Sub Contracting Order & Vendor Return

Hi,
We use to send Materials to our Sub Contracting Vendor (MB1B - Mov. Type 541).
Now in one of the cases, we had to cancel all the Orders given to the Vendor, and we want the Materials back from the Vendor.
The Materials need to move to Quality also, as per our requirement from the Quality Department.
Should we take back the Materials with Mov. Type 542 or is there any other Movement Type for the same.
What all changed needs to be done in MM& QM.
Also requested to send me the List of Movement Types.
Thanks & Regards,
P K Karn

  • Sub-Contract Order Stock Issues

    Dear All,
In Sub-Contract Order, i will create an Order for Finished product for X quantity & i maintain BOM(Semi-Finished Components) of Y quantity for the Finished Product. After approving the same the order was send to Sub-Contractor.
And Store In-charge issues these stocks to Vendor by 541 Mov-Typ in MB1B T-code.
In the same ways these Order's are placed to multiple Sub-Contractors.
Then how could i now, these stocks are issued to Vendor against these Sub-Contract Order's by Standard Reports.
    Regards
    JC

    Thanks for your reply.
In MBLB report, i can see the stocks against Vendor Code. But if i place the same Materials for a single Vendor on Multiple Sub-Contract Order's. Then how come i verify the Stock report against Order's.

  • Sub-contract order as sales order

how to treat the sub-contract order as a sales order....the stock is not getting reserved for sub-contract orders...

In copying Control for Contract to Sales order (tcode VTAA), in header deselect Copy item number from reference. As it indicates whether the system copies the item numbers from the source document into the target document.

  • Sub contract order  GRN

    Dear All
This is a sub-contract order. A/c assignment is F and item category is L. Production order exists.
When i do GRN, the system throws error that " GOODS RECEIPT for PURCH. order(108U....)  IS NOT ALLOWED FOR W.O.C89000237.
The current status of object 'Prod. order nu. XXXXXX' prohibits business transaction 'Goods receipts for pur.order'. You first have to change the status of the object 'Prod ord C89......' to allow transaction 'Goods receipt for PO'
Kindly throw some light where in Production Order, this prohibits GR not allowed for PO?
I have checked the material is allowed for both procurement and Material type OMS2  for External procurement the value 02 is given which allows external proc. but with warning.
    Regards

make sure the Production order has the Status Release or REL.

  • Sub contracting material is returned without the activity carried out

    Dear Friends,
I have a one doubt which I need to clarify.
I have supplied some material to subcontracting vendor. The vendor processes some of them & sends back the finished product. Some of the material is returned back without being processed.
    Step1- S/C PO created (Finished Product X, Component-Y)
    To produce 10 X , Y required is 100
    Step2- MB1B(541) for 100 of Y
Step3- J1IF01 created with reference to MB1B document for 100
Step3- But vendor supplies 5 quantities & 60 components are consumed. So GR done for 5 nos. 40 components are returned back without being processed.
    Step4-  J1IFQ
Then reconciliation  is being done with respect to the GR document for 60 components. Still the challan is open.
    Step5- Then in MB1B I did 542 for the 40 quantities.
Then in J1IFQ I reconciled 40 quantities with
                reference to 542 material document.
I want to know wheather this method is correct or not.
The problem I am facing is,
    1) During reconciling the 40 quantities with reference to 542 material doc it is showing 2 line items each with 40 quantities in J1IFQ. But the open quantity is showing 40 only.
    2) While completing the challan in J1IF13 , It is giving run time error(Dump).
    R Panda

    Hi,
The method you are following is correct as the Standard SAP process.
Once you reconcile the 40 qty with respect to the 542 mvt type
Then goto J1IFR check the quantity pending it should be 0 only and will display 2 material documents there
Then goto J1IF12 check the Challen status -- It should be fully reconcilled
Then goto J1IF13 - Complete/ Reverse/ Recredit  there select the posting tab & mark as Complete challen
Then check in Overview tab as Completed

  • Sub contracting plus vendor consignment.

    Hi every body,
_Pl provide me the necessary solution for the following scenario:_ There is a vendor who is on sub contact to supply material A.
The necessary sub components are provided to the vendor to supply the finished product.
When the finished product is received , the product(material A) should be taken into vendor consignment stock,. i.e.,for the same material ,vendor combination both subcontracting and vendor consignment should be enabled simultaneously,
This is a real scenario, which needs immediate solution. Those who could give a solution shall be awarded points immediately.
    Venkat.

    Hi Venkat
Make Info record of same material and vendor for consignment and subcontracting
Receive the material say A by subcontractor in unrestricted stock and then transfer the stock by 412K into consignment stock and whenever required u can issue from that

  • Sub contract order

    Dear all
I want to know about the Subcontarct process in  MM.
    thanks
    Kashyap

    Hi,
    Refer following link;
    Subcontracting Process
    Subcontracting Process
    Subcontracting without Payment of Duty
    - Creation of Subcontracting PO (ME21N)
To create a subcontract order, proceed as follows:
       1. Enter the material you want to order and the item category for subcontracting (L) in the order item.
Press Enter to display the screen for component processing.
       2. Enter the components that the vendor requires to manufacture the ordered material (end product). Note the following:
             1. You do not need to enter the date required for the components. This date is proposed by the system when you press Enter. It is calculated as follows:
o Delivery date of the item minus planned delivery time
             2. If you do not want the quantity of the components to be changed if the order quantity of the end product is altered, set the indicator Fixed quantity.
             3. If you want to assign a particular batch of the component to the vendor for the manufacture of the ordered material, enter the desired batch.
             4. You can determine whether the components are available on the date required by selecting Component List
® Component Availability. If you entered a bill of material as the material in the subcontract order, the components are created automatically.
       3. If you want to determine the components in the bill of material at a later date (for example, if the bill of material is subsequently changed), choose Item ® Goto ® Components ® New BOM explosion. The existing components are deleted and redetermined in the bill of material.
       4. Save the purchase order.
When you print the purchase order, the components are printed per order item.
    - Transfer Posting of Components to Subcontractor (Mvmt Type - 541) (MB1B/ME2O/MIGO)
    1. From the Inventory Management menu, choose Goods movement ® Transfer posting.
    2. Enter the issuing plant and storage location. Choose Movement type ® Transfer posting ® Stck w. subcontract. ® From unrestricted. Enter the vendor and then choose Transfer posting ® Create with reference ® To purchase order.
A dialog box appears in which you can enter up to 4 purchase orders.
    3. Choose Continue.
The collective entry screen appears. The vendor and the components contained in the purchase orders entered are automatically proposed by the system.
    4. Edit and adopt (copy) the desired items.
    5. Post the document.
    - Creation of Subcontracting Challan w.r.t. Transfer Posting Doc (J1IF01)
    - Goods Receipt w.r.t. Subcontracting PO and Refer Subcontracting Challan at the time of GR (MIGO) {GR with 101 and auto consumption of components with 543 movement}
When the vendor delivers the ordered material (the end product), you post a goods receipt for the subcontract order in the same way as for a standard purchase order. The system determines the components for each order item and creates a goods issue item for each component. As a result, the material document consists of the following items:
Goods receipt items for the materials supplied by the vendor
Goods issue items for the components
After you have copied an order item, you can change the quantities in the goods issue items.
Valuation: - The goods receipt is valuated at the subcontract price plus the value of the components consumed.
Note: - If by-products are planned in the purchase order as components with negative quantities, receipt of the by-products is automatically posted to the stock of material provided to vendor at goods receipt.

  • Sub-contracting orders

    dear sap guru,
i want to know information about subcontracting, i m doing five operations  with different vendors.
i m giving one material and getting scrap and finished component.
How i map this scenarion in sap.
pls kindly give me practical solution in sap.
    Thanx in advance
    Regards,
    Girish

    You should clarify your scenario:
    - are the five operations required to produce the Finish Good ? Or are they for differents Products?
    - are there also some internal operations or process ?
    - Is a production order required to collect all the information or the process can be managed from a Logistic Point of View (no routing, no operation, no WC, only a BoM) ?

  • Sub contracting Order

    Hi ,
I am having a question that what decide the child components to be pulled on to the component screen if I have already maintained for the parent component
    (1) Material Master with subcontracting Key 30 - Subcontracting
    (2) Bill of material for child component.
    (3) In PO the Item Category L.
But still it is not pulling the components.
    Lekhram

    Hi Lekhram,
The other SME is very much right check the BOM status and you are all set to go make it active BOM.You have very well documented the other requirents.
Please check if The Engineering Cgange Management is Active on your BOM then you have to release it in a certain diffrent fashion you can not do it straight forward.

  • Sub Contracting Purchase Order

    Hi All
What is table name and field name to see the alternative BOM status for Sub Contracting Purchase Orders?
    Example:
I have a Material :Shaft, which has two alternative BOM's.
When i placed the Sub Contracting order to the Vendor. System will explore the BOM and display the list of components.
How to know that Which alternative BOM system taken to the PO?
Can any body please suggest me the table name and field name?
    Thanks
    SUNIL

    Hi
if you are working with Alternative BOM in sub contracting. the system works as follows
first of all you should mantian the Sub-Con Info record for subcon  that in purchasing view you will have the production version, here you have to attach which production version you want to use asd as you know that the production version depends on your BOM and this BOM will inturn get exploded into PO, as you know that info record is the combination of Vendor and Material, only for this combination your alternate BOM will explode
    Hope i answered your question

  • Vendor return export

    Dear all,
We are having a scenario where in the machine part is to be exported for repair.
Going by the threats posted which suggests that material by material type UNBW to be created and create sub-contracting order. But in our case we require an invoice do disclose the value of the part and secondly all the charges for services and freight have to be loaded on that part.
Request to kindly let us know how we can achieve this.
    regards,
    mahesh.

    Hi,
Generally, Repair of Materials are handled via concept of Gate Pass (Returnable & Non-Returnable). But, SAP doesn't provide any option for creating Gate Pass (Returnable & Non-Returnable) in standard.
    Try the below suggested procedure as a work around process;
Repair Process (via Returnable Gate Pass: -
    1. MM01 - Create Material Master for every Spare Part / Machinery to be sent to Vendor for Repair as Non-Valuated (Material Type "UNBW") (Do not extend Accounting and Costing views since you don't require postings of Stock value and consumption values, you only want to track the Service/Repair Charges)
It's not necessary to have materials as Non-Valuated always, it depends on your requirement. If you material is valuated then create material with material type "ERSA"
    2. MIGO - Goods Receipt > Others (Receive the quantities of these materials using Movement Type 501) - Only if Stock of Material is not available.
    3. ME21N - Create Subcontracting PO (Here Main Material and Component will be same material)
    4. MB1B - Transfer Posting w.r.t. Subcon PO (Mvmt Type - 541, Spare Part stock will get posted to Vendor Stock)
    5. MB90 - Take Print out of this Material Doc as Returnable Gate Pass (U need to configure Message Determination of Inventory Mgmt)
    6. MIGO - GR against Subcon PO (101 - Receive Spare Part, 543 O - Consumption of Spare Part form Vendor Stock)
    7. MIRO - LIV for Service Charges w.r.t. Subcon PO
    8. MIGO - Goods Issue > Others (Do GI of Subcontracted Material using Movement Type 502)

  • Issues in sub-contracting

in subcontarcting scenario i have one issue
    issue 1:
Materials (both excisable and non excisable) are supplied to
    subcontracting vendor.
At this time in 57Fc challan only excisable items are maintained.
But in sap while creating the sub contracting challan it is showing all
    excisable items and non-excisable items.
But as per client requirement non-excisable items only should be displayed
while creating /reconciling/completing the sub contracting challan.
    issue 2:
when semi finished material is returned back to client by sub contractor
some raw material is still with the vendor.
while raising sub contracting order to the vendor  against the same
material ,system should pop up how much raw material left with that
    subcontracting vendor .
Kindly give me solution for this scenario.

    Hello,
All the materials which are declared for excise have to be maintained against the respective chapter ID's. Please refer the settings in excise rate maintenance.i.e j1id.
If only the non excisable items have to be appeared then only maintain the same.
Please check if it helps. As I suppose you will get the help in J1id.
    Regarding issue 2:
Is it the scrap that is produced at the the subcontractors level or the main parent raw material which is left??
If scrap is left then that has to be mentioned along with the components provided at the sub contractors level.
If the parent material is left then it has to be checked at the stocks at the subcontractor level and brought back by GR against 101 mvt type.
The BOM has to be defined accordingly. If semi finish of 1 is to be produced by supplying 2 parts of raw material then mentioned only the one which is required. Do not supply additional extra Quantity.
    Regards,
    Prasanna.

  • Sub-contracting External Processing PP-PI

    hI,
I am trying to create sub-contracting order through SAP PP-PI.
    I have a FG - X, with components X1 & X2.
I have 3operations and 3 phases in the Recipe for X.
The 2nd phase is having the control key for external processing, because of which i had to assign Purc.Info record to this phase.
( Pls note that its not allowing me to enter a PIR of material/vendor combination, hence had to create for Material Group/ Vendor).
Now when i Create and release a Process order for X, there is a Pur req created but it has no material, and i cant change anything in this Pur. req.
    Please help.

    Hi,
When a Preq is created for external processing, the material is not copied in to the Preq. This is std SAP behavior. However with EhP4, this functionality is made available. You need to activate this functionality and then some code changes has to be done in the BADI in order to copy the material from order to Preq. I don't remember the BADI, but I am sure there is one.
    Thanks

  • Shortage qty  - sub-contract process

    hi,
    In sub-contract process:
Vendor  suppose to return - 10 qty
but, we received only 8 qty.
Vendor has accepted to pay For shortage 2 qty.
    1. How to address the above scenario?. (exciseable material)
    reg
    mrs

    Dear ,
case 1) IF GR NOT DONE YET:
do the GR and , at the time of GR increase consumption qty.from 8 to 10.
that means u have comsumed more than required .then raise the debit note for loss.
reconcille the challan by the same GR doc and complete the same.
Case 2)IF GR is allready done.
reconcille the challan by GR document, then do 542 for remainning 2 qty.re4concille the challan by dat document.and complete the challan.
then take a physical inventory of that material for perticular storage location and post the negative difference .syatem showa that as a loss for u then raise the debit note for the same.
