Supress "#" in Reporting

Hi Guru's,
I am trying to build a query on 0BWTC_C05 , But when I am running the query I am getting "#", How to supress this ? and Why do I get this ? I can see "#" in the values from Global View of query. Please respond.

and if u r getting # for kfs,then u can change settings in RSCUSTV4 transaction.
i believe here u r getting '#' for characteristic values.

Need to supress main report based on shared value comes from subreport

Hi,
I have a database that is used in both main report and subreport. On main report I have column a,b ,c, d,e,f to display in detail section, the subreport (column c, g,h etc) is also displayed on detail section, the link between main report and subreport is column a,b and a formula based on the value of c. So the link is within one database, some records link with other records and display both matching records on one line(especially column c shows one value in main report and another value in subreport). That's why I need subreport and I can display the report correctly.
Here is my question: if one record in main report couldn't find a match in subreport (subreport is blank), then I would like to show this record; if one record in main report does find a match in subreport, I don't want it to show(need to be supressed). I can define a shared variable to flag whether the subreport is blank or not, but this shared variable has to be placed under the section of subreport in main report and I don't know how to supress the upper detail section with subreport in it.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hi
In this case you need to insert the same sub report twise.
Example :
Detail a--Insert the sub report and go in sub report suppress all sections and using shared variables bring the value to main report.
Detail b -- based on detail a sub report suppress the main report records
Detail c-- Your actual sub report will display the values.
Note : use the same links for your detail 'a' sub report which you are using for detail 'c' sub report.

Supressing subsequent Report Titles/Header info

I've created a title for my reports. The results span a few pages now but probably dozens later on. I want the report header/title to appear on the first page but not on subsequent pages. Column headings are fine but not the title of the report on each and every page. Is there an option or a way to do this on the desktop version and the web version?

According to your description, there is main report and subreport in it, when the subreport spans across multiple pages, you want to show column headers on each page. If that is the case, we can set column headers visible while scrolling in main report.
For detail information, please refer to the following steps:
In design mode, click the small drop down arrow next to Column Groups and select Advanced Mode.
Go to your Row Groups pane, click on the first static member.
In properties grid, set FixData to True.
Set RepeatOnNextPage to True.

Reports ...Calculations & Supression not working

Hello, I have one report in which I have to subtract 2 columns (say A& B) and show the value in column(say C). I want to supress allthe rows for which there are negative values in column C ... Thisis not working for me. Then I need to calculate the percentage of C compared to A . Nowthere might be ZERO or MISSING Values in column A and the divisionby these gives error. Is there anything I can do to replace thesevalues so that division does not gives errors. I have tried to use conditional supression but it does not worksfor me. I have only few rows in the report which expand ( I amusing lists for different levels) and I need to supress these rowsfor missing data. But when I remove the basic supression and addthe conditional in additional supression, the report just stopsworking and stays in a loop for a long time. Any suggestions....? clegcleg, That's a good suggestion . I tried it but this is not workingfor me. As far as I understand , formatting (conditional or normal) isapplied on the report after all the data retrival and calculationsare done. So If I replace the values using conditional formatting,they are not considered in the calculation and the division by ZEROor MISSING values would still show error on my report. About condtional supression, I had basic supression (on missingvalues) on the row. Now when I change the supression to supressrows if A>B or for "NO DATA" in current row, thereport just takes forever. With basic supression , the report isgenerated in 5 secs and with conditional supression for NO DATA ,the report ran for like 5 minutes and I had to cancel ifeventually. Any more tips & tricks please??

ALV report - Print issues

When trying to print an ALV report (Ctrl+P), printer has issues due to the shading (backgound colors) of the report.
So here is my question,
Is there a way to supress the report formatting while printing?
or
Can you convert an ALV into an unfomatted basic report?

In the output screen
GOTO LIST IN THE MENU
SELECT EXPORT IN IT
THEN SELECT EXPORT SPREAD SHEET
to get other basic format for the alv output.

How to suppress the report based on outer dimension in nested report

Hi Experts,
We have a report with nesting of two dimensions in rows. They are Program dimension and Account Dimension.
We need to supress the report based on the program dimension members. i.e whenever there are no values against all the accounts for a particular program that particular program should get supressed.
In the screenshot attached I am looking to supress the rows 37,38 and 39 as the data against this program is empty.
However I dont want to supress the rows 31 and 33 as there is a capital data against this program in row number 32. So we have to supress the rows based on absence of data at program level.
We are using SP14 on BPC 10.
I remember that such functionality could be acheived in BPC 7.5 by flagging the required dimension to have suppress in Expansion Range. So I guess, similar functionality would be there in BPC 10 as well.
I have evaluated the option of VBA macro to hide the required rows, but was wondering if we can achieve the same using EPM functionality as we used to do in BPC7.5.

Hi Shiva,
First you have to check the option Keep Blocks:
This option will show the whole block even if only one line contain some not zero/empty cells in the row.
Second, when you select option Filter on All Columns/Rows you have to select OR as operator between columns:
In this case the test for >0 (or for <0) will be applied to each column and the result will be OR'ed with other columns. True will be even if one column contains not zero and not empty cell.
You logic to check individual column require to hardcode the members - not good!

P.S. If you select AND for Filter on All Columns/Rows - then only lines with all cells with non zero / non empty will be shown as in your example!

Return most recent matching record on Sub Report

I am hoping there is an easier way to go about this.
REPORT 'A': I have already made a report (which will inevitably be a subreport) that only reports the first record of each Group2 (I used a counter formula and conditional suppress.) This enabled me to have a report full of only the most recent records.
As an example, let's say this first report contains Account#, Price, and Invoice Date (again, it only reports the most recent Invoice Date and corresponding price and account # - the other records for each account are supressed).
REPORT 'B': I have another report with Account Numbers and Category Numbers.
I want to Match the Account Numbers, lookup the numbers on the original report ('A'), and return the recent Prices and Invoice Dates to the 2nd report ('B'). So that Report B has Account#, Category#, Most Recent Price, & Most Recent Invoice Date.
A subreport has been my only idea because again, I only want the most recent prices from 'A' to report on 'B'. Any help is appreciated.

If Report B is the main report then I would suggest grouping on the same field as you used in Report A for Group 1. Place the subreport, Report A, in the GH1 and link it based on the Group 1 field. The subreport will then only display data for the same group instance.
If you need to use the most recent data or price in Report B then assign those values to shared variables in the subreport and reference them in formulas in the main report in a section below where the subreport resides, GH1.

Does anyone know how to correctly supress the report prompting when printing directly to a printer?
I can see the correct paramaters being passed, but I still get prompted for paramaters after selecting the printer. (My code below)

Oracle 11g is not tested with Crystal Reports XI R2 (See Platforms.txt). That said it should probably work.
What version of the Oracle client is installed on your application system? It should also be Oracle 11g.
What error are you getting?
Are you using the "Microsoft OLEDB provider for Oracle" or the "Oracle Provider for OLEDB"?
Have you tested the connection to Oracle 11g in the Crystal Reports designer?
If you save a copy of your report and change the connection to Oracle Native or ODBC to Oracle, does it work? That will eliminate the crdb_ado.dll driver from the picture.

I have been having a similar problem in a few reports. From what I can tell the problem is caused by a combination of dynamically supressing blank report sections based on lack of data and having "page n of m" in the page footer. It seems like the report designer can't figure out the page count on preview and crystal dies. I took the page n of m out of the report and the behavior seems to have stopped.
When I schedule the report to run in crystal enterprise and then view the report using the DHTML viewer, I do not have any problems. My solution for now is to take out the page n of m from the footer until the report is published to production.
Anyone else have any thoughts?

Supress Vendor name in std report S_ALR_87012103 - Vendors: Items

net due date is used as replacement path variable to calculate other formulae.
if i take out net due date from rows my formulae are not working.
i tried SUPRESS RESULT in CALCULATE SINGLE VALUES AS..its giving only result BUT in place of single values its giving me blank fields..i dont want those blank fields..:-(

Supress Group Header in Report when Subreport is blank

well the title says it all.
I want to supress the main report group header when the subreport (is in details) is blank.
I'm stuck on this:
I'v created a shared variable in both report and subreport and it gives me the number I want but not where I wanted to appear. If I put the variable on the group footer it shows me the correct value but if I put it in the group header it shows me the previous group footer result.
This is what I got:

Right click on the section you want to supress and check on the box labelled Suppress blank section.

i need to supress the POP-UP which asks for background Print Parameters in the ALV report. when i press F9 in a selection - screen of a Tcode
as we supress Pop-up for a smartform or script by passing the Print Parameters
This 'RS_SET_SELSCREEN_STATUS' excludes the commands(say F9 function code) in report
I think we need to set the Print paramters in the Program
