Strange vertical lines in iPhone app icon

I've imported a standard non-transparent PNG into Xcode 3.2.3. The icon is displayed just fine in Photoshop, Finder and in Xcode's preview. However, when the icon is built into the app and displayed on both my iPod Touch and in the iPhone simulator, light black vertical lines have appeared, aligned with the left-most and right-most black pixels in my icon.

Has anyone seen this before? What can I do to fix it? I've used this same image with a white background and saw no problems.

Somehow, the problem was fixed (???).
Some additional info about this image:
- Created in Photoshop CS3
- Background color in question is #e6f2ff
- Adjusting the hue of the color to 0 degrees (light red, #ffe6e6) yields a correct-looking icon
- Adjusting the hue BACK to blue #e6f2ff yielded a correct image
- The only different between today and yesterday was that I restarted my OS

I experience strange vertical lines over the text. i belive it started when i updated my firefox to it's latest version
i tried synchronizing me clear view, but it didn't help

it's not the display driver. it's firefox. only happens in this program and only started after F4 and doesn't happen all the time. it's a bug.

Can Iphone Apps icon and Siri be restored?

Lost my iPhone "APPS" icon and "Siri" to speak questions, etc. Can they be restored?

They are a part of iOS and as such cannot be removed.
Check all folders and homescreens for the App Store icon, if it still cannot be found, go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout.
There is no icon for Siri... it is either on or off.
Settings > General > Siri > ON

Iphone app icons disappeared

All my iphone app icons disappeared when I downloaded the new OS system. I can find the apps under "purchased" in Apps, but I am only allowed to open them. There is no cloud icon indicating that I can reinstall them. What should I do?

I want to change my iPhone application icon on run-time, i want to change icon on some event.
I've already tried many things.
Like:
1) run time change info.plist file,

It's working fine on iPhone simulator but, not working on my iPhone Device.

I've also tried to remove old icon and copied new as a old icon name.

Not possible - this info is stored in the bundle, which you can't change. Your only option is adding badges to the icon.
Apple's calendar does it... but they're Apple.

Reason behind the Vertical lines while iphone asleep

Whenever my iphone was asleep for more than 10 or 15 min, some vertical lines appeared on the screen to last only a few seconds and then dissapear. I had no idea why this happened until a couple of minutes ago.
I noticed that although they only lasted a few seconds, it was definitely a pattern.
I now know what is the source of the problem.
*I had configured my iphone to fetch data every 15 min (since my gmail account is not push). As soon as the phone was asleep, whenever it was time for the iphone to fetch data (while asleep), the vertical lines appeared. Now I know that it happens only when I have that option ON, since when I changed it to fetch manually, the lines did not show.*
Any ideas why this happens? Is this a software or hardware issue?

Hi. I recently updated to software vesion 2.0.2 and started to notice the vertical lines you describe. I had never noticed them before. I have spoken to Apple iPhone tech support and they say they have never heard of this issue. They have asked me to do a restore on the phone via iTunes to see if it is a software or hardware issue. If it still happens after restore they told me to go to Apple store to see about a possible replacement. I have tried the resore and so far I haven't noticed the lines but it is early days.
By the way I have noticed the lines appear randomly and sometimes when I receive an email and get the audible signal I can see them.
Let me know how you get on if you try to restore iPhone

Thin vertical lines on Iphone 4 screen.

I have thin vertical lines going down my iphone 4 screen. It started with one line on the far left side of the screen but two more have appeared within the past month. what is wrong with my iphone and can it be fixed?
I have placed an orange outline around the thin lines i speak of.
Please help!

Strange Vertical Line

When I adjust the screen forward on my 15", a blue vertical line appears on the right side of my screen. When I push my display back, the line will sometimes change colors as I begin to push, but then disappear. The line appears more vivid on black backgrounds, i.e. spaces, so I used my mad photoshop skills to recreate what it looks like:

Odd Vertical Lines on Video Apps (Skype, Safari, etc.)

It may be nothing to be concerned about, and its not really annoying or anything, but I just want to make sure this isn't part of a bigger issue.
Sometimes when I am on Skype or watching a video on Safari, these grayish lines (almost looks like static) will appear for about a second and then go away. It almost looks like static sort of. Its kind of hard to describe, but so far I have only noticed it in windows that have video, maybe it is flash related? It happens maybe once every half an hour or so, and it is so quick that I really can't take a screen shot or anything.
Its not really an annoyance, but I am just wondering what might be causing it. Anything to be worried about?

I wish I had better news for you, but you may be on to something. We had two non-Apple LCDs come into my office both of which had vertical lines. It turned out both had power inverter problems. I would try to contact the shipper and whoever had it originally to let them know what happened.

Strange vertical lines across the screen

2-3 weeks before I started getting some vertical lines across my screen which don't show up when I take a screenshot with Grab. So I took a pic with my camera to show the problem.
I have a white 17" iMac 2Ghz with 1GB RAM with Mac OS X 10.5.5

Strange vertical lines - unresponsive phone

Hello! I have an iPhone 4s, and recently a friend dropped it and smashed the screen. I got it repaired, and then I noticed what looked like a broken pixel at the bottom of the screen. After noticing this, my phone has randomly gone black, unresponsive for x amount of time, and then it will flash up with a white screen with strange lines which disappear over an hour or two, leaving me unable to use my phone. It happened again, but I was left with coloured lines such as green and blue vertically on my phone screen. I sent my phone to be repaired by the previous person and they are unable to find anything wrong - what could it be? Many thanks in advance

That you dropped it and you had a 3rd party fix your screen, who probably messed it up even more. Or your phone was damage internally.

Placing iPhone app icons in alphabetical order

Is there a way to place the icons on the iPhone screen in alpha order as they are shown in the iStore Apps page on my PC?
I have tried to do it manually, but they are like greased lightning with a will of their own.

The only way to do this easily is with your phone connected, itunes running, under the applications tab, arrange them there.

How to get rid of white vertical lines on iPhone 5S

After using the panorama feature on my iPhone 5S for the first time today, two pairs of vertical white lines appeared on the screen and won't go away. I haven't dropped it so I don't think that's the problem. I rebooted it and the lines are still there. Any advice?

Strange Vertical lines and pixelation issues with my Powerbook screen...Hel

I have got a problem with mt LCD screen which now permanently displays lines of "dead" pixels, but they can't be dead because they chaneg all the time. If I move a window, I get lots more, which are created by the edge of the window, like a ghosting? Does that make sense?
I have taken a screen grab, but not sure how to feature it in these forums. Anyone got any ideas or know about this problem?
I have had a similar problem with this and other laptops, but it has always been a temporary thing before, when I had overloaded the system or something, and I got 'ghosting' from the trailing edge of a window, but this is permanently there?

I have now attached a monitor to the PB, and it happens on the monitor too...maybe suggesting something wrong with the graphics card or logic board, rather than the screen itself. When I type this message, I get strange red 'ghosting' lines where the cursor moves across the page.It reminds me of the 'Etch-o-sketch' game, where you draw lines, and then wipe them off. I can move a window from left to right and get these ghosting lines. When I move the window back right to left, they erase the lines to the left of the window, but I get more to the trailing right edge of the window...i.e. on the right of the screen.
Scrolling also removes these pixels, but creates new ones elsewhere.
Any ideas?

I'm wondering whether Keynote possible to create the icon like iPhone Apps' icons with the Reflection?
How to do that?

Then, yes, you can. The main part of the "reflection" is just a portion of a circle overlaid on the image with a white gradient. If you put that shape over almost any image, you'll get something really close to the look you're going for. I've uploaded a doc to iWork.com that you can deconstruct to see how it's done.
