Strip down my portal deployment

If I am not using Portal features such as Discounts, Campaigns, Event Tracking
etc - can I strip my portal EAR down so that these do not get deployed. What files
can I safely delete if all I am using is Page Flow Portlets and Web Services Portlets?

I am receiving an error message "Error: 150:30" after having my computer serviced.
Repair shop completely stripped down my machine and reloaded Operating system, Yosemite 10.10.1.
I tried to download a Licensing update, but can't get that to open.????
My machine had originally been a clone of another Mac. Not it looks like a brand new computer.
Possibly there is something in system preferences to change? I turned off Firewall and allow downloads from all parties.
    Thank You for you help!
    joe

150:30 means the licensing failed. Photoshop can't be moved like other programs from another drive or from backup.
I would suggest a reinstall to fix it. Anytime you move Photoshop from from drive to another, it breaks licensing. A install is the quickest way. to fix it.
When you are done with the install, apply all CS4 updates.  Product updates

  • Creating a stripped down 11i version  (thin version of 11i for testing)

    I have a clone of the 11i (11.5.9 )
For our testing and small time development purposes
We want to Strip down the 11i instance. I mean to say we keep only a few records just to keep all kind of permutation combinations but not more then that (So instead of having 4000 Employess we might eventually have only 40 and so on.. )
How to purge tables keeping this in view. Our aim is to make a thin version of the 11i production instance.
    Sunil Choudhary

You can't do this. The relational integrity issues would be a nightmare (16,000 + tables and integrity maintianed by forms & code). Oracle's stand on it is "disk is cheap". There are some 3rd party products that do this but are likely expensive and would take considerable time to implement. I would not recommend even attempting this.

  • Portal Deployment with Workshop?

Currently we do not have a clear picture, in the context of portal deplyment, on how codes developed on developer machines can be pushed and deployed in DEVT server.
We have done numerous Web app projects on WL in the past and are aware of the usual migration practices and norms.
But in the context of portal deplyment, we understand that each time when a developer creates an entity,e.g., a portlet, workshop will register the portlet definition id into WL system tables.
So right now, we cannot simply just migrate things to SIT like we used to in the previous Web App project.
Thinking of implementing either of the following alternatives:
    1. No workshop to be installed in DEVT server
    - CVS check-in developers' codes into a mapped-drive that is accessable by the developers.
    - Afterwhich they will do a compilation of checked-in codes from their own machines.
    - At same time, also from their own machines, they will effect the
portlet definitions ids to weblogic sys tables in SIT.
    - Portal Deployment and testing in DEVT server.
    OR
    2. Workshop to be installed in DEVT server
    - CVS check-in developers' codes into a mapped drive that is accessable by the developers.
    - Then, via extra-X, the developers will access the DEVT server and start a workshop there to do compilation of checked-in codes.
    - At the same time, the portlet definition ids will be effected to weblogic sys tables in SIT.
    - Portal Deployment and testing in DEVT server.
My above concepts might not be 100% right. Is there pro and cons of each method above? And is there any 'best practice' around to resolve above mentioned?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
I am affraid that it is not posible to install Oracle Portal on a 10.1.3.x app server. Oracle Portal is based on java 1.4 and thus only runs on a java 1.4 based app server, eg as 10.1.2.x. App server 10.1.3.x is based on java 1.5.

  • While using 6.0 this afternoon it suddenly dissappeared and was replaced by a stripped down version of 5.0 with no addons or bookmarks !!!

While using 6.0 this afternoon it suddenly dissppeared and was replaced by a stripped down version of 5.0 with no addons or bookmarks !!! That's it ... just gone and replaced ... nothing in c:\program files except 5.0 ...

@[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/user/160087 verdi]: thanks for your helpful suggestions. The "fix" (actually a kludge, but I gotta work with what F5 and my employer give me) was:
    # Install/run latest Firefox 3 (despite there being [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/932269 no 64-bit version for linux]) using [https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzDAFHgIxRzKbmJDUGZqTzhfbDg this bash scriptlet].
    # Create a [https://docs.google.com/open?id=0BzDAFHgIxRzKQjRyQndqUTJpRXM run script] to start firefox so that one can
#* choose the appropriate profile (I was unable to set it from the script without startup error)
#* run multiple instances (I don't want 3.x firefox touching my uplevel profile)
    # Run Firefox 3.x with the runner, then point it to my employer's site to install the [http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_apm/manuals/product/apm_compatibility_matrix_10_2_1.html F5 Network Access Plugin] (restarting firefox as required).
The gnome-terminal tab from which I invoke the runner spews a bazillion "wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64" errors, but the plugin runs, and I can SSH normally (though more slowly) to servers on the VLAN from another terminal tab.

  • Stripes down the center of pictures when I print them

When I print 4 pictures on a page, I get a stripe down the center of the bottom two pictures  the material printed on the stripe is from the right hand side of the picture.  One stripe (lower left picture) is 3/8" wide; the stripe on lower right is only 1/8" wide.  This effectively ruins the print.  It started about 3 weeks ago.  Today I printed pictures again and it's still there.  I just installed both black and colored ink.

Hi @teleklier , and welcome to the HP Forums!
I see you are having issues printing pictures. I'd like to help!
Does this issue occur when making a copy?
I'd recommend removing the ink cartridges, and performing a power reset.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would also suggest downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Verizon Orders Note 2 From Samsung Stripped Down

So, I call to find out why my hotspot won't connect to a laptop and I get transferred to 3 Verizon techs.  They couldn't answer the question so they called Samsung for support.  After talking to two Samsung techs they finally transfer me to the top guy.  He says the hotspot isn't an application that they put on the phone so I need to contact Verizon.  It would've been nice if the first Verizon rep knew that.  Ridiculous.  Oh, and nobody can figure out why I can't connect to a laptop.  Good times.
While on the phone I decide to ask the Samsung rep why the Verizon model is stripped down compared to it's competitors.  Come to find out, according to the Samsung rep, Verizon orders the phone from Samsung and tells them how they want it equipped ( I can just imagine that conversation...Samsung please remove your calendar widget and other widgets from your phone before I will sell it on our carrier...let me fill it with our bloatware, brand it as our own, oh yeah remove the Google apps from an android phone so they can't be used with the multi-task view, and please remove other features and settings so we can sell our customers a stripped down version).  Samsung allows Verizon to take off these features, settings, and widgets at their disposal.  It's so disappointing to know we have a stripped down version of the baddest phone on the market.

4.1.2 was pushed to my G Note 2  on 5/10.   Since then, I have had nothing but problems.   Sitting at my office with WIFI  on, I get no inbound calls despite having 2 bars of signal (I just get notifications that I have a voicemail.)  I can also receive text messages but can only get messages out possibly 1 out of every 10 tries. Had tech on phone today for an hour.  They had me shut phone down, remove battery and SIM for 2 minutes.  Tech was making various unidentified changes on their end, then had me re-install and turn on phone.   Test call responded with 'Mobile Network Not Found' despite 2 to 4 bars of signal.  Tech asked if Mobile data was on and I said no.  Tech had me turn wifi off, and Mobile data on.  At that point I tried calling my phone and was able to get through.   Test call still failed.    Tech had me power phone down and back on after some additional unknown changes.   Test call to #832 worked so tech felt problem was now solved.   Unfortunately.....not really.   Some disturbing comments from the tech:    Backup Assistant will not function over WIFI, so you're forced to use valuable mobile data.   Verizon will not support any WIFI functionality, so if they can make something work with mobile data they feel they're covered.   This sets up a great scenario where they can interfere with WIFI at will and force you to using mobile data.

  • Stripped down docs? I think infos are handy

Yes yes i know arch is a minimalist no-newbie distro, and that's why i
like it! i by no mean think i'm a linux expert, nor a newbie, though,
and how did i learn (and keep learning) what i know? reading docs
of course! i think that info and doc sections are in many cases great
learning tools, and it'd be easier to rm them if someone does't like
'em rather than being forced to find 'em on net when needed. would be the
packages so much larger? i think that the time i save when
downloading a pac w/out info pages i'll spend later searching infos on
gnu web site. and when on modem connection this is quite
frustrating. so in the end i suggest that if packages are to be kept
stripped down, the relative infos and docs could be made available
easily on arch site, so one can download them (maybe a pacman option
could be handy?). i end with a sample from tar manpage: "The  GNU
folks, in general, abhor man pages, and create info documents instead.
The maintainer of tar falls into  this  category.   This  man page  is
neither complete, nor current, and was included in the Debian Linux
packaging of tar entirely to reduce the frequency with which  the lack
of  a man page gets reported as a bug in our defect tracking system.
If you really want to understand tar, then you should run info and
read the tar info pages, or use the info mode in emacs."
    BTW: Arch is great!

Dusty wrote:I personally don't think you should blame them. Writing documentation is not fun, and I assume nobody's getting paid to do it.  I'm trying to document some of my problems and solutions as I get Arch set up; that's the best I can personally do for the project.
why can't i ? i put in many many many long hours in when i was maintaining packages and that is just as thankless a job.
not to mention i have put in lots of time at this forum and answered or seen answered repeated question. this is every forum regular's bain and is easily solve with current docs.
if i could spend 8 hours or more a day seven days a week then it is not much to ask a doc developers to at least long in for an hour on the forum and whip together a few faqs.
because they are not getting paid means nothing to me. they voluteered for the job and if they felt that they could not do it then they should resign and giv ethe job to someone like that is eager to contribute.
and by no means come back after an absence of months and intentionally try and aggrivate someone working hard to expand the horizons of arch. nope i am sorry but the doc developers are as useless as tits on a bull.
You let people govern which distro you choose?
yes i see arch straying away from some of the things that were impressed upon me that would not change. my policies did not change and my approach did not change. so when you are not longer comfortable in what you do and use whether it is your doing or others whyu continue?
I haven't heard of crux... I'm going to look it up right now. I can't imagine anything better than Arch, but it's always good to search.
Edit:  Crux looks more "beta" than Arch to me, from their site, but that's just a quick impression.
why because it has a very simple web page? because it does not have dependency solving?
crux is as actively developed as arch and their developers are all active in the community. they have a more vibrant community in many ways. and they are keeping their k.i.s.s. philosophy.

  • White stripe down MBA screen?

I sat down to update the MBA to 10.5.6 yesterday and rebooted before I started (never hurts) - while on some of the splash screens (before login) there appeared a flickering white stripe down the display about an inch wide, just to the left of center. Looked to me like a set of vertical pixel drivers stuck in the ON state. Went away before the login, and didn't come back during the update, but happened again in the auto reboot after the update.
I tried searching the forum, but didn't see anything like this, although there were some posts about thin white stripes. Am I having a unique problem, or is this something already known about? I'm sure I would have heard from my wife, the normal user, if that had happened during regular use, so maybe it's a boot up issue?
    Thanks!

It show the uniformity of the display best if the display is showing with 50% gray. If you have a faint stripe on the display, it might show up. Just create a jpeg file that only contains 50% gray, and use preview to do a slideshow at full screen. If you can't see anything, your MBA should be fine.

  • HT201406 Ipod has orange stripes down the screen. SICK OF THE BS.

So I literally feel like I am about to hurl out of frustration. My Ipod 4 maybe 5, or 6 I really dont know, has been fine for about a year. Then one day I turn it on, the screen becomes unresponsive within 5 seconds of use and there are very very faint orange stripes down the background of the screen. I will say that my annoying brothers of mine cracked the screen once about 8 months ago, but it has been working perfectly even since then until about a month ago. I have tried to restore through itunes because it is obviously impossible to do it on the ipod itself, but OF COURSE I cant even find the freaking summary button which apparently leads to restore on 11.3.1. I'm at wits-end with this thing, and am ready for it to be FIXED, NOT REPLACED. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE someone help me. Its IRRITATING and I am really just done with being frustrated.

  • Portal Deployment

    Hi,
Is there any specific reason that we need to deploy portal (even for 8.1) on both admin and managed servers?
    Thanks,
    Ajay

The reason you have to deploy the portal app to the admin server is so that the portal database can update itself. The .portal, .portlet etc files are read and loaded into the database when the portal app is deployed to the admin server.
You can shut down the admin server as Srini mentioned, but then you cannot create entitlements. If you need to work with the portal admin tool, you need the admin server up, so that the changes can get replicated through your cluster.
