Support Mozilla Site Issue

While it may seem like a good idea to auto detect the OS/application/version (e.g., Mac/Firefox/9) and generate support content specific to the combination, there should be a option (link) on the page to look at other or all combinations.
I find it frustrating to have to use User Agent Switcher to get information for a different OS/application/version when helping folks on Mozillazine where I'm a moderator. Most of those needing help are on Win and I'm on a Mac so I initially get info for the Mac OS.

Thanks for helping users on Mozillazine, you rock! You should see a box on the right side of the page at the very bottom titled 'Article is for', so you can change to a different OS/browser version. It should stay on that version throughout your session. Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Your users agent is stuck at Firefox 3.5.5 due to a extension during when you had 3.5.5 and it tacked on ''FBSMTWB''' on end and kept it from updating the version number. This was due to the "Fast Browser Search toolbar" extension (FBSMTWB). This issue is not a problem with Firefox 4.0 and newer.

When I go to that link, download and then attempt to install I get the message "Webe encountered the following issues, Installer failed to initialize. Please down load Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem" I then select the link "get adobe support advisor" that takes me to a site that describes a better support link since the one I have been sent to is no longer available. I then go to that site and am told to go to CC for desktop apps, that requires me to download CC... I don't want CC.. just want to have my CS6 PS work again.... so frustrating...

I have my Time Capsule set up and can access it remotely, however, I cannot copy anything to the TC disk from my desktop.
Sorry but do you mean you cannot copy from local LAN to the TC, or from a remote location to the TC.
What OS is on the computer.. it is a common issue with Mavericks.. where the networking giants have gone back to tin cans and string.
I recommend a full reset of the TC to factory.
Change all naming to SMB type.. it is so important now with Mavericks which is SMB by default.
SMB uses names that are short.. <10characters is great.. keep it less than 20 max.
No spaces.
Pure alphanumeric.
ie when apple setup suggests a name like
Fred Blog's Airport Time Capsule.. it breaks every rule. It is over long.. has spaces and illegal character.
So change all names.. eg TCgen4 (replace number with actual Gen if you like.. or just name it TC).
Call wireless TCwifi (or TC24ghz and TC5ghz if you want separate naming for the bands).
Then in finder.. use Go, Connect to server.
Type in
AFP://TCname (where TCname is whatever you have now named your TC compliant with the rules above)
If that fails
AFP://TCname.local (Mavericks gets domain name issues.. it needs the domain and is local by default.)
or
AFP://TCIPaddress. eg AFP://10.0.1.1 which is router address by default.. only use if the ip is static.
The computer will hopefully discover the resource and now you can type in your password.. public by default.. or whatever you changed it to.
Now try copying files to the TC.

Cannot open google or mozilla sites in firefox ok in other browsers.

I am running Firefox 36 which runs normally except that I cannot open certain websites a few eg.s below:

First up... I don't think this is the appropriate place to discuss site-policy, but when I hit "contact us" link, there is no email-address, no link to an administrator... the most helpful link I found was "forums"... which contained some 300 forums which... based on past experience, prefer NOT to answer questions from other .mozilla subdomains. So here I am. Just to clarify... you might update your "contact us" page with a link to "file a ticket" or "leave a complaint"... I'm sure you don't want to deal with that... but neither doesn't a person with a valid complaint not want to have no clue as to where to file their "site-administrative" complaint. On the other hand, I could be mistaken, and HERE (not via email or such) is exactly the place you want these kinds of questions answered?
Secondly... as to policy I find that you should laxen your "this discussion is locked/archived" policy. for example, the closed article at - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/920556 - contained an inline image that was pertinent to the article at - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/959999?esab=a&as=aaq - and yet I couldn't insert such an image because both articles were locked.
So let's look at the principles of the thing:

A) Yet I myself was getting lost. Cause first I was directed to the first page, and when it was locked, I went to file a question, but then I was directed to a hypothetical answer, and that linked to the second page, which in fact was correct, but wasn't linked to by Google, nor did it have the attached image, and I was just about to move on when I realized it was in fact the correct article. So I was getting lost, because I had to surf a bunch of defunct articles/hoops before I reached a valid article.
I'm not saying you are wrong to desire relatively short articles, just that their is no continuity or connectedness of information. BOTH articles had pertinent information to the total solution of the problem, but their was no link (such as "related articles"), nor was their a way of merging info from both articles. Further, it would have been fruitless of me to attempt to start a new article on the topic, when that would just have further fragmented the coherency of the topic, and made finding a result via google harder.
As a propsed solution or two (probably not optimal), try inserting links to "related articles" on article-pages (and not just when you want to ask a question). Secondly, you could allow the submission of "append-to-archived-articles". You could limit these appendums to solutions (not questions) or links to further other articles even.
Hope you can take constructive criticism, and not forget that I am not demeaning all the great solutions this site and administrators have afforded many a confused firefox answer-seeker.

Regarding locked threads, they are auto-locked after 6 months. Due to frequent changes in Firefox, they tend to go out of date... also, we encourage users to post their own question and include their system information, since OS, Firefox version, and add-ons are so often relevant. But I think it would be a good idea to make it easier to refer to an old post if you know that one is highly relevant.
When you're researching solutions, the site generally tries to find Knowledge Base and Forum matches for your query. Once you pick one of those, it turns out to be pretty difficult to keep in mind enough context to suggest related articles that actually are relevant to the question. Or perhaps it's fruitless to try being relevant, because the reader may have developed a new idea about the nature of their question? Anyway, the site used to have links to related articles, and discovered that at least at this point, the software wasn't doing a very good job. Maybe you have some ideas for improvement that would make it possible to restore this feature?

Presentation variable is not supported in "SQL Issued"

hi, there is a presentation variable called @{ps_var} from a prompt
and I have written a custom sql and typed in "SQL Issued"

I found that the presentation variable is not supported in "SQL Issued" (exception flows when I clicked the "Set SQL" button.)
(in the captured screen, it is hardcoded as 'REPLACED_BY_PRESENTATION_VARIABLE', no error occurs when I clicked the "Set SQL" button. the result is correct.
however, when 'REPLACED_BY_PRESENTATION_VARIABLE' is replaced by @{ps_var}, exception flows when I clicked the "Set SQL" button.
is there an alternatives to avoid the error ? or any ways to assign the selected value from the prompt to this sql ?

Flash site issue

I have a problem with a flash site I inherited. When I click
the back button in Internet Explorer it takes me all the the way
back to the Flash intro and not the last page I was in. This

The Browser cannot differeniate between so called 'Pages'
within a Flash site. To the browser your site is one page, when you
navigate thru your flash site it does not report 'Page'
changes to the Browser. However if your navigation changed html
'Pages' then it would work forwards and backwards.
To overcome this problem you have to put in your own 'Back' /
'Next' navigation within the flash site, recording any significant
page/content change and then allowing the user to decide their
direction using your controls.

Firefox is updated to Australis but Mozilla sites say it still needs to be updated

Going to Help - About says Firefox is up to date. But whenever I open any Mozilla site, I am told to update Firefox. Any helpful hints?
By the way, I happen to love Australis. All my add-ons work fine, it is definitely faster and looks clean and lean. I use Classic Theme Restorer just to put the Status Bar/Add-on bar back on the bottom of the window. No problem, happy camper.

The SP3 is still unavaiable, but you can download the latest fixpack 2.7 in the service market place.
All the fixpack and servicepack under the same product version should under the same place in SMP.
