Style templates

Hi,
I tried to externalize the header and footer formatting of a report. I created a RTF style template with a new style as 'Header_Main' - Paragrah style and uploaded it as a style template.
In my report, I applied the same style name and add this style sheet to this report. The header formatting is not applied but when I apply the same formatting to the body of the report, it is applied. Could you please let me know if there is any specific style for header which I need to create?
Thanks!
Ganesh

Hey,
Steps to create a style template:
1. Create a word document (style template as .rtf) and define formats for dummy text using Home--> Styles. Say for example you name your table heading "My Table" format as "Table Heading" in style pane.
2. In your report template define table heading "Table of Communities Recruited" format in the styles pane with the same name "Table Heading".(No need to set the fonts, size, color, bold. It will inherit from the style template)
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for as many formats you want.
4. Follow the steps to upload the style template and apply style template to the report from BI publisher documentation.
Note--> Learn to format word document using styles and not using toolbar.
Hope you find it helpfull!!!

  • Issue with style templates & sectioned reports in BI Publisher

    Hello everyone,
while building a report in BIP 11.1.1.6 I've encountered the next problem. I'm using a style template with defined header & footer, and the layout rtf template supposed to contain several sections (e.g., for 'No Data Found' message). The problem is that whenever I add sections to the report, the header & footer are applied only to the last one — no matter how many sections are there.
I've looked through the xdo debugging logs and I still see no reason for the <region-header> & <region-footer> not to apply to all of the sections.
Can anyone help me with this issue?

    Hi Kishore,
I have a similiar request. We do not have LDAP enabled yet. I configured & linked OBIEE with BIP. I put a BIP report in one of our Dashboard pages.
When logged in as Administrator / or the user who has admin rights, I could see the BIP report in dashboard but any other users can not view the report. Can you please share the doc you have with me and it might be useful.

  • APA Style Template in Pages for Mac?

Does anyone know how to create an APA style Template in Pages for Mac?

Search for a Word APA template to your liking and open that in Pages.
The problem you will encounter with Pages 5.5.1 is that the List styles are fairly broken and require far more work than they should need.
If you have Pages '09, use that instaed.

  • Mapping style templates and properties to Actual Style Sheet Classes

I got this response to an email regarding creating a customized style sheet and thought others might find it useful following is my initial question and the response from David Phipps. If anyone else has input to this conversation please join in.
Initial question: I'm trying to create a highly customized style sheet and could use a matrix that maps the various properties to the styles that each property affects. I have had some success determining the specific styles that I would like to change but am unable to use the style mill with any efficacy to make those changes. We are attempting to create a single language style sheet with a unique color scheme that matches our branding. One big problem we have run into is that certain styles are called in multiple places with different backgrounds (i.e. breadcrumbText). Any help along these lines that you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Response:The CSS style mapping is not terribly satisfying right now; many objects share common CSS styles, which means if you change one tiny thing the whole page changes. We don't have a matrix or spreadsheet or styleguide that lays out the page itself and defines the styles used in each point. However, the stylesheet mill should work for you, and it's possible that what you have going on is a problem with your mill or an incomplete copy of what it generates.
There are 18 styles in the portal currently; you can actually create new styles and populate them, which sounds like the option you are interested in. The mill is just an ANT script that uses the template files in the templates directory and combines them with the property files in the prop-color and prop-text directories.
The prop-text files are per language (10 languages); if you check you'll see the values are all the same right now; the idea is you could change the font names or sizes per-language if you wanted to.
The prop-color files are per style (18 styles). If you want a new set of property values for, say, style 19, you'd add a file called color.19.properties, and the mill would pick that up and generate 190 files (19 styles x 10 languages). It would then add a new line to community-themes.txt, which has a name of each style for each language, based on data it picked up from your new color.19.properties file.
The real secret is that you only add color style elements you want to override. If you want a specific set of styles to always be available, just add them directly to the appropriate template file (in your case, the portal50.template file) without using the @variable@ in place of actual values. Then you're just adding new style overrides that apply everywhere.
Finally, you can add arbitrary new properties to your new prtoperties file and use those in the template:
    in portal50.template:
    ..actionbarPortletBg {background-color: @personal.and.interesting.setting@;}
    in color.19.properties:
    personal.and.interesting.setting=#ff9900
So the CSS mill is just a glorified text replacement tool.
Remember that the CSS mill works this way:
    - Run make_all.bat if you're not sure and want to insure you've remilled everything, otherwise use make_community_css.bat or make_menu.bat to remill only community styles or those for the jsportalmenus dropdown, respectively.
    - The resulting files are created in ptimages/tools/cssmill/css
    - You have to copy the resulting files by hand to the imageserver CSS location, which is
    ptimages/imageserver/plumtree/common/public/css
    - You have to forcibly stop and restart your imageserver, be it Apache, Tomcat, IIS, Websphere or whatever; no matter what anyone says the new content won't show up reliably until you restart your imageserver.
You probably know all this and your real problem is the CSS is not specific enough, that is, you can't get individual items to change like you want. We have been working on this, and the new version of the portal will have much more addressable CSS styles, including the ability to specify styles for individual navigation elements, individual pages, and individual portlets. This basically meant rewriting the HTML we generate, of course.
Since you can override and rewrite chunks of our HTML as well using View Overrides, if you're in a jam we can walk you through how to rewrite specific bits of the UI that are causing you trouble - for instance, the code that generates the breadcrumbs itself.

One way to do this is to give the <body> tag an ID. In a template, you need to make the ID attribute of the <body> tag editable.
You would then have something like this in your style sheet:
    #home.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li,
    #services.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li,
    #about.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li,
    #contact.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li,
    #testimonials.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li,
    #links.oneColFixCtrHdr #container #navigation li
    background-color:
    #66ccFF;
    border-bottom-width: 1px;
    border-bottom-style:
    solid;
    border-bottom-color: #FFFFFF;

  • TOC style template for epubs - where is it stored?

    Hello,
some years ago I saved 3 different toc styles for my epubs. Now I added some more (for 2 levels etc.). This new ones also I saved.
But when I start to build the epub in the first option windows at the point TOC style navigation there are still the old three templates to select. I'm not able to choose the new ones.
Now I deleted in every dokument file the three old TOC styles by using the usual TOC tool. But in the epub-generator these templates are still there. With the result: the epub toc wich will be generated is wrong.
    Where are these templates stored?
    I use ID CC 2014.
    Thanks
    Detlef

    Hi Anshul,
Thanks for your help. I export to epub 2.01 reflowable.
For dokuments that might be so. But I do it with books and I deleted the TOC styles in ALL documents but it was still there in the list. Also I created a new book with all new dokuments, generates on TOC style in the first document and in the export option list there were the Default style only. It is not to figure out, where ID ist looking for that?
    Cheers

  • Is there an Excel-style template for the UI of a page based on a table?

    Hi Guys,
My app could use an Excel spreadsheet style look-and-feel for maintaining the data in a certain table. Is there a simple way of accomplishing that in Apex? I'm currently using 4.1.
    Thank you!
    Kim

Good question. We're basically looking for a grid look-and-feel so that the user can use the four arrow keys to navigate around. Basic dynamic column filtering and sorting features would be nice, but not required. In essence, each row in the grid represents a row in a table. Each column in the grid represents a column in a table. Each cell of the grid represents a column value in a particular row. Certainly, however, I'm not looking for all of the numeric calculation/equation capabilities of a spreadsheet. Mainly looking for that grid look-and-feel of representing tabular data.
    Thanks,
    Kim

  • Adding a template style page in Pages 5

    Can anyone help me please?
I have upgraded to Pages 5.0 and not only are there far fewer interesting templates for me to start working from (I am looking particularly in the Newsletters section) but I am also having a problem adding template styled pages to a new project.
Previously I simply clicked on Insert > Pages in the menu and then selected the layout. I can't seem to find how to do this in 5.0 - all I can do is create a blank section.
I'm sure I must be missing something really obvious but I can't figure out what it is!
    Regards, Peter
PS is there any way to upgrade to Pages 5.0 but not lose the decent (interesting) templates? I'm a school teacher and the kids love having interesting templates to start with - these new ones are terrible!

The lack of page/section styles was one of the first features I noticed missing in Pages 5.0. This is really disappointing for me as I've created a number of my own document templates and have made extensive use of page/section styles.
On one hand I can understand why Apple may have removed this feature. It is rather an anomaly among its peers. Microsoft Word does not use page/section styles and to some users it could be a bit of a confusing  feature in Pages. I know for me it was somewhat confusing at first. I was used to the MS Word way of doing things and I was wondering how these section style templates differed from me just setting my own section style. But then I figured out that it is like a slide template in Keynote. It is simply a template and can be used as a shortcut to setup a new document section in a standard style. Since figuring out how to use the page/section styles, it has been awesome and has been one of the key reasons I like Pages better than Word and why I switched completely from Word to Pages.
For now, I guess I will have to figure out how to work without it which will basically mean that I will have to go back to the old manual method of just copying and pasting section styles. It will take longer to add new sections with identical styles to a document and will be more buggy. It is likely that I will not always get it exactly correctly which will result in consistency issues in my documents. As well, the inability to copy and paste whole pages/sections from the page thumbnails will make this process take even longer and be even more buggy. But ultimately it is doable.
I can only hope that the page/section templates is a feature that Apple will bring back very soon. I wish someone from Apple would at least let us know if this feature will be making its way back in or if it is gone for good. Accordingly, we could move on or plan for its return.

  • ChildWindow control default style and template - VS2013 Silverlight5

Is there a updated version of ChildWindow control default style for VS2013 SIlverlight5. I am customizing the style to remove borders and the default style
that I found on MSDN library seems old (2012). When I apply this style, the child window is placed at the top left corner (bug!?) instead of center.
Could some one provide the latest version of the style template.
    Thanks in advance.

This fixed the border and position issue I have earlier. Thank you for all your responses.

  • Is there a global list of styles?

I'm new to Numbers 3.1 and I'm trying to understand how the style picker works.  If I create a new "blank" document I have 6 different styles to choose from when attempting to style my new table.  If I open up a new template (instead of a blank document) the 6 styles that are presented are different from those that are available when I'm on a blank document.  Why are these styles different on a per template basis? I would like to create a new blank document but when styling my table select from all possible styles across all templates... is this possible?  Perhaps I'm too used to Excel which has a notion of 'themes' which are globally available to all documents.  Maybe themes are specific to templates?

    In,
I think your best bet is to create a custom template that you fill with tables with custom-styles. Whenever you create a new custom table style, Copy/Paste that table to your custom "table style" template. This template will be your table palette from which you pick styled tables for your new working documents.
Meanwhile, Send Feedback to Apple from the Numbers menu and tell them to add the ability to add custom table styles to the format section, as they have done for Object styles.

  • How to copy and paste web design styles from the web

I am not doing so well with the web style templates provided in the latest versions of IWeb.
Is there a way to copy and paste the html code from some site who's design I like then paste it into my Iweb and then put in my content to the style that was up?
I used to be able to do do this about 10 years ago with a Claris Homepage program, don't see how to do it with IWeb.
It's like I have to do everything from scratch, draw background boxes, don't see frames.
    Thanks everyone..
    Jack E.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. No you can't copy the code form a site and use it in an iWeb page. To use frames you would use an HTML snippet and this code:
<IFRAME SRC = "URL OF PAGE YOU WANT TO FRAME" WIDTH="XXXpx" HEIGHT="XXpx" FRAMEBORDER="0" --if "0" no border, otherwise "1" with border MARGINWIDTH ="0px" MARGINHEIGHT="0px" SCROLLING="no" --"no" no scrolling bar, "yes" show always, "auto" showed when need > Your browser does not support IFRAME </IFRAME>
You can get more info at this site:iFrame code.
I've creates a demo site which describes many of the features and tricks I've learned from this forum. This iWeb FAQ site is a wealth of information on using iWeb and all of it's capabilities.

  • Style by user/group

I have 1 corporate portal page group, but we have 3 divisions. Each division has their own style settings. How can I set all pages in the page group to display with style of user's division
ex: div 1 style = div1mstrstyle (mostly green)
    div 2 style = div2mstrstyle (mostly brown)
if a div 1 user signs on all their headers footers ect should be green, but if a div 2 user signs on they would be brown

    hi,
it is not possible to have styles/templates based on users/groups.
however, here is an idea of how you could achieve this.
    1. create 3 differnt page groups for each department. if you do not want to duplicate the content (items) you could have 1 page group to hold the content. in the division home pages you just reference the items from there and use the layout of the division home page to render it. 2 ways to do this:
    - use the auto-query search portlet and query content from there
    - use page portlets
    2. creat 1 page group with 3 sub-pages. 1 for each division. you can apply a different layout for each folder (and sub-folders).

    christian

  • Adding Photos cause page template to appear

When I drag a photo from the the media browser into a media place holder, the page styles template menu appears. If I select a new style sometimes it will import the photo in the new style. Sometimes the program immediately quits, generates a report and asks if I want to restart the program.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It could be due to bad cache files. Try the following:
1 - go to your User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete the contents.
2 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
    3 - reboot.
4 - launch iWeb and try again.

  • Created Items need a Heading Template

I have created 3 items with labels that need to be put into some type of style template. When you create a report you can choose a report template 2, standard, but if you create items that are placed into that same region they are not part of that style template. How can I make the labels for my items match the style (template) used for the text headings of the report attributes?

    Matthew,
Perhaps label templates are what you need.
