SYNCHRONIZING a MAPPING  in OWB 11.2.0.3

Hello folks,
I am running into a weird issue with my OWB Mappings and synchrinization.
Here is what I am experiencing:
1). I update my staging table to add new columns within the design center
2). I go into my corresponding Mapping and try to synchronize (IN BOUND) the the mapping staging table operator so as to sync up the staging table with the new changes before validating my mapping
3). During the synchronization PRE-VIEW operation, I realize that the source to target columns that are to be updated DO NOT MATCH one to one.
I am doing an INBOUND synchronization, by OBJECT NAME, REPLACE
Can someone tell me if I am doing something wrong here please. I am so deperate. I have tried this a few times already.
Mark you that, I tried the OUTBOUND synchronization, the colums match one to one but the new columns are of course showing DELETE
PLEASE HELP ME ME ANY POINTERS.

I was up all night as I had a dead line doing this....
Turned out my Mapping was corrupted.
If you do a series of synchronizations by object name, position, id the mapping would end up corrupted.
I had to delete my staging table operator within the mapping, drag and drop and reconnect and now my loads work just fine..
Thanks

  • Error while deploying a mapping in OWB.

    Hi All,

    Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Client: 9.2.0.2.8
    Oracle9i Warehouse Builder Client: 9.2.0.2.0
    OS: Windows XP Professional.
    Following is error message displayed when i tried to deploy a mapping thru OWB Client.

    Am i missing few steps for deployment of the mapping?
    The error message RTC-5260 suggests that
    This Runtime Access user is not associated with the specified runtime repository. How this can be done?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Vidyanand

    Hi Vidyanand,
    Did you create the runtime access user using the runtime assistant? Did you select the correct runtime repository (if you have more) to associate your runtime access user with?
    Note that there are 4 database roles being created when you create a runtime repository owner:
    - OWB_A_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_D_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_R_<runtime repository owner>
    - OWB_U_<runtime repository owner>
    If you would grant those roles to a user, then that user becomes an access user for the user with username <runtime repository owner>.
    Note that you can also use the runtime repository credentials to connect to the runtime repository for deployment purposes, but you may not want that because of security concerns.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • Mapping in OWB with primary key and foreign key relationship

    Hi all,
    I am new to this datawarehousing field. I have just started my career. I have to now create a mapping in owb where a table has a field which is a primary key of another table in the same staging area. If you guys could help me out with the a method it can be created that would be very helpful to me.
    I thought of 2 ideas,
    1. If I can use a look up, but then I am not sure if i can use a lookup for primary key, foreign key relationship. If I can use also, I do not know how to use that.
    2. What if I can directly take that the first table and link the primary key of that table to the second table which uses that primary key of the first table as one of its fields.
    I do not know how feasible these methods are. Please guys help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    I have a similar case where table a and table b having relation but table a got inserted with data and table b is empty so there no values for foriegn key column in table b to realte with table a.
    Now i want to load table b foriegn key with primary key column values of table a.
    how can we do this in owb
    thanks

  • Convert a stored procedure to mapping in owb

    Hi All,
    We have stored procedures which are called in a mapping of OWB to load a target table.
    I want to get rid of those stored proc and use a normal mapping there where in from the ammoing itsekf I can load the data in the target table.
    Do we have any feature in owb where in that can be done automatically.

    Hi,
    I gone through URL which was posted, it was nice.. We are using OWB 11.1.0.7.0 Version in that we are unable to see Build from SQL. Can you please let us know in which version that option is available.

  • A tool to export a video of DIAdem VIEW, playing a synchronized video, map, audio and data

    It's very common you need to do a presentation with several information and if you can put a video playing a synchronized video, map, audio and data graphs, like DIAdem VIEW do, your presentation will be cause a excellent impression. To do this today you need a capture screen toll, If DIAdem have a native tool to do this it would be great.

    Hello,
    Today I tested the screen capture software Camtasia Studio 8 and this works really good. The files can be saved as an AVI file and different qualities can be chosen, which gives some flexibility in the file size. The screen capture is working fast, so if I run with 1 Hz the VIEW layout with a map and several 2d graphs all the frames are captured.
    With kind regards,

  • Execute a mapping outside OWB

    Hello,
    I want to execute a mapping outside OWB. Therefore I want to use this code:
    DECLARE
    l_retval NUMBER;
    l_env WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    BEGIN
    l_retval := mapping_name.MAIN(l_env);
    END;
    The problem I have now is that I don't know how to fill variable l_env.

    LS,
    Try this one from SQL*Plus (got this from André Deumers, Oracle NL):
    "set verify off
    set feed off
    set term on
    set serveroutput on
    WHENEVER SQLERROR CONTINUE NONE;
    accept mapping prompt "Please enter mapping name: "
    DECLARE
    RetVal NUMBER;
    P_ENV WB_RT_MAPAUDIT.WB_RT_NAME_VALUES;
    BEGIN
    -- Initialize Parameters
    p_env(1).param_name := 'MAX_NO_OF_ERRORS';
    p_env(1).param_value := '0';
    p_env(2).param_name := 'COMMIT_FREQUENCY';
    p_env(2).param_value := '999999';
    p_env(3).param_name := 'OPERATING_MODE';
    p_env(3).param_value := '1'; -- ROW_BASED
    p_env(4).param_name := 'BULK_SIZE';
    p_env(4).param_value := '999999';
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Procedure start: ' || to_char(sysdate, 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
    FOR i IN 1..p_env.COUNT LOOP
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line(p_env(i).param_name || ' = ' || p_env(i).param_value);
    END LOOP;
    RetVal := &mapping..MAIN ( p_env );
    CASE WHEN RetVal = 0 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Successful');
    WHEN RetVal = 1 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Abort');
    WHEN RetVal = 2 THEN DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Error');
    ELSE DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Result Unknown?');
    END CASE;
    DBMS_Output.Put_Line('Procedure stop: ' || to_char(sysdate, 'dd-mm-yyyy hh24:mi:ss'));
    END;
    set verify on
    set feed on
    If you want to execute something like this from PL/SQL, so not necessarily from SQL*Plus, give us the question, I'll give you some source.

  • Error VLD-1108 while validating the mapping in owb 11g

    Hi All,
    I am using owb 11.1.0.7.0. I am new to owb 11g. I am getting the following error while validating the mapping
    error: VLD-1108 . Operator requires more input or output connections in order to generate mapping code.
    I am using a function as operator and mapping it with the table.
    Please tell me the solution for this. Its urgent
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
    u must be using a procedure or table function that is called in the mapping for execution. When writing the function u would have specified 3 inputs but in the mapping u would have given only 2. check the number of inputs and make sure they match.

  • How to schedle the mapping in OWB?

    Can any please provide me link to see the steps to schedule the OWB mapping. My version is 11.1.0.7.0. The mapping is developed
    by some one. Now i need to take responsibility on this. I need to know how to schedule the mapping.I want to run this every day mighnight.
    In project explorer, I went into schedules. Then i created the schedule. After that, i am not sure, how to link the mapping on this scheduler.
    any help is highly appreciated.
    thanks.

    Hi ,
    Do you have metalink or my oracle support access ?
    If yes then check Note 444877.1 for OWB mapping or process flow scheduling .
    1. Verify the mapping or process flow completes successfully.
    2. Navigate to the Schedules node in the Design Center Console and create a new Schedules module
    called MY_SCHEDULES. For the location, select your TARGET_LOCATION, as the schedule will be deployed to the database.
    3. Create a new schedule, TEST_SCH, with time greater than current database machine time (server where the job executes).
    4. Associate your schedule with the mapping or process flow. Right click the mapping or process flow and select the option "Configure" and "set Referred Calendar" to TEST_SCH.
    5. In the Control Center Manager, navigate to your TARGET_LOCATION and note the Scheduled Job TEST_SCH_JOB under the Scheduled Jobs node. Deploy the job with action "Create".
    Using SQLPlus logged into the database as the TARGET user, verify the user has a job TEST_SCH_JOB, in state DISABLED:
    select job_name, state from user_scheduler_jobs;
    6. Use the Schedule tab on the Control Center Jobs panel in the Control Center Manager to schedule
    the job. Highlight, right click the job and from the pop-up menu select "start". Use the same query to check the current status:
    select job_name, state from user_scheduler_jobs;
    The above query will show whether the scheduled job is SCHEDULED, RUNNING or SUCCEEDED.

    Hi Raj,
    OWB Mappings executed through Control Center Manager. Please open Control Center Manager, navigate to your mapping, deploy that and then execute.
    PS: Make sure you have created the location for the module where you created mapping.

  • How we run the sequence of mapping in owb?

    I have warehouse building mapping which is developed by some one. Now i wanted to run from beginging to end. I am able to run individual mapping manually.

  • Unable to deploy Mapping in OWB

    I am using OWB 10.1.0.4.0 for development purposes.
    I created a source module and a target module and then created a mapping.
    The mapping references 2 tables from the source and one table from the target itself.
    2 grant statements were executed from the source schema granting select on these 2 tables to the target schema.
    A database link was created in the target schema using the CREATE DATABASE LINK statement.
    A connector was deployed and successfully created in the target module in OWB.
    When I deploy the mapping, I get the error – table or view does not exist
    I checked the script that was generated as a result of the mapping deployment.
    All three tables are available in the select query. But the tables referenced from the source schema do not have
    the source schema name attached to them.
    i.e., if EMP table is referenced from the source schema SRC, the query should have SRC.EMP in the FROM
    clause. But this is not the case. Only EMP is referenced.
    I tried everything I could think of , but I am unable to deploy the mapping.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

    In your map, does the source table reside in the OWB src module, and the target table reside in the target module? And the modules are configured correctly, so src module uses src location and tgt module uses tgt location. If OWB thinks these are in the same database instance schema.table references should be generated in the code, db link will not be used. The way this same locality is determined is by comparing the host, port,service names for example. Did you create your map like this? Or did you just add unbound tables representing the source and target in the map? So with OWB you can build bottom up or top down.

  • Synchronous message mapping - access to originating request message?

    Say you have a synchronous message - like a SOAP web service request - and you map it to an RFC call, is there any way for the message mapping from the RFC response message to the SOAP response message to access fields from the original SOAP request message?  Or even just a temporary storage area that I could store values from the originating request message?

    Hi Jonathon!
    First of all, why not access the original soap request message inside the RFC..you will be receiving this data in your RFC...is the RFC is standard, maybe you can make a wrapper with a Z RFC of your own to store the original data and use it later to build the RFC response.
    Another idea: you could call a RFC via JCO inside a UDF in mapping.. this RFC could write  some data in XI business system during the request mapping and another call to a "reading" RFC could read that data in the response mapping.
    Other idea: use BPM, you can use containers to store the request SOAP message, call synchronously the RFC and then use a transform step (mapping) to use the original request SOAP message and the RFC response message to "merge"/build the response for the SOAP.
