Stuck Please Help

Question

I have to loop through all of the employees in a hashMap collection:
This is what I have so far:
Iterator inerator = employees.iterator();
StringBuffer output = new String Buffer("");
while (iterator.hasNext())
   Object currentKey = iterator.next();
   Employee employee = (Employee) employees.get(currentKey); 
   //I HAVE AN ERROR HERE:  ERROR = THE METHOD get(int) IN THE TYPE     LIST IS NOT APPLICABLE FOR THE ARGUMENTS (Object)
   output.append(employee.toString() + "\n");Is this error coming for using a hashMap?
