Streams configuration not applied in destination

I have configured the source and destination databases as given the document
http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/04-nov/o64streams.html
There were no erros while configuring the databases.
After inserting the row in the emp table neither i have received error (on both source and destination) nor inserted the row in the destination table.
how to see the errors and where it got struck etc?
Thanks,
Bhaskar

I have exactly the same issue. I am very new to streams.

  • Streams configuration multiple source-single destination

    hi all,
can we configure streams capturing changes from multiple source databases and applying at single destination?
to configure table level replication is it mandatory to enable suppliment logging foe enrire database?
is it possible to configure streams without setting GLOABAL_NAMES parameter to TURE.?
if i enable table level suppliment logging ,will my dependent objects on the table go invalid?
there may be some silly questions,PLease answer my questions.

    >
can we configure streams capturing changes from multiple source databases and applying at single destination?yes you can, just should care about conflict resolution when multiple source tables are replicated into the same destination table.
to configure table level replication is it mandatory to enable suppliment logging foe enrire database?no, you can have it for specific tables, which are replicated.
is it possible to configure streams without setting GLOABAL_NAMES parameter to TURE.?yes, you can, but it's error-prone and will be every time pointed by Oracle Support in case of any streams problems.
if i enable table level suppliment logging ,will my dependent objects on the table go invalid?why? I didn't catch it.

  • Data are not being applied at destination side

    Hi all,
I have implemented real time streams replication(not archive log based downstream replication).

Capture and propagation is working fine. DBlinks are also fine. Apply process is running , but data are not being applied in destination side.

I have two faults! 1, an error comes up in Ps CC 2014 "could not apply the saved panel configuration, restring to default and my tools have disappeared completely and anything ive tried I cannot get them back not even the drop down menu in 'window' helps at all. And 2, Lr everytime I load it up it gives me the option to retry or switch to and it takes a while for me to even get anywhere with it I think it has something to do with the catalogs? I've been using these programs for a few years now on a Mac...no problem but when I use a PC when I'm away coz it's the (only) comp available these happen PC's are so useless! Please can anyone help??...

I can give a few suggestions on Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom is a separate forum and you should ask Lr questions there.
    First close Photoshop.
Then start Photoshop by double-clicking on it's icon and very quickly after that, hold down the ctrl-alt-shift keys until you see the reset dialog. answer "Yes" to delete settings, and let Photoshop continue to load.
It's tricky to do and may take a few tries, but at least it should reset Photoshop CC 2014 to defaults.

  • Archive logs are being shipped, but are not applied

    Hi everyone,
Some strange things are happening when I try to configure an Oracle Data Guard setup. Currently I am at the point where the configuration has been completed, and I just need to sync the standby database to the primary one. I can see in the log files that the archive logs are being shipped, but they are not applied on the standby system.
If I run "recover standby database;" manually in sqlplus I can see that it is trying to apply an archive log which is way too old (ORA-00279: change 9656498443 generated at 04/29/2008 08:45:08 needed for thread 1).
In the alert log I can also see this error: Warning: Recovery target destination is in a sibling branch of the controlfile checkpoint. Recovery will only recover changes to datafiles.
At this point I was thinking that the standby database might be on a different incarnation compared to the primary, but this is not the case, they are both in incarnation 6:
    6       6       MVF      4023175798       CURRENT 48493546257 13-06-21
Does anyone have an idea how this could happen, and how I could fix this issue?
    Thanks, JM.

The restore did not cause any errors to be displayed, so I assumed everything was ok.
    That's fair enough.
One thing I think might cause this behaviour is that the backup on the primary database is incremental,
Yes...that may be an issue.  Best bet is to re-run your standby creation.....as you are doing.
With version 11gR2 you also have the option of duplicate from active database which negates the need to copy your backupsets over to do the restore:  I find it a much simpler process than the rman backup, copy files over, restore and then recover process.
    http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g/data-guard-setup-11gr2.php
    Something worth considering.

    Regards!

    Hello again;
So I both servers log_archive_dest_1 is not set?
    The Oracle example is
    Primary
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1= 'LOCATION=/arch1/chicago/VALID_FOR=(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=chicago'
    Standby
    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1='LOCATION=/arch1/boston/VALID_FOR=(ALL_LOGFILES,ALL_ROLES) DB_UNIQUE_NAME=boston'
If a fast recovery area was configured (with the DB_RECOVERY_FILE_ DEST initialization parameter) and you have not explicitly configured a local archiving destination with the LOCATION attribute, Data Guard automatically
uses the LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_1 initialization parameter (if it has not already been set) as the default destination for local archiving. Also, see Chapter 15 for complete LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_n information.
My take is since you are not using FRA this parameter is not defined by default. I would probably set it on both, but frankly I'm not sure this will solve your issue. If it does I would sure like to know about it so i can add it to my notes.
    Not related to your issue
Would consider setting standby_file_management to 'Auto' on both.
Would consider setting log_archive_dest_state_2 to 'DEFER' on the Standby.
    Best Regards

  • What user does Oracle Streams use to apply?

Hello all,I  have specified the apply_user in my stream configuration. But when I trap the user using a trigger on the streamed table. I get 'SYS' as the user who tried to replicate the record on target, not the one I specified in apply_user parameter of dbms_apply_adm.alter_apply. Any ideas why?

    Hi,
Check "APPLY_USER" column from DBA_APPLY view to see what schema is being used to Apply the changes
    Thanks,
    Renu

  • ANy thing special for Streams configuration in RAC?

We are going to configure streams in a 2 node RAC environment.
when the node goes down on which CAPTURE or APPLY or PROPAGATE runs, does it automatically failover to available to node? What kind of extra configuration should be taken care specifically for RAC to handle this scenario?

I do run Streams on RAC and on non-RAC. Only thing that changes is that the node that processes the Streams is determined by the queue table node ownership and remember that v$ views will be empty on the node where the streams are not running.

  • MBean Attribute (Does not apply to application modules)

Can any one tell what this mean ?
MBean Attribute (Does not apply to application modules) :
is this means that it wont help for datasources for any J2EE application ????
    Inactive Connection Timeout
The number of inactive seconds on a reserved connection before WebLogic Server reclaims the connection and releases it back into the connection pool.
You can use the Inactive Connection Timeout feature to reclaim leaked connections - connections that were not explicitly closed by the application. Note that this feature is not intended to be used in place of properly closing connections.
When set to 0, the feature is disabled.
MBean Attribute (Does not apply to application modules) :
    JDBCConnectionPoolParamsBean.InactiveConnectionTimeoutSeconds
    Minimum value: 0
    Maximum value: 2147483647

Yes!, they do not apply for any applications they are management interfaces, internal to weblogic.
Below is the brief information about it:
A managed bean (MBean) is a Java bean that provides a Java Management Extensions (JMX) interface. JMX is the J2EE solution for monitoring and managing resources on a network.
BEA WebLogic Server provides a set of MBeans that you can use to configure, monitor, and manage WebLogic Server resources through JMX. This reference document organizes WebLogic Server MBeans into the following categories:
MBeanServer Services, which serve as your entry point into navigating the MBean hierarchies. Some of these MBeans contain attributes and operations for managing changes to WebLogic Server configuration MBeans.
Configuration MBeans, which expose attributes and operations for configuring WebLogic Server resources.
Runtime MBeans, which provide information about the runtime state of its resources.
New MBeans, which have been added in the current release of WebLogic Server. These new MBeans are also listed in other categories in this document (for example, new runtime MBeans are also listed under the Runtime MBeans category).
Deprecated MBeans, which are deprecated in the current release of WebLogic Server.

  • Capture streaming does not work after upgrade of the source database.

    Hello,
We have a complex system with 2 X RAC databases 10.2.0.4 (source) and 2 X single databases (target) 11.2.0.2
Streaming is running only from source to target.
After upgrading RAC databases to 11.2.0.2 , streaming is working only from one RAC to one single database.
First RAC streaming is flowing to first single database only, and second RAC to second single only.
First source-target is streaming fine, second capture are aborted just after starting with following errors:

krvxerpt: Errors detected in process 198, role reader.
We have 5 streaming processes running.
When we rebuilded one of them, everything works fine, but other are too big for rebuilding.
Has anybody met with such a behaviour ?
Oracle development is already working on it but we need faster solution.
    Thanks

What exactly did you reinstall? I am experiencing the same problem.

  • Complete Removal of Stream Configuration in 9.2

Could any one send me the script for complete removal of streams configuration in oracle 9i database. I faces a lot of error while creating stream configuration.

    Hi,
Agree with Willard Martin. If you want to a DAG member, you need to remove database copies first, then you can remove the Mailbox Server from the DAG.
Here is a related article for your reference. Even though this article is for Exchange 2013, it also applies to Exchange 2010.

  • UDI wizard is not applying TimeZone setting (MDT2013)

    Hi All,
I am working on MDT2013 to create Windows7-64bit Image for OEM vendor. Note:- I am not using any SQL database.
I have customized the UDIWizard_Config.xml where it should ask for UIlanguage, Inputlocale and Timezone. I am calling this UDI wizard xml in Tasksequence after gathering locally here the problem is after completing the build its not applying the Timezone
    setting in image.
Any one aware about this issue? why UDI wizard is not applying the Timezone setting in image?
I have attached the below UDI wizard XML. please answer and ask if you require any more details..

  • I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied.

I have one problem with Data Guard. My archive log files are not applied. However I have received all archive log files to my physical Standby db
I have created a Physical Standby database on Oracle 10gR2 (Windows XP professional). Primary database is on another computer.
In Enterprise Manager on Primary database it looks ok. I get the following message “Data Guard status Normal”
But as I wrote above ”the archive log files are not applied”
After I created the Physical Standby database, I have also done:
    1. I connected to the Physical Standby database instance.
    CONNECT SYS/SYS@luda AS SYSDBA
    2. I started the Oracle instance at the Physical Standby database without mounting the database.
    STARTUP NOMOUNT PFILE=C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initluda.ora
    3. I mounted the Physical Standby database:
    ALTER DATABASE MOUNT STANDBY DATABASE
    4. I started redo apply on Physical Standby database
alter database recover managed standby database disconnect from session
    5. I switched the log files on Physical Standby database
    alter system switch logfile
    6. I verified the redo data was received and archived on Physical Standby database

    Please help me!!!!

    Hi,
After several tries my redo logs are applied now. I think in my case it had to do with the tnsnames.ora. At this moment I have both database in both tnsnames.ora files using the SID and not the SERVICE_NAME.
Now I want to use DGMGRL. Adding a configuration and a stand-by database is working fine, but when I try to enable the configuration DGMGRL gives no feedback and it looks like it is hanging. The log, although says that it succeeded.
In another session 'show configuration' results in the following, confirming that the enable succeeded.
    DGMGRL> show configuration
    Configuration
    Name: avhtest
    Enabled: YES
    Protection Mode: MaxPerformance
    Fast-Start Failover: DISABLED
    Databases:
    avhtest - Primary database
    avhtestls53 - Physical standby database
    Current status for "avhtest":
Warning: ORA-16610: command 'ENABLE CONFIGURATION' in progress
It there anybody that experienced the same problem and/or knows the solution to this?

  • ZCM 11 Group Policies not applying to satellite servers

    Hi there
We are running 2 Windows 2012 Primary Servers and a SQL 2012 Database server at our main site, all remote sites have SLES11 SP2/OES11 SP1 as satellite servers. We upgraded all servers last weekend to 11.3.1 and now have an issue with Group Policies applying to the satellites. The satellites are all set up the same with Authentication, Collection, Content and Imaging roles.
Since we upgraded Group Policies are (99% of the time) not applying on satellite sites. I have tried manually replicating content (I assume policies will come from content replication?) to the satellites - I've done this with a zac cdp replicate and zac cvc and everything seems to replicate over however I tried highlighting a satellite server and clicking on Action, Specify Content - select the Policy that is not applying and move it into the selected Content to update column and when I click finish I get the error "The Wizard cannot continue for the following reason(s): Unable to complete your request for the following reason: Error updating content"
On a managed device at the satellite site if you look at the properties of the Zenworks agent and click on Policies it has applied 4 device assigned policies successfully - Remote Management, Power Management, Application Launcher Config and Application Control Policy, also has successfully applied 3 out of the 4 User Assigned Policies - Mandatory Profile, Dynamic Local User, Application Control - but not the Windows Group Policy.
Our PCs are on Windows 8.1 and all policies were applying fine before the weekend upgrade......
Has anyone else had any experience of Group Policies not applying that could point me where to look? I have logged an SR with Novell through our reseller but as yet I am getting no response back at all, not even asking me for more information.
    Many thanks
    Sharon

Sounds like you have a content replication issue more than a GPO issue.
Especially if the GPO works for locations that point to the Primaries
    for Content.
Do you have throttling configured anywhere in any fashion?
You may need to increase the Replication Timeout to make sure content is
getting over to the Sats. Often increasing from 60 to 240 helps, but
watch out for throttling preventing content replication.
It is possible things are backing up.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2 - ALL HF's Failing to install as "Does Not Apply to this computer"

    Hi,
A general question about hot fix installs.
I have multiple servers that are all Windows 2012 R2. They do not have internet connections, so I have to install the Hotfixes manually. I download the HF's from the ISO download page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/913086) every month. I collect them and install in a bulk install during a release cycle ( a couple times a year). I just realized that NO HF's have installed since JUNE 2014. Every HF that shows up in WindowsServer2012R2 directory fail to install with a message of "The update is not applicable to your computer". Which is fine if that was true, but.... I get this message for every HF from the ISO's since June 2014. NOT one HF thinks it is applicable to my computer. Could that be the case? No HF's apply to my Server 2012 systems since June of 2014?
This is my system info, and below that is the results from attempting to install 95 HF's.
