Stuck with install/first use of Adobe forms in NWDS

Hi
I'm trying to use interactive forms in NWDS, but there seems to be nowhere in NWDS that I can access anything Adobe like. I'm not sure if this a very simple thing I'm missing in NWDS, or my installation has gone wrong.
From the beginning, I've installed Web AS ABAP+Java plugin 2004s SP6, running under linux. Everything starts up fine.
I'm running Windows XP on a virtual box to install SAPGUI 7.10 and NWDS 7.0.12. Can connect with SAPGUI and from NWDS to J2EE message server.
Installed Adobe Live Cycle Designer 7.1 (as not part of NWDS installation - 816065) plus patch plus xACF. Registered WDAbobeControl.dll according to 822198.
Tested successfully Adobe Webservices from browser, but do get an 500 error when called from within NWDS.
To start using forms, what should I do next ? I've tried creating a webdynpro project, but there's no indication of how to call a layout.
Any successful pointers rewarded with, er, points
Thanks, Phil

hi Philip,
Have you installed and configured ADS on your server.
without ADS... you cant work on your interactive forms.
<b>check the following points</b>
<b>(this is an old version of requirements but still will help)</b>
<b>2-1</b> The SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio (Support Package Stack 11) including Adobe LiveCycle Designer (forms design tool) is installed on your computer.
<b>2-2</b> You have access to the SAP J2EE Engine (Release 6.40). (Note that you can download an evaluation version (Sneak Preview SAP Web Application Server 6.40 Java) from the SDN Download Area at https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/downloadarea.sdn.)
<b>2-3</b> Adobe Reader 7.0.x is installed on your computer.
<b>2-4</b> The Active Component Framework (ACF) of the Interactive Forms integration is installed on your computer. With SP Stack 11, calling a Web Dynpro application that includes a PDF form for the first time should automatically install the ACF in the background. If you experience
difficulties that may be related to the frontend installation, please see SAP Note 766191 on the SAP Service Marketplace for manual installation.
<b>2-5</b> The Adobe document services are configured on the SAP J2EE Engine you are using. To access the Installation and Configuration Guides for Adobe document services, go to http://service.sap.com/nw04installation &#8594; SAP Web AS &#8594; SAP Web AS 6.40 SR1 and Related Documentation &#8594; Adobe Document Services.
<b>2-6</b> Basic knowledge of developing Web Dynpro applications. For helpful information about Web Dynpro, go to https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/developerareas/webdynpro.sdn?node=linkDnode6-2.

  • Using the Adobe Forms for printing through portal

    Hi All,
I've got a problem with the fact that I do not know exactly how to use the Adobe Forms from the portal.
I've got the Form Objects done (Interface & Form using SE80) and they work OK when testing the form. The Interface gathers all the datas etc. and the form displays this correctly.
My problem now is that I need to have this form available from the portal, and this I presume needs some WebDynPro stuff or something else? I'm totally lost on this part ...
The customer wants to have a button or link in the portal that opens a new window with the produced PDF opened in the new window, much like opening a static PDF file. The user then has the option to print the PDF him/herself using Adobe Readers own print mechanism.
My interface has only one Import parameter (PERNR number) and one EXPORT parameter (default). The PERNR number must be supplied to the interface so that it can gather all the needed data based on this number.
Any help on this will be greatly appreciated and rewarded accordingly.
    Thankyou in advance,
    Kim

    Hi Arnab,
from a forms point of view:
(I assume you have the ADS up and running on the Java stack. Without it, the form generation doesn't work.)
If you create your form in transaction SFP and execute the corresponding program that calls the form for testing in SE38, you get to the print dialogue. Here you may choose either locl or lp01 (or any other printer accessible through your network) and then select Print Preview. This should then display the PDF in SAP GUI.
If you are asking about general printer setup within SAP, check the corresponding documentation: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/d9/4a8eb751ea11d189570000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    Hope this helps,

    Hi,
    Use of Adobe form:
As of SAP NetWeaver u201904 (in SAP Web Application Server), you can use a new solution to create interactive forms and print forms for the optimization of your form-based business processes. This solution uses Portable Document Format (PDF) and software from Adobe Systems Inc. that has been integrated into the SAP environment.
You can create interactive forms in PDF format that allow users to fill out the form on the screen and save their entries in XML format in the form. When the SAP system receives the PDF form, it extracts the data saved in the form, and can process it further.
    Smart form Vs Adobe form
Smart forms / scripts are used to show the data in SAP. Most likely you will use these to print / display some kind of reciepts / forms.
but, Adobe forms are used to post data into SAP from SAP too.
    ●      Create form templates for the layout that include logos or pictures
    ●      Generate documents by merging form templates and current system data
    ●      Edit forms online or offline
    ●      Forms can be filled in advance automatically with specific data from SAP applications and then sent to the correct recipients using secure methods
    ●      Automatic consistency checks for forms
    ●      Activate enhanced functions such as comments
    ●      Digital signatures and form certification
    ●      Send completed forms to the SAP application with automatic updates of the business data

  • QR Codes using SAP Adobe forms

    Hi,
We are printing QR code labels using SAP Adobe forms and using Zebra printers (Z4MPLUS, ZM400 ) for this. Size of the QR code that is being printed is small and we want that to be printed bigger than current size.
Could anyone help us on how to increase the QR code size? We have tried changing the module height and width in XML Source, but no luck.

    Hi,
Does anyone have a solution for this ?
We have the same issue on ZM400 and GX430 Zebra labelprinters.
The QR barcode is printed very small on the label.
We changed ModuleHeight en ModuleWidth in de adobe xml source.
We changed the QRCode en CodeQR to "software" support in both XDC files : zpl203.xdc and zpl300.xdc.
However after changing the XDC file from "hardware" to "software" support, the QR barcode is not printed on the label.
    Any suggestions ?
The QR code is displayed correctly in de Adobe LiveCycle Designer (with the correct size).
    Thanks in advance.

  • Adobe Form in NWDS

    Hi experts,
I m trying to create a form template (adobe form) in NWDS SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio
    SAP NetWeaver 7.3 SP04 PAT0000. I get the following error :
Could not open the editor: The required plug-in com.sap.ide.adobelifecycledesigner is missing. Install all required plug-ins.
Has anyone some links for downloads ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
the Adobe Designer requires some native libraries that have to be installed manually beforehand. You can find these libraries on the NWDS update site on Service Marketplace. There is a link to all pre-requisites. In 7.20 these components have been installed automatically. However, in 7.30 this has to be done manually.

  • Use of ADOBE form with SAP workflow for R/3 4.6C

    Hi All,
We are thinking of usage of ADOBE form feature as one of options to design workflow for creation and maintenance of “Info record” like “Material Master” creation. BTW the existing systems are EP 7.0 with the back end SAP ERP system 4.6 C
We would like to just check the feasibility of usage of ADOBE interactive form for above scenario. Would it be possible to go ahead with the above concept or what would be pre-requisites or risks involved?
    1.     How would system identify the role to direct the Adobe form for approval in case the form is raised by multi department?
    2.     How can the data validations in ADOBE form happen with reference to SAP std. tables?
An early reply would be appreciated.
    Rgds,

    Hi,
If you use EP 70 you can used guided procedure for your requirement .

  • Using Interactive Adobe Forms in LEAD processing(SAP CRM 7.0)

    Hi,
I am new to Adobe forms. I want to create it for lead. After creation of lead adobe form should get mailed to required partner automaticaly. This partner will fill the data and send back to update the system.
Please suugest me any documentation to achieve this.
    Regards,
    Nikhil

    Dear Nitin,
The first I am not sure, so hopefully someone else can help you with that.
For the second, If you want a Z-field to be used in the action conditions, you should add an attribute to your BOR-object in SWO1.
How to do this can be found here.

  • Fonts and indent first line in adobe forms

    Hi,
I have a smartstyle with paragraph format DF for which <b>left margin</b> is <b>1.00cm</b> and <b>indent first line</b> is <b>-1.00cm</b>. I am using this style in textmodule where i can see the text correctly as desired. but when i am using this text module in <b>adobe form</b>, <b>indent first line</b> is <b>not recognized</b> i.e the first line is also starting from 1.00cm which is supposed to be 0cm.
can anyone tell me how i can resolve this and also i need <b>Arial</b> font style in smartstyles which is not currently available when i am checking smartstyles, how  can i add this font style in smartstyles?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Prasad.

    Hi Sreenivasulu
Not sure if this will help you... but just some pointers....
How about triggering the javascript on selection of a particular record in the table...? i.e. call the particular javascript function only when some row in the table is selected and not otherwise.
About row selection, you can try using some type of UI control like radio button and through iteration of the table, you can find out which row's radio button has been selected..
(Please post the query in Adobe Forms section for more hints and suggestions... )
    Thanks
    Deepak

  • Variable field in Text module which is used in Adobe forms

    Hi All,
I want to use text module in my Adobe form to display text .
Problem is that i want to insert a variable dynamically in text module i.e.
    My text is:
For example : "In the period from &EMPLOYEE_DETAIL-PERIOD& you have not paid your tax:"
Now EMPLOYEE_DETAIL is a structure in context of form with period as field .
I want that data stored in this field should come in adobe, right now instead of data this text &EMPLOYEE_DETAIL-PERIOD& comes i.e. this is considered as text
I tried this with SO10 by clicking on the "add" icon, i am getting a pop up screen with the following option. can you please help me which option to select and how to define the variable?
Options given in pop up screen
    1. Symbols,
    2. Command,
    3. Text Element,
    4. Comment,
    5. SAP Characters

  • Getting error msg while using SFP tcode to use intaractive ADOBE forms

    Hi All,
I wanna make use of Adobe intractive forms in one application. when i use transaction SFP and click on the layout tab i get following error message.
Could not start Layout Designer (see long text)
    Message no. FPUIFB086
    Diagnosis
The forms design tool for developing the form layout could not be started; either it is not installed or there are errors in the installation.
    Procedure
Make sure that you have the forms design tool installed on your desktop (the tool is part of the SAPGUI installation).
    Also read SAP Note 801524.
I looked for the same issue on SDN and someone resolved it after installing 'SAP JAVA Stack'. I raised an AHD for the same but CCD guyz say that there is nothing like that.
Can anyone suggest solution for this if you have faced same issue.
    Thanks!

  • How to avoid Print pop-up while using a Adobe form.

    Hi Experts,
I am calling a adobe form from a BAPI.I am using the following function modules FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME and CALL FUNCTION fun_name. But when I try to execute the BAPI a print preview pop-up appears. Please let me know the steps to avoid the print preview pop-up while execution of the BAPI.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Warm Regards,
    Arun.

    Hello
I don´t understand the connection between BAPI and the printing program. I guess - at least that is what I have done - is to generate the form when creating and invoice or something, then I could understand.
When you ask for GETPDF = 'X' then you always get the PDF data back and not the popup.
Or if you would like to display the print preview without a print settings popup. Or variants...
    FUNCTION ZPDF_SET_OUTPUT_MODE.
    *"*"Lokální rozhraní:
    *"  CHANGING
    *"     VALUE(FP_OUTPUTPARAMS) TYPE  SFPOUTPUTPARAMS
    fp_outputparams-dest     = 'ZPDF'.
    fp_outputparams-nodialog = 'X'.
    fp_outputparams-preview  = 'X'.
    ENDFUNCTION.

  • Can I install and use your Adobe products on a secondary hard drive?

Hello, I have my OS and program files installed on a 128gb SSD and I have a 1TB HDD secondary. I want to avoid filling up that SSD as much as possible. Is there an option when installing your Adobe products  (which ones?) to install and use them in a drive and folder on the secondary drive?

Simply choose a custom install and pick an alternate location in a folder on your secondary drive. just be aware that some components like the activation system and otehr shared stuff will always be installed on C:\, no matter what. You are stil lgoing to lose at least 1GB on your SSD drive.
