to run the CS4 clean script to remove traces of the installation.

Error occured while saving the user account information

I'm trying to install LiveCycle ES 2 with PDF Generator on a Windows 2008 server wtih SQL Server 2005. When I run the configuration manager I get an error in the step where you add the administrator user credentials for generator. The error I'm receiving is ALC-PDG-080-032-Error occured while saving the user account information. Has anyone seen this issue before? Any ideas on what the problem may be?

Going back some time, another user (do not recall Matrox on the system) had a similar issue. The workaround in that case was to use Save_As and just increment the file name. Now, I do not recall any real "fix," and for another user, the Save_As resulted in the same behavior, so it was not a universal workaround.

We did the following steps :
Created shopping cart- employer and WF triggered apprd. by manager.
Purchaser did "Carry Out Sourcing ", and if we say "Create Purchase Order", the PO gets created with a information message that "Incomplete purchase order 11/1 is created "
When we go to "Process Purchase Order" for the completion of the same. If we see Follow-on documents "Purchase Order Held" occurs.
In the tab Item Data details Pricing tab we get this error.
Do any of the SRM gurus can suggest us what to do?
In our admin logon it shows
"Server for pricing is not running. Start Server" occurs after every run of this process purchase order from the purchasers login, though our IPC is working fine.
Will be of great help if somebody replies soon.

I had tried what you sad.I open shared service in that foundation project i had export shared service.after that in import-export file.In that role.csv,user.csv,group.csv.Like this file have.When i open user file added some users after i trying save in excel it shown messgse

Iam creating a user defined information structure for flexible planning. I selected the following characteristics.
1. Sales organization
2. Distribution channel
3. Sold to party
4. Plant
5. Material
But I get the following message "Include product groups/materials field for planning hierarchy".
May I know whats the reason for this message and how to solve it.

Th hierarchy what you created may have some error, please reassign the sequence in hierarchy and check it out, it will work
