Substitution cost center question

Employee doesn't have a cost center for wagetype XXXX for December. The wagetype is send to the substitution cost center. Next month WT XXXX is changed for december (retrocalculation) and IT0027 is created for December. When I start posting for January the WT XXXX (from December with the original december value) is taken from the cost center from IT0027 but in december it was posted to the substitution cost center (not to the cost center from IT0027 because IT0027 didn't exist in december).
I need to take the WT XXXX from the substitution cost center (it was send there in december) and send to the cost center from IT0027.
What should I do?

Hi
you can do following steps
1. Maintain cost distribution infotype (IT0027) from December
2. Process the January payroll with "Forced retro.accounting as of" date from december
After executing the above steps , when you post the results for january
WT XXXX from the substitution cost center will be transferred to the cost center
from IT0027.
(ie. If WT xxxx is debited to substituted cost centre in December then
in jan WT xxxx will be credited to substituted cost centre & debited to cost centre
maintained in IT 0027)

  • Basic cost center question

    Hello -
i have basic question  - why does SAP require us to assign a company code to each cost center. wont it require us to create cost centers (for the same purpose) in all the company codes?
Since CO is management accounting - I was under the impression that cost centers are created under a controlling area and the companies are assigned to a controlling area - we could track the costs at a cost center level across the company codes...
    What am i missing?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Assignment of controlling area and company code is made within Customizing. A controlling area can be assigned to one or more company codes.
A cost center must be assigned to a company code within the framework of master data maintenance, since the assignment of the controlling area to a company code is not necessarily unique. All company codes belonging to the controlling area can be assigned, in addition to being displayed with the Expanded Help function. If an empty window appears here, no company codes are assigned to the controlling area.

  • Cost center question..pls help

    Hi,
thanks for the reply...but what I am looking for is not a change in the standard hierarchy but to replace it...let me try and explain....
there is this alternate hierarchy called "abc" and a standard hierarchy called "Pqr". Now the company is wanting to replace the pqr with abc....i am not sure if there is a transaction available for this....or if you have any idea to do this in a couple of steps. The need is really urgent for the company...if you can tell me if there is any sap notes in OSS which I can refer and run also it would be great...thanks a million for your response..I will await your response...

    Dear Venkat!
Actually this is not "easy" at all. You would have to do the following: call transaction OKKP->choose the controlling area->on the first view try to change the field "Standard-Hierarchy"...an error will be processed if You have already assigned cost centers to "PQR". To make "ABC" Your new standard hierarchy You have to change field "KHINR" in database table "TKA01" with an ABAP or
SE16N. Just fill "ABC" into TKA01-KHINR. Afterwards re-run transaction OKEON. There You will still see the "old"
hierarchy. Use another trick here: search for the top-node of Your new hierarchy (e.g. "ABC"->then the system will find it). The search is done on the left screen section.
Click on the search result on the left to display this new hierarchy. The change should then be finished. Test this first in a sandbox system!
    I hope this helps.
    Best regards

  • Substitution not working for Cost Center

    Hi All,
We are using OBBH to make a substitution for Foreign Exchange valuation to meet one of requirement as cost center at line item level to be blank, we have made cost center field blank in substitution.
When we run the foreign exchange valuation system is updating the cost center from the source line item to the difference account. It is not considering the substitution value which is blank in cost center. But we have added some other fields in substitution those are working fine other than the cost center.
Do I need to make any settings for this to take cost center as blank at line item level.
    Regards,
    Shilpa

    Hi Shilpa,
the substitution may be used for filling the cost center when it is empty, but not for clearing it when it is filled, because the substitution isn't called when the cost center is already filled.
    Please read OSS note 1296568.

  • Substitution for Cost Center

    Dear all,
I need to use substitution for cost center in some business scenario. Because FI document is automatically created by SD MM side, so cost center maynot be filled in if this account is configured for default accoun assignment in OKB9.
Now, I want to define a substitution for Cost center field. Such as: if some combination is met, cost center will be filled with A or B ..... (depends on the combination of prerequisites).
But when I create Substitution, I cannot find field Cost center BSEG-KOSTL in Substitutable fileds Table.
Do you know how to do it ?
Thank you very much in advance,
    Best regards,
    Sylvecat.

    Hello!
See table GB01 for field KOSTL.
The field EXCLUDE are assigned? If positive that´s should be the cause of your problem.
Disable this mark to turn field KOSTL able to substitution.
    best regards.

  • Substitution written under cost center accounting is not working for tcode MB1B but working for MIGO_GI

    Hi All
Do you know why this behaviour different for subtitution written under cost center accounting.
We have written substitution using coding block table. Logic of substitution is in case of any GL maintained in a set is being used for posting , then we will replace the cost center with profit center vlaue. Reason being we have same naming convention for Cost center and Profit center.
    Thanks
    Sonia

    Hi,
MB1B is t-code for stock transfer posting.
Stock transfer posting generate FI document using balance sheet account, not P&L account.
Because you don’t create cost elements using balance sheet accounts related to stock, I think that Substitution written under cost center accounting is not working for tcode MB1B is right.

  • Cost center substitution not working

    Hello,
I have made a CO cost center substitution in OKC9, callup point 1, prerequisites: sales office=1010, sales group=n01, substitution COBL-KOSTL with "na001".
The sustitution is active , I have run program RGUGBR00 but still not working. When I try to make a delivery I get the message that the account needs CO allocation.
I have also try using FI substitution for BSEG-KOSTL, but I can't get the same prerequisites (sales office and sales group).
    Please, suggest a soution.

    Hi
ABAP code needs to be written in the exit... With in the code you need to read the fields coming in from SD... Ask your abaper if it is possible to use some field symbols and read the data from memory directly
I dont know the technicalities much, but it should be possible to read the fields

  • Using Substitution (GGB1) to change Cost Center assigned in (OKB9)

    Dear all,
    SAP Platform: ECC6
I've configured both VKOA (GL assignment) and OKB9 (auto acct assignment) for sales billing. In OKB9, I've mapped one cost center to one GL, i.e. GL-123456 = Cost-center-A.
Alright, now that I've a specific condition that requires to change the cost center at ad-hoc basis, i.e. for material # 2345678 only, I need to assign to GL-123456 but Cost-center-B instead. So, I attempt to use the substitution rule - GGB1 to replace the cost center based on material #. I did the configuration under Cost Accounting | Line Item by creating a new substitution and defaulted the constant to Cost-center-B when material # = 2345678.
So, I ran the billing in VF01 but the Cost-center-A was pickup instead of Cost-center-B. It appears that the substitution hasn't been triggered. Did I miss a step?
    Thanks.
    Steven

    Hi,
Have you tried after removing the cost center assignment in OKB9?
    Thanks,
    Krish.

  • Cost Center Substitution - KB21N

    Hello,
I am trying to use a Cost Center substitution on transaction KB21N to bring in the employees HR Mini Master Cost center when manually charging labor through KB21N. The problem is that the susbstitution populates both Sending and Receiving Cost Centers on the line item.
This means that I cannot charge labor to orders or project/WBS because I get a multiple Cost Object Error. Has anyone used a Cost center substitution in KB15N or KB21N that can share the experience.? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Justin

Yes, I can substitute both Activity Type and Cost Center in the Senders. The substitution changes both sending cost center and receiving cost center to the value specified in the sub.  The same is the case for Activity type.
Sub Rule in this case is below.
    CO Area = '8600' AND
    Personnel No. <> '' AND
    Transaction code = 'KB21N' AND
    Order >= '1000000' AND
    Order <= '1999999'
Constant sub for Activity Type of "Other"
    Thanks,
    Justin

  • Cost center "Substitution" ?

    Dear Experts,
We have "Profit Center Substituion" in SD. I would like to ask that
Do we have "substitution" in Cost Center side? and how to set it.
Because I would like to use it when we post goods issue. Now I use "OKB9"; but it still have limit.
    Please share idea.
    Many thanks,
    Prach

    Dear Prach,
In logistics transaction Profit centre is derived from the material master and cost centre is derived from profit centre
please check with your CO consultant and change accordingly
    please reward

  • SAP HR vs 4.7 Cost center change question

Question 1: If you make a cost center change to PP01 will the data automatically update on pa20 or do you have to to an action on following the cost center change.

    Yes Kawana,
You would need to run the Cost Center Change Action to make the Org. Assignment Change.
With this action,it will reflect the new Cost Center for the Employee.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Questions about Planning Cost Center - Cost Element

    Hi,
I'm trying to find a solution to this customer requirement.
We need to do a transfer between cost center/cost element to another cost center/cost element for a planned value. This is possible using 2 time the KP06 transaction (first adding on the receiver, then decrease on the sender).
We need to do this in only one CO document or with a unique transaction (like KB11N for primary costs). How to do this?
Another question: we try to modify the text of the document (COBK-BLTXT) but we can't find the appropriate transaction (KABP is only display). How to do this task?
    Thanks
    Regards.

    HI,
First Of all lets not have a fight
    Now the solution
    In Ksv1
Whne u define the segment header in the below tab U define the receiver rule ..
In the Variable portion type define " Planned cost"
Also dont forget to make the tick mark to Planned value in the sender header
then enter the receiver mention the receiver cost object

  • [CO-CCA] Cost Center Substitution in case of a statistical order

    Dear All,
We are trying to implement a substitution wherein for a Cost Element, if a statistical order is used it should substitute a Cost Center.
Below are the steps that were used.
    Prerequisites
    Co Code= 'x' and COBL HKONT= '123456' and COBL-CO_KAAUF = '2'
    Substitution
    COBL-KOSTL ='ABCD'
However, Cost Center is not getting substituted.
    1) What did i miss
    2) Can the system derived values (ex:COBL-CO_KAAUF = '2') be used as part of prerequisites.
    Thanks & Regards
    Surya Varma

    Hello Surya,
I think maybe you can add COBL-CO_KAKST = '1' in Prerequisites.
If this does not work, you can try to use user exit.
Please also refer to note 392273. I think there is helpful information in this note.
    Best regards,

  • Sales order - cost center posting

In a sales order, the field cost center (header rellated) appears only by entering an order reason.
Are there other possibilities to open cost center field for entry?

    Hi,
If the account in question is defined as cost element (KA03), then it requires an assignment to CO. Profit centre is not sufficient, as it's not a CO entity, but EC-PCA. If you want to set different cost centre depending on input paramteres (plant), you can define a substitution (OKC9). Otherwise, if you just want to set a default you could use OKB9 or KA02.

    Eli
