Hi! I've switched from "Photoshop for Photographers" to a full yearly 30$/month subsciption, but the "Photoshop for Photographers" still stays. Is that a bug, or a feature? Also, if it's a feature, should I early-cancel it, or will that change my new subscription price?

i don't see it as much of a feature because you're getting nothing for that $10/mo. cancel it.

If you had LR installed before when it was the serial-number version, then uninstall it, and install LR from the CC Desktop app.
If you have never had LR installed, before, then there may be something wrong with your subscription being recognized.
If you log into www.adobe.com <http://www.adobe.com> and click Manage Account what does it show for your subscriptions?

how can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac? i have a client that specificly needs the files to be avi and in 24bit what are the settings that i need to use to export the video using photoshop on a mac?

To make a 24-bit AVI file in Photoshop, go to File>Export>Render Video. Then, under File Options, choose AVI from the Quicktime Export drop-down menu. Click the Settings button. Click the Settings button in the AVI Settings window. Change Compression to None, and then choose "Millions of Colors" from the Depth drop-down under Compression.
The Millions of Colors option is for 24-bit video (8-bit R+G+B channels, 8x3=24). Millions of Colors+ is for 32-bit video (24-bit video plus an 8-bit alpha channel).

I would like to take up the offer for Photoshop for Photographers but it requires that you own CS3. Does teh Student Version qualify?

It doesn't say, but I'd be inclined to give Customer care a call and try my luck. I have a feeling you might just get away with it.

Switching subscription from Windows to Mac

I have a CC subscription and would like to switch it from my Windows computer to my Mac. I made a few searches but I'm having a brain-fart on good search terms and haven't found what I'm looking for.
Is there a step-by-step for making this switch? Or could someone point me in the right direction?

There is no need to switch. You are allowed to have the software installed and working on two machines, and since it is CC it means you can have mixed systems, meaning one installation could be Windows and one could be Mac. So you only need to be concerned with installing on the Mac. If you want to you can sign out of the Windows installation, but it is not required.

Upgrade from CC for Photographers to Full CC billing question

I want to upgrade to full cc. But before I do I just need clarification of how I'll be billed since I took advantage of the CC for Photographers. Will I be billed for both? Or will adding full cc mean it "cancels" out that $9.99 payment? Thanks!

I'm a student looking to sign up for Adobe Creative Cloud/Photography. I currently have a PC, and would be installing the software on this computer. I may upgrade my computer choice to a Mac within the next year. Would I be able to maintain my subscription from a PC to a Mac, or would I need to cancel and re-subscribe?

My client requirement is that Shopping cart number should be generated based on year and month specific.
Though it is possible through smart numbering, it should generate automaticaly.
For eg:- Shopping cart generated for March 2011 should be 1103SC00001 to 1103SC99999
Shopping cart generated for June 2011 should be 1106SC00001 to 1106SC99999
Shopping cart generated for January 2012 should be 1201SC00001 to 1201SC99999

Paid Subscription (Photoshop for Photographers)- Application Manager Says Otherwise

After wanting to smack my MacBook multiple times, I keep getting a very grumpy message from my application manager insisting that my subscription is expired. Now, had I not JUST paid my bill a week or so ago, I would understand this. Also keep in mind a few days ago my Photoshop was working fine. And upon checking my account, everything is still active. Help?

Won't print centered from photoshop for my private business

My sister and I have started a small private business for design, including logos, invitations, business cards ect. We are running into problems while trying to print front and back on our Epson r3000 printer as well as our small canon printer whenever we use photoshop to print. I have tried scale to fit media, changing margins, clicking "Center Image" button, but when we feed it back through to print on the opposite side and use the same settings, the front and back are milometers to centimeters off at times. When we use our paper cutter we then either cut off some of the design or have a white edge... It is very inconvenient and we have an order of 300 invitations that need to be finished and sent to the customer early next week. Please, help would be much appreciated.

Are you feeding in the same leading edge of the paper?
If your printer has side guides, do you remember to switch (from left on the front to right on the backup) so that the same edge is used for reference when feeding in the sheet?

Extracting pics from photoshop for web

I posted the issue here (below) - but could use any assitance from the DW folks also - since that's where I'll be building the page...
Newbie extract help needed

Once you drop out any info from the PS file you don't want to carry over, like the background image, there's no need to flatten the PSD into a tiff...
1. In Photoshop, select an area with the Rectangle Marquee tool.
2. Hit Ctrl + Shift + C to "Copy all layers" in that selection.
3. Hit Ctrl + N to create a new document with the same pixel size as the selection (size should be automatic based on selection)
4. Hit Ctrl + P to paste the image to the new document
5. Hit Ctrl + Shift + Alt + S to Save For Web (important for load times to optimize your images for the web)
6. Choose jpg for high quality photographs, .gif for "simple artwork with transparency" or PNG-24 for "high quality artwork/photos with transparency"
7. Hit the 4 Up tab and change the quality settings until they are as low as possible while still looking "good" to you
8. Click the window with the "lowest good setting"
9. Save to your local site folder (if you don't have one in DW, do step 1 below first)

2a.You can then go to Insert > Image > Image to place the image where the mouse cursor is
2b. Alternatively, you can drag the image from the Files window into the page
I'm giving you the "long" way around with the images. Photoshop can produce html, and/or all of your sliced areas at once with a couple clicks. I prefer a bit more control over my images and the html PS produces should never be used for real websites (maybe quick mock-ups, but not for the real thing). It's horribly inflexible and when you start adding real content it will cause more problems than it solves.

Switching image from Photoshop to ImageReady, CS1

I am making a website of my art, and after I edit it in Photoshop, I then switch to Imageready and add the image to a webpage. However, the quality goes way down every time, and it's frustrating. The color becomes muted, and the artwork becomes grainier. I'm not doing anything like enlarging the image beforehand, either. I can look at two windows, one in Photoshop, and one in ImageReady of the exact same image, and the quality difference is huge.
Could someone help, please, if it's possible to do anything?

because it writes in a 1.8 gamma correction, which some applications honor and some do not, so you have no way to predict how the image will display in various applications.
CS2 (and earlier) Save for Web does the same.
CS3 SFW does not write the unwanted gamma chunk.

How do i change my subscription from Photoshop only CC to the new PhotoGraphy Bundle without having

I noticed today that a new photography bundle is available containing Photoshop & Lightroom for 12,29 euro/month.
I would like to subscribe to this bundle since it's cheaper and gives me more programs.
How can I do this without having to pay the 50% cancellation fee?
can i delete the subscription and immediately subscribe to the Photography bundle without the fee?

Problem importing Assets from photoshop for a menu

Forgive me everyone this is going to be a newbie qustion. I am trying to take photo which is 3648 x 2736 and use it as a back ground for my DVD main menu. I am using the blank menu wide as a templete. I crop the picture in photoshop down to 1280 x 720 It is a group picture of about eight people and when I import it into Encore one of the person on the left gets cut off. I taking 720 material and making it wide 16x9 DVD. Now this is what confusing me. I also have Sonic DVD and as a test I did the same steps and I was able to get everyone on the main menu. What am I doing wrong in Encore or is this a Encore issue? Also do I import the picture as a Asset or a Menu?

1280x720 is not a DVD compliant resolution, so perhaps the first thing should be to resize to the correct resolution.
Easiest way to start this process is to drop the DPI from what is probably 300 down to 72, and see what size the picture then becomes.
People will tell you that DPI is irrelevant as it is for print only, but a huge image that size at 300DPI will get a lot smaller dropped to 72DPI.
Are you building a DVD or a Blu-Ray disc?
Either way, it is probably better to build the menu in Photoshop, including all your button sets, and then import to Encore as a Menu
