We don't have a timeline for LDAP support. Of course, we offer an
AbstractStoreManager to aid you in adding your own support for other
data stores. There is a complete sample for a simple XML store in the
Kodo download. If you'd like to talk to us about contracting for

in reading these i noted that I have to create the directory
/Appleinternal/Developer/Headers and place the appropriate headers in there.
This is where I'm stuck looking for the right headers for LDAP.

i get the same info from http://www.postfix.org/LDAP_README.html
i do not see lldap and llber in /usr/lib anwhere. do these files get created in the build or do I have to find them? are these the current options?

okay, sasl in addtion to ldap information.

was there on your Tiger default install?
No i did not recompile ldap. Although the thought did cross my mind when i saw that my ldap version was 2.2.19
If you did
re-compile, make sure you used the one from darwin
sources.
Darwin source is 2.2.19
Current version on OpenLDAP site is 2.3.20

Support for regional portal with global LDAP

I have a portal in the APAC region using Windows AD as the LDAP database. Our AD is a global tree with regional servers in each region. My portal points to the local branch of the tree (APAC.company.net) for UME user name resolution and to a very specific folder for group name resolution.
We are now using Kerberos/Windows Integrated Authentication to log on.
The project has been rather successful and now a user in another region wants access to see if it's suitable for them. His userid lives in a different AD (UK.company.net).
I can arrange for his userid to be a member of the necessary groups locally but I can't replicate his userid locally. I may be able to raise the entry point for access to users (point the LDAP database userid path to "company.net" instead of "APAC.company.net") but the performance consequences of searching a much larger user population are probably unsustainable.
I may be able to have the UK user log on to a portal locally over there and federate their portal and mine and grant access through that process.
I may be able to honour a kerberos ticket issued in the UK on my system thus receiving a userid in the ticket without needing to find the userid locally in AD.
I'm looking for advice before I get forced into a quick and dirty solution.

Does WLS 8.1 support external ldap in read-only or full read/write?

In previous releases (e.g. 5.1, 6.1), WLS doesn't provide support for update operations such as creating users and groups when configured to use an external LDAP.
Has this changed in 8.1? In other words, does WLS 8.1 provide support for update operations?

Operationg System : linux/Solaris
Oracle E-Business suite : 11.5.10
Oracle Application Server : 10gAS(latest availble)
Type of integration : SSO and OID with 11i
No third party SSO or LDAP
Qusetions
1.If my SSO Server is down can i login to applications(11i) using normal mode(default login http://servername.xxxx.com:8000/).
2. Is it possible to have appilications (11i) in Linux/Solaris and 10gAS in windows.
Please answer...

You couldn't login into server But You can use the following login
http://servername.xxxx.com:8000/AppsLocalLogin.jsp
For this you need to enable the Appslocallogin Profile option

Creation of Enterprise aliases for LDAP or AD accounts in BO XIR2

As per the SAP note --u201C1401058 I tried to run the script attached for creating enterprise aliases for LDAP account in BO XIR2.However am getting the error "Couldn't create SessionManager ".Below is my system configuration:
BO XIR2
Windows 2003
Tomcat 5.5
Kindly advice how this error could be resolved and also is there any other way to create enterprise aliases for ~5000 LDAP account in BO XIR2.

What happens if you hit update without trying to add a group? This is not a normal issue to get a page not displayed error but it has happened on occasion, possible causes have been bad LDAP groups mapped in the plugin, LDAP configuration issues, LDAP SSL configuration issues, or deployment corruption etc. It really hard to tell. Your best bet may be to open an incident with support(authentication team) to have an engineer take a look.

Actually I am not looking for LDAP (Light weight directory access protocol), I am searching for LAPD (Link Access Protocol - Channel D) it is actually an ISDN control channel protocol. Actually I need to capture LAPD packets coming in from ISDN E1.

Mails shows picture of Addressbook entry but not for LDAP entries

We have a LDAP server working nicely in the company, its integrated into Addressbook and works well when composing new mail.
But... for incoming mails, Mail.app does show the picture of the sender IF AND ONLY IF the server has a addressbook entry. Thats nice, but does not work for LDAP entries.
I would really appreciate Mail supporting to retrieve pictures from LDAP as well (e.g. querying it with senders email address) - does anybody a plugin for Mail.app supporting this or will Apple support this one day?

I have experienced this and it was because I removed the placeholder and just added the image on the entry page. I duplicate blog entries and delete content to add new stuff so don't have to reformat every time, if you do that don't remove the image just add on the top - it should replace the previous image. Hope this helps, it is frustrating at times but the more you learn the easier it becomes.

Lack of support for Canon G7 and G9. Alternatives?

I am really disappointed about the lack of support for the Canon G9, and looking at the list of compatible cameras (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835) I notice that Canon G7 - even if it does not have a RAW format, is not supported either.
I am thinking that the purchase of the G9 may have been premature and that I may need to sell it and get another cam that is supported by Apple/Aperture.
What would you guys do? Is there a cam out there similar to the G9 at the moment that has a Apple-supported RAW format?

I think the camera closest to the G9 that has RAW support from Apple are the Panasonic DMC-LX2/Leica D-Lux 3 twins. Don't know where you are, but in the US, the Panasonic costs about $400. 10MP, 28-112mm (35mm equivalent) Leica lens, very compact body, and RAW output. The Leica costs $599, and has that classic look.
I don't know much about that cameras, but you may want to investigate.

Why no SyncML-support for Harmattan??

I've used SyncML on my N95 with memotoo.com for years. Worked very well. I took it for granted that SyncML would be supported on the N9. But alas, it isn't. I find that really incomprehensible. Worse yet, CalDAV syncing with memotoo doesn't work - I don't know who's to blame for this, but on the desktop it works flawelessly so I do have a suspicion. Even worse: there is no way to sync contacts using CardDAV.
MeeGo (the true MeeGo) has SyncML-support out-of-the-box. And the N9/N950 does have SyncML-support for bluetooth.
Yes, contacts syncing is supported for Ovi. And Google. And Facebook. But I do NOT want to use those services, because of grave privacy risks and because they use yet again some proprietary protocols.
I wonder, what where they thinking at Nokia for NOT supporting some well-known open standards??
(While I'm ranting: why is there ^%@$ Facebook and GTalk-support over XMPP, but no self-defined XMPP account?? Yes, you can add such accounts from the terminal, using mc-tool, but really that's just a kick in the teeth. And where's UPnP/DLNA-support?)

Hey Guys, Did you figure out any way to do PIM sync via SyncML on N9?
I am struggling to get things moving as I come from N8.
N9 just doesnt have any way to sync calendar, tasks with Ovi. Same with Notes.

ISE 1.2.1 support for Yosemite?

Hello all, just curious. I see in the release notes for ISE 1.2.X that support for Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) was available via patch 12 on the ISE1.2.0 train of code. That said, I see nothing in the release notes stating any support for Yosemite for any of the patches for ISE1.2.1, the latest being patch 3 released 1 week after ISE 1.2.0 patch 12. Can anyone please advise if Yosemite is in fact supported on 1.2.1 with patch 3??

OS X 10.10 is supported in ISE 1.2 p11, 1.2.1 p2 and 1.3.
Patch 12 for 1.2 and Patch 3 for 1.2.1 fix other issues for OS X 10.10, and I recommend updating to the latest patches for these fixes.
Here is the entry in the Release Notes detailing the fix for 10.10 in 1.2 p 12:
MacOsXAgent versrion 4.9.5.3 should be used and MacOsXSPWizard 1.0.0.30
Note that the description for these files denote ISE 1.2 Patch 11/12, ISE 1.3 release and above. ISE 1.2.1 is not mentioned, but follows the bug fix/release schedule for 1.2, with an adjustment.
