Subscription issue with DPS app

We have an app in the Newstand that has an issue with subscriptions.
When a user taps on the subscription tile in the library, or if they tap the "Subscribe" button in order to download the folio, and after going through the subscription prompts, a status indicator at the top of the screen just spins and states "Purchasing Subscription..."
I have read in this support forum that Apple will reject an app for this "hanging" subscription issue.
I created a Shared Secret in iTunes Connect that I plugged it into the proper Application Account details page under the Account Administration tab in the DPS Dashboard.
I have the Apple product ID entered in the "Free subscription product ID" field in the DPS App Builder.
Am I missing something?

It turns out not all Product IDs are created equal.
When you create the app ID in the iOS Provisioning Portal, you specify a Product ID.
When you set up in-app purchases in iTunes Connect, the same Product ID is used.
When you package up everything to send to Apple, you specify the same Product ID in the DPS App Builder.
However, the Product ID specified in the Folio Producer MUST BE DIFFERENT in order for the subscription confirmation and notification to operate correctly.
My problem was created by my using the same Product ID in the Folio Producer that I had used in iTunes Connect and the DPS App Builder.
In order to change the ID in the Folio Producer panel, you need to click on the Update button and input a different ID.
When users launch your app, they will see two copies of your folio. The version they already had and the updated version. They can download the update and the subscription button and tile should work.
When users archive the old version of your app it will disappear altogether off their iPads.
Note: this is in addition to creating a Shared Secret in iTunes Connect and plugging it into the proper field in the DPS Account Information Details page.

    It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
    First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

    If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
    As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

    If you are DPS single edition user, then you need to enter serial number to activate app.
    But it would be more helpful if you let us know which DPS edition you have?

  • Issue with the App Store showing up blank.

    Issue with the App Store, it will not let me search for new apps.  The screen is blank.  The update section and features section works, but it will not let me search for new apps. I have restarted my phone and no changes. The newest update to the iphones when the iphone 5 came out, i think, messed up this app.  When i am looking at how to fix it, it tells me to delete it and try again, but the App store is not a deletable app.  Any ideas why my App store, specifically the search section of this app doesn't work?

    I suspect it is on Apple's side of things. Mine was blank too, but now it works again. Fixed itself one morning.

    Your Java player (if relevant) is not clearly indicated in your plugins list, and your Flash player is several versions behind. If Apple has an update site, you might check that first. Mozilla's site is here: http://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/

    Delete background Apps from memory and then Reset.
    To Delete background Apps, double click Home button, in the bar at bottom, hold down on an App Icon until the minus sign appears, tap all the minus signs, until all background Apps are cleared from memory. Then Reset, hold both Home and Power buttons until the iPhone begins to restart itself, ignor the 'slide to power off' let the iPhone restart itself. Usually takes about 10 seconds of holding both buttons.

  • Issues with Server.app

    hello together,
    I have some issues with Server.app.
    I connect to a server in our local network.
    In the Users tab I see only local users of the server, not the network accounts
    When I choose "Manage Network Accounts" from the "Manage" Menu, it tells me to configure the server as a network directory, but it is already configured as such.
    When I hit "next" and enter account information for the directory admin it tells me that this server is already configured to manage network accounts.
    How can I view and mange the network accounts again?

    Just fyi, I was not able to resolve this on my migrated server. Every time when I imported the OD backup from 10.5.8 Server.app couldn't load the user or group list and issues an error message with "error 5000" or something. Check if you have that in your logs, too. If so, Server.app is no longer able to authenticate against the OD. There are several threads regarding this 5000-error, none of them worked for me. Usually this happens when the hostname, IP or something in the OD setup changes and the agreed keys no longer work for authentication. As mentioned, I never managed to get that to work again and had to use a fresh OD and create the users from a list (without pwd). Not very charming.

I am wondering what options do I have to discover the problem. COuld it be the most recent IOS update? I don't want to have to restore an old backup and loose data.

  • Problem with DPS App Builder

    I have a problem with app multi-folio creation, after selected all icons and right certificates when I press Create App the program generate an error of a missing file, assets.zip, but I've added only icons, splash images and anything else. About one mounth ago I've created another app with same settings and it has worked well. I tried to reinstall DPS App Builder but same problem...what I can do?

    I'm having the same error message when trying to re-submit my app. I've already submitted and apple have approved, I've then just made a few text tweaks and I'm trying to download the development and distribution files but having no luck only the folio error message!
    And I don't know how to creat the 2 files you talk about to resolve the issue. Is this easy to do? If so, would you be kind enough to tell me how or point me in the right direction.

  • Problem trying to update to iPhone OS 3.1.3 and issues with paid apps

    Hi,
    I bought my iPhone 3GS when my old dumbphone died and have thouroughly enjoyed the experience. I've been having a couple of minor issues which I've been wondering about of late:
    1) I know the 3.1.3 update came out some time ago, but I sync my iPhone and it won't ever update. I tried to manually do it (i.e. pressing the button that says "Check for update" in iTunes->iPhone but it just says "3.1.2 is current". At first I thought it was something to do with the apps because around the time the update came out an error message appeared when I synced that said something about the apps not being able to be installed. I was perplexed because my iPhone had all its apps working, so I thought maybe that's why it won't update and clicked on "More Information". I followed the instructions to save all the apps in my computer, then deauthorize and reauthorize my computer and sync my iPhone. This solved the error message issue, but it still won't update. So, is it something with where I live (Puerto Rico)? I want the update, but I just can't get it.
    2) Whenever I try to buy an app whether it's thru the app store on the iPhone or on iTunes, I can't because apparently it won't let me use my debit card. It's a Visa debit card and I have used it for all my internet purchases over the last year and it's always worked. I contacted a support person at Apple but all they could tell me was that the bank was for some reason not allowing them to access the funds, and that I should just buy a gift card and use that. Anybody else have this kind of problem?
