Strategy group for MTO - LTP

i want to set-up a separate strategy that will allow me to have the characteristics of strategy 20, but also allow me to input PIRs in MD61. what Requirements type do I put in? BSF, LSF, VSE, VSEB, VSEM, VSEV, VSF, VSFB?

Hi Raf,
If the PIRs are not creted with the Active version then only they will not be part of MRP.
System will consider all the requirements i.e PIRs, Sales Orders etc for Net requiremnts calculation.
For your Question:
The best possible solution could be:
Maintaining the Planning Strategy group with 20 and 10.
At the time of PIR creation use the LSF and for Sales Order creation make sure that the Req.Type KE is selected in rocurement tab page.
Hope this helps..

Siva

  • For  MTO scenario, multi level bom is not working sap afs pp

    Hi Experts,
We are implementing MTO scenario for our client. I have maintained  strategy group for FERT is 40 and strategy group for HALB and ROH are 20.
For single level BOM , requirements is not getting generates properly.
I would like to know What are all the settings is required to create AFS BOM.(single and multi level)
                   Please suggest me.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Deepika.

    Hello Deepika,
As we know AFS materials are planned at SKU level (Grid and stock categories)  you can use AFS MRP (/N/AFS/MD02) only.
Please refer OSS note Note 981747 - FAQ - AFS Production Planning
Question 5 Made-To-Order Planning -Multi-Level (MD50) does not work for AFS Materials and Sales Orders containing AFS materials.
Answer: Made to Order Multi level planning functionality was never enhanced for AFS and hence transaction MD50 is not supported.
    Steps are as,
    1. Create a MTO/PTO sales order for an AFS material.
    2. Run AFS MRP using transaction code /AFS/MD02.
    3. Convert the planned order to production order.

  • PS Material Strategy Group as 21 - reg

    Hello,
For PS materials we are using planning material strategy group as 21.
    Could you explain this clearly???????
purpose and need of 21 while running project MRP???
Speciality of 21 apart from other strategy groups(10,40 and etc)??
pls help me in this regard,,,,,
    Regards,
    Prakash.
    Reward points for useful answer.............

    Hi,
Strategy group of the material determines the requirement class of the material which inturn determines the account assignment, consumption account, special stock, etc.
Strategy group 21 is hard-coded for requirement class 80 which is for MTO project stock.
    Quote from SAP documentation:
    Quote begins:
"SAP has predefined strategy group 21 (with strategy 21) for the link
    between sales documents and projects.
    Notes:
If you do not maintain the strategy group for the material in the sales
and distribution document item, you cannot assign that item to a WBS
    element.
Alternatively, you can assign the strategy group to a material using MRP
    group 0021 (also predefined).
    Requirements Classes
SAP has predefined requirements class 80 with account assignment
category D (assignment to WBS element) for the link between projects and
sales and distribution documents. Requirements class 80 is assigned to
strategy 21 using requirements type KP (also predefined).    "

  • Sales order to consider for MTO scenario

    Hi PP experts
How to ensure the consideration of sales order requirements for MTS or MTO.
Is it possible to distinguish by order types.
I request please indicate the config requirements for this.
    warm regards
    sairam akundi

    Sairam,
I am not sure as to what excatly you are looking for.
However please note the following with respect to sales order requirements for MTO and MTS:
For MTO: The requirements type in the procurement tab of the sales order should be KE or any other requirements type that supports procurement from sales requirements. To be able to enter the KE requirements type in the sales order the material master should have Planning strategy group which suppotrs MTO  Example: 20 which is specified in the MRP3 view.
For MTS: The requirements type in the procurement tab would be KSL or any other which supports make to order. The Planning strategy group for this in material master should be 10.
The configurations for this include the
    1) configuration of the Planning strategy group which contains a list of planning
    strategies allowed.
    2) configuration of individual strategies which combine the requirements types from Production and Sales. The requirements class which is keyed in the requirements type determines excatly how the planning and procurement occurs.
The above configurations are pre-defined in standard SAP. You could change them if you require to.
    Check the configs under:
SPRO>SD>Basic functions>Av check and transfer of requirements.
With the above basic settings, in case of MTO sales order would drive the production. In case of MTS production is carried based on forecast values (Planned independent requiremts irrespective of sales order requirements). The warehouse stock is then allocated to the sales order at the time of delievry.
For more help check the SAP online help on Planning strategies.
    Hope above is useful.

  • Strategy group 50

    Hello Every one,
In my current client I was planning to use strategy gorup 50 but I found some issues about which I was wondering whether anyone could provide clarity.
I am using strategy group for finished product (header material). I have given PIR Qtys for the same and when MRP is run system is automatically raising planned orders of order type LA. Which means the same can be converted to production order and I am able to convert the same.
But as I understand with strategy group 50, you can convert planned orders to production orders only if sales orders exist and
Dependent requirements for lower levels are thrown and can be manufactured but not header material.
So I am not sure why this is happening. Please do provide any inputs.
    Sincerely,
    Aji Kurian Mani

    Dear,
please check IN MD62 for that material, check the requirement type?  It won't be VSE. for startergy 50, PIR requiremnt type should be VSE,
    Reason may be
In MD61 - Check - are you maintained any user parameter in requirement type in MD61

  • Strategy Group

    Hi,
My client is using Strategy group 00 (No Planning/No requirement transfer) and MRP type as M0 for a FG. So will the FG be considered for planning..?? What is the Logic in maintaing like this..??How will the system consider for planning if it is to be considered.
    Regard's,
    Uday.

    Hi,
Material will be taken for planning based on MRP type and Strategy group,
MRP type for EX PD, M1 etc will be used to assgined the type of MRP planning to be done.
MRP strategy group will help further in comparing the demand, for ex Make to stock (10), Make to Order (20), final Assembly planning etc.
    (40)
So it is important to maintian both MRP type and Strategy group for MRP run.
Pl gothro the online help file for further details.

  • MRP run for MTO

    hi gurus
I have a finished product and I have two level BOM for this and I maintained strategy group for the finished and semifinished as 20 and in MRP4 view in the field BOM explosion I have'nt maintained any indicator. When I run mrp in MD02 transaction two planned orders are getting generated for the same item one is for subreq for finished product and one is for sales order.
    Please clarify on this.
    thanks
    ravi

    Hi
To generate Procurement proposal as per Strategy 20. System requires Sale order. See how many sale orders are there for Fert in MD04 .
Do not use Strategy for Dependent requirements and otherwise if you pass PIR to this level. Always use strategy for header material.

  • Which MRP strategy group can be used in my businss?

    Dear,
      the below is my business.
Wk1:this week-we will receive the order confirmation from customer
    WK2:production week
    WK3:sales delivery week
    Wk1.4: thursday of this week.
WK1.4:receive the order confirmation, and wk2.4 will plan the detailed production planning(VSF) for every day,WK3.4 will create the sales order and delivery the goods to customer.
Now wk1.4 upload the IndReq VSF for every day of WK2,  when i create the sales order on wk3.4,it will consume the IndReq VSF from wk3.4 to wk2, but i want to consume only wk2, not include wk3 IndReq VSF.
my current strategy group is 40, consumption mode: 1,backward .
Are there other available strategy group for my business?
    Thanks in advance.

For resolving your problem Pl do the following settings in customization
    Define new requiremnt type
Define new requirement class for PIR in which set indicators, PI 1, ConsI (No consumption) and requirement category 1
Assing requirement class to requirment type
Define new strategy and assign new req type to PIR type
Define a strategy group whcih would be cobination of startegy (40 + new)
Assign this strategy group in the material mster

  • MTO REM - Strategy Group 81

    Dear, all
I have a MTO scenario for my REM. I use strategy group 81 for my finished material. However upon Backflush via MFBF, the system tells me that "No preliminary costing possible with unval. make-to-order production". How can this be possible, since I have used strategy 81, where stock is valuated. I have also inputted in the accounting tab of the material a valuation class. How do I fix this error?

    Dear,
In REM scenario when the product cost collector is created in KKF6M/KKF6N.
Standard cost estimate will be done only once in a period and this cost can be marked and released to
the material master. This can be achieved through CK40N or else through CK11N and CK24
In Strategy 81 you get the planned order created when sales order is created.
Then do the backflushing from MFBF against the sales order from Make to order tab against sales order/planned order.
    Please try and come back.

    R.Brahmankar

  • Transfer of data from R/3 to APO for strategy group

    Hi,
Can we transfer materials from R/3 to APO that donot have R/3 strategy group 10, 40, 50, 60, 70?
I am trying to transfer a material with MRP type Z4. Everything else is maintained properly but the material doesn't show up in APO. The plant is transferred, the setting in CFC9 is 2 and the no blocks in SMQ. I tried CFP1 as well but it not even collected there. The message type CIFMAT is checked and ALE change pointer checked in BD 61.
    Thanks.

    Hi
Just to recheck what you have written, Planning without final assembly should be Proposed Strategy 30 in APO. Has the config in your APO system been amended or did you mistype?
If it was strategy 70 in R/3 then there is a note which would have been relavant I think:
[Note 711107 - Transfer strategy group 70 to SAP APO without manual changes|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/711107]

  • Release Group for PR Release Strategy

    Hi ,
When i am trying to define new "Release Group" AA , with Class "Z_PR" (it has Plant and Item Value as charcteristics ) , I am receiving message "Please Check Release Classes" , Message no. ME492.It doesn't allow me to save this new release group.
Please also note that other two release Groups are already available.
Do u know what I am missing  and how can I save my Release group ?
ALSO as per the LONG text of this prompted message
    "Diagnosis
Here you can assign release groups to release classes. Only one release class should be used within the release groups for overall release and the release groups without overall release in each case. However, in this instance several release classes have been used."
    What does it mean ?
    Sandeep

    Hi,
The message has explained the problem.
You cannot have two classes for the same document release and you are tryng to break this rule by adding another entry (the fact that you have give it a different release group does not make any difference this is still another class for the same document.)
You should be able to do what you want without the need for a new release group or additional class, after all everyone else that uses SAP is using one class per document.
Why diod you think that you needed another release group / class?

  • SOP and transfer to Demand management for MTO material

    Hi all,
    I have the following situation:
I have a material, a finished goods product with planning strategy 20 Make to order defined in the material master. I enter a sales forecast for the material in SOP in SAPECC (transaction MC87), works fine.
But when I try to release the forecast to Demand Management (MC74), I get the following error message: "No requirements type exists for material 110100 1 in plant 2". I can see that planning strategy 20 MTO does not have any requirement type defined.
But what is the best practice then to forecast on MTO materials (with strategy 20 MTO)?
What I want to do is to bring down the requirements of the MTO material to Long term planning to get a BOM explosion for the components. I realize that I should not start a production plan for the MTO material, but I want to plan the requirements for components several months ahead.
What is the best practice? Should I use a different production strategy? Am I missing config or any fundamental thinking here?
I need to have the material as a MTO strategy, but I want to plan the components.
Please, give me input on this if you have any solution.
    Regards,
    Lars

    Hi Lars,
Here's what you need to do:
    1. Instead of pure 20, customize a strategy group that has in it 20 and 10, and attach this strategy group to your material.
    2. In MC74 specify requirements type LSF, demand management version, and make sure to uncheck the "active" box (otherwise you will get requirements in the operative system, and not only in LTP).
    3. Do the transfer, and include the version in a LTP scenario.
    Regards,
    Mario

  • Different strategy Group

    Dear PP Gurus ,
           I m created a Material No with Strategy group 50 .
Then i m created Plan Number  For This Material using MD61 Tcode .
Then i m created Planned Order also for This material.
Both the Values, Plan Number And Planned Order number Are Stored in Plaf Table .
But i m created Another Material Number with strategy group 10 Means , In Plaf table Only Stored Planned Order Number .
Plan Number is not Updated .
Why Plan Number is Not Updated in Plaf Table ?
Anythink Mistakes From ABAPer Or Functional .
    Explain Me.....
    Warm Regards ,
    GJ

    Hi
This is standard functionality and not an error.
Strategy 50 is related to MTO type of production.
Planned independent requirements that are planned using this particular strategy 50 are listed in a separate segment in the MRP list. The planned orders are created with the order type VP and are unconvertible. The sales orders for this strategy are entered as individual customer requirements and are maintained in a separate segment in the planning run.
Strategy 10 is related to MTS type of production and Planned orders can be used interchangebly for any requirement. For this reason plan number is not updated in PLAF table.

    Krishna Mohan
