Strange reaction in IE

I created a simple flash movie that acts as a slideshow that stops at the last image. It looks and plays fine in all browsers besides IE 7. In IE the movie cuts in and out. Also, it loops instead of stopping on the last image. I used stop() on the keyframe to get the stop action.
Has anyone seen this before and know a cause for it?

Datagrid row strange reaction

When I update my Datagrid dataprovider the rows double and
even triple in width.
Details:
My dgrid shows 4 columns.
1) A file icon and filename in first column
2)File size¨
3) Date
4) Comments
When I modify the contents of the dataprovider the dgrid
suddenly goes bizarre and changers size.
When I reload the grid a couple of times it coms back to its
normal size.
Anyone seen this one before? Any ideas?

I'm using javac and appletviewer and I keep getting this strange reaction.
I've got a couple of classes, one extends the other. ie:
class a
class b extends a
Now when I compile b it says it cannot find class a. Both of these java files are in the same directory. Class a compiles fine on its own but I can't compil b.
Also, when compiling a with the statement:
package c
as the first statement and then trying to run the compiled class in the appletviewer, I get the following error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: a (wrong name: c/a)
The Applet window comes up but with applet not initialised.
Can anyone help with this? I purposely didn't put up the code because I figured it would be unnecessary.

Webutil and CalenderPJC Problem

I have successfully integrated the Webutil CalendarPJC into my forms. It works fine on a single row block, but on a multi-row block the PJC has a strange reaction. I have a button on each line beside a date field. When you click on the button on a row the Java Calendar pops up but the form moves the current row to the next row on the form. Has anyone had this issue and can offer a suggestion how to correct this problem would be greatly appreciated? I tried moving the row back one row as the PJC comes up but that would not work!

I have a simple form with a multi-row block. The form displays 10 rows when displayed. One of the fields is a date field. I place the Java Bean Area right beside the date field. So on each row there is Button for the CalendarPJC. If the first row is highlighted and I press the Button on that row for the PJC the Java Bean displays the Java Date modal window and moves the current row to row 2. I am running forms 10.2.0.2 on windows and SUN JVM 1.5.0_16

Networking and File Sharing with XP PC's

I bought a MacBook pro 2.2 ghz last week and have an issue when it wakes from sleep mode. I have a Linksys wrt54g wireless router connected to my home XP machine and the notebook connects to the router fine for internet and for sharing files with the XP machine(noted as MSHOME under network locations on the mac).
Sometimes when the notebook wakes from sleep it fails to detect MSHOME under Network, and will only show SERVERS and LIBRARY yet, the PC can still see and access files on the Notebook at certain times when this happens. Internet access from the router is never affected.
I also tested this with an ethernet cable last night and the same thing occurred. At first I thought it was the airport, but now I am not sure.
Bye the way, also add one Kernel panic to the mix after having it for two days, but haven't had one since.
I have read that the sleep mode has some strange reactions with these systems. I think it's now noted as an enhanced sleep mode.
I am scheduled to see a Genius (yeah, right!)at a local store on Saturday and wondering what kind of run around I will get.
Anyone have any ideas why this is hapening or how I can correct it?

Your problem is not one requiring a Genius but more a user knowledge issue (hey everyone has to start somewhere!! : ) ). Remote Desktop is not a solution for what you want to achieve. The variables you mention are not problem points if you understand networking and hence the reasons why you are having issues.
For starters, don't rely on network browsing to find resources on a network; least of all from a Mac! Network browsing works much better under Windows (sorry Apple, but it just does).
Secondly, realise that if you change passwords, it will effect what you can access (for obvious reasons). If typing a username and password is acceptable for you then this is a moot point. If you don't want to type passwords, then make sure you use accounts with matched username/passwords.
In Finder, select the Go menu, then Connect to Server... This is the sure fire way to ensure you get the drive mapped properly. Type in:
smb://computername/sharename
where computername is the netbios name of your Windows PC, and sharename is the folder share name. Create an alias of it somewhere so you don't need to do it again! Don't use an IP address, as if the address changes your alias will fail - use the name and as long as you don't change the PC name you'll be fine.
Post back here if you're still having issues or something isn't clear and we can throw in some more pointers.

Double-click on PDA

Hi,
When a user double clicks on a button on a PDA, the application has a strange reaction : it displays an empty screen with the value 'false'.
Has anybody had this issue ? is there a way to correct it and make it work normaly ?

Is it a "!" instead of an "x"? That's an indication that the file path/link to the original file has been broken. Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Can't write large files to my WebDAV server

Hi, yesterday I set up a WebDAV directory on my mini using Apache 2.0.56 with digest authentication.
Everything works fine when I connect from home, however, when I tried to access it from work I got some very strange reactions.
Connection worked out-of-the-box, downloading was no problem, but uploading only worked for small files (< 200KB).
When I tried to upload a 1MB file, it hung for quite a while, and then gave me an error code -50. When I tried again with a different file, I got an error code -43. I then tried uploading a Pages document (a typical "package") and it uploaded most of the package's contents, but returned a -43 also when transferring the images in the document.
I found http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107047 but it didn't help because the suggested fix was already configured.
Has anyone else had problems like these? Could it be a firewall, or proxy problem? If so, how might I be able to work around it?

Just chatted with a Cisco rep who offered a solution (which did not work):
On the "Setup -> Basic Setup" tab,
under "Internet Setup -> Optional Settings(required by some Internet Service Providers)" in the left column,
change "MTU" from "Auto" to "Manual", and then
change "Size" from 1500 to 1365.
Click "Save Settings" on the bottom.

ALEAUDIT IDoc cannot find request IDoc in Integration Server

Hi,
i m working with a scenario SAP ECC 7.0 -> IDoc -> PI -> IDoc -> R/3 4.6c
I m sending a purchase order (ORDERS.ORDERS05) from SAP ECC and i want to receive an acknowledgment from R/3. Unfortunately there are only zeros in the field E1ADHDR / E1STATE / DOCNUM, this leads to the error "ALEAUDIT IDoc cannot find request IDoc in Integration Server" on PI.
Does anybody know what to do in the R/3 system to send the original IDoc number in E1STATE / DOCNUM?

I needed to change the RCVPRT field to LS to force the receiving system to send the ALEAUD with original number at the right place. Strange reaction, but it is SAP software, he, he.

NWBC 4.0 : pinning tabs language dependent

Dear experts,
I had some strange reaction when pinning tabs, being logged into SAP with different languages.
Whatever the language I log with in with to NWBC 4.0 PL13, the tabs I pinned stay in the language I was logged in when creating them.
I pinned a tab when being logged in English, another when in French.
When afterwards connected to SAP in Dutch, the pinned tabs showed all screens and additional tabs opened via OBN links in French or English.
Only the newly opened sessions are in Dutch (the login language).
Any solutions ?

Photoshop CS6 used on an extended desktop

Very strange reactions from Photoshop CS6 when used on my Lenovo ThinkPad in an extended desktop situation. Any attempt to open an image in Photoshop is unsuccessful in showing the actual image, despite the layers box shoing the thumbnail, the "open ifle" text box at the top indicating it is open, and the image details box also indicating correct data for the image file. If I close down extended desktop Photoshop works just fine. If I extend the desktop once Photoshop is running, I can move the open window to the extended desktop and it also works fine. Once I close Photoshop I am back to square one. Any insights appreciated.

That's a pretty solid sign of a display driver problem.
Is your laptop using an Intel GPU? Intel drivers have traditionally been kind of iffy with regard to accelerating Photoshop.
You may be able to find an updated display driver for your setup that gives you better results. Exhaust this possibility first.
Or you might find that Photoshop is made usable by turning off the [ ] Use Graphics Processor setting in Edit - Preferences - Performance. You lose some features with this approach, however.

Urgently need help inserting nodes into TreeTable

Hi, I've got the following problem -
I use the model that retrieves data from Oracle Database, and it works ok, but when I try to insert new node dynamically, I get very strange reaction of TreeTable and I've been looking where the problem for several hours and I can't find it.
When I insert the new node I see that the new node is inserted BUT the information in the table doesn't match to the one I've inserted - the node's name is empty and the information in the table just the same as the previous element has.
I use TreeTable built on the exmple from Sun.
To notify the TreeTable about changes I use

15" UMBP 2.53 - 6GB RAM Configuration

So I originally purchased 2x2GB from Apple with my UMBP, and I have since tried to purchase the 4GB module from OWC to try and go to 6GB. I installed the 4GB module and the machine booted no problem, but would soon lock up with the blackened screen and the message to restart. It only took about 5 minutes or so to do this. This problem persists, ONLY when I use the nvidia 9400 onboard graphics, If I switch to the 9600M, I can run nicely with 6GB of RAM which is recognized by the OS no problem. I've tried running the 4GB module by itself, same issue, it freezes up while running with the 9400M but using the 9600M results in success. I've spoken with OWC, they're going to ship me another module, I'm hoping the module is bad. Anyone with similar experiences or ideas as to why this would be happening? I have updated my machine with every possible update from Apple for Leopard and my hardware.

Yeah, I hear ya, and I'm NOT unsympathetic... it IS goda*m shame , though, that someone who's read the posts, knows that an unimpeachable, let alone reputable, vendor like OWC is selling their 6 GB upgrade kits like hotcakes (they are), knows that most people have NO issues with this upgrade (I'd know, since I've deployed so many 6 GB 15" UMBP's that I've lost count north of around 430), and who's just tryin' to boost performance on a new MBP that hasn't had a decent speed upgrade in over two years, THAT party (you), should not have to worry about this issue; you should be able to just slap in the 6 GB kit and go... unfortunately, I learned that Apple has a strange reaction to product issues sometimes, my 'forever' lesson came with the 5300c and the IIfx, respectively.
I'd just go back to 4 GB, and try and return the 6 GB kit... unless you're prepared to get an exchange from OWC, if you don't mind the delay, do obvious stuff like the Apple Hardware test, TechTool Pro, RAM testers (software RAM testers sometimes can flag issues with sticks 'o RAM that stress testing with RAM tests like that of Diglloyd.com... I heartily recommend this guy's site+blog; he definitely knows more than most about Mac hardware, is a longtime Mac code-monkey, and has actually flagged/been correct about many things I've found to be inaccurate on Barefeats.com (often), and XLR8yourmac.com (seldom), as well as Ric Ford's venerable site (Macweek, where for art though?), as well as PRAM, associative actions, such a system controller resets, Single-user mode, safe mode, command-line utilities such as diglloyd's, and any intuitive methods, as well as posts in all kinds of user forums, from DV.com's to MacNN to deal-mac's flamefest, to DPReview's Mac section, Luminous Landscape Mac forums, etc... you can't ask too many questions; as they said in Yale Law School, 'the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask'... come to think of it, they said that in the Marines, to... hmmm... anyway, you get the idea. Maybe hanging onto your 6GB kit until you ascertain, to an .000001 degree of accuracy, that yer RAM's OK, THEN proceed from there, I'd peg your chances of success at 40/60, you bein' the '40%'.. No wifi on 3g after firmware upgrade...

Strange reaction to the latest version 3.1.3 upgrade..wifi does not locate home location nor any other wifi spots outside, tried reset and complete restore ....I wonder what else to try..real nuisance. I wonder how one could restore to the previous version which was working fine with wifi.

Not an answer but there is a small minority who have suffered from this.
I wonder how one could restore to the previous version which was working fine with wifi.
Legally you cannot and you will ind within that thread, that a revert back to 3.1.2 does not necessarily solve things.

The three riddles of Soundtrack

Hey there Soundtrack mavens,
I'm cleaning up a soundtrack for a short film. Now I've got three questions.
#1. Is it possible to apply an effect to just a portion of the clip, not the entire master clip? And is it possible to do so without moving a segment of the clip down to another track or making an edit? You see, the sound file is all one unit, because it was mixed on Logic, then output as a single file.
#2. I'm running into an issue during export. Once exported, although the levels are all correct, the overall volume of the clip itself is not loud enough. If I raise the master volume in Soundtrack then my high point level will hit the red. I'm going to eventually bring the clip into DVDSP. Is there a way to raise the overall volume so that if a viewer watches the film at home they can make the film loader if they so desire?
#3. Now I want to bring the exported clip into DVDSP but when I do, it creates a strange reaction in the video clip. The audio runs normally, but the video runs super fast, twice the speed. Very odd. Upon inspection of the aiff audio clip, I noted that the size is very large, 867.7MB (909,824,320 bytes). When I compress the clip in Compressor to a .ac3 it solves the problem, but also compresses the audio in a way I don't like. Can't I export an audio clip from Soundtrack that is readable by DVDSP without having to compress again?

#1-if you cut the track @ beginning point & end point creating a clip, but leaving it on the timeline, you can apply an effect to just that clip by selecting it.
#2- how are you monitoring your audio? adjust your audio levels w/ the rubber bands or overall, to not peak into the red, home viewers can adjust the volume on their TVs or home sound systems as they need.
#3-sorry i can't help w/ this one.

IPhone loses contacts on some wifi networks

My iPhone 4S running the latest iOS 7 update has a strange reaction to my home wifi network... Every time I connect to it my contacts all disappear. No such issues with my iPad or my wife's iPhone. After a few hours off wifi my contacts will reappear.

I suppose the problem is on the network. This always happen to me when connected to low speed Wi-Fi networks. Seems Mail doesn't like slow speed, after a certain timeout looks like it assumes there's no Internet and gives up trying. Maybe if you try a different network, such as sharing 3G from your phone, it would work. If the problem isn't the speed, ask IT personnel for information about Wi-Fi configuration on that network — there might be some kind of restriction. I see this problem on my school's library Wi-Fi.
