removed ability to set transform offsets as a matrix
TransformOffsets are applied as r/s/t deltas, not as a matrix, so it doesn't make sense to allow developers to set matrix values directly.
Also renamed matrix/matrix3D on UIC and GraphicElement to layoutMatrix/layoutMatrix3D, as these are more appropriate names, and removing them from transformOffsets gives us more freedom in their naming.

Hi! I would like to know if there is any possibility to remove the option "Set as default background..." from the right-click menu on a picture, for all users. I know that's possible to edit userContent.css or userChrome.css, but this concerns only a profile at a time and being in a domain, I would like to set this for all people using Firefox.
Can it be possible to edit a mozilla.cfg file to get the same result?

AFAIK then there is no way to do that system wide. You can only do that via userChrome.css or an extension like the Menu Editor per profile .You can install extensions globally, but the user will have to enable them anyway. That is not required for userChrome.css code.

How can I temporarily remove a RAID set but keep the data?

I recently had to restore my Netgear ReadyNAS to factory settings, which meant that I needed to make a backup of its data and restore it afterwards. The only possible way to back up the 8.5Tb of data was to get 9Tb of WD Red disks and somehow use them - so my immediate thought was that the Mac Pro would be a good idea. I t had four drives in it, but three of them were not being used by the OS so they could be temporarily removed.
So I replaced three of my four Mac Pro drives with new 3Tb drives and used Disk Utility to set them up as a JBOD. I then used this JBOD drive to back up the NAS and restore it again after I had re-installed its O/S (the whole thing took two weeks!!!).
So now I'm in the following situation:
* I want to tear down the JBOD set and take the three new drives out of the Mac Pro again and replace them with the drives I normally use there so that I can go back to making music (which is what I usually use it for).
* I also want to be able to put the new drives back in and read the data as a JBOD again if needed (in case anything is discovered to be amiss with my ReadyNAS backup/restore operation) - let's say for the next month I'll plan to keep the old drives around for safety.
How can I remove the JBOD set in such a way that I can set it up again using the same drives, and access the data (i.e. I don't want to delete the RAID set the usual way because that will delete the data too - apparently...)?

Going to ask the mods to move this to MacPro, Hatter can answer your question, but I'm pretty sure if you power down and remove the RAID drives, you can put them in back again and boot up and the RAID will still be recognized as the info is stored on the drives themselves in the GUID/MBR of each drive in the set.
Also you should know, there is a new MacPro coming and it doesn't accept internal drives, only external.
So you should prepare and have some sort of external hardware redundancy for your data that isn't dependent on the Mac HFS+ formatting as Windows doesn't read that.
Perhaps exFAT would be better as both platforms can read/write that, but if the drives are going to be used with a PC ever, they need to be formatted by Windows for exFAT to get it right. Check first before you commit to copying huge data over.
Anyway research it, because if your MacPro dies, you might be up the creek and have some issues getting at all that data since it's in a RAID, external options might not work correctly or reliably for RAID.
Also consider talking to the fellows at MacGuru's, they are external RAID box setup experts for Mac's, sounds like you need a RAID 5 box, gives redundancy and can connect to any computer.
Hardware RAID is more reliable than software ones, cross platform as well.

I have issue with removing the patch set software 9.2.0.8
I'm working on solaris box recently ugraded to 9.2.0.8 from 9.2.0.7. however i want to downgrade now. I have followed the document 4547809 mentioned. Now the real issue is when i restored the oracle_home (9.2.0.7) and execute sqlplus /nolog here is error message shown

Ability to set White Bal and Tone by "dabbing" on a related point in a reference photo

It would be helpful to have the ability to set White Bal and Tone by "dabbing" on a related point in a reference photo. In other words, to dab on specific point (with the dabber tool) within a reference photo; then dab on the related point in other photos in order to adjust their WB and Tone to match that of the reference photo.
I ran into this need recently. I had a series of pictures where the wall behind my subject was the same (as well as the light hitting it). Yet, I was shooting in Auto WB and Auto Exposure (as I usually do - and maybe should not) and as such many of the images looked different. In this case it would have been helpful to have the wall serve as a reference to which I could match all the images. Indeed I ended up using the wall as a visual reference anyway and adjusted the WB and Tone manually with the sliders.
In some cases, I could use Sync, but it's been my experience that Sync does not always render the same look to all the photos. Perhaps this dabbing tool would offer more control.

Select the images. Hit W to go to White balance in Develop. Click the one with the reference WB in filmstrip. Click to set WB. Hit the Sync button. Select WB.
Or. Pick your image with the WB (the wall in your example). Right click and 'Copy Settings'. Click only the White Balance. Then select the other images and 'Paste Settings'.

"Don't allow sites that set removed cookies to set future cookies"

I'm having a problem shopping and/or logging onto esteelauder.com (a site I have shopped from for years). Their tech folks indicated the problem appears to be with cookies and I should make sure that "Don't allow sites that set removed cookies to set future cookies" is not marked. I cannot find this in FF 3.6.15. I have removed all cookies related to this web site, but the problem still exists. I went to another computer to make sure it was not the web site, and was able to add items to the cart and log on with no problem. I am using a PC with Windows 7. This problem has just shown up in the last couple of weeks and so far only appears to be on this web site.

* You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
* Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
* In [[Private Browsing]] mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
* Do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and password exceptions.

If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete cookies.sqlite-journal and cookies.txt, if they exist, in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Profile Folder] in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Setting the offset of a textfield...

Hi all!
How do I set the offset of a textfield (so that the text always starts from left no matter if all text will not fit into it)?
At the moment I can only see the end of the text if it is to large.

You would have to do that everytime when the textfield (which might be disabled) receives data from the server.
There must be a property that you only need to set once.

Web service: Cannot remove WSS security setting

Hi,
i have a problem about developing web service with jdeveloper 10.1.3.1
The problem is that ---> once i have add the security to the web service
(through the web service wizard .. i,e, right click the web service and
select "Secure Web Service'), i CANNOT REMOVE the security setting using
the web service wizard...
call the web service always say missing wsse:Security SOAP header..
do anybody have the solution?

Hi,
the issue is still there in 10.1.3.3, and it must be somewhere on JDeveloper or OC4J side. Moreover, it's not limited to removing security settings, as the situation (old settings remembered) is the same when editing security settings.
lsp,
before regenerating a web service and its xml files (editing security properties), make sure you have cleaned the project and then you can try deleting the oracle-webservices.xml file from your project directory, because JDeveloper does not seem to be willing to overwrite it during regeneration.
If this does not help and you are using embedded OC4J, you can try the following steps before running the web service again:
- delete the embedded-oc4j/application-deployments/current-workspace-app directory, because it contains an oracle-webservices.xml file which may be outdated,
- empty the contents of embedded-oc4j/config/wsmgmt.xml, because it contains security settings for web services you have deployed so far, which also may be outdated,
- restart JDeveloper :)
Note that these are just guesses to solve the problem. Unfortunately doing all of these did not solve it for me.
So if anybody has some more ideas, we'll be happy to hear them.

Recent upgrade removed my ability to set aspect ratio with LG TV remote

With the upgrade a few days ago, I lost the ability to "Zoom" the aspect ratio on 4:3 programming so that it fills the screen, using the LG TV remote. I don't want to stretch it; I want to zoom it, and I don't care that I lose the top and bottom of the picture. I could do this before; how do I get it back? I have the FIOS settings on 1080 HD, and have the "stretch" turned off. I have an LG plasma.

Fix to transform effects to ignore projection on 2D effects. The prior implementation meant that even 2D effects, like Move, would cause us to set the projection information on a target object's container, even though we were not changing 3D values.
The fix is to set the default values of the projection properties to false in AnimateTransformInstance. That way, any 3D effect (AnimateTransform3D or its subclasses) would cuase the properties to be set according to the 3D defaults (or values that the developer set them to), whereas any 2D effect would leave the values false, which would result in our ignoring the projection matrix for that effect.
QE notes: Breaks several AnimateTransform tests in Mustella, but new behavior is correct and tests should be updated (they have been excluded for now)

But I haven't got license, and also I am not able to find Flash Builder Plugins from HFCD site....

SCCM 2012 R2 - Remove ability to modify folders and retain create collection

I am working through Role Based administration permissions and running into some hold ups. I am currently
attempting to segregate access for "Edge Administrators" in a way that they can only manage their own items. essentially i would be setting up a lower level administrator role which has the ability to manage all functions excluding infrastructure
items. I have pretty well configured it exactly as i need however i am not able to remove the ability to create and modify folders within the tree. In most cases this would not be a big deal but i am trying to remove all possibility for these "Edge
Administrators" to modify anything outside of their assigned scopes and collections.
Has anyone had success with setting this sort of thing up? i can remove the ability to manage folders however
this removes the ability for the admins to create collections. any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Folders are not subject to RBA so there's no way to prevent that IIRC.

I thought I would post in here because I find I'm wanting this feature more and more over the past year.
This can apply to most of Adobes application but it would be great to see some file management functionality built into the applications themselves. This could then be further expanded in Bridge/Cue to incorporate more applications into the working project but at the very least the application itself the ability to control its own root existence.
On so many occasions I require Illustrators file linking feature to be relative and NOT absolute which it currently is. The only relative capability it has is if ALL the linked assets are in the same local directory as the AI file itself and this as everyone knows breaks the first rule of proper file management.
Many of the projects I work on uses many AI files with sometimes over 50 linked in assets in a variety of different formats from a variety of different clients (locations). I cannot easily move this project folder around without the painful task of linking all the data again and this creates a massive issue.
Ideally an approach similar to Autodesks Maya and Max where you can set project directories. This means all the Save As and other operations will default to that working directory for that file. All linked data will then use the projects working directory as its root and allow the project to move from location to location and not be affected.
This would Im sure benefit many other designers who work on projects with large amounts of data that may not live always in the same spot. For us we work with so many different people during a production that mobility is a must and at the moment we are finding it very difficult.

Physical device of what, and what output am I suppose to get: Nothing, a list with output on where the symlinks lead, something else... In my case I got no output, if that is right, I do not know - since I do not understand what the command do.

DEVNAME: Sets the name of the device. Try:
sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon-device/device/name
Does it meen like this - If I during my pwmconfig used hwmon1 wich was coretemp, and hwmon2 wich was nct6775, I should do:
sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon1-device/device/name coretemp
sed -e 's/[[:space:]=]/_/g' /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon2-device/device/name nct6775
And that will direct every occurrence of hwmon1 and hwmon2 to the correct sensor chip?

How do I remove a documentation set from Xcode?

I have documentation sets for Apple iPhone OS 2.0 and Apple iPhone OS 2.1. Each of these sets has iPhone OS Library and for the most part they are they same. Since I've decided to focus on targeting 2.1, is there any way I can remove the 2.0 documentation completely?
I can't find a way to do it from the documentation interface and in the Preferences, I can uncheck the documentation, but not delete it. However, unchecking it has no effect and when I restart Xcode, they are all checked again.
I am afraid to start deleting files from /Developer without knowing what I'm doing. I am also trying to avoid uninstalling and reinstalling everything.

I did try deleting
/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/Documentation/DocSets/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleiPhone2_0.iPhoneLibrary
but that didn't seem to remove it from Xcode. Then I found
/Library/Developer/Shared/Documentation/DocSets/com.apple.adc.documentation.AppleiPhone2_0.iPhoneLibrary
The interesting thing is that the 2.0 documentation was "shared" here but not the 2.1 docs.
Removing the latter in the shared folders made it disappear from Xcode; removing the former had no effect. However its parent "folder" didn't disappear, but changed title slightly.

I'm now trying to figure out how to completelly remove that *Apple iPhone OS* heading as it contains nothing.
