STUMPED WITH GETTING STARTED

I have no idea how to open the Adobe Digital Editions 3 Get started book and find no help in Help.

You can use the WindowListener.
For example:
frame.addWindowListener(new WindowAdapter() {
public void windowClosing() {
System.exit();
});

  • Why does Firefox not acknowledge that I have Silverlight already installed. When trying to work with "Getting Started" in Windows 7, it keeps telling me I have to download Silverlight to view this information.

I recently purchased a new computer with Windows 7 OS. When trying to learn the transition experience from Windows XP to this new OS version, I was presented with this problem of going around in circles.
When trying to view "Discover Windows 7" via "Start>Getting Started>Discover Windows 7", a Microsoft website opens to; (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/videos/personalizing-your-pc). It tells me; To view this contents, please install Microsoft Silverlight. Once I install it and get back to this page, I get the same message. I can not view any of the help content before installing Microsoft Silverlight. So now it is a never ending "CIRCLE of LIGHT"! Is this a problem with my Firefox or with Windows Microsoft 7?

I'm not seeing the Silverlight plugin in your More system details list, so Firefox doesn't find it if you have it.

  • Problem with Getting Started

Alright I'm having a problem with the Mac instructions for Getting Started with Alchemy (http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Alchemy:Documentation:Getting_Started)
    Basically step 13 when I type :
    gcc stringecho.c -O3 -Wall -swc -o stringecho.swc
    gives me the following output
    Macintosh-3:stringecho aman$ gcc stringecho.c -O3 -Wall -swc -o stringecho.swc
stringecho.c:10:17: error: AS3.h: No such file or directory

From what I gather it seems that some files are missing (AS3.h) which is why the errors and warnings are caused... is there anything I have to do to get that file
If anyone can help explain whats wrong and how to fix the problem it will be greatly appreciated

  • Help Needed with getting Started With Office 365 Development C# Rest API

We have a O365 Tenant Setup with a Federated Active Directory Setip we want to be able to right code that will connect to our tenant and perform basic CRUD operations against it (ex. Creating mail boxes)
The problem is we want this to be contained in a CLR trigger In SQL so say if a new user is added to our user table then we would create a new AD account for that user and also create a mailbox.
But I cannot find and example on how to connect to Office 365 using the REST API (Not the SDK because you can not add the connected service to a class library) and before the required actions that we need to do. All the example I have found are with the
SDK API and/or require window 8 and that is also not an option.
Please help I do not know where to start, and I would love to see some examples done in c# and not using the SDK.
    Thanks,
    Andrew Day

    Hi,
    >> Instead of SharePoint URLs I would use the O365 API URL?
Yes, in my sample code, I was accessing the File resource by using the O365 File API. In your case, you need to acquire the token to access the Mail resource and use O365 Mail API.
By the way, I think the article
Understand Office 365 app authentication concepts will help you to understand the authentication process in Office 365 Development.
    >> Why can I not use the SDK API with a class Library?
Actually, you are able to reference the Office 365 .NET SDK in the class Library. But the class library project type was not supported by Visual Studio Office 365 Development Tool. As a workaround,
you can reference the SDK manually in your project.
Since your original question is about “getting started with Office 365 Development C# Rest API”, if you have more questions about the Office 365 SDK, I will suggest you posting a new thread
to discuss the Office 365 SDK. It will involve more other community members to share their ideas and experience on a specific a question and for others who had a similar question could also find the valuable information quickly.

  • Hit brick wall with "Getting started with DW"

Hi Guys, i am totally new to web design and DW, working
through the "Getting started with DW" under the “help”
banner seemed o.k at first until one leaves the comfort of table
design, once into the css and xml the environment the Getting
started tutorial is very shake and waiting for a reply from DW
would test even the patience of a Buddhist monks.
Can someone please recommend a good book/video/dvd or is it
best just to ask questions on this forum, it does seem faster than
    DW.
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Bal

To be honest with you, the very best way to get started is to
    start with
HTML and then CSS. A week or two spent learning the basics of
    both of these
will make DW seem like a walk in the park afterwards.
    Ask your questions here, though....

  • Problem with getting started with the SQL Developer in oracle 11g

I downloaded the oracle 11g from the oracle site and installed it on my machine. Now i want to write the sql queries and practise them......so i tried this:start\oracle11gHome\ApplicationDevelopment\Sqldeveloper . But I get a messagebox with a browse button asking me to "Enter the full pathname for java.exe"
what is this all about?Do i need to install jave in my host machine?
    how to solve this problem?

    hi
If you are asked to enter the full pathname for java.exe, click Browse and find java.exe. For example, the path might have a name similar to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_06\bin\java.exe.

  • New User: Needs Help with getting started with the Z

Hi, my son got a creative Zen for xmas, only getting round to getting it together now, and having some problems with the manual. All this is new to us -technology etc. We have managed to rip a CD but cant get any further! Downloading from internet sounds like such a good idea, but 'know-how-to do' seems light years away in this house! Is there an easy start manual or step by step directions that I've missed out on somewhere? the quick start manual is fine for learning how to use the player but doesn't give any info on ripping CDs and whatever comes after. Can any of you 'experts' bring yourselves back to the begining and explain what to do in simple english?
Message Edited by Jeremy-CL on 02-0-2005 0:25 AM

    Mother,
I moved and edited your message as your are more likely to get help out here. As far as suggestions go for downloading from the internet goes, there is not a lot of difference between getting it from CDs. The main difference is the process of actually getting the music.
First off there are several music stores out there and some that are free. Here are a few suggestions (this is all personal knowledge, this is not an official endorsement of any of these):
Napster - Integrates into Windows Media Player if you desire and can transfer directly to most Zens. Also allows a user to subscribe to an account that allows for streaming and computer only downloads of music (must purchase song to transfer to the player...usually around .99 a song)
Buymusic.com - Website interface that sells individual tracks and albums.
Wallmart music store - Website interface that sells individual tracks and albums.
There are others but these three are the mains ones (outside of itunes, which is designed for the Ipod).
Basically once you download them, you go into MediaSource or Windows Media Player and add the files to the music library. Then you just transfer like you do with CDs.

  • Issue with "Getting Started" tut on Ubuntu

I have installed the NetBeans IDE for JavaJX (latest as of yesterday). This is NetBeans 6.9.1 and JavaFX 1.3.1. My version of Java is jdk1.6.0_18. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 and am up to date. I am attempting to do the tutorial here. So far I have entered the code below and am able to get the basic panel to show up. The problem I am having is that neither of the images are loading. As you can tell, I have entered extra code not in the tut that I found on another thread where someone was having a similar issue. I have placed the images in the correct location. Yet for some reason I am getting an error when they load. Any help will be much appreciated.

    fixed typo

Hi. Are you sure you have placed the images in the correct location?
Your application structure should be like this:
    javafxapplication1
           Main.fx
    javafxapplication1.resources
           dock.jpg
           mailIcon.jpg
Check your image extensions. You put “jog” instead of “jpg”

  • Problem getting started with OCCI

Probably a dumb question, but I am having trouble getting the OCCI samples to compile and run with VC6. To try to compile them out of the box, I created a plain Win32 project, added the occi Library and header to my project.
None of the samples would compile, looked at the errors, which suggested I should have defined WIN32COMMON. I did, and everything compiled. Now whenever I get to a point where the code attempts to retrieve something from a ResultSet I get ASSERTIONS in the delete operator (debug mode) or access violations in release mode.
    Stumped.
Can anyone give me a clue as to how to get started?
    Thanks,
    Mark

    Mark,
I had the same problem but I figured it out what to do to get it work (took me quite a while...)Ok, here are the things you have to do (in VC 6.0):
    * project setting / linker / using following libs only (for Release and Debug!):
oci.lib oraocci9.lib msvcrt.lib msvcprt.lib With these settings I got all OCCI samples to work properly (Release and Debug).
Though developing my own stuff, I still had problems in the debug version sometimes (I'm using Win2K). I found out, when ever the "C:\WINNT\system32\msvcp60d.dll" was loaded at program start (see debug window of your VC) I got some more assertions. So I renamed the "msvcp60d.dll" to "msvcp60d.dll.bak" and copied the "msvcp60.dll" to "msvcp60d.dll". And now everythings works fine.
I guess the reasons for these assertions is the occi libs own memory management, which isn't traced correctly by the debug version of
    the "msvcp60.dll"
    Cheers,
    Johannes

  • With Open ESB CD in hand, how do I get started?

I spent time at the Open ESB booth at JavaOne 2007 talking with the Sun representatives and engineers about Open ESB.
I'm glad I did, but I'm having a heck of a time getting started.
I have all of the requirements set-up running on Solaris 10 development server.
I've used the Service Oriented Architectures using BPEL from Java BluePrints, which really helped, but I feel I don't know enough yet to apply it towards real world projects yet.
What other resources are recommened to learn more about SOA, BPEL on the JBI Framework?

  • When trying to work with Agilent 34401A multimeter (serial RS-232 connection), HP34401A Getting Started.vi gives always the message: "Error 1073807369 occurred at Old VISA Open ".

Baud rate and parity are set correctly, RS-232 cable is also connected correctly. My QuickBasic program has no problems to read and write to the Multimeter. It is obviously a software problem: the same error is persistent if I disconnect RS-232 cable.

  • How can I use the NI PXI-6508 with Lab View 7? what are the first steps to get started??How can I use the channels with lab view 7????

I have a 8 slot PXI system with 2 NI PXI 6508 and 1 DMM 4070 in it. I want to get started with programming the digital I/O cards (6508)! How can I use this cards with LabView 7?what is the best way to get started, or where can I get examples showing how to use the several channels?
    Thanks!
    Philipp

    Philipp,
The best way to get started is to decide if you want to use traditional NI-DAQ or NI-DAQmx. Recently we released NI-DAQ 7.1 which provides NI-DAQmx support for the PXI-6508. In my opinion, NI-DAQmx is more efficient and much easier to use.
To get started with examples, simply launch LabVIEW and go to Help>>Find Examples. Then expand Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx and select the appropriate digital group for your application. This should help get you started.
Please repost if you need addition assistance. Good luck with your application!
