SWDD abends when dragging a step type into existing template

Hello,
The following steps cause an abend. Has anyone seen this and found a fix?
- Start transaction SWWD
- drag a new step type into an existing workflow template
- at the cursor a plus sign displays
- upon releasing the mouse button the program abends
I created an incident report in OSS. While awaiting their response I thought I would ask the community.
The abend listing is included in an attachment.

Solution: Note 1783103 - Short dump or system hanging during drag and drop in the workflow builder - Same abend message and steps. This note asks to Apply note 1769371 to solve the issue. Please note that the correction comes with SAP GUI 7.30 patch 2 ... Ronen Weisz is correct in saying that the SAP GUI is the culprit here ;-)

I'm inserting a step type into the MyTypes.ini file with c++.
With the code below I managed to put it into a menu (in the step type menu editor it is called "Group").
But I want a sub menu.
How can I put it into a sub menu (in c++)?

There is no API method to edit those groups. I can only suggest to use the Step Type Menu Editor to create the group you want and make it a submenu. Then when you call stepObj->PutMenuGroupName("SubMenuGroup") the step type will be in that submenu.

Trouble keeping photo size when dragging and dropping photo into new document on elements 12

When trying to place an image into a new document in photoshop elements 12, I select all-copy-paste the image (or even drag it) over to the new doc created. However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6. Any help would be much appreciated.

Whenever you combine two images, the resolution (ppi) of the bottom image is the resolution for everything. So if you take an image that is, say, 72 ppi, and paste that into an image at 300 ppi, the pasted object will shrink a lot. If you paste a high-res image into a low res image, the pasted object will enlarge a lot. The best way to get consistent results is to make sure that both images are at the same resolution (image>resize>image size) before you start.

Why when I drag photo from bridge into existing document, it opens with an X through it? Most of my functions are then grayed out. Thanks for any help.

It is opening as a smart object. Simply right click on the image in the layers panel and "Rasterize Layer" when you are finished placing and sizing the new image.

Why does Firefox send me back a few pages when I attempt to type into a text box???

I am sick and tired of this insane bug. It affects me on a daily basis. 20% of the time I attempt to type anything into any text box, for every keypress, Firefox will treat them as requests to 'go back' and it launches me several pages backwards through my browsing history in the tab. I then I have to skip forward and attempt filling it in again. It usually works after 1-2 attempts but like i said this is happening 20% of the time on text input forms, especially FARK.com.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

When I try to type into google, why does box turn blue and not show typed letters?

When I try to enter something into the search box on google, the box turns blue and it does not show what I am typing. It goes to whatever pops up for the first letter typed, then the second letter but never shows what i actually typed. This just started happening with firefox.

Older versions of Pages allowed you to drag and drop contact information to a document or template, Can this still be done in newer versions? If so, how?

Answered - Workflow editor, left pane, container elements & step type hidden

Hello,
How do I restore the workflow container & step types to the left pane of the workflow editor? Looking at the attached screen print, you can see that they are missing. Obviously, if can't see step types, I can't drag a step type into the editor pane.
We are on Basis version 702, patch 11.

Clicking on the thin yellow line at the bottom of the "Navigation area" displayed a drop down list, from which the different options can be selected.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. There's a lot of stuff here. I'm watching the video and we'll try and see if I can reproduce any obvious bugs. For the other things I'll log and review against other customer feedback to see what changed make the most sense. The more people that give us feedback the easier it is to know what to work on next. How to preserve size when dragging image into another image?

When dragging a 5x4in photo into a blank 11x8.5in image, the 5x4 is shrunk more than 50 percent. Any fix for this?

How do I modify custom step type that is part of a sequence?

I have an example sequence that has a custom step type called "LabView Reentrant Action". My interest is to modify this step type to my needs. Because this custom step type is part of the sequence there is no definition in global type palette. I was told that I could copy this step into global type palette. But, I don't think I could.
I can copy the step from the sequence space but I do not have an option to paste it in the palette.
In sequence space I have options to choose LabView Reentrant Dialog Steps under Insert Step pull-down menu. When I open Step Type Menu Editor in the palette space, all types are listed except LabView Reentrant Dialog Steps. I think these are not showing in the palette because they are custom types built into the sequence.
How can I extract the custom step type into global palette so that I could modify to my needs?

If you already have the customer step type "LabView Reentrant Action" then to modify it all you need is to go in "Type Palette" (Ctrl-T) and make modifications in the step type.
In case you are not able to see the step type in type palette then you need to add the step type in a custom ini file. You can add that ini file by clicking on customize in "Palettes" drop down menu. The you can copy paste a step in the step type and make modifications to the step.

I try to build a step type . this step type specifies an adapter of DLL, which is developed under CVI. I want to use Teststand API functions in CVI to fulfill the following functions.

I am looking at exporting and importing of the custome step types similar to templates.

Anna,
when creating the step type definition, you have picked a location for it. By default, it is "MyTypes.ini".
You can create your own custom ini-file containing your specific step types in the type editor.
When distributing your step types, you have to pass the ini-file containing the type definition(s) AND all sources connected to that types (substep modules).
On the target machine, you have to include that ini-file in the system for type definitions in the type editor.

Embedding a report designer query into a template - errors out

In a template i want to include the report designer query, with the web item type - report, when i drag the report item into the template and try to edit it, it takes me to the report designer, there I'm able to open my report designer query - then when i go to - menu - transfer to web apllication designer - it takes me back to WAD but errors out saying it encountered a problem. Did anyone come across this issue? And how did you overcoem this? Any help or pointer would be appreciated and rewarded.

Opening into a template

I am new to photoshop and this is probably a simple question but I can't figure what to search for in the help files. I have made two sides of a business card with multiple layers in photoshop, when I turned them into .jpg files and opened them in the template in Word it was not lining up right and I can't get it to fit how I want it to.
I found a template for photoshop and I am hoping it will keep my sizes right, but I can't figure out how to open my premade card in the template window and I need to have it done tomorrow.
Would you please help me?

I don't know which Photoshop template you have, but normally you would need to drag your own image into the template file with the Move tool.
If it's the wrong size when it's there, adjust by pressing Ctrl+T.
To make things easier, turn off Tabbed windows, or switch to Float All in Windows, using the arrange Documents drop-down in the top bar of the Photoshop window.
