SWF project now must be on DVD but is distorted

Hi -
I made this animation with the end result in mind that it would only be shown via the web/swf/flv - 480x360. It looks great.
Now I'm being asked to put it on a DVD so it can be played on a DVD player on TV but it's all whacked out.
I know this is a common problem but I don't know the solution. Is there a setting in AE7-Mac that will handle this conversion??

Well, SWF is full head-on RGB and does not contain color profiles or Gamma corrections (it's all done by Flash Player) and without any special prerequisites, conversions may shift colors. Therefore, when rendering from AE, you may be able to improve matters by force-assigning color profiles to your source and to the resulting output. There will always be minor differences, though, due to how Flash works. the slight "softness" is normal - rasterization and filtering in AE are different from Flash's own antialiasing, but in general you will want that to avoid extensive flickering. Just make sure to use continuous rasterization throughout the whole chain. As for your other concerns - there is no perfect way. If you had CS4, you'd export an image sequence from Flash base on the original FLA project or by letting Flash play the SWF on its stage. that's the only way to control everything. If you are regularly doing such things, this would be one good reason to upgrade, even more so, as it's the only way to figure in script-driven content and complex nested Flash symbols.

The HD must be partitioned with GUID partition map and Mac OS extended (journalled) file system. Do not partition the drive into two. When you have a working OS X system, use Boot Camp to create the Windows partition and install Windows.
If you're trying to install Snow Leopard on a Mac that was delivered with Lion installed =
1. It may not be possible at all depending on the Mac.
2. If it is possible, it cannot be done with the retail SL disc which is 10.6.3
3. The only way it can be done is to obtain the original grey discs which would have come with the Mac if it hadn't had Lion installed in the supply chain. They will be at least 10.6.6 and more likely 10.6.7 or .8. You can try to obtain those from Apple Customer Services.

I recently got new mac air and transferred my old version garageband projects now when I open them in 10.0.2 I can add new tracks but then nothing can record, shows its receiving sound from software inst. but no sound. I checked audio preferences and

I checked audio preferences and they are set as they should be. I tried it in all the other older projects and same issue anyone have any experience like this very frustrating. Can one download old version still ? or can you run both versions on OS10.9.5 ?

Here's something I found out in the meantime, maybe this is interesting for somebody or maybe - problem's not totally solved - enough info for any of you to give me further advice.
When I start Logic Core Audio driver de-activated, I can open old songs. Then I save them in a new folder with all audio files and a new name. And I remove all EXS24 instruments as well as the Space Designer. I quit Logic, re-open with Core Audio activated and I can open the song.
Problem no.1: EXS24 instruments don't find the appropriate samples, but EXSMananger Pro did help me with this. Same problem with Space Designer, which doesn't find the impulse responses, connected to a certain preset.
Two questions, every idea would be great!
- Is there any way to teach Space Designer Presets where to look for impulse respones. I can load IR samples directly and create a new preset, but I can't use my old ones.
- Is it possible to install Logic from scratch over an existing version? Or how should I de-install everything connected with Logic and then install a fresh version from CD?

Yes, the lowest possible Burn speed will be a step in the direction of compatibility.
As for the Quality setting, Robert Johnson has done tests on various versions of PE and has recommend a setting of about 7.8 (IIRC). Unlike Encore, where one has many more choices, PE limits one to a Quality setting of 8. This is about equivilent to the recommend 7MB/s in Encore. Robert found that just below the 8 max. actually yielded slightly better results, than did the full 8, on his tests.
The three things that help to insure the greatest compatibility with set-top players are, and in pretty much this order:
1.) Quality media - Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden or Falcon (US only)
2.) Burn speed (slower is better. It might take a few minutes more, but if it works, you don't have returns or have to do it again.)
3.) Bit-rate around 7MB/sec
Remember - no set-top player HAS to play any Burned DVD. Most do, but some just do not - only replicated, pressed discs. Also, some player are still sensitive to the -R and +R media types. This is less a problem with newer units, however it still could be an issue with many older ones.
Personally, I test a "master" on four different players, plus my computer, before I Burn a batch, or ship out any. One unit is a very high-end Marantz, another is a mid-level Marantz, one is an RCA "el cheapo" and the other is an older Pioneer. I figure if the disc plays everywhere, there is a good chance that it will play for the client - though there are still no guarantees.

Yes, we are talking about FCP X...this is the thing:
I worked on a project a few days ago and went to share - export movie.
Today, i opened the FCP again, to make some changes, and when i enter to the project, it shows me as one big clip.....i dont see it says compound clip....and i tried anyways pressing break appart clips...but nothing....could it be that i made it compound before exporting it..? if so how can i recover the un-compound version >?
I tried to import the saved .mov file, but it opens the same....as one long clip...

It's a complex project and there are a lot of possibilities. Among them is the length; there are a number of reports of projects that are approaching 2 hours failing to burn.
If it's a question of jarring Create Disk into action, one thing that has worked for some users is simply to click on and the Apply button (s) in the Settings pane of the Blu Ray Share window and then hitting Cancel. This can be tested by duplicating your project and selecting a tiny section of your sequence and exporting. Change the Output Device to Hard Drive and see whether Create Disk successfully writes a disk image.
You can also check that a specific clip isn't rendering properly. Since the process got to 59%, it may just mean that the burn couldn't be initiated by Create Disk – or it may indicate a problem with a clip toward end of your sequence. (If you can check the log, there may be something useful in there.)
Use the duplicated project and this time set a range for the last 30 minutes or so of the project and export it, using the Blu Ray destination. Again, set Output Device to HD and see whether it will complete.

I am Burning my edited project on DVD but after specific time Audio got mute

I am burning DVD using share option in FCP X total duration of my film is 2 hours 25 min. But after 1 Hour 25 min Audio got mute, I have twice try to burn same film on DVD but it got mute on same duration. I have also try my second film to burn on DVD which Duration is 2 Hours 7 min but it got mute after 25 min. I dont know what to do Please help, I want my final output on DVD.
I also have DVD studio Pro please help me if there is any option.
I am Using Mac Pro Prosessor 3.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon and Memory 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3

I would first export to dvd, but chosing the hard drive as a destination. This stores a disk image on your hard drive with the content of your dvd.
This way you don't waste a dvd if something goes wrong; plus you can check the resulting disk image with DVD Player just like an actual disc, and you can burn as many copies as you like using Disk Utility.
Another troubleshooting idea: expor a master file and test that. Does it play correctly?
Do you have any audio containing DRM (like an old iTunes purchase, maybe) in your project?

I finished my project and have it on DVD and Bluray. Now I want to free up disk space by deleting everything that had to do with the project including event clips. Does 'moving to trash' accomplish that?

Yes, selecting "move to trash" from within FCPX will free up disk space.
I "Move Project To Trash" first.
Then "Move Event To Trash" secondly.
To totally free up disk space, you will of course need to empty out your trash as you would per any other unwanted file you've sent to the trash can.

Hmmm, Norton extensions are broken again in Firefox 4.0.1. It seems that Norton didn't allow for Firefox 4.0 security updates when they updated their Firefox extension for Firefox 4.0. Norton says they'll have a fix in two weeks. A Norton user posted a fix in this forum thread.
