Suppress Empty Column Headers
My data form has 4 dimensions selected for a given column. My header for the column displays on a single line, but 3 empty headers appear underneath it before you get to the data portion of the form. Is there a way to suppress empty headers in a data form?

For rest of the 3 Dimensions without data you can use the options "Suppress Columns" option.
Open your Data Form and click on Actions-->Suppress Columns--> No Data and Zero. Now you can see only columns with data.

How to hide/suppress empty columns in pivot tables
In a pivot table, is there any way to do something like "suppress missing data" to make an entire column hidden only if it is empty? I have a situation where I can't hide an entire measure because the measure has values for another dimension, but I would like to hide the column that is empty. See the example below. I would like to hide the combination of Dim1 and Measure 2, and the combination of Dim 2 and Measure 3. I can't hide all columns with Dim1 and/or Dim2, or Measure2 and/or Measure3. Is there any way to hide just the column with the empty combination? Thanks.

That made a difference, but it still needs some work. The IfNull() function picked up every value in the columns that I wanted to hide and changed them to zero. The conditional formatting that you suggested hid the content in those columns from the HTML. However, there ended up being several issues:
1) IfNull() picked up other null values that happened to be in the resultset, so the conditional formatting was applied to more than intended. I could correct that by changing the data value in the physical database columns for the entire pivot table columns that I want hidden, but then I have to work around having bogus values in those intersections. Still, that is a possible workaround.
2) The column headers for the columns that I want to disappear did not go away. When I applied CSS display:none, it shifts the pivot table cells to the left, so a lot of the data ends up under the wrong column headings.
3) CSS display:none only hides the content from screen readers. When I view the pivot table on the dashboard and print it to a PDF, the data in the columns that I want to disappear are back.
That still seems like it's a long ways from "suppress missing data" for the entire column. Thanks for your suggestion.

Suppressing empty nodes in ALV tree grid
Hi, I'm writing an ALV tree report with financial data broken down by cost element hierarchy. We've determined that the maximum number of levels in our hierarchy is seven so have to build the program to accept seven node levels. Most times when it runs it will find fewer than seven nodes. Is there an easy to to suppress empty columns in the report so that the end user does not not see a bunch of empty nodes in the report?

I want to create a JTable so that the table doesn't have any column headers. Right now I am using my own implementation of the AbstractTableModel Class for use with the tables, but if I leave out the public String getColumnName(int col) method, it makes the headers A, B, C, ... and if I set the column headers up with a blank String, it leaves an obvious thin empty header at the top. Any suggestions on how I can completely leave the column headers off?

Suppress empty legend/group in pie graph
Hi,
I've created a pie graph using BAM datacontrol.
In the pie graph, the legend area shows an extra empty group.
For eg. in the pie graph if there are 3 slices : High,Medium & Low, then in the legend area 4 legends will be displayed; 3 legends corresponds to the 3 respective groups but an additional legend shows up.
How can we hide/suppress the empty legend/group.
In BAM dashboard we have an option 'Suppress Empty Group' but I didn't found any similar property in the pie dvt component.
I'm using JDev 11.1.1.4.0the values from our column are from database , then how can we edit the data(values) in that columnErrr..Ohkk. There are 3 methods you can do this:
1) Correct the spelling in underlying DB table by updating the column name (check all the references) - Most Recommended
2) In case you don't want to go for 1st option, you can remove the default legend option in Pie Chart by setting it to none and ADD a new Legend View to this Chart View with correct names
3) Change the fx of that column in criteria like

When you work with the grid you just have to drag it into your srf and bind it with some table by specifying the table name in its properties.
When the form launches the columns of the grid will be created automatically as per the number of columns in the table.The caption of the column in the grid will be the same as that of the name of the column in the table.The only condition for this is that the table should contain some records, if the table is empty no grid lines and the column header will be displayed .

Trouble viewing column headers JTable
I am having trouble with the column headers showing up. I have added a JScrollPane to the JTable, yet it fails to show up

A JTable always represents the values provided by a TableModel.
The JTable constructor that directly takes the heading and data is just a convenience constructor which creates a DefaultTableModel and populates it using the supplied arguments.
You code extract creates two JTable object. The first one (the one with the data and headings) is lost for good after you reassign the variable table to the second JTavble instance. And this second instance is created with an empty DefaultTableModel.
What you want is probably to create one single JTAble object, using a model created as:

The above code executes well with no problem at all!
As you can see the file to which i create and save and open my pdf report is
AssignedDialyzer.pdf.
The column headers of table in pdf report from c# windows forms using iTextSharp are
"Reprocessing Date","Patient Name","Dialyzer(Manufacturer,Size)","No.of Reuse","Verification" and
"DialyzerID".
However the problem i am facing is after execution and opening of document is my
column headers in table in pdf report from
c# and datas in it all appear in bold.
I have browsed through net regarding to solve this problem but with no success.

Unable to turn column headers bold in Word table using VB Script
I have created a table in Microsoft Word 2010 using VB Script (this is via the script engine that forms part of HP Quality Centre functionality). The table itself is OK, 2 columns with centred headers. However, I am unable to make the column

I haved noticed that you used objTable.AutoFormat to format the table. Based on my understanding, this fuction will applie a predefined look to a table.
After I move the code which bolder the text behind this line of code, it works well for me.

Hints on Interactive Report's column headers
Hi,
I've used +"< spa.n title = "Hint" > Header < / span>"+ (the first 'spa.n' is so it doesn't interpret as code) to put hints on my report columns headers but found that, when using interactive report's tools, the column names that appear obviously include the "code".
Is there any way to put hints on interactive report columns and still maintain the proper title(in this case Header) when using the tools?

Thank you for the tip Ghoulies. The spaces I put trying to make it read as text. The code works fine, it actually shows the Header in the report's column and the hint appears on mouse-over.
What I mean is, when using interactive report's tools, such as "Select Columns", The <span title="hint">header</span> {code} appears as the column name in the +display / not display+ boxes.
Is there any other way to put hints on Interactive reports so that this doesn't happen?

OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as
OBIEE Report Export from Dashboard to Excel doesn't suppress the columns as expected even after the properties are set to Suppress in the report. In Dashboard it is suppressed Properly but in the excel export it is not suppressed and values for the columns are repeated.

Can someone offer assistance on how I can go about achieving the ability to show and print the Report Column headers on each page of any report using the Print Attributes of APEX 3.0? These reports will be printed using Excel and Word.
I read a thread with a similar request but the answer seems vague for my level of understanding.
I am connected to a print server and using BI Publisher.

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do. You are using a very powerful tool – BI Publisher – why do you need Excel or Word for printing? Is there a special need only Excel or Word can provide?
One of the major advantages of using BI Publisher is that it's taking care of all these tedious tasks like reasonable page breaking, headers and footers, and also table headers.
