Support for JSTL

Hello
Which version of OC4J will have the support for JSTL?
I would like to start using the core tags <c: > and
don't know if 0c4j 9.0.3, 9.0.4, or 10g to try.

We're using JSTL and running OC4J 9.0.3.
You have to download the JSTL tag libraries at http://jakarta.apache.org/taglibs/doc/standard-doc/intro.html and add them to your project manually. Just download the 1.0.3 version, extract c.tld, jstl.jar and standard.jar and put them under WEB-INF and WEB-INF/lib in your project.
I believe you can use this with any version of OC4J.

There was a long discussion on how to make it work. I think I remember somewhere Craig posting that it was going to work but you should search the archives of this list for more info on it. If I remember correctly there were a few issues with using the EL and the expert group did not want to require JSP 2.0 or something like that.

JSTL Expression Support For All Attributes

There are mentions of JSTL expression support for the
modelReference attribute within the specification (although I have found problems in the EA3 in this regard), but
but I did not find any mention of supporting the same for all
attributes. To me, this seems very important, especially for
attributes like "onClick" where I might want to do something special:

</c:foreach>
In the case above, this would allow me to call a single javascript function that triggers a delete action based on the current index within a list based view.
There are many cases that I can think of that this would be incredibly useful.

No EL support in JSTL tags?

I plan to use both JSTL and JSP 2.0 EL in my JSPs. I tried to use an if-tag, with an expression in the test attribute like this:

The JSTL specs show examples like this, i.e. using JSTL and EL together, which is a natural thing as JSTL actually introduced EL. So why does Tomcat give me an error when I access the page:

Twin Libraries
The JSTL tag libraries come in two versions which differ only in the way they support the use of runtime expressions for attribute values.
In the JSTL-RT tag library, expressions are specified in the page's scripting language. This is exactly how things currently work in current tag libraries.
In the JSTL-EL tag library, expressions are specified in the JSTL expression language. An expression is a String literal in the syntax of the EL.
When using the EL tag library you cannot pass a scripting language expression for the value of an attribute. This rule makes it possible to validate the syntax of an expression at translation time.
Well, this confuses me... perhaps I have simply trouble understanding the words....
RT allows me to use the "page's scripting language" (this has to be JSP EL, since there is no other (server sided) scripting language).
EL specifies expressions in EL (which, what wonder, is EXACTLY the same as before?!)
The last part explicitely says, that you cannot pass EL as parameter for JSTL tags using the EL version, but I still do not understand the fundamental difference between EL and RT. Why can't the syntax of an expression be evaluated at translation time when using RT? I mean, in both cases the expression is in the page and won't change anymore.

Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?

I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
(While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.

ISE 1.2.1 support for Yosemite?

Hello all, just curious. I see in the release notes for ISE 1.2.X that support for Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) was available via patch 12 on the ISE1.2.0 train of code. That said, I see nothing in the release notes stating any support for Yosemite for any of the patches for ISE1.2.1, the latest being patch 3 released 1 week after ISE 1.2.0 patch 12. Can anyone please advise if Yosemite is in fact supported on 1.2.1 with patch 3??

OS X 10.10 is supported in ISE 1.2 p11, 1.2.1 p2 and 1.3.
Patch 12 for 1.2 and Patch 3 for 1.2.1 fix other issues for OS X 10.10, and I recommend updating to the latest patches for these fixes.
Here is the entry in the Release Notes detailing the fix for 10.10 in 1.2 p 12:
MacOsXAgent versrion 4.9.5.3 should be used and MacOsXSPWizard 1.0.0.30
Note that the description for these files denote ISE 1.2 Patch 11/12, ISE 1.3 release and above. ISE 1.2.1 is not mentioned, but follows the bug fix/release schedule for 1.2, with an adjustment.

Apple Support for FCE HD - $200 per call???

i had what was probably a minor issue with editing in final cut express hd today. So naturally, i called applecare. They told me that it had been past the 90 days given to us for support from the point of purchase. Fine. However, the apple support representative went on to tell me that Applecare does NOT support pro applications and that i have to pay $199 per incident? I paid $299 for the product itself! Last i checked, i-pods were selling pretty well and i don't think steve jobs needs that money! Is apple serious? Where do they get off charging $200 for a ONE TIME PHONE CALL? Just because FCE HD is a "pro" application, apple can't assume that everyone who purchases this product is a "pro" from the start!
Where else am i supposed to get phone technical support for FCE HD??

As a last resort on optimizing my stored procedure ( Below ) i wanted to create a Selective XML index ( Normal XML indexes doesn't seem to be improving performance as needed ) but i keep getting this error within my stored proc . Selective XML

How do I get support for Windows 7 on, and a W7 backup disk for, my new ThinkPad?

I know these have got to be stupid questions, since I am sure that they have to have been asked before (unless they are clearly explained somewhere that everyone else has found, and I am somehow completely missed it), but I did search the forums and was surprised NOT to find any info on getting Windows 7 technical support after it was factory installed in a month-old Thinkpad. I wonder if the apparent defects in my W7, or maybe a different problem in my browser, could be affecting my ability to search to forums?
I believe that my Windows 7 is defective, but calling Lenovo, they just talked about reinstalling Win7 from the partition, which makes no sense, if my W7 copy is defective, wouldn't the copy in the partition be defective too? My mom said she ordered a $20 W7 backup disk with the PC, but I never received it, and now Lenovo tech tells me those aren't actually available, and she must have confused it with the W7 upgrade disk, which didn't sound right, since I thought the upgrade disk was over $100, and I never received that one either anyway. If the W7 that was factory-installed is defective, I am assuming it's a copy of the same one in the partition, so that partition recovery is not feasible, is there any way to reorder a W7 re-install disk that will still register as Genuine Windows 7 on a Thinkpad? Now when I search the Lenovo site, I cannot find ANY W7 disks of any kind, neither a backup for factory-installed W7, nor for upgrade from a prior Windows version. Does anyone know how I could go about re-ordering the W7 backup disk when it appears to be missing from the online catalog? Unless this too is a defect in my browser search: can someone give me the link to page where I could select and re-purchase a W7 backup disk?
It has been a few years since I had a new PC, but I have never even heard of one before that did not come with instruction manuals and OS and support disks, and did not provide any tech support for its own factory-installed software or Windows, at least during the first few months of ownership. Where do new Thinkpad owners turn for individual W7 software support, since Microsoft swears it is Lenovo's responsibility to support W7 under its OEM license, yet Lenovo swears they only support hardware? It almost seems that new users are expected to know everything already, or be initiated enough with the product to know exactly what your problem is and what's causing it, in order to find an online fix. Who do you call if W7 or Lenovo software (but not an ISP issue) appear to be doing something to prevent online access, but there are no discernible hardware issues? Where do you call for individualized W7, as well as Lenovo software, support, especially after no one online has ever heard of your specific issues and has no workable ideas for fixing them, or when your problem prevents you from getting online at all?
