Submit Report....and ALV.. PRoblem

Hi,
I am using a calling program ZCALL to submit a ZTEST program. Now the ALV_LIST_DISPLAY is used in the submit program ZTEST.
When I am executing the program ZCALL in foreground i am able to get the ALV outpput.
but when I am executing ZCALL in background, I am unable to get the ALV output...
But whn I am executing ZTEST in background I am able to get the ALV....

Hi Abhay,
Are you using only SUBMIT or SUBMIT AND RETURN
if you are specifying RETURN as you are running in backgroung mode there is no one to send the screen back(USING F3 or BACK) to the called program, so it wont display the ALV but just goes back to the calling program.
Please try describe as clear as possible

Normal report and ALV report, where exactly both are differs?

For Normal report and ALV report, where exactly both are differs, I mean from which part the process / coding will differ, pls le me know..?

Hi Akshitha,
In Normal reports we use formatting techniques to display the report list. We define heading and size everything to display report list. But where as in alv we need not to use any formating there are some function modules which will automatically display output list in LIST and GRID format.
In Normal report we cannot make changes to the output list where in ALV report we can change the ALV output display dynamically. You can find lots of options for the ALV list such as you can download output list into Excel sheet and Sorting options Acending and decending order in ALV but in normal report We need to write syntax in the report to display output list in sorting order. The ALV report is very easy way to display the output compared to Ordinary report.
Check below some links which will help you to understand about ALV. If you know about Normal report you can campare by userself the difference.

Nothing changes for HR ABAP when it comes to ALV or Interactive Lists. Only the DATA fetching process is changed. To fetch HR data , you use Logical Database PNP or Clusters or just read a specific infotype using a method.
Here is a sample program for ALV 'BALVST02_GRID'. For interactive list , use this demo program
DEMO_LIST_INTERACTIVE_1. It is a series of Demo Programs which you can open in SE38.

both are used for same purpose
interactive report means an output list which displays basic details & allows user to interact, so that a new list is populated based on user-selection. With interactive list, the user can actively control data retrieval and display during the session. a total no of 21 lists including main list are genearetd in interactive lists.
I suggest to use ALV.by using ALV we can display in Grid as well as list format.
Output format will be good . Sorting,Filtering facilities are provided by itself.We can have column headings also. using oops we can also do alv reporting.

Submit report and export to memory

Hi
I am using this code to submit report
submit ZM005REP
WITH S_BLEND IN R2
WITH S_GROUP IN R3
WITH S_WERKS IN r1
exporting list to memory and return.
I am using LIST_FROM_MEMORY to read the list.
I want to further use the values from this list for calculations , but when I saw the list its just an array of strings.
I want to read the opening bal field which is returned in this list.
Any advice on this ?

Crystal Reports and Authorization Problems

I am having an issue with Crystal Reports and User Authorizations.
I was build a Crystal Report and import into SAP Business One (SBO 8.8 PL18 HF). After that i give full authorizations for this report in some users. Then if the user login in SBO and choose to see the report his has the following error
You are not permitted to perform this action - "The name of the Report " [Message 200-30]
or
You are not permitted to perform this action - "The name of another Crystal Report " [Message 200-30]
This happen also if I edit a crystal report and re import the new version.
If i change the user to Super User then there is no Problem but i don't want something like this. Is something going wrong with Import Crystal Report and SBO menu items?
Any Idea?

I had tried also with the way that you suggested...
Only if I give full authorizations for all the modules itu2019s possible for the user to open the crystalu2026
And I said possible because sometimes with full Authorizations everything it is ok and sometimes not.
The most strange thing is that if I choose to open a Crystal Report the display error as i said before is
for another Crystal Report in SBO menu.
e.x I choose to run a Daily Cash Report from the User
and the ERROR Said
"You are not permitted to perform this action - Outgoing Payments Message 200-30"

H E L P!!! Firefox crashes when I try to open..even in safe mode.Have sent several reports to Firefox,(which they said they would read report and FIX problem),but nothing has been done.This has been going on for 4 days.H E L P ! ! !

When I click on Firefox Icon to open browser a window opens that says..Firefox has had a problem and has crashed.It says a report will be sent to Mozilla and problem will be fixed when Firefox is closed,(It never opened),I click on close Firefox and it says a report is being sent.Then a few seconds later it says...Report successfully sent and closes.It also asked if I want Mozilla to contact me about this report,I checked yes and have recieved nothing.I WANT MY FIREFOX..This has been going on for since Nov.30th.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Submit Report and return

Hi All,
I am using the submit statement to call my report. In my report I call another modal dialog box. My issue is I get blocked on the dialog box and the screen gets hanged. I have no option but to kill the session. I want the control to come back to my calling report after I have done my processing on the dialog box.
Kindly help as this is really urgent.

I think, this is happening because you dont any event on the dialog screen which will process the PAI. create back button and in PAI check for back. on back use leave to screen 0.

Cisco Secure ACS "reports and activities" problem

Hi, I am running ACS 3.3(3) Build 11.
When I select the "next page" from any of the reports, I get a "page cannot be displayed" error. (1st page is fine).
Any ideas what this can be caused by?

Not sure about this problem.. .but the ACS interface for searching reports is dire.
Why not try aaa-reports! There's a free 60 day trial. We have tools to remotely pull down all CSVs from any number of ACSs and import & report on most of the ACS logs.

IR Report and Form Problem

I Created a IR report using A form on a report wizard. I have now changed the underlying query in the IR and it is showing correct. In the Query i have created, I have extra columns that are not in the table of the report as shown in the Query below

I have created Text item in the Edit Page with Source as SQL returning single value with the following SQL Statement

When I click on Edit, am getting an error ORA-00904: "ACCOUNT_ID": invalid identifier

did you miss the ':' character before the item name ?
Also do you have a page item by the name P18_ACCOUNT_ID ? . The SQL query would fetch nothing in such a case as the bind variable value becomes NULL.
By the way is the issue occurring only when you navigate from the report to the edit page, what if you access the edit page directly(by changing the URL)
If this is the case, then the report link is set up wrongly, mayb it tries to set an item in the edit page which is not there or is referencing a non-existent item.
