Synchronization Error - Desktop Manager 4.7, Curve 8310

During synchronization the software detects differences in the email addresses of invitees to an appointment, when I tell it to make no changes and proceed it locks up with a Windows error that says "Blackberry Desktop Manager has stopped working" and a button to close program.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop Manager and still get the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Pats and welcome to the forums!
Here is the article you need:
KB04132 How to set up Bluetooth connectivity with BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Note that different PC manufacturers use their own proprietary Bluetooth "stacks"
I didn't have time to check the Lenovo site but you should double check after
following the procedure listed .
I personally recommend not removing the proprietary Bluetooth drivers.
It's a pretty involved procedure even with an experienced tech.
I suggest you check the list of Bluetooth dongles listed in the Microsoft section.
Remove the Leonvo Bluetooth drivers, install the Native Bluetooth.
With complete system backup your looking at 4 hours if it's perfect.
Install a Bluetooth Dongle, with a McDonald's stop less than an hour!

Hi and Welcome to the forums!
From you post, I cannot tell if you've done all of this or not, so I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Curve 8310 Problems Syncing Outlook Calendar & Desktop Manager Freezing

Hi: I recently bought a Curve 8310. It has Desktop Manager version 4.2.2.14; my laptop has Vista Home Premium and I use Outlook 2007.
Just a day or two ago Desktop Manager started crashing while syncing Outlook Calendar. It stops at Calendar entry 76 and then freezes. From checking the Technical Solution Center I understand the problem may be a corrupt Calendar entry. Dealing with this apparently involves going into Configure Synchronization but Desktop Manager won't let me do this. If I start it when the phone is connected to my laptop it doesn't register the connection and often freezes. If I start it, then connect the phone, and stop the synchronization process before it crashes Manager, clicking on any of the Desktop Manager ikons, including Synchronize, doesn't have any effect. I've tried reinstalling Desktop Manager from the CD supplied by my phone provider but it's made no difference.
I'd be grateful for any advice; Before this problem developed I was really enjoying my BlackBurry.

    Hi,
First we need to do a clean reinstall of the software to makes sure all registry and files have been completely removed:
     Link 1.
Then we need too reinstall the 4.2 software, taking into account the Vista considerations for install:
    Link 2
After install reboot the PC, start DM, Pull the battery while the device is ON, replace after a minute,
Let the device reboot 1-3 min,  Plug the BB into the USB cable, Go to synchronization options and rest the options to only
Synch the calendar, sync for two way, select no other programs. Start the sync process.
Please let us know the results,
    Thanks,

  • Desktop Manager Run Errors

I am running the latest version of Desktop Manager. Something happened within the last couple of months that when I run the application I get a popup window called "Microsoft Exchange Setup Wizard"
In the window there is a program checked off called "Winfax pro" with a checkoff next to "Use the following information services"  So I hit next. I get another window that says "The Winfax Logon Provider is now fully configured and ready to use" and I hit next again. Now I get the last window that reads "An error prevented the personal folders information service from being added to the profile. Try again. If the problem persists contact your administrator". Then I hit finish and the desktop manager loads and runs fine. I don't know what causes all of this. I never had to do this before. I do not use MS Exchange and I don't have exchange installed on my computer. I don't use the synchronzing feature at all. All I use the desktop manager for is transferring photos, music and ringtones.  This is becoming a Nuisance everytime I start the manager. Any ideas anyone ?  I am using Windows XP Sp3
UPDATE: It appears that when I click on the Icon to start the desktop manager software, it thinks that I want to run the Redirector software, So i tried to run Desktop manager by clicking directly on the DesktopManager.exe file but it still takes me to MS Exchange Setup Wizard.
UPDATE: Finally got it to work. It appears that during a software update, Desktop manager decided to install the redirector software and lead it to believe I was running MS exchange server. I uninstalled Desktop Manager completely and reinstalled. That solved the problem and I no longer get the MS Exchange setup wizard when desktop manager is launched.

I've tried uninstall/reinstalling desktop software, updating my Curve 8310 software, and a simple computer restart.  On my gf's computer, I ran the script:  regsvr32 /u "C:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll" and then ran it again without the /u and I didn't receive those errors anymore.  Maybe just lucky, well I'll wait to see...  Any suggestion would help!

    Hi,
First we need to do a clean install of the DM you have on, this will clean up the other installation as well,
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02206&sliceId=SAL_Pub...
After you are down download DM 4.5 with NO MEDIA MANAGER from here:

Just for trouble shooting purpose, turn off firewall and virus checkers,
Bring DM, go through the setup wizards, connect your BB and do a BACKUP first

  • Error with Desktop Manager synchronization - won't let me set up synch settings

I have a new PC laptop and want to set it up to synch with my old Blackberry 8310 Curve just like it used to do with the old laptop.
I downloaded the latest Desktop Manager software (version 6.0.0.40) and am trying to set up the synchronization settings, but am not able to.  I called Microsoft to see if there was any problem (I'm using Office 2010), and they said I'd need to talk to Blackberry.
    Here's what's happening:
I connect my Blackberry to my PC laptop.
    I open Desktop Manger 6.0.0.40.
I choose "Organizer" from the left-hand menu, and then "Configure settings."
I get a setup pop-up window that asks me to configure Calendar, Tasks, etc. in turn by checking the box.
I check a box, for example "Calendar Setup" and choose Outlook from the list of programs.
I click "next" and then choose "two-way sync."
I click "next" and get a pop-up error message with title "Intellisync" that reads:  "The operation terminated unexpectedly."
This happens for every type of content I check (calendar, tasks, address book....).
Can anyone shed some light on this?  I'm anxious to get my Outlook useful again and to have my data synching back and forth!
    Thank you in advance!

    Hey elizabethdw,
    Thanks for the reply.
To fix this issue, attempt to do a detect and repair in Microsoft Outlook.  Which is done under Help>Office Diagnostics.
Save your PST information just to cautious!!!  To do this: File>Import and Export>Export to a File>Personal Folder File, then save this file to somewheres where you can find it.
If that does not resolve the issue, perform a clean uninstall of Microsoft Office, and re-install only the full version, restart the computer afterwards, and then attempt to setup the synchronization.
I look forward to your reply.

I have a BB Curve 8310 with Desktop Manager v4.6 that I syn with Outlook 2003. Calendar, tasks, and memo will sync.  The sync fails on the address book with this message:  Unable to read application data record. • Installation and Connection Error with Desktop Manager and Curve 3G

I just installed Desktop Manager 6.01 and then tried connecting my Curve 3G to the system using the accompanying USB cable.. But there was a connection error.. so i did a bit searching on the net and went to (http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB00125)  which gave me a solution to install m\y driver.. But when i try to manually install my driver, it shows an error   "THE SERVICE CANNOT BE STARTED, EITHER BECAUSE IT IS DISABLED OR IT HAS NO ENABLED DEVICES ASSOCIATED WITH IT"  now the USB is working because my phone is being recognised by the laptop and moreover in the device manager od my Vista, Blackberry is being shown... I cn see in drivers that Drivers have been installed but the drive Information such as Version, date is not available and the driver is unsigned...
Can someone tell me what exactly might the problem?? any reply will be appreciated..

I encountered the same issue, Not sure if you'll have the same results, but all i did was enable windows updates, and did an automatic driver update from the web (as in from windows updates) and after a reboot, all was back to normal.

This is really odd...is this a work computer? Did they redirect your C: drive to a server somehow? Do you have perhaps a different truly local hard drive that you could use as the installation destination? Really odd indeed...

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and Desktop Manager v5.0

I have a BB curve 8330 running the current device software, BB Desktop manager v5.0 and Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista and have just recently experienced problems syncing.  I continue to get an error message such as below...
Faulting application DesktopMgr.exe, version 5.0.0.11, time stamp 0x4a4bd539, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03821, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000afaf8, process id 0x1dc, application start time 0x01ca41d751046e2b.
I've tried everything I can think of from reinstalling DTM, previous versions of DTM...getting rid of the "intellisync" folder that others have discussed...scanning my PST and OST files for errors, reconfiguring the sync settings...all with the same result.  Everything is fine until it goes to read the calendar off of outlook and sync it...then it crashes saying the program has to close and windows will notify me if there is a solution....I've even tried running DTM with Vista's "Administrator" option and no dice...
I'm thinking this is an issue either with DTM or with the latest Vista Update (Windows 7 can't come soon enough!)....anyone else have any other ideas as to what this could be???

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While you have tried many things, I cannot tell if you have tried this...so apologies if it is redundant in any way.
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots).
