Superrip is a j

I just try out the superrip function on a few songs and I was surprised by the audio quality which is horrible. To comfirm my doubt, I try normal ripping using the creative mediasource and the normal 28kbps ripped wma sounds even much better than those superriped file. I seriously hope this superrip function is still bugged as in 'beta' stage, and there will be a patch to fix this, else I will be very disappointed with creative.

You're right. It's a joke.
I enable 24bit crystalizer and cmss-3dsurround/cmss-3dheadphone and encode in wma format. The superrip sound come out hollow and dull compare to a normal rip wma/mp3 format. Any creative representati've can reply to this?
Why would you like to add permanent effects to your music files?

  • Lost My SuperRip and a MediaSource and Zen V Plus Quest

Seems as if after I did my software updates for MediaSource, I don't have the ability to use the SuperRip. The regular rip ability is there, but no SuperRip. I want it back. I tried uninstalling MediaSource and reinstalling, but it did not work.
My other question- I have a Creative XF-i Fataity sound card, a Creative ZEN V Plus, & a Muvo V200 (my daughter's). When I install the software for those, it installs MediaSource 5. Now I have the MediaSource (one that came with X-Fi) and MediaSource 5. I'm surprised to see the two install themselves separately. Anything wrong with uninstalling one of them?
Finally, when I updated the firmware on my ZEN V Plus, the sync manager does not work. I get the dialog box that asks if I want to send a report to Microsoft.

  • Will there be a patch beta?

I, like many, have experienced the iTunes 5 services related problem.
Is sounds as if Apple is working to correct this problem with a patch
My question is - Does Apple run a (closed or open) Beta for their patches and product revs?
I have found runnin a real (not marketing driven) beta to be quite valuable in improving robustness, ensuring compatibility, and exposing problems that the (often overworked and underpowered) SQA team simply isn't going to catch (esp if we're talking a port to a system that isn't native to the dev)
I would expect, like other products, there to be technical folks who use your products perfectly willing to run beta SW and so equipped to run on a test platform so that danger to data or functionality of a primary working system is not compromised
I realize that marketing tends to want to use Betas as a "buzz generator" and that the "product image" tends to be more of the "monolithic/automagic it just works" tenor, but I think we all realize that it is still a technical product and that even the sleekest automobile has an engine under the aerodynamic hood and I honestly don't see running betas (probably closed) as being counter to this. Instead it would show the development as responsve and dilligent.

  • Creative media source-How to apply audio cleanup permanant

I have some older blues in mp3 format that I have downloaded and some that I have ripped from cd. They have alot of hissing and "noise" in the background, when in creative media source organizer, I use audio clean-up button to get rid of hissing and noise, but if I want to burn those songs to cd, how do I apply the audio clean up to the file.
Also It mentioned in all of the advertising that you can "super rip" your audio cd's, which I have done, but it also says you can permanantly change your whole music "library" into better quality (I am assuming using crystalizer), but how do I permanantly apply these settings to the music files on my hard dri've. Does any one know how to do this, or if there are any good "links" or tutorials I should look at, thanks in advance for replys.

No, you cannot apply audio clean up permanently to the files. Audio clean up is a unique feature of MediaSource's playback. The noise will be removed by MediaSource before MediaSource plays the audio. However, the physical file is not changed at all. One trick you can use is to record What U Hear while playing the files with clean up enabled. This way, you can record the clean audio.
SuperRip's audio enhancement cannot be applied permanently to your existing files. You can use the same trick of recording What U Hear.

  • Possible to convert existing MP3 using CMSS-3D and Crystaliz

I'm quite impressed with the way CMSS-3D and 24-bit Crystalizer can upmix lower quality recordings but I'd like the effect to be permanent on some of my existing files. What I would like to do is to resample my existing audio files much in the way super-rip handles the conversion of CD's to WMA. I have not yet found this option or even know if this is possible. I'd appreciate some pointers.
    Thanks in advanced.

    # SuperRip? allows you to rip your CDs into Xtreme Fidelity quality.
The X-Fi 24-bit Crystalizer and X-Fi CMSS-3D features allow you to "SuperRip" CDs into Xtreme Fidelity quality so you can now enjoy permanently enhanced music instead of low-quality MP3 files!
If previous suggestion didn't help then the only possible is to try, if recording your audio files while playing with these effects applied, using Creative Media Source with recording source select to "What U Hear" can do the job.

  • Xtreme music and C&

    Hi guys,
Just found this lovely issue Creative forgot about. Music card needs to be switched between entertainment and game mode. Is that necessary for other better cards? Anyway, I have it on game and I was playing C&C and then got to those movies between levels, well, now I can barely hear what they are saying because I should be in entertainment mode, not in game mode. What do I do?

    Hello,
First of all, thanks for the answer.
Yes, but when I try to click on the SuperRip button, the programm says that a component to upmix the cd is failing and I should reinstall the programm.
I have tried It about four times, deinstall the whole mediasource programm and reinstall it, but It's everytime the same.
Do you have any idea, that can solve the problem?
Sorry for my bad english, but I am German...

  • X-Fi Xtreme Music - dual channel? headphone c

Hi,I'm looking to buy a soundcard that will enable me to play music from one channel through the speakers and music from another source via my headphones. I think I need a dual channel soundcard...or maybe 2 soundcards. Would this be suitable or would I need to get the IO case upgrade?thanksBarry

  • Which players support super r

    Hi
Having just installed a new Creative Soundcard with "Superrip" I'm wondering if any of creatives Mediaplayers actually support it. All I can find is MP3 and WMA

    Thanks,
I have a new Soundblaster X-Fi and its the lossless WMA I'm interested in.
I think Creative have missed a trick. Many people buy their cards because they are percieved to be the best quality. Ditto for the MP3 players which are seen as better, if not as 'bling' as an iPod. Its daft to not support the higher quality encoding introduced by a sister product. Do any players support this creative or otherwise?

  • Super Rip - X

I got two questions about the super rip feature on the X-Fi XtremeMusic:
. Is it possible to rip CDs into MP3 format while retaining the 24-bit/CMSS 3D enhancements? (I have an iPod so converting to WMA is useless to me)
    2. I got an error message while using Rip (Not Super Rip) saying my CDROM doesn't support digital ripping. The thing is I've had no problem digitally ripping using other programs. Is there any way to fix this problem?Message Edited by Darklord250 on 0-3-2006 04:9 AM

No the superrip enhancements can't be put into MP3 directly, only into WMA or WAV. i know there is a trial mp3 command line converter and player but not sure if the software is commercialy avilable.
By any chance you use deamon tools v4.0.0. I only asked (may not be the same problem i had) because when i had version v4 installed it gave me that error about cd rom not supporting digital ripping but changing to version 4.03 solved the problem for me (only mentioning this but may not be the same problem i had).
