Structure or Workbook or?

In a report I have 5 keyfigures which will be shown based on a char=customer and a condition where applied amount = 0.
beneath this
In the same exact report for the same selection, only the condition should be applied amount <> 0.
Is this even possible? I am thinking of using 2 seperate queries and embedding them in a workbook. But the users might want it on the same sheet. How can one tackle this?
Thanks

xcaliber,
Chekc if the below idea works....
You are displaying keyfigure values in a column. hide it. In a new formula, give the condition applied amount > 0 then applied amount. In another new formula, write appllied amount <> then applied amount. this will give you two column side by side where you will be displaying both the conditions separatelt. The customer whoc doesn't satisy the condition will have blank cell.

You need an enclosure/adapter that acccpts a SATA drive and has a USB 2.0 interface to the host computer. There are plenty of them available.  I do business with NewEgg, so here's a link to some they sell, but I'm not trying to drum up any business for them.

  • Workbook in 3.5 version is not reflecting with changes made to structure

    Hi Guys,
I have changed a structure in a query by removing reference in Query Designer 7.0 by adding couple of fields and Query is displaying newly added fields in 3.5 Bex Analyzer.
This query is used in a 3.5 vers workbook, but this workbook is not showing the newly added fields from the structure. While refreshing the Query in the workbook getting warning as structure has been changed and it does not exist.
Can anyone pls suggest some solution so that newly added fields gets visible in the workbook.

    Hi,
In workbook design mode, try to attach same query again & then Save & execute, because from error it seems that workbook is able to sense changes in structure but unable to reflect those in workbook.
This this would resolve you problem.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • 'Structure Changed' Error when running a query

    Hi,
I created a query with 2 structures. One structure for the time periods and one with Key figures (Calc and Restricted).
The query ran fine and subsequently I put this into a workbook which had other queries and made a workbook type report.
I modified the structure with the key figures recently and when I run the query now a popup box appears saying "warning; structure changed" and lists down the query elements that I changed, and subsequently the query does not run (no data is displayed).
But if I open the same query in design mode and do nothing and run the query again (with the same input parameters), it runs ok.
Please advise on how I can sort this out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Dominic

    Hi,
If you want, you can remove the query with 'Remove Query' option in the BEx toolbar and then re-insert the query and then save the changes to the workbook. The next time, you refresh the workbook you won't get any such messages.
    Thanks

  • SharePoint List Filter to narrow a folder structure

    Hello,
The company I work for has a document library containing folders for each of their hundreds of clients.  The current process now is to load all of the folders in alphabetical order in order so that the users can scroll through and find the correct client
relatively quickly.  This takes longer than it should considering how many folders need to load.
I was trying to utilize the SharePoint List Filter to pull the Title column so the users could filter based on the name and we wouldn't need to pull all of the data each time the library was opened, but it seems that the title and name columns don't hold
their connection to the list.  Each time I attempt to set the connections and then use the filter, I get the "This filter is not connected" error.
Is it possible to use this web part in this manner (or is there another web part that will work) or should I suggest moving to meta data instead of a folder structure if they want speed of use?
    Thank you in advance!

    Hi,
Based on your description, my understanding is that you want to you want filter the document library by the title column so that the users could filter based on the name and don’t need to pull all of the data each time the library was opened.
    Refer to the following steps:
Open your document library-> choose Export to Excel->in excel, click insert PivotTable,
create a pivot table in Excel -> use  Report filters
To filter the title column->save it and upload it to a document library
Then create a new page in SharePoint  and add the Excel Web Access web part and configure it to display your workbook, (or you can add the Excel Web Access web part in your document library and configure it to display your workbook) Now
you can filter the document library by the title column.
Here is a link about how to Create a pivot table in Excel 2010:

  • Fiscal year in the columns outside the key figure structure

    Dear Experts
I have a report requirement to show the keyfigures in the columns from year 1 to year 10 and in each year there are 4 keyfigures each restricted to 1 quarter for 4 quarters.
So, there are too many keyfigures to create.
I am using fiscal year in the columns outside the Key figure structure containing the keyfigures restricted at each of 4 quarters.
So, when the report displays, all the 10 years will automatically be displayed.
The problem is one of the 4 quarter level keyfigures needs to be restricted by calendar year.
How can I read what is the fiscal year for each column at runtime so that I can reference this value to determine the calendar year ?
As you know, each FY spans 2 Calendar Years. So, i need to restrict this on the 4th keyfigure by calendar year but while having the FY outside the keyfigure structure i can get all the FY, I am not sure how to access this value at runtime so that eg.
if FY for column 1 is 2010, i can set calendar year to be 2010 to 2011.
Hope you can give me some clues.
    Thanks you Gurus!
    Best regards
    John

    Dear Sunnybt
Copy Riyes,  I find your response interesting. Please could you elaborate your idea of using condition in more detail.
    Sorry for my late response.
Allow me to clarify my statement, which you are right, is unclear.
    By :
"if the current QuarterFY is less than the current QuarterFY"
    I mean :
eg. user enters FY range : 2009 to 20NN  (eg. 2017)
    KF_column1_FY2009_Q1______KF_column2_FY2009_Q2____KF_column3_FY2009_Q3______KF_column_FY2009_Q4______KF_column_FY2010_Q1______KF_column2_FY2010_Q2____KF_column3_FY2010_Q3______KF_column_FY2010_Q4_____KF_column_FY_NNNN_Q1
For each column, where the FY can be any year range entered by user,
the Text Description of the Column should show either 'Actual' or 'Plan' based on what is the current FY Quarter at runtime.
If the FY Quarter (eg. 1st column is 200101) is before current FY Quarter (i.e 201103), then the Description of this column should be "Actual" , else "Plan".
In my current design, I am unable to use customer exit text variable to meet this requirement.
So, I like to check with you for fresher ideas.
If not , I would use a workbook, which I am avoiding as the user needs to drilldown and I believe drilldown is not possible in workbooks where report layout needs to be rigid or cell positions fixed. Of course, unless there is a way out of this which I do not know.

  • Queries Published to Workbook Roles

    Hello Gurus,
I need some advice on this particular situation.
I currently have users in our BI systems (BI 7.0) that are assigned to roles specifically for workbooks to use with the BEX analyzer. In this case there are users who can publish queries to workbooks for anyone to use (as long as they're assigned to the workbook role).
Note:  To be specific, our business users do not create queries in production, but simply create a view of an existing query and make changes based on their specific need, which then can be saved to a workbook.
In the past we had workbook roles transported (in error) to production from development, which overwritten the queries published to the workbook in production. Updates to the workbook roles were only being made in production, so when the roles came over from DEV it wiped the queries that were created by the end users.  Iu2019m currently in the process on re-structuring the role authorization concept in our BI system and would like to incorporate workbook authorization to one role (role based security) instead of having multiple on-off roles for workbooks. Having one role means Iu2019ll need to work in DEV and push the changes to production, however with the workbook situation if any queries have been published to the one role it will be wiped every time a transport goes into production.
I would like to the following:
    1. Is there an alternative method to running queries without utilizing workbooks?
    2. What would be the best scenario or best practice when publishing queries to workbook roles?
    Regards,
    Wes

    Wes:
User cannot see favorites of another user in BEx Analyzer.
Instead of saving a workbook to the role and risk having it overwritten the next time the role is transported, your users could save their changes as a view ('save view global' option).  They will not be prompted to save as a favorite or in a role - it inherits whatever role the query is in and will not be overwritten if that role is transported.
Keep in mind that things like query properties set in the view are not retained like they are with a workbook, however.  The view stores the navigation state, variable values, etc.
    Hope this helps...

    Kerry

  • SAP Netweaver Portal - Folder structure and report publishing strategy

    Hi gurus,
I'm working on a project in which we are publishing BW reports in SAP Netweaver Portal (prior to this, we were using SAP Bex Browser) organizing it by Department (workset, 2nd lvl of navigation), Business Processes (workset, 3rd lvl of navigation) and "iview types" (transactions, queries, dashboards and so on). On 1st level we have a workset simply called "Reports".
For each PFCG role we have on BW (ABAP Server), we created a portal role and defined which of the higher navigation tiers is visible to users (delta-linking the top level navigation worksets to the portal role and setting visible accordingly) and then we assigned Portal roles to the appropriated Group (PFCG role) so all users that have access to certain PFCG role can have access to the corresponding Portal role.
    For example:
In BW (ABAP) we have a PFCG Role: Sales PMR Analysis - Administrator, which grants access to Sales Infoproviders, queries and data for PMR analysis. The user that have access to it, should be able to see:
    |Reports|
    |Sales Administration|
    v PMR Analysis
      > Web Queries
      > Transactions
      > Dashboards
      > Workbooks
In Portal we create a workset that has: "Reports" and under it, all Departments (Sales Administration, Financial, Services, Human Resources and so on) set as "not visible". We create a Portal role called PMR Analysis and add the Report/Departments workset, set Sales Administration as visible and add worksets/folders named PMR Analysis, Web queries, Transactions, etc, and all the corresponding iviews under it.
If we assign this new Portal role to the Group of the corresponding PFCG role, the user will see exactly as the example from above.
Pros: The users have a clean view of the reports he/she has access.
Cons: The users doesn't have a clear view of what is available in BW so he can request access. There might be some useful report lost in on of the hundreds of BW roles that he doesn't know it exist.
One of the options would be to grant visibility to ALL departments, business processes and iviews in Portal and let PFCG security roles control user access, but that might be confusing to have an overwhelming amount of links, making it hard to find what the user needs, specially during first access. Not to mention possible security breaches.
So, I'd like to know how other consultants are defining this kind of folder structure and report publishing strategy in Portal. Ideally we would like to be able to have:
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
I'd appreciate if you guys can share your experience on this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Leandro

This is not a refutation: your BW developers/consultants should be able to write reports, which points you in case of insufficent backend rights. EP is not designed to be familiar with ABAP security concept and cant take any influence at it.

    Yes, bad idea.
    - Visibility of all existant reports even those that the user does not have acess (so he can learn that it exist and request access)
As you already wrote on your own, this would be not good
    - Clean view of reports, segmented by department and business processes.
    - Possibility to search for reports, even for those that the user does not have access.
This is not covered by SAP, if you wanna provide that, develop it on your own.

  • Question about the format of the workbook

    Hi experts:
Is it possible to make a report whoes column  is not fix in workbook? like :
                            product1   product2  product3   ......
    sales volume
    anyone has some suggestion?
    Thanks advance .

    HI cindy,
Once you create a workbook, the structure of the workbook cannot be changed automatically (except for the sheet where you have inserted your qeury in which case, any changes you make in this sheet would be lost once you refresh the query or reexecute the workbook) . you can change a sheet that you have created in that workbook and it doesn have any query inserted in that sheet as per my knowledge. Let us know if you find something new.

  • Fiscal Year in the columns outside KF structure

    Dear Experts,
I have a manual Entry variable for Fiscal Year range.
In the query designer columns , I have a KF structure containing quarter level columns.
The FY is outside this structure. So, for each FY user entered in the FY range variable, the report will show the set of KFs at quarter level.
How can i refer to this FY values at runtime such that current date can be used to compare with the FY and Quarter in the columns?
The requirement is, if the current QuarterFY  is less than   the current QuarterFY, the TEXT variable for the columns should show 'Actual' else show 'Plan' .
I am not sure how to reference the FY range entered by user considering that the FY is placed outside the KF columns to automatically display all the FY entered by the user without the use of the FY range variable restricted in the KFs.
    Please advise.
    Thanks.

  • Query changes are not reflecting in the Workbook.

    Hi All,
I have modified the query by adding attributes. But the changes are not reflecting in the workbook.
Do i need to insert the query again in the workbook or is there any option that will reflect the changes in the workbook
    Thanks in Advance,
    Suneel.

    Hello Suneel,
if you insert the query again, it will work, but it is not the best way to delegate the query changes to the workbook.
Just open your query from within your workbook (BEx menu 'change global definition') and use the green button at the top left in order to transfer the new query structure to the workbook. The query will be executed and you should see the changes.
Don't forget to save the workbook afterwards.

  • Roles for disabeling structure changes in excel

    Hello togehter,
I have got a excel sheet which I can open by the "Analyzer-AddIn."
If the users have to change some data, there is an embedded save-button.
But if they use the normal excel save button, it could be that the excell will be destroyed.
    And now my question,
is it possible to disable structure changes by clicking the normal save button in an excel sheet via (creating) SAP-Roles? Or is it only possible by chaning VB-Code?
    Thanks in advance!
    Greetings,
    Peter

    Hi Peter,
if you want to disable the standard "save" excel button you should use some custom VB code. Afterwards, you can include this VB code in your reports using the workbook functionality.
