Strange tags

Hi,
I have an application developed in HTMLDB 1.5 and I imported this into an workspace which is in 1.6.
The application seems to work fine but I see these strange html tags like <script language="JavaS at the bottom of the page. It varies from page to page, sometimes it is like <script lang. This happens when I am in the developer mode.
When I am in the user mode I see tags like </,</t,</tr in one of the report regions. I am not able to figure out the reason as this is not consistent.
Also, when I am navigating from page to page I get a page not displayed error with the URL ending in wwv_flow.accept like "/pls/htmldb/wwv_flow.accept". This is also not consistent, sometimes it happens and sometimes it does not. Is there a problem with that particular package when I installed?
We have a differnt architecture for the HTMLDB 1.6 version. The data and HTMLDB is present on one box and the HTTP server is on the other box. Is this the reason I am getting the page not displayed error??

Hi,
The strange tags issue was resolved. It was due to a conflict of the charset between the HTTP Server and the Database. Fixing the DAD conf resolved the issue.
The page not displayed error I think is browser dependent and I could not simulate the error on other and I also cannot reproduce it again.
So 2 issues solved one more solved, one more to go ie. the one with link all messed up in the report. If anybody has any clue please let me know.

Strange tags in master pages - any idea how they got there?

but I wanted to start a new thread to separate it as its own problem.
I just noticed that when I create a new topic, I see this unusual local formatting tag in HTML view (see below, 4rth line from bottom). This is where the mysterious "TABLEBODY" formatting is originating that I've been plagued throughout my current project.
If I delete the default text in this new topic (in Design mode), this still winds up in the topic when viewing in HTML view (see below, 3rd line from bottom).
When you start adding new text in the topic in Design mode, it attaches itself to your first line of text as local formatting (see below, 9th line from bottom):
When you view the topic in Design mode and place your cursor on the first line of text, you'll see this local formatting TABELBODY display in the syle dropdown (see below).
I decided to open up a new topic using my other master page, and also noticed strange tags in it (<?rh-region_start type="body" ?> ). See below, 3rd and 12th lines from bottom.
Consequently, I finally figured out that both my master pages had junk HTML tags in them, which carried over to all of my topics. I have now fixed the master pages by editing out the junk in the HTML mode.
I did some further investigation and found out that the originating project that was the basis for my current project also had master pages with the same tag issues. So now I'm wondering, how did this start? Maybe someone imported a RH html output file into a project by mistake a long time ago, and it corrupted the master pages right up until this time? Or, could it have been from upgrading from RH 7 to 9?

Boy, this is really getting stranger by the moment...every time I think I have solved a problem in RH, another layer of problems emerges...
I made the minor edits on my two master pages to get rid of the junk tags shown above and did a Save All. Here is the result (see screens below):

That's ALL I touched. However, now when I view any topic using these master pages with either the Preview mode (eyeglass icon) or as a final output file, the default text from those master pages displays on top of the topic. Interestingly enough, the master page text does NOT display in these topics in Design mode.

Strange tags in TaggedText File

Dear, I was wondering if anybody here could help me with this. I'm trying to script the creation if Tagged Text files. In my output however i get the following: <cLanguage:><cFont:><ParaStyle:5-titel><cLanguage:English\: USA><cFont:Times>Fiscaal gezien interessante cinema? Can anybody tell me what makes the first 2 tags (<cLanguage:><cFont:>) come up here and how i could delete them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jo.

Strange Tags in generated Code

I have taken a look at the genered source codes from HTML-DB. There is one thing I don't understand:
There are two additional tags rendered with each input field:

I think i have seen similar tags very often in the code.
Can you tell me what this tag are for?? I really like to know it!

You don't explained what the hidden field exactly is doing. I mean, to get the value, it seems that one field is enough.
2) Do you have a document which describes the html-db in a little better detail, you could send to me? I would be very pleased.
You write public. So a suggested you have other ones, and maybe you could send me some info.
3) Is there something better than the user manual?

HTML tags showing up in the pages also in 2.0?

After a 5 minutes test of our application after an upgrade to 2.0 I found 3 places where html tags is showing in the bottom of the page. Normally its a html tag that is not getting closed. The examples look like this:

We have been telling the customer that these problems would disappear with the new version, but it have not. I know that we were not the only ones with these problems on 1.6. How are you dealing with this? I can not imagine what our customer is going to say when we tell them that we cant use htmldb for the project, especially since we were the ones pushing htmldb.
In release 1.6 the problems were normally only in Internet Explorer and not in Mozilla. I have not been able to check on 2.0, because since the upgrade it is only possible to logon using Internet Explorer. Mozilla gives a script error. :-)

Interactive Report with html tags --- Data saved in Excel with html tags

At runtime, the Interactive Report displays the fonts, colors correctly; however, when I save the data of the Interactive Report in an Excel format, it saves the Html tags along in the EXCEL spreadsheet. For example, the column serial number from the above SELECT statement is extracted in an Excel column as ---

Is there another way to render the column data so that extracted data will not display the HTML tags or is removing the html font color tags from the SELECT statement the only option?

HTTPService or mx:RichTextEditor isn't working well - htmlText

I have a big problem after the HTTPService send the code and stores it in database.
Every time I catch the htmlText from RichTextEditor, he is putting a strange tag. I need to clean these tags.
I send this HTML code (htmlText from RichTextEditor) and store in the database.
In another moment I want to retrieve this code and throw in a TextArea.- this is the objetives, but I had a problem with this.

This problem isn't with Adobe Flex. This problema is because PHP configuration at PHP.ini
When on, all ' (single-quote), " (double quote), \ (backslash) and NULL characters are escaped with a backslash automatically.

Is a tecnique of incripiting by PHP but this feature has been DEPRECATED as of PHP 5.3.0. As my Case.
LOOK the steps
1. Check php.ini into server:
a. Acess: /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini (In my case, i'm working with Linux-Umbuntu)
2. Verify the part that mentioned about eMagic quotes. It need be stay like fallow example:

Errors in Firefox

Hello,
I have always developped my application in Internet Eplorer. But recently I was told that the customer wants to use the application in Firefox. When I began testing the application in Firefox I encountered a strange error which didn't occur in Internet Explorer.
Almost on every page of the application I get the same form of code being displayed at the bottom of it.
For example on page 1, I get this:
first_field('P1_STREET
P1_STREET is the first textfield in the form.
I have the application stored on two different databases on two different machines. What makes it even more odd is that the errors occur only on the customer's machine.
Anyone who has an idea why this happens and what I can do about it?

it looks like I have the same problem. The html source of the report produced by the report server (the Reports Servlet Environment Variables correspond to the version 9.0.2.0.3) has strange tags:

and then the report begins:

those tags in the begining is the cause the browser does not set the page encoding to the UTF-8 and the content of the page is not shown correctly.
Does this mean, that i have upgrage reports on 9ias R2? There is no 'before reports' escape property in report builder, only the 'before report value' property, which is set to the UTF-8 encoding, which seems not to be enough.

Captivate AS3 errors in firefox?

I'm having an issue with AS3 errors coming up on the first slide of my training/quiz in firefox. I am using captivate 4. This is what is showing up:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

The error will not show up in IE.
I have doublechecked my project preferences and it is indeed set to AS3. I have imported a small .swf to each slide with VERY basic animation just simple tweens. There is some actionscript on the imported .swfs such as stop or switch statements. Nothing that is rocket science and it validated in flash. These errors seem to be coming from the captivate program itself. I have to integrate this training into an LMS will these errors mess that up?If anyone had some time or insight I would be very appreciative!

Intrusive Unsolicited Messages from eBilling

I am a member of a Yahoo User group, (Westlakes Recyclers), and my account there is hooked to a virgin.net email (ie nothing to do with BT).
Recently, I sent a routine email to the Moderators of the Group.
Within a few hours I had received a totally unsolicited email from [email protected]
The subject field contents were:
#TAG# [westlakesrecyclers] TAKEN -WHITEHAVEN- Asthma Peak Flow Charts [Incident:100505-xxxxxx]
The main text said it was an automated response, thanked me for contacting them (!!), said my enquiry had been given number....... and "dont reply to this message".
I used to be plagued by this same d****d problem every time I contacted Westlakes Recyclers. Ringing BT resulted in standard buck-passing and non-ownership of the problem. Rather than age prematurely, I eventually gave up, cursing BT.
The problem magically cleared up when a BT customer satisfaction survey was emailed to me and I complained bitterly about it.
And now its started again. Any information and/or help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Dave. Sorry, I'm not BT support - so have no idea about the details. You might want to edit your post to remove your details though .....
I agree, typically spammers in moderated groups are easily dealt with and shouldn't specifically cause an email problem. They usually manage to post a message and try to get people to "buy" items etc, but should get found out and hence banned access from their login details - though a new one is easy to add of course.
I would expect BT won't supply the headers of their received email for security reasons for them to be honest. I expect the #tag# details etc are as Stephanie indicated - the subject is altered so that any future correspondence can be referred to these extra details for a specific user. They probably also have message interrogation rules to move received emails of this type into certain mail queues.
To be frank, it almost looks like the recyclers moderators have passed your post onto BT for some reason or other, maybe a spammer was somehow involved with the article and the mods gave all the details to BT including your details (probably by mistake).
I feel that the recycle mods need to be more forthcoming with extra details. It seems to be they have contacted BT, though why eBilling have got it is a complete mystery - unless the moderator email addresses themselves have been hacked and used by spammers/hackers.
The mail headers to BT should give extra clues, but I don't expect you'll see them as I've alredy mentioned.

Custom Tag - Strange Error!!!

Hi All,
I've a custom tag.. and inside that I simply wrote up one
select query and following that I put one condition like this,

And I am getting one strange error stating
"qryCustomerSelec.cust_categoryt" is undefined... I tried dumping
the query and it worked well..
What I am doing wrong here?...

Strange entry in Cleint tag

I have noticed a strange entry in <Client> tag and I cannot find any reference to it in the docs:

What does this 2=">" mean inside <Cleint> tag?

That weird 2=">" is the result of using the Administration Server to update an obj.conf file that contained a <Client> tag with a syntax error. When the Administration Server writes out obj.conf files, parameters without values (e.g. "enabled") get reformatted as a name="value" pair, where the name is an integer (e.g. 1="enabled"). There was probably a stray double quote and right angle bracket in your <Client> tag.
You should manually remove the 2=">".

Label or tag bug in Maverick. Very strange

Something strange. Today I have realised I don't see tags when I am in open/save dialog of Indesign.
Then I have started to look in other programs with similar succes. Not a single program i have opened didn't showed tags.
Then i right clicked in Safari open dialog on one file and i got option to tag that file. After tagging nothing has changed in finder but miraculously other tags had shown as small dot right of filename. And when i have returned to indesign open dialog all my tags looked as 10.8 os style - coloured name? Other programs are now showing tags but in maverick style, as coloured dot.

I had checked already with changing the date in PSA.....no old request is available.it is empty ...

It is easily visible in DTP monitor to see the request being extracted in load from PSA.
Any other Idea...we are at SP-17.

Untidy HTML code and strange usage of Tags.

RH8 HTML
I've been noticing over pretty much all of my topics that the HTML is quite messy, and various types of tags are being used.
Best example is the use of both the and the very standard tag being used to both achieve bold text, the same is occuring for italic text.
sometimes this is happening at the same time, example: Form Builder
I'm using either CTRL+B or the Bold icon in RH to set off the bold text, and it seems to pick whichever tag it wants at random.
does this happen for everyone....is there anyway to lcean this up automatically somehow....I'm not looking to edit this all manually, and if its not broken I'm not going to try, but I like things to be clean, and this is not clean at all.

Hi,
,,, etc are not (yet) decaprated in HTML and XHTML F,T,S. See http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_font_style.asp, although I think that it's sensible to avoid these tags altogeher.
My solution to this untide HTML is avoid inline styling and above mentiond tags altogeher. Personally, I use span classes for every use, even though separate uses have the same styling, such as field names, page names, paramaters, etc. By creating a separate class for every use, you insure that you can easily change the style of a specific type.
This means ofcourse a rather large style sheet and you cannot use the styling options in RoboHelp itself. But once you're used to that, it actually saves you a lot of time. I've had to change some specific styles more than once and it's much easier to to change a style sheet, than change hundreds of topics with a Find and Replace or by hand.
