Stupid .. But i still can't fugure this out!!!

Question

Hi, I juststarted a new application in Java, and when coding the JFrame, I found problems when trying to indert a JPanel. The following is the code I am using, and the problem is that I cant figure out why the JTextArea is not appearing. I mean I think I have always used this same code!!
import javax.swing.*;
public class Starter extends JFrame{
     public static void main(String[] args){
          Starter s = new Starter();
     public Starter(){
          this.setSize(250,250);
          this.setTitle("Uffff");
          JPanel p = new JPanel();
          JTextArea t = new JTextArea();
          p.add(t);
          this.getContentPane().add(p);
          this.show();
I know that I can just add the text field to the ContentPane of the JFrame, but I want to use the JPanel.
Does anyone knows what I have wrong!!?
