Synching itunes to already loaded ipod

I recently transfered my music from my ipod back on to my itunes because somehow my itunes got wiped off my computer. Now that my itunes is back to normal I need to sync my ipod but when I try I get the message I will need to "erase current data and sync". In theory I am assuming my ipod will be wiped clean then have the same music put right back on but I am scared to pull the trigger if it does not reload my music. Any advice or experience with this?

Im not sure how to post questions here, so hoping I can get some assistance from you. perhaps i have some sync issues: when I uncheck songs in the library, they still appear on my ipod. Secondly, when I play the ipod in shuffle mode it just seems that the same songs play repeatedly. I have a 30gig with over 5000 songs and just seem to hear too much of the same....any advice would be appreciated.

  • Because it appears that is already loaded iPod battery when it is not already

    hello friends
my question is why my ipod touch it appears that you have already finished loading and itunes does not appear that this loading
    please help me.

I hope I've understood your question correctly, as I suspect English is not your first language.
You are asking why the "battery icon" in the top right says it is full, but the "battery picture" in the middle of the screen shows not full. like this:
If so, I think the iPod is simply confused. If you leave the battery on charge, usually the icon in the top right will change to show the charging symbol.
If this is not your problem and I've misunderstood your question, try posting your question in you native language as well as English.

  • What to do about cleared out iTunes program but loaded iPod Touch?

    Hey guys,
I recently had to replace my hard drive and in that process my Itunes files (files, software everything) had been reverted to a few years ago, which means I dont have any songs I listen to currently, only songs that i liked back in 2007. I didnt make a back up of my library but I was wondering how I set up my iPod touch to act like a "backup" when I Plug it in? I have already "transferred purchases" but not satisfied.
    Thanks!!

Failing to backup is not good. This is very basic.
The music sync is one way -computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases.

  • Unable to synch itune movie to my ipod classic

    Hello -
I recently bought an ipod classic, but it will not sync my purchased movie. I've noticed the movie has an exclamation mark beside it. When I checked my itunes file; the movie downloaded to a "Downloads Folder", is there something wrong?

Yes, it should be in your iTunes folder. The ! next to the song indicates that iTunes has lost track of where that movie file is located.
Move it to your iTunes folder and you should have no trouble syncing it.

  • Itunes will not "load" ipod

    Hello all!!
i have downloaded the latest version of itunes - 9.0, and after that my ipod will not run on itunes.
the main screen on itunes comes up with my ipod registry and ipod shows 'connected' but NOTHING ELSE; no sync, no disconnect, nothing.
i have to go to 'windows task manager' to close itunes in order to "free" my ipod. i have tried different things like downloading itunes again, defragmenting, but no good..
does anybody have any idea what's going on? is this the same thing every time a new version comes out.. i have to wait for all the 'bugs' to be cleared by apple?
    thanks for coop
    M.

Apparently, there are issues with version 9.0 and older iPods. Personally, I never upgrade immediately for this very reason.
Apple now has version 9.0.1 available for download. Why not try the new version and see if it works any better.
If that does not work, you can try reinstalling whatever version you had prior to upgrading to version 9. Each time you upgrade, iTunes saves a copy of the old library in the "Previous iTunes Library" folder (underneath your iTunes folder in "My Music"). You will probably need that copy of your library to work with the older version of iTunes.
You can get old versions of iTunes on CNET (http://download.cnet.com/Apple-iTunes/3000-2141_4-10235268.html). Scroll to the bottom of the page (to the Previous Versions section).

  • What's the easiest way to transfer photos from PC to ipad?  I've tried using itunes, but adding more photos erases photos already loaded.  Help!

How to transfer photos from PC to ipad without erasing photos already loaded.  The only option I find in itunes is to synch, which only transfers into one album on the ipad.  I'm sure I'm just missing an easy step.  Transferring photos from PC to android is a snap, can't be this hard with ipad.

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

  • Long time synching Itunes to my Ipod

Not sure what i'm doing wrong now but it's literally taking my 15 gig Ipod about 20 minutes to synch when I only load one new song when it would be done in less then a minute w/ the older version.
Do you know what i'm doing wrong w/ this new itunes?

You are not doing anything wrong. Many people have noticed slower sync with new iTunes version.
I have noticed during sync that there is a lot of disc activity even with only few file changes. I am guesing that it is checking the contents of the iPod against the library in iTunes before actually syncing. I timed the last sync I did, 8 minutes of very heavy disc activity followed by 1.5 minutes transfer, then 1 minute of "closing" forget what it said exactly, then I got the OK to disconnect message.

  • I am trying to put the music from my ipod onto my new computer. After installing itunes and connecting my ipod touch a message comes up saying that my ipod is already synced with another library. What can I do to sync it with a new library?

I recently got a new computer and got rid of my old one. I am trying to put the music from my ipod touch onto my new computer but keep getting a message saying that my ipod is already synced with a library and cannot be synced with more than one. How do I access that library on my new computer and if I can't are their other ways for me to put the music on my ipod into my new computer?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your iPod manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your iPod to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your iPod for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread:http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

    Hi FWFFP,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below will explain how to get music onto your new computer.  I'd personally recommend the option of copying the iTunes library from your current computer to an external drive, because it creates a backup for you as well:

  • Can iTunes purchases be loaded to multiple iPods within the same household

Is it legal to download purchased music from iTunes Music Store to more than one iPod within the same household?
I understand the implications with teenagers sharing music in this manner; however, it seems crazy that I need purchase duplicate music to download to both mine and my wife's iPod.
I tested this with a few of the songs I purchased over the weekend and the iTunes software will allow the files to be imported into iTunes but not the iPod. It gives a message that states my wife's iPod is not autorized to download these files.
Please advise if it is legal to do this and if so how I can go about importing purchased files to my wife's iPod?

It says the files are not authorized for use on that her iPod. I made the purchases from my work laptop and updated my iPod from iTunes on my computer.
I added original CD tracts to the iTunes software on my work laptop and copied these and my purchased files to a second version of iTunes that is running on my home computer that my wife uses to manage her iPod.
I imported the folders to her computer by going to "File" and "Add Folder to Library". It brought the purchased files in to her library and auto-created a folder that it identified as imported Limeware files for the folders of the CD files.
When I updated her ipod it loaded all the files except for the 6 purchased files that I had brought in. That is when I got the message saying that her iPod was not authorized to receive the 6 purchased files.
In addition to not being able to load my purchased files to my wife's iPod, I am afraid that I will be charged for the imported CD files that iTunes automatically and erroneously identified as "Limeware" files.
Any advice? Thanks for the feedback and taking the time.

  • When I try to sync music from iTunes playlist to my Ipod shuffle it says the iPod is synced to a different liabrary.  It asks if I want to delete the music already on the Ipod and sync it to "this" library.  I don't want to lose the music already on Ipod.

Please help.  I have no idea why this is happening and I'm kinda new to using iTunes.  I'm trying to sync music from a playlist on my iTunes account onto my iPod Shuffle (older Shuffle).  I use Windows XP on my laptop.  When I try moving the songs to the iPod it says the iPod is synced to another library.  I didn't know I had another library (but I guess it is possible because I used iTunes a few years ago too).
The only option I get is to delete the music already on the iPod and sync the iPod to "this" library.  I really don't want to lose the music already on the iPod.  PLEASE HELP.  I'm tech challenged to say the least.
