Sun One w/htaccess, need to find session timeout

All,
Users login to web site using htaccess basic authentication, need to find out if there is a setting for session timeout.
Thanks.

Hello,
Although I am a bit unclear about the question. But please see if the following helps;
I can query the v$session to know about the SID. Here is a simple example;
select  sid,
substr(username,1,15) "DB UserName",
substr(osuser,1,15) "OS UserName",
substr(command,1,3) CMD,
substr(machine,1,10) Machine,
terminal, process, status,
substr(program,1,50) "OS Program Name"
from v$session
where type = 'USER'
order by usernameHere is a sample output;
SID DB UserName     OS UserName     CMD MACHINE    TERMINAL         PROCESS      STATUS   OS Program Name
              7                 SYSTEM          0   ORAAPPPROD ORAAPPPROD       976          ACTIVE   ORACLE.EXE
              8                 SYSTEM          0   ORAAPPPROD ORAAPPPROD       3548         ACTIVE   ORACLE.EXE

  • Finding session timeout period programatically

    Hi,
I need to findout the session timeout period of portal (not the application.. I do not want to specify any ExpirationTime at the application level). Based on this value, I want to notify user a minute before the session expires using Timed Trigger UI. I searched a lot but couldnt find any API that can provide this information. We are on Netweaver 7.0 SP8.
Appreciate if anyone could tell the API name or provide some hints.
    Thanks

  • Sun One application server connection problem for Oracle DB

On our project in live environments we have six Sun One application servers that have been configured to connect to RAC Oracle database using OCI drivers. ( JDBC thick driver)
Sun one application server : Version 7.0.0
    Oracle Database : Version 9.2.0.4.0
Following are two scenarios where Sun one server receives an error while attempting to perform any DML operations onto the database e.g. when you will try to send a insert/update msg through sun One.
Case 1: - If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Alter package/function/procedure.... command
    problem
Any attempt to perform a DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will fail.
Sun One application server needs to be bounced to get an up-to-date state of the package.
Case 2: If the Oracle package/procedure/function is compiled using Create or Replace package/function/procedure.... command
    problem
First attempt to perform any DML operation using RMI calls though Sun one application server with already established oracle connection will always fail. Any subsequent attempts will be successful.
We are using JDBC OCI think drivers. I tried flushing Shared pool at the Oracle side but it didn't help. For some reason Sun One seems to Cache the session information for already establised connections with Oracle database. As its live system we don't want any outage. i.e we know bouncing oracle app server will solve the problem.
So just wondering is there way/workaround to make aware the already estlised connection from sun one appserver to Oracle DB about changed packages/proceduress in the DB?
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.

Forgot one thing: when I use remote debugging , it works.

For 6.0 is <session-cookie is-secure="true"/> inside the <web-app> tags in web-apps.xml but I'm not able to find this setting for 6.1.

There is a fix in 6.1sp5 that enables the session cookie to be marked as secure.

I already deploy successfully to Tomcat 5 and (of course) PE 8. The common denominator with the same problem on OC4J is that both servers are j2ee 1.3 (even if Sun One runs with JVM 1.4).
I copy the jstl 1.0 jars to some directory and enter such directory in the classpath suffix of JVM.
    Do Im missing something?
    TIA

    Hello,
    Try the following:
After deploying the WAR file, by hand, add a sun-web.xml file to
the deployed path in WEB-INF and make sure classloader delegate is set to false.
    <class-loader delegate="false"/>
Now the bundled libs will be considered first.
(After building the project, see a sample sun-web.xml
in the build/WEB-INF folder - change Project view to Filesystem
view, by right-click on the Project top-level node in the Project
    Navigator)
You may need to include JSF jars in the WAR file by
modifying the JSF Support library reference (mounted
by default in the Project Navigator) by enabling all
    libraries for deployment)

We have 30 ipads at our school and it is great.  We are about 850 student on my school and everyone are using the ipads. One hour at the time. (we have a booking system.)
I teach music and are using Garageband. I need to find away were my students that are working on a project can export the files and save them somewhere, so when they 7 days later open Garage band can import there song with all the correct  midi-tracks. When I export the song to Icloud the song become an Mp4 file (I think).  And I can import the files via Icloude.
This is because too many times the song has been sabotages during the week

    Dan,
your students could store their projects in iCloud, only you would continously have to change the AppleIDs of the iPads, so each student could store the songs with their own AppleID.  I don't think this will be feasable.
The other possibility would be to share the projects to iTunes and to download them to iTunes  on a Mac at the end of each lesson. Does your school have Macs? This will not work with PCs.
See this link:  GarageBand for iPad: Get answers fast http://help.apple.com/garageband/ipad/1.2/index.html#chsec12c387
Look at the section "Share GarageBand songs",
Send a GarageBand song to iTunes:

I have MAC OSX 10.5.8 and need to install adobe illustrator. I checked the compatibility and found that CS5 will work. Can any one help where i can find it. The trail version is fine with me as i just have to use it for couple of days till i get my mac book back from service. Can any one help me on this.

    You are welcome, ameronweb.
To elaborate a bit, you may come across offers of a new/unopened/unregistered version, which is the simplest case (you would need a guarantee). Other cases require much detailed information (and a guarantee).
If upgrading to 10.6.8 or higher is an option, you could use CS6.

  • Sun One (Netscape) Plugin: Losing HTTP Session Problem

    Hi All,
We are having some trouble with HTTP sessions. Sometimes our browser will have a session cookie set but will be issued a new session cookie anyways. This seems to occur only one in every 10 attempts, and seems to occur more frequently on certain machines. When this occurs we lose all of the session data that we were previously using.
    Our environment is as follows:
We have three load balanced Sun One Web Servers fronting 6 mananged 8.1 sp5 web logic instances. We've verified that multicast is working and that we've configured the plugin/application to have a unique cookie name already. We've also set the persistence type to 'replicated'
Only clue that we have so far comes from our plug-in logs. It seems to be complaining about connection pooling:
Mon Jan 22 16:04:39 2007 getPooledConn: No more connections in the pool for Host[XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] Port[8003] SecurePort[8004]
Mon Jan 22 16:04:39 2007 Connect returns -1, and error no set to 55, msg 'A connect operation on a socket is not complete.'
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Ray Siu

Check if your web app has the same cookie name (weblogic.xml) as defined in the obj.conf.

    Hi Guys
    I found the answer already...
    u have to put jsse.jar , jnet.jar , jcert.jar in jdk1.31./jre/lib/ext folder
And set some provider in java.security
while it was done automatically in jdk1.4.1
