Sub-Version and jDev

Hi to all;
My project is under subversion control, as i imported it to the repository using tortoiseSVN ;
But jDev's sub-version plug-in do not recoginized it;
I`m using jDev 11g;
PS. I was working fine with jDev's subversion util fews days ago, now my working set is growing , creating new projects and so one;
I know that; if i`m check-out all the working set again in another file system directory jDev's subversion will be ok. but i made this several times last fews days;
Any Tips ? perhaps some jDev's subversion configuration file where i can edit and repost the application path ?

Hi,
your TortoiseSVN client is probably writing to the local subversion files in a later version format that JDev does not recognise.
You have probably two choices:
1. Do everything through JDev (recheck out the project using JDev) and don't do any operations using Tortoise client.
2. Upgrade SVN Kit in JDev.

Compatibility of WLS server version and JDev version

I am trying to install WLS10.3.3 using wls1033_generic.jar with JDEV 11.1.1.3 (jdevstudio11113install.jar). However, I am getting error during JDev install as follows:
install-jdev:
[java] Extracting 0%....................................................................................................100%
[java] The product maintenance level of the current installer (WebLogic Server:10.3.2.0) is not compatible with the maintenance level of the product installed on your system (WebLogic Server:10.3.3.0) . Please obtain a compatible installer or perform maintenance on your current system to achieve the desired level.
Build is failing after this error.
Any pointers are appreaciated.

OAF Tutorial screenshots and instructions don't tie up with the version of JDEV

I'm trying to learn OAF from the supplied toolbox tutorial and I'm finding that the toolbox tutorial instructions supplied in the download do not match what I see in JDEV.
Example of sucha tutorial instruction:
"Select the TutorialLabs.jpr project in the Navigator, right-click and select New Business Components Package... from the context menu."
If you do this you see that there is no option available to create a new Business Components package.

Hi Glenn,
I have that very same version and you are correct the instructions are wrong - probably they were for a previous version of JDeveloper with OA extension. I can give you the equivalent navigation in your version.
If you right click on the .jpr file and then select NEW you will be taken to the "New Gallery" window. For beginning level projects, you will always be selecting from the Web Tier category and OA Components. This will leave you with three choices: Package File (use for business components), Page (web page definitions eg the xml), Region.
Note: There is a category "Business Tier" with ADF Components. Do not confuse this with the term "Business Components" in regards to OAF as they are different things. In general for the tutorial projects it will always be Web Tier-->OA Compnents when adding a new package file, page or region.
Once you have your business components package (eg Package File unde OA Components) created, you can then navigate to it in the applications navigator and the context menu has the options for View Objects, Application Modules and such which should match the tutorial.

Version and Sub-location in check control

Dear Experts,
Could some one explain with an example why setting (= not checking ) a sub-location and version check in check control - at sales order or delivery may yield different results vis-a-vis checking the boxes for sub loc and version check.
....and hence the logic of confirmation based on ATP quantity against the time series that confirms the lowest confirmation quantity amongst - plant level, plant-stor loc level and plant-stor loc-version level.

I am not determining batches at sales order
I am not determining a batch at delivery but a storage location is specified in delivery doc.
Also assume
I have multiple storage locations where I am managing "quality" of stocks as there is no QM
I always pick stock from single storage location eventually (call it 0001- that only has good to go stocks eventually)

Yes, you can have a table control inside of a subsreen. Make sure that screen '9005' is defined as a subscreen, and not a normal screen.

EANCOM message : Separate channel per message sub-version

Hello Experts,
I have the following scenario:
Flow 1 : ORDERS message : Dummy interface ( Sender AS2 channel ) -----> Dummy interface ( Receiver EDISeparator )
Flow 2 :                                  SI_Orders_96AEAN008 ( Sender EDISeparator adapter ) ------------>   IDOC ( Receiver IDOC )
Flow 3 :
SI_Orders_96AEAN009 ( Sender EDISeparator adapter ) ------------>   IDOC ( Receiver IDOC )
If you see, I need to configure 2 separate receiver communication channels based on message subversion to receiver 2 different messages; one CC for receiving EAN008 type of messages and one CC for receiving EAN009 type of messages. But the sender EDISeperator of type EANCOM does not have option to select the sub-version. Can you please tell how to configure 2 separate receiver channels per message sub-version.

Interface 1 : EDISeparator Sender Interface ( 96A-EAN008 ) ---> Mapping 1 ---> ZCNOSE_ORDERS.ORDER05
Interface 2 : EDISeparator Sender Interface ( 96A-EAN010 ) ---> Mapping 2 ---> ZCNOSE_ORDERS.ORDER05
There are around 21 GLN's sending messages of type 96A-EAN008 and 60 GLN's sending messages of type 96A-EAN010.
As suggested by you in thread EANCOM message : Separate channel per message sub-version is that we have to use '|' as GLN separator. However since I have many GLN's, the option does not work for my scenario unless I create multiple communication channels with sets of GLN's in each communication channel.
Will you agree that if the sender EDI separator adaptor had an option to choose the messag sub-version of the EANCOM message ( EAN008 / EAN010 ), then it would have been simple for me to create 1 Communicaiton channel such that all the messages of Interface 1 would use Mapping 1 and all the messages of Interface 2 would use Mapping 2 irrespective of any sender GLN.

Embedded WLS and JDev 12.1.2: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space

This problem happens after about 10-15 application restarts during development phase. I have read somewhere that this was a known bug in 11g versions of JDev and its integrated WLS (10.3.5 or 10.3.6?). I have then increased memory parameters in configuration file. The only thing I achieved is that this crash now occurs later then sooner. Still very frustrating. When this happens I have to restart WLS and sometimes kill frozen JDeveloper.
Any other idea/workaround?

I think the problem is that the code you have written is for the
8.0.5 JDBC driver (the default driver for JDev 1.1). By default,
JDeveloper 2.0 uses the 8.1.4 JDBC driver and there are some
syntax/API changes for LOB support between 8.0.5 and 8.1 (namely
that OracleClob is replaced by oracle.sql.CLOB).
Also, while you can still use the DBMS_LOB package, there are new
methods provided in the oracle.sql package that allow more direct
access to LOBs.
You have two options:
1. switch your driver to use JDBC 8.0.5
2. switch your code to use the new 8.1 JDBC APIs
1. Switch your driver version:
a. For the project you are workin on, select Project->Project
Properties from the menu
b. Look in the Java Libraries list box. You want to see Oracle
8.0.5 JDBC listed BEFORE Oracle 8.1.4 JDBC AND Oracle EJB. I
don't have immediate access to Jdev right now, so I'm not
positive what the libraries were called.
If Oracle JDBC 8.0.5 is not listed at all, click the Add button,
select the Oracle JDBC 8.0.5 library and add it to the list, then
select it and drag it up so it is above the other two I
mentioned.
c. Exit from JDeveloper and edit the jdeveloper.ini file in your
<JDEV_HOME>/bin directory. Make sure
..\jdbc\lib\oci8\classes111.zip appears in the IDE_CLASSPATH
setting before ..\aurora\lib\classes111.zip (8.1.4 JDBC).
2. Switch your code to use the new 8.1 JDBC APIs
a. you will need to import oracle.sql.*
b. change 'OracleClob' to 'CLOB'
c. to read from the CLOB locator (you can still use DBMS_LOB, but
there are new methods as well):

SOA Suite version and jDevelopr version

Hi,
Do we have to match jDeveloper version and the SOA suite version on which we are working?
I mean If my server is SOA suite 10.1.3.3, then do I have a restriction that I have to use jDeveloper 10.1.3.3 or I can use jDeveloper 10.1.3.4 also it doesn't matter?

Hi Sreejit,
Yes, it is a good practice to match the SOA and Jdev versions but not to the extent of trying to match even the patches versions.
For example SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 - 10.1.3.3 is SOA 10 g Realease 3 and so is Jdev 10.1.3.0 - 10.1.3.4 10g Release 3 so any one is fine.
Patches become significant while developing processes in production otherwise it fine.

Deployment of ADF application from Sub version

Hi All,
Using Jdeveloper 10.1.3.3. We have integarted SVN with our jdeveloper. Now we have to deploy the application. How I can do that, using my local working copy, or I have export the application from SVN and then open it with Jdeveloper and proceed with deployment?

This depends on your needs.
If you only deploy to a test server you are fine to use your local copy. If you need to go back to the exact copy of all sources of tge deployed version you have to go a different path.
We normally do a fresh checkout of all projects needed to build the application into a fresh directory, build all projects (hopefully without error) make the needed jars, wars and ears. If all this goes without error, we first delploy it on the test server to see it the deployment is ok. Then we tag this version in svn (this enables us to do fixing in the exact version) and deploy it on the QS server for testing. If all tests went through we deploy the exact eras to the production server.
When a user finds an error in the production version you have to decide if you fix the error right in the production version (hot fix) or if you fix it in the normal development cycle.
Hot Fixes are done on the tagged version to make sure nothing else changes beside the error. The fix has to be ported to the development version too! If the error is already fixed you can backport it to the tagged version.
Checking out the projects, building and deploying is done outside from jdev via ant (you can try maven if you want).

i need small clarification.
i am developing one Crystal report
main report i took it from rdr1 one table...
report is working fine..
Sub report i took it from inv1 one table.
i have not linked any fields from these tables.
May be it is having links in b1..
but in my other report both the tables.... from main report and sub report does not have any relation.
My Questions is..
Can i Compulsorily link fields to main report...
if both does not have any relation what should i do...
i took two tables.
main report rdr1
sub report inv1...
if i run the report it is asking two parameters one is for sub report and other one for main report working find in crystal report.
but...i want to run the report in b1.
while importing i am getting the error (Plz have a look on below image)
if i choose any other report it is importing fine...
Clearly i am mentioning i dont want to link both tables there is no links between two reports...
in this scenario can develop a report..
I need your Valuable suggestions.

I tried to loading in "safe mode" but I still could not open Firefox.

It is possible that there is a problem with the files [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
Delete [http://kb.mozillazine.org/sessionstore.js sessionstore.js] and sessionstore.bak in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder]
* Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Open Containing Folder
If you see files sessionstore-##.js with a number in the left part of the name like sessionstore-1.js then delete those as well.
Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note).

Uninstalled new version, horrible. Installed the older version and now it won't open! HELP WANT MY MUSIC!

I installed the new version thinking it would be the same, It was horrible! uninstalled it... Installed the older version and now it won't open and when I try it says it can't because the library can't open because it was used on a newer version. Come on! I just want my music! How do I open this and get my music back.

I don't know whom to thank first-- b noir for telling me about the Lorraine fix or Lorraine for figuring out the fix. THE LORRAINE FIX WORKED FOR ME!!! (I feel a little like I am advertising "Hooked on Phonics" with that last line!)
Thank you doesn't say it strongly enough, but THANK YOU b noir and Lorraine for your help. I was to the boiling point last night and starting to get there tonight. Now I am resting easy and thankful that there is a community of computer users out there who care enough to troubleshoot problems together and work together to figure out a solution--and then to take the time to post and share information.
I would STRONGLY suggest that anyone who is having the iTunes issues where iTunes just plain won't open at all after downloading the newest version and has a pc with Norton Internet Security 2005 try the "Lorraine Method."
I am so happy I think I might sing. Or not--I will let my songs on iTunes do the singing for me now that I can again!!!!!!!
And to those still looking for answers--be patient--I now know how incredibly frustrating this can be and I hope that you all find your solutions very very soon!!

There are two different LR’s, one with a serial-number licensing and one with a CC-signin license.
You should uninstall the serial-number LR you have installed, then
Quit the CC Desktop application,
Restart the CC Desktop application—this will rescan what you have installed and not see LR,
LR will now be on the CC Desktiop apps list, so install that.

Are you working with Acrobat or Photosohp? (You mention both PDF files and photos, so it's not clear.)
Let us know what software you're thinking about upgrading and we can point you in the right direction.
