Summary layout and detail layout

In my Web interface page, there are two layout, top one is summry layout and the bottom one is detail layout
The header for summary is as following:
company code,
personal area,
The header for the detail is as following:
company code,
personal area,
position.
the position is a leading column in summary layout.
The requirments is that the user can click any row in the summary layout, the detail layout should display the detail information for that position.
I define position in the detail planning level as vairable. definel both layout's "Excel Web Component" as true, define the variable position's
property for "Source for Selection" as summary layout.
according to the F1 online documents for "Source for Selection" Scenario 2, it should display the detail information according to the row I selected.
But, if I predefine a value for position variable in BPS0 through set variable, after I launch the web application it will the detail for that that position,but can not change to other position; if I leave the position variable's value as blank, it will result with error says that Restrict variable POSITION (Position) to single. Anybody can help?

Hi,
  use the handle in the variant parameter to the alv function module..That way the summary layout will be stored separately with the detail report..
Check this thread of how to use this..

    Please advise how these two icons can be activated.

    You are missing an authorization object in your user profile.  Run FBL3N and then run SU53 to see which auth obj is missing.  Then send those details to your Security.

        gs_variant_lic-report = sy-repid.
        gs_variant_lic-username = sy-uname.
          CALL METHOD gi_alv_lic->set_table_for_first_display

              is_layout                    = ls_layout
    However, the Select layout and Save Layout button dont appear.
    Instead i get the button 'Choose Layout'.
    If i dont pass gs_variant, i get single button 'Change Layout'.

    How can i achieve that?

    Hi,
    The object F_IT_ALV has a field, the activity ACTVT, which can
    contain four permitted values: 01, 02, 03 and 70.
    Activity 03 corresponds to the minimum authorization, which is the
    most restricted one: You can only select layouts which have
    been configured already. In particular, all of the other functions
    named above are inactive with activity 03.
    I guess that your user-id have set activity 03 for this object.
    The SAP notes 374656 and 409190 are recommended.
    So, if the values 01 and 02 are not included, then
    the user can't change and save layouts.
    For the line item display in FI the authorization
    object FI_IT_ALV has been created as an extra security check in addi-
    tion to the ALV authorization object S_ALV_LAYO.
    Please check note 374656 where you should be able to find
    relevant info about this. Also note 637554 should be helpful.

    Aidan

  • MB51 - report layout and detail list

    We are running jobs with MB51 with a specific layout.  when the report displays, we click the detail box to convert it to a one line report.
    Is it possible t execute MB51 and have the detail list display - so this could be run in the background and the one line list display would be the spool file.
    OR - Can I create a one line report with MAterial number oand vendor on each line with quantities, values etc.
    thanks
    Althea

    I finally had a chance to look into this -
    All report layouts are using a "header" line and a "Position" line
    It is this Header and Position that are making it "not useful" as a download file at this level.  As I said - if I click "details" - I get the report I'd really like to see for back ground process spool file or export file.
    Any ideas how to create a report layout without the header and position line? or just no header line would work.  When I try modifying an existing report - Material and Plant are always on the header line and not available on the position line.
    Any and all help will be rewarded -  thank you

  • E-Mail Summary Report and Detailed Report Automatically

    Hi, I have just started a new job (1st IT job since leaving college) and I've been told that our Small Business Server 2011 used to email a Summary Report directly to a specified email address, as well as a weekly Detailed Report to the same email address,
    but that has stopped sending reports now. How do i make sure that the reports are automatically generated and sent out via email to the specified address. Any help would be great.

    Hi,
    Based on your description, I understand that there some issue occurred in Report feature in the SBS 2011.
    On current situation, please refer to following steps and troubleshoot this issue. Then check if can help you.
    1. Login the SBS server. Please open Windows SBS Console and select
    Reports tab. In the Reports panel, select a report (Summary or Detailed), then View report properties. In Report Properties page, please select
    E-Mail Options to check if had added the correct user account or e-mail address. Also please select Schedule tab, and check if had configured correctly.
    2. Then manually click
    Generate report option in Tasks. Please check if successfully generated the report. If not, please refer to following TechNet article and repair Monitoring and Reporting features in the SBS server. Then monitor the result.
    Repair Monitoring and Reporting Features
    in Windows Small Business Server 2011 Standard
    3. If generated the report successfully, please manually click
    Generate report and e-mail report option in Tasks. Then check if run successfully. Or any error message occurred?
    4. If this issue still exists, please refer to following path: C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business Server\Logs\MonitoringServiceLogs and check if there has some log files
    which be related to Report (Summary or Detailed). If has, please check if can find some more clues. Meanwhile, please open Event Viewer and check if find some relevant errors. Those may hope us to go further analyze.
    If any update, please feel free to let me know.
    Hope this helps.

  • OSA: fonts in offline layout and print layout

    All:
    For Objective Setting and Appraisals we have our appraisal templates set up and the download function working. When we print the document using the "standard" template the fonts are too large for the space allowed for them, and are thus cut off.
    We have the same problem with the offline layout in which the document can be completed and uploaded; the fonts are cut off since they are too large.
    Does anyone know how to address this problem? Is there a setting I'm missing? Are there other layouts than the default? Can you create your own layout?
    Thank you,
    Jerry

    We found that OSS Note 1372480 will fix this, in case anyone else has this problem.

  • Can't use {tag_itemid} in web app detail layouts

    Hey gang,
    I was trying to help someone implement a rating star system for their web app items and they wanted the ratings widget also to appear in the detail layout but for the widget to work they needed each item to have a unique id.  It works fine for them in the list layout but the {tag_itemid} does not render in the detail layout. This is a third-party star ratings widget/service so they store the rating data on another server and each time they show the ratings widget it needs to be tied to a unique id.  I suggested adding a "uniqueid" field to their web app but they intimated that having the client add/update a new uniqueid for each item (of which they have thousands) would be unmanageable.
    I think this is a bug.  Is there a reason we can't use {tag_itemid} in the web app detail layout?

    brilliant!
    what is the usual timeline for a sprint Mario lol?
    Defintely agree with Liam in that most of the tags/module tags for both the list and detail layouts should be universal as there are some situations where you need to use the tags dynamically to create outputs that need to be shown in both...
    for example
    I'm using a polldaddy rating system for a webapp currently and to get it to show up on each listing item separately requires a unique ID so using {tag_itemid} made perfect sense as it wouldnt break any polldaddy coding... however I cannot call the same rating system into the detail page (where it would logically be repeated) because I cannot replicate the same ID with no {tag_itemid} availble.
    Asecond example is:
    Since we had managed to put a readers upload gallery into a nice compact layout in the list layout using litebox and the ?Action=thumbnail feature the client really wanted to keep the photo gallery commenting system simple aslo (not to many steps) so ideally we would have liked to only ustilise the list-template and put the comment feedback tag in a sliding div (to show & hide it) so that readers could stay on one list page... but once again this wasnt possible becuase the {module_ratingfeedback} was not available in the list view (forcing us to make them click through to the detail page).
    FYI: heres a sample link to what we had to put together in the end for the above - still slightly in development
    http://www.nzhunter.co.nz/test-gallery
    Anyway I think you get the idea - more flexibility and universal usage options for tags/module calls would be great.
    Look forward to the updates at some point.

  • Functionality for Select and Save layout in a report output

    Hi,
    I had developed a report program containing several fields in the output and requires the Functionality for Select layout and Save layout in a report output.
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Shariq.

    While calling the FM for List Display ( "REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY" or "REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY" ) set the Parameter I_SAVE for Setting the Layout and Selecting a different Layouts.
    The possible values for I_SAVE are "A", "U", "X" or others. Depending on the requiement you can set different values for the Parameter I_SAVE.
    ' ' = display variants cannot be saved
    Defined display variants (e.g. delivered display variants) can be selected for presentation independently of this flag.
    Changes can not be saved.
    'X' = standard save
    Display variants can be saved as standard display variants.
    User-specific saving is not possible.
    'U' = only user-specific saving
    The user can only save display variants user-specifically
    'A' = standard and user-specific saving
    The user can save a display variant user-specifically and
    as standard display variant. The user chooses in the display variant
    save popup.

  • Save and select layout

    hi experts,
    i had an requirement to display save layout and select layout in the application toolbar of alv grid display.
    please help me.
    regards,
    karthik

    hello,
    First declare variable disvariant:
    data: gs_disvariant type disvariant value sy-repid.
    then you must set is_variant and i_save parameters in alv grid.
    call method go_grid->set_table_for_first_display
        exporting
          is_variant                    = gs_disvariant
          i_save                        = 'A'
          is_layout                     = gs_layout
        changing
          it_outtab                     = gt_outtab
          it_fieldcatalog               = gt_fieldcat[]      .

  • IE7 locks onto Mobil layout vs desktop layout

    I am developing a new site and using the fluid grid layout.  I have tested it on my laptop in Firefox v18, Internet Explorer 9, and Chrome v24.  Everything was fine until I tested it on an XP desktop.  Everything looked fine in Firefox v18 on the desktop, however, Internet Explorer 7 did not show the Content1 and Content2 as side by side columns that all the other browsers showed.  In using the IE Developer Tool Bar it shows that the division style for them is width=100%.  In reviewing my css the only place where Content 1 and Content 2 has width=100% is in the Mobile Layout for 480px and below.  The Tablet and Desktop Layout both have those widths below 50%.

    It just seems like IE7 is locking onto the very first section of the css and not moving to the desktop and I just haven't been able to solve this so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Verne

    I have been doing a lot of looking around for possible solutions to this IE 7 issue with media queries.  While there were a lot of diverse views on the subject I came across an article that seemed to be an easier solution to try than everything else.  I downloaded the js file they recommended, copied and pasted
    <!-- css3-mediaqueries.js for IE less than 9 -->
    <!--[if lt IE 9]>
    <script src="http://css3-mediaqueries-js.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/css3-mediaqueries.js"></script>
    <![endif]-->
    into my document and now IE 7 shows the web page just like FF, IE9, and Chrome does.  It was a super easy fix, even for a novice.
    I hope this helps someone else like it has helped me.
    Thanks,
    Verne

  • Oracle Report - Paper Layout vs Web Layout

    Hi,
    Can anyone tell me the pros and cons for using paper layout and web layout for oracle report?

    Hi there,
    This was recently asked - please refer to this link:
    paper layout & web layout

  • Use different Layouts for Summary and Details in Drill down report

    Hi All,
    I have a 2 level drill down report in ALV.
    The summary report has certain fields and the Detail report has different fields. Now my problem is that when i use a default layout (with all fields of summary report) for the summary report, and drill down to the detail report i'm missing the fields on detail that are not in Summary. And if i save the default layout as default (with all fields of Detail) and go back to sumary, I'm missing the some other fields on summary (which are not on detail report).
    Is there a way to make different default layouts for each of those summary and detail reports:
    Also as the layouts are choosen by the user, i cannot hardcode any particular layout;
    So if the user chooses a layout for detail; it has to stay the same layout for the detail report if he goes to summary and then back to detail; unless the user changes the layout again.
    I'm using two different Layout types for each report. but i still cannot get the desired effect.
    Data:
          gt_layout_s             type slis_layout_alv,
          gt_layout_d             type slis_layout_alv,
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program       = g_repid
          is_layout                = <b>gt_layout_s</b>
          i_callback_top_of_page   = g_top_of_page
          i_callback_user_command  = g_user_command
          i_callback_pf_status_set = g_status
          i_save                   = g_save
          is_variant               = gs_variant
          it_fieldcat              = gt_fieldcat[]
          it_events                = gt_events[]
        importing
          es_exit_caused_by_user   = gs_exit_caused_by_user
        tables
          t_outtab                 = it_summary.
      call function 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY'
        exporting
          i_callback_program       = g_repid
          is_layout                = <b>gt_layout_d</b>
          i_callback_top_of_page   = g_top_of_page
          i_callback_user_command  = g_user_command
          i_callback_pf_status_set = g_status
          i_save                   = g_save
          is_variant               = gs_variant
          it_fieldcat              = gt_fieldcat[]
          it_events                = gt_events[]
        importing
          es_exit_caused_by_user   = gs_exit_caused_by_user
        tables
          t_outtab                 = it_detail_disp.

    Here is how you differentiate between the layout of two different grids. There is the parameter, IS_VARIANT in the function. You usually leave it empty or pass only the report name and username. <b>What you need to do is to pass unique string for each grids to the HANDLE field of the parameter IS_VARIANT.</b> You can probably hard code it as HEADER and DETAILS in your case. Once that is done, system identified that these two different layout for different grids.
