  • Submit button not setting request in translated application

I have an application (id 103) with a primary language of en-gb, and application language derived from browser. This works OK (validations, page branches, etc).
I then created a language mapping to app id 103001 (fr), seeded the translatable text, exported the xliff file, translated some of the strings (using Transolution - http://transolution.python-hosting.com/), uploaded the xliff, applied it and published the application.
With the browser language set to en-gb, the application still works. When running with the browser set to fr, the correct translations appear, but the submit button does not work - the page refreshes but the fields are not validated. Switching on debug shows the request as SUBMIT when running in english, but it has no value when running in french.
Any ideas? Using HTML DB version 2.0.0.00.49 on 10g R2 on linux.

    James,
    Thanks for your patience.
It's a software defect. I verified this in the Application Express code. It only affects the following combination:
    1) Running a translated application
    2) You have an item button on the page
    3) You specify the item button in the declarative When Button Pressed select list condition on the validation.
The evaluation of the condition is not properly accounting for the translated IDs in use. There are a number of workarounds:
    1) Use a normal button and not an item button
    2) Use a different method to specify the condition, either one of the declarative conditions or a PL/SQL expression (e.g., :REQUEST = ...)
I hope you don't mind, but I changed the condition for the validation in your application. I removed it from When Button Pressed and changed it to Request = Expression1. After republishing your application, it works fine now.
Thanks again for your persistence and helpfulness on this issue. I will log this as a bug and we will get this resolved.

  • Add advanced action to submit button and setting different objectives score for the same course

Hi, i would like to increase a counter in a quiz slide when the user press the submit button, using advanced actions.
It's like if the submit button is somehow inhibited from certain options, and i cannot find how to add an advanced action to it.
what i need, is to allow unlimited attempt until the user selects the right answer. each time the user click on submit, a counter increases by one. When user finally select the right answer, we read the counter value and assign a different score, depending on the attempt (for example: 1st attempt=20 points, 2nd attempt=10 points, 3rd attempt=0 points)
After that, i need to save all score obtained for a certain group of quiz slide separately from the "main score" (i think the main score is stored in cmi.objectives.0.score)  to have partials scores for a course. I examined the "advanced interactions" panel and i noticed that for each quiz slide there is a specific interaction ID and each quiz slide is associated typically to the same Objective ID. What i need is to associate different groups of slides to different Objective ID's.
In Storyline i was able to do this by passing to the lms a cmi.objectives.n.score (where "n" is the place in the objectives array) and i did it by executing a javascript on success for each question slide. (each javascript added the score of previous slides in the same group to obtain the total score of the group to be passed to lms with a specific function).
examining captivate scorm functions in the published scormdriver.js i found the following function
    function SCORM_SetObjectiveScore(strObjectiveID,intScore,intMaxScore,intMinScore)
so i think it can be done the same way in captivate executing javascript in the right way.
Is there also an easier solution to write different scores to different obectives in the same course?
    many thanks for any help!

Indeed, Submit button is part of the Question slide, not a normal button. You can add a custom shape button, but it will never replace what happens when the Submit button is clicked: validation of the answer, showing captions, adding to score etc. Making the score depending on the attempt is not possible with default functionality, it is possible with custom question slides, but then the reporting to LMS is another issue. You should try to do it by JS, or if you only need SWF-output you could use the Master widget by InfoSemantics.

  • Submit button issue in Acrobat 9 Pro

I have created a form in acrobat 9 pro. I have added a submit button and set the action to mailto:(my email address). I have uploaded my form to my website but the submit button is not working. I have followed the instructions within your tutorials but apparently I'm missing something. You can view the form at this url: http://preservationkentucky.org/pdfs/2012SessionProposal-Gallery.pdf

  • On submit button type - There was a problem connecting to the server.

    Hi,
Please give me a solution for server connection issue. I am new to the adobe live cycle designer ES4.
I created a web form use of adobe live cycle es4 v.11.0 to retrieve the data from web service method. So, I created the WSDL type data connection in data view menu to invoke the .asmx?wsdl service and connection is established successfully. Then, I dragged and drop a button from object library window to invoke the service method and changed the type as submit button. In the submit button URL, I given the web service url as eg. http://<localhost>:<port>/Web_serive.asmx?wsdl. Finally, I saved it has a PDF file.
When I click the submit button, a pop up window is openning as 'preparing for submit..' and 'Receving data..' and finally, it shows a pop up error message as 'An error occured during the submit process. There was a problem connecting to the server'. I tried all possiblities and if any bad english grammer, sorry for that.
Please give me a proper solution for this issue.
    With Regards,
    G. Prabakaran.

After trying these suggested actions several times success has not been reached.
I understand you are getting unable to connect to server error message on your printer. I would first unplug router and printer for about 1 minute. I would plug router up first then printer. I would then try to enable web services. If not successful and you get same error message. I would follow these steps.
    1. Obtain your printer's IP address
    a. This can be done by pressing the wireless icon on printer.
    2. Enter the printer's IP address in a browser.
    3. Select the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. On the left select networking.
    5. Select Network Address (IP)
    6. Select Manual DNS Server
    a. Manual Preferred DNS should read 8.8.8.8
    b. Alternate DNS Server should read. 8.8.4.4
    7. Select apply you might get a warning just select okay.
    8.  Try again to access ePrint.
Let me know how it goes.
I am able to print wirelessly to the printer, print through eprint, scan, and copy things. The only thing that is not working is the printer itself connecting to the hpeprintcenter.com.

  • Email Submit button works in Acrobat but not Reader

I have a form with an email submit button.  When those who have Adobe Reader click on the Submit button, nothing happens.  For the users with Acrobat, the submit button works as designed. The users all have the latest version of Reader, Java and Flash.  When the Acrobat users click the button a box appears asking them to select Desktop or Internet email.  Once they make a selection, the form is sent.  When the Reader users click the button nothing happens.  I'm sure there must be a setting somewhere that I need to adjust.  Can you help me?

    Hi Susan,
I appreciate we have meandered through this, but bear with us...
Here is a screen shot of a regular button set up to return the completed form as a PDF.
Now if you deploy this form WITHOUT Reader Enabling the form, then users with Reader will see this warning:
However before you deploy the form open it in Acrobat and go to the Advanced menu (in version 9) and select "Extend features in Acrobat Reader" and save the form with an amended name. Then send this new "Reader extended" form out to the users with Reader and they will be able to return the completed PDF.
Without seeing the actual form it is difficult to work out how the submit button is set up.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Hide submit button in form

    Hi all,
I have an interactive form with a submit button that i displayed online thru webdynpro for the user to key in data. And when user clicked on the submit button, i will validate the data in the webdynpro action handler, and will send out a copy of the same form as an attachment in email.
But when sending this form in email, i do not want the email recipient to see the submit button when they open up the form to view. And the form should be in display mode as well.
    So 2 questions:
    1. how do i go about hiding the submit button and setting the form in display mode?
    2. For setting the form in display mode... i currently uses cl_wd_adobe_services create_pdf method to generate the xstring for email, so i can set the enable = ' '. Any other way to do this if i going to use the xstring from pdfsource of the interactive form UI element?

    Hi,
For Hiding the UI elements in Interactive form try using Scripts (FormCalc).
The script for hiding the Submit Button is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.presence = "visible" / "hidden"
The Script for making a field editable / read-only is:
<path of the UI element in the Subform>.access = "readOnly" (Not Sure about the casing

  • URL for configuration in HTTP SUBMIT button --urgent

    Hi All,
I am in development of a urgent interactive form and I am new this. My aim is to build a interactive form ( SFP) and then place a HTTP Submit button and post the data back .
I went through the documentation and understood that W can send data in XML format back and in the server end we need to write the program to read it .. Writing progaram is ok for me . but I need to know What is the URL I in the HTTP button ( is it IP of the server ) or some other details .. how will this trigger my custom code ...
    Regards
    Abhilash

    Hi Abhilash,
URL is url of your page, for example http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.htm. You can read more in Adobe LiveCycle Designer Help. Nevertheless the control Button from group Standard is better. Set property Control Type in tab Field to Submit and then fill new tab Submit.
If you use WebDynpro for online scenario you needn't this buttons. In such case use a button Submit from the group Web Dynpro ActiveX (if you use xACF layout) or a button Submit from the group Web Dynpro Native (if you use ZCI layout).

  • I've set up an event and published it, but it won't allow for registrations.  The SUBMIT button is grayed out.  Thoughts?

I've set up an event and published it, but it won't allow for registrations.  The SUBMIT button is grayed out.  Thoughts?

The submit button is greyed out in case the registration page is being viewed in preview mode.
Please check if the following string is present in the event registration URL:
    "preview=true"
If it is present, please try by removing this string.
    Thanks,

  • Javascript to dynamically change url in submit button

    Hi guys
Is there anyone who can share the code to dynamically change the url in the submit button?
    Thanks
    Sam

Change the button to Regular button instead of Submit and write the code in the click event of the button.
    (OR)
Keep the button as Submit and remove the URL in the button properties. Place the code in preSubmit event to set the URL for submit.
The code to set the URL in any of the above approaches:
    this.resolveNode("#event").submit.target = "PLACE URL HERE";
    Thanks

  • How do I set the Submit button to send the information directly to a specific email address?

How do I set the Submit button to send the information directly to a specific outside email address? It isn't clear to me where or how it says that you can do this.

Is this for a web form or a PDF? If PDF, you would have to use Acrobat to edit the form and replace the submit button action with either a "Submit a form" action using a mailto type URL, or use the doc.submitForm statement to do the same.

You need to use the right arrow on the remote to go all the way to the right. The submit button will be highlighted and you can then press select on the remote to proceed.

  • Submit PDF form data to URL without submit button

Our client use LiveCycle Designer to design PDF forms. We've an ASP.Net Web form application, where they want us to embed the PDF form as part of our Data Entry Form. The Entry form has a Save button. And we want to save all the entry form entries (including the PDF form) in the Save button click.
The client PC will have adobe reader installed, so I guess we can embed the PDF form easily. I know PDF form can have Submit button and can submit data (XML) to a URL. But client does not want to place a separate Submit button in the PDF as the entry form has a "Save" button.
Do you have any suggestion? If I'm posting in wrong place or an already answered question I apologize earnestly and please guide me.

Note: If you are able to use Static XFA forms or Acrobat PDFs you are able to parse and merge the submissions. If you are saving "Save As" a dynamic XFA PDF in LiveCycle, then your options are limited.
